Intellectual Property ( Ip ) Is Everywhere
Intellectual Property (IP) is everywhere. IP is inventions. IP is literary and artistic works. IP is
designs or symbols. IP is names and images used in commerce. Almost everything is IP. These
things can be protected by patent, copyright, service mark, or trademark. These topics are very
complicated; the consolidated version of US patentlaws and rules is over 200 pages long. While
there are many good things about IP protection, there are also many unnecessary problems with it
that should be changed. Some of these problems include IP education, and the lack of it, the time
frame that these protections span, and the major lack of solid international laws. In most grade
schools and high schools, the only IP protection education is your English teachers telling you not
to plagiarize copyrighted works, or a business class may go into it a little. The majority of patent
and copyrighteducation is in law schools but it is important to all of us, even if we don t want to
go into law, that we know these laws. Everybody is affected by IP, everybody creates IP, and
everybody is a copyright holder. Many people don t know that any original work is copyrighted
from the moment it is created in a tangible space, such as paper, film, or silicon chip, no registration
necessary. Copyrightable works include literary works, musical compositions, films, software
programs, or paintings. Patents cover inventions, ideas, designs, and compositions of matter. To get
a patent, you must first

Asthma Is A Chronic Lung Disease
Asthma, as defined by the NIH, is a chronic lung disease that inflames and narrows the airways.
Asthma causes recurring periods of wheezing (a whistling sound when you breathe), chest
tightness, shortness of breath, and coughing. (National Institutes of Health, National Heart, Lung
and Blood Institute [NHLBI], 2015). There are risk factors that may predispose a child to
developing asthma, which include having allergies, eczema, and/or having parents who have
asthma. Asthma is not a disease that is preventable. (NHLBI, 2015). The risk or likelihood that
someone would have asthma is based on the biological makeup of the individual that would
predispose them to the disease, rather than behavioral, environmental, or even social factors....

(CDC, 2015).
Prevention of asthma is not the focus of interventions since it is not a preventable disease, but rather
the focus is to intervene with the management of the disease. There are some protective factors that
can be employed so that the occurrence of asthma attacks is reduced, or at least, well managed.
Once someone has been identified as having asthma, the goal is to manage it well so that there are
as few asthma attacks as possible. In 2008, the National Asthma Control Initiative (NACI) was
created. The goal of creating the NACI is to have the ability to work with different partners
throughout the community to successfully put asthma guidelines into action beginning with the
home and moving out into the community, which may include schools, health care settings, as well
as other parts of the community. (National Asthma Control Initiative [NACI], 2011). Primary
interventions focus on preventing the disease before it occurs. Because asthma is not a preventable
disease, the evidenced based interventions in place are more representative of interventions at
secondary and tertiary levels than primary. Community health nursing health promotion
interventions for asthma at the secondary level are largely aimed at diagnosing those with asthma
and managing the disease.
The first step of asthma intervention is having it diagnosed. Usually either the primary care
provider diagnoses the

Michelangelo s Impact On Art
Michelangelo Buonarroti is one of the most famous sculptors, painters, architects, and poets during
the high renaissance. He is mostly known for his sculpture of David and his fresco (plaster)
painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo lived a very intriguing life and had a
huge impact on art as we see it today. Michelangelowas viewed as a patron of the Mannerism
movement. His work of art conveyed an alternate style to this era. What used to be a more
moderate style turned into a more humanistic style in which Michelangelo regularly delineated with
nudity. During Michelangelo s life, the western world experienced what was maybe the most
surprising time of change since the decrease of the Roman Empire. The Renaissance saw... Show

Medici was very impressed with his work, Michelangelo was invited to live and study with his
sons at Medici s palace. The people Michelangelo meet there heavily influenced him and his
many ideas about his art. (Sateren, Shelly. Michelangelo pg9) He studied human anatomy; he
learned how the body part fit together. He was also allowed to steady dead bodies at the hospital,
where then he learned where the muscles and veins are located, which helped him create lifelike
statues. In 1492, Lorenzo de Medici died. Michelangelo then decided to leave Florence shortly after
the lost. Many People had heard of him and his skills. Michelangelo was invited to Rome to
work, where there he was hired to carve a statue of the Greek god of wine, Bacchus. A church
official saw his amazing work and then hired him to carve a pieta . His work in Rome had made
him famous; many people wanted Michelangelo to do work for them. In 1501 he decided to
return to Florence, city officials hired him to carve a statue that a previous sculptor never
finished. The previous sculptor was working on carving a large Goliath. But Michelangelo
decided to carve a large David. Around that time many artist sculpted images of David after he
killed the Goliath, but Michelangelo decided to sculpt David before the fight. (Edsel, Robert.

Lord Of The Flies Lomb Song Analysis
This song depicts how the boys felt when they first arrived at the island. They saw that there were
no adults and were excited about all the fun they were planning to have together and without
parental supervision. The song paints an island in a positive light saying that it s a paradise, just
like the boy s original fantasies.
Welcome to the Jungle Guns and Roses
This song relates to Lord of the Flies by showing how the boys slowly became more and more
like animals. In the beginning, things were great. The boys had fun, swam, and ate fruit under
Ralph s leadership. But as Jack s obsession with hunting became unmanageable and he replaced
himself as the new leader of the new tribe , the boys became more and more savage. This chaos
and destructive behavior is modeled in Welcome to the Jungle by lyrics such as welcome to the
jungle, it gets worse here everyday, Ya learn to act like an animal.
Mob song Beauty and the Beast
The mob song from the movie Beauty and the Beast is very similar to the boys ritualistic hunting
dance. They both have a leader Gaston/Jack who urge on the mob to kill the beast.
Gaston and Jack understand that fear can perpetuate a mob mentality that is easily controlled
through a form of frightened excitement and through the absence of light. That is why both Simon
and Piggy both died at the hand of the tribe. The Mob Song uses imagery of darkness and shadow,
much like the novel and both a fueled by a frenzied excitement from the mobs.
Ralph A character Sketch
One of the main characters in Lord of the Flies, Ralph is one of the oldest bigguns on the island.
His good looks and confident demeanor quickly makes him the obvious leader to the boys.
Although he lacks Piggy s apparent intelligence, Ralph is relatively logical and responsible, with
sound judgment and a firm moral scale. But, like the other boys, he can fall into the same entraping
instincts that affect the other boys, as demonstrated by his part Simon s murder.
Regardless, Ralph remains the most civilized character throughout the novel, save for Piggy. At the
end of the novel, it was somewhat tragic because Ralph finally understands that evil lives inside of
all the boys. This leaves him depressed

Stop Under-Forced Marriage
Stop Under Aged Forceed Marriages
Every young girl asks for a new baby Annabel or a new bicycle on the run up to their 11th
birthday, but girls all over the world just want the right to an education and a free life. In the
developing world girls are getting married to older men from ages 30 up. This can end their
chances of an education and puts them at a much greater risk of isolation and violence. For girls
under the age of 15 the incidence of an early forced marriage is one in nine; The girls in these
undeveloped countries can be married as young as 5 years old. It is time to stop these unforgivable
marriages.
Research shows that in some of the biggest Mosques in Britain, millions of famillies have been
caught on camera agreeing to the marriage of their daughters some who are as young as 11 years
old. We cannot allow this to happen here on our doorstep. More awareness, more publicity, more
information has to be distributed so that this practice is brought to the attention of us all. Some of
the causes are due to poverty and religion. This is one of the biggest issues in the world and it

Rhetorical Analysis Of Speech On The Challenger Disaster
On January 28, 1986, Ronald Reagan, comforting and empathetic in his speech entitled Speech on
the Challenger disaster , facilitates the mourning process of the American people following the
Challenger Disaster. He is able to accomplish this by connecting on a personal level with everyone
affected by the tragedy: the school children, family of the deceased, and the entire American
population. In addition, he explains specifically addresses the children with lessons to be learned,
and how to move forward. Finally, He applauds NASA for their hard work and commitment to the
space program. Through Reagan s use of empathy, optimism, and composure, he effectively
persuades America that we can mourn together and there is a bright future ahead of... Show more

Knowing many Americans were lost in the wake of this disaster, Reagan sympathizes by using
pathos in multiple forms. One example is where Reagan says, But we feel the loss, and we re
thinking about you so very much (Reagan 3). His use of the word we helps the audience unite
and mourn together as a country. When he states, we feel the loss (Reagan 3), it makes those
who feel alone feel comforted and feel like they are included. Reagan later says, We will never
forget them, nor the last time we saw them (Reagan 8). This directly puts thoughts of the crew
into the minds of the audience in a positive and remembering fashion. Reagan leaves the emotions
of the audience in a mournful but stable state by putting thoughts of the crew in their minds.
Reagan is also able to connect with the audience by adding specific details, making him seem
more authentic. Right from the start Reagan uses ethos when he says, Nancy and I are pained to
the core by the tragedy of the Shuttle Challenger (Reagan 1). Using his wife s first name makes it
seem more authentic by personalizing the situation to his own life. He is showing that the
Challenger Disaster affects him on a personal level, making whatever he says pertaining to the
disaster more credible. Later, he goes on to explain the situation to the school children and says, I
know it is hard to understand, but sometimes painful things like

Significance Of Trinidad And Tobago Carnival
Question: Examine the economic, social and cultural significance of the Trinidad and Tobago
Carnival (20th century to present) Trinidad and Tobago s carnival is an annual celebration that is
held on the Monday and Tuesday before the Lent season of fasting , which is celebrated by the
Roman Catholic religion. The carnivalfestival of Trinidad and Tobagobegun in the late 18th
century, when the French plantation owners , held organised masquerades balls, before the fasting
of Lent. The Africian slaves and coloureds were not allowed to participate in these celebrations.
In turn they formed their own celebration in which they called Canboulary . During the
celebrations of the Masquerades Balls, the Africian slaves and coloured had some opportunity to
be engaged and enjoy themselves. When these slaves were emancipated in the year 1838, the door
was fully opened for the Africians to participate in their own carnival celebrations. They then took
over carnival and embraced it as an expression of their freedom. They celebrated this festival with
calypso music, soca music, costumes, stick fighting and limbo. The elements of carnival were
developed from the Africian slaves. Calypso music was created in Trinidad during the 17th century

Reform Judaism
Welcome home! It s been a long journey over the past 18 months. And just two weeks ago, we
gathered together to return our Torah scrolls to the ark and dedicate this sanctuary space once

We recognize the same layout of our sanctuary and social hall with placement of the pews and the
gentle slope in the sanctuary allowing us to climb up toward the ark, making aliyah. And the
words da lifnei m atah omeid, Know before whom you stand, still adorn the front of our sanctuary.

The Conceptual Framework Of Financial Reporting By...
Introduction
The Objective of the Conceptual framework project is to improve financial reporting by
providing a more complete, clear and update set of concepts (IFRS.org). Although the current
framework has been crucial in to the IASB when developing and revising IFRS s there have been
a few problems. There are areas that are uncovered, limited guidance and out of date areas. In July
2013 the IASB issued a discussion paper which is designed to explore potential changes to the
IASB c conceptual framework and the possibility of a revised framework. The Conceptual
Framework sets out the concepts that underlie the preparation and presentation of financial

The reference to expected flow of economic benefits causes confusion between the resource and
obligation itself and the inflow or outflows of economic benefits. There are two arguments that
the Discussion Paper 2013 addresses. The first is that the expected part of the definition implies
that there is some sort of level of probability required. This can lead to unfaithful representations in
practice due to assets and liabilities possibly not being recognised and reported in full. The
recognition criteria and guidance sheds light on this dilemma. The second argument was that the
explicit reference to the flows of economic benefits blurs the distinction between resource and
obligation and the resulting flows of economic benefits. The new definition is more specific and
allows users to interpret the definition and identify assets easier. The reference to economic
benefits has been moved to the new definition of economic resource. DP 2013 states this makes the
definition more concise and focused and shows coherently the parallel between the definition of an
asset and liability (DP 2013).
The discussion document states that it will add the term present to the asset definition and retain
it in liability in order to show that the their should be control or obligation by reporting date and
to emphasis the parallel between asset and liability. The phrase as a result of past events will also
be retained. This is to

Charles Schaeffer And Friedrich Nietzsche Essay
Introduction Born nearly 70 years apart from each other, Francis Schaeffer and Friedrich Nietzsche
were two very important figures in creating the modern philosophy. Two different men that studied
two different parts of philosophy. Because of their differences, most are unable to recognize their
many similarities. Each of the men had the things they studied, but the basis of their theories were
almost identical.
Nietzsche
One of the commendable influential philosophers in the history of ideas and a gifted stylist in his
native German, Friedrich Nietzsche undertook a radical re evaluation of established ideas and
critiqued moral values during his career. One of Nietzsche s primary studies was on the problem
of morality. However, he seems to contradict himself on the matter of values. Tansesi claims it is
because of the different definitions of value values in a descriptive sense as that which is thought to
be of value by an individual or by the members of a group, and values in a normative sense as
that which is objectively of value (652). Because of Nietzsche s committed denial of any moral
values, it would seem impossible to attribute him to him a commitment to the existence of any
values in the normative sense (652). In Thus Spake Zarathustra, he claims that to value is to create,
and that it is only through valuing that there is value. In the same section it is also claimed that
men did not discover values, nor were they given by a god; rather, human beings

Compare And Contrast Capitalism And Capitalism
The issue I intend to research is a critical evaluation of capitalism and free markets versus
socialism and Keynesian economics. In the twentieth century every human civilization was
shaken not just by the aftermath of a worldwide war, but by a political rift without equal. This
last concerns the best possible part and elements of government a subject of critical significance
the welfare of all humankind. No other worldwide issue has ever created so profound and
troublesome rupture in popular supposition at high cost to human life. The issue is, figuratively,
regardless of whether an individual possesses himself and the rewards for his labor and mind or
whether he is claimed by the collective and is born accordingly obligated. In other words, regardless
of whether the collective or government should take the chief part in the exercises of the group and
control with omnipotent powers the developments and welfare of the individuals, or whether it
might stand separated from the battle, mediating upon its issues, ensuring reasonable equity to all,
and safeguarding the tenets of fair play. That is to say, whether the administration should take upon
itself the power and elements of the old fashioned slave proprietor, or should leave the society free
to get themselves straightened out into entrepreneur and worker, while the collective government
goes about as the judge, ready in the communal interest to exert physical and financial force against
the individual. This

Diego De Valera
The exact birthplace of the next author, Diego de Valera (1412 1488) does not emerge from any

have been completed that question his paternal lineage, he is believed to be the son of a doctor
named Alonso Chirino and MarГa de Valera and was of noble lineage or minor nobility, which
made it easier for him to enter Juan II s Court (Contreras 27). Valera arrives at Juan II s Court at
about the age of fifteen where he becomes Juan II s and later Enrique IV s doncel; this was around
the time that Juan II first banished ГЃlvaro from Court in 1427. Valera later leaves and goes on to

This author was a major player in the movement to re envision knighthood. In his Espejo de

corruption allegations against ГЃlvaro de Luna that would play a role in his downfall (Netanyahu

stands out by relaying the importance of defining true nobility in a most direct manner. In the
process, Valera emphasizes the importance of Christian, specifically Catholic, values while he
makes an argument against the statement by Seneca that defamers used which claims that good
women exist. Valera quotes the statement as follows Asy commo no ay cosa soberana a la buena

with the drugs came crime. The situation was not helped when people could buy a news paper
just as easy as a gun. Death by drugs and crime in these areas were higher then any were else s in

The All American Girls Professional Baseball League
Before we told our daughters that they could be anyone, or anything they wanted to be, we told
them that they could only be what was acceptable for women to be, and that they could only do
things that were considered ladylike. It was at this time, when the nation was frenzied with the

limitations that their family and society had set for them, and publicly broke into what had been an

Suddenly women were being called from their kitchens to work in the factories, being told that it
was their patriotic duty. The famous Rosie the Riveter image arose from this movement. Rosie
became a new image for women, being portrayed as strong, tough, and attractive. It was from this
very image that the idea for the league was born. The league was the brainchild of Philip K.
Wrigley, president of the Wrigley chewing gum company, and owner of the Chicago Cubs
National League baseball team. Wrigley was concerned with the future of baseball. The major
leagues had already lost more than half of their players to the military. The minor leagues were
even harder hit. By the start of the 1943 season, more than 3,000 minor leaguers had joined the
service or the war effort. Only nine of the nations 26 minor leagues had enough men left to play.
Aside from this reason, there was concern over the continuation of baseball by several public
figures, including President Roosevelt. It was thought that because of the long hours and
demanding work of the war effort that it was important for the American people to have a way to
blow off steam. In the fall of 1942, Wrigley assigned a three man team from the Cubs organization
to look into developing a professional baseball league for women. His theory

Secondary Research Tools
Secondary marketing research is based on information previously gathered by an individual, the
government, and other agencies. Secondary sources are those sources of information that have
been collected previously by other individuals or organizations. Secondary sources of
information can help you to identify other sources of information, it can help you to get an
overall picture of your market or it may provide more detailed information on a specific segment
of the market (Karen Paiyo). There are also various research tools used when conducting
secondary research. Secondary research can be acquired from previous reports, public sources,
newspapers, magazines, commercials, educational sources, and websites. Secondary research is
often easy to find and generally free. It is much more inexpensive than primary research. An
example of secondary research is a general manager, of a professional baseball team, gathering a
summation of statistical information (of a player whose contract is expiring) from previous

American Airlines Streamlining
United States airlines are currently enjoying a boom due to streamlining over the past few years,
streamlining that included mergers and acquisitions. The streamlining was because of many
carriers going bankrupt in the last decade, a situation that was attributed to generous base pay
rates and work rules negotiated by the unions as a result of previous good profits. The current
boom is also tempered by fractious labor relations between the airlines and staff. Delta Airlines
suffered from their pilots picketing in 2016. Southwest pushed back purchase of new airplanes
partly because of tensions with its pilots. This is despite the two airlines having a history of good
labor relations where they have awarded good remuneration to their workers, relations that have
made them some of the most financially successful airlines in the world (Bhaskara, 2016).
However, there were gains in the same year as three year contentious negotiations between ULCC
Allegiant Air and its pilots ended in mid 2016, with the pilots getting hefty pay rises and the airline
s safety record consequently improving (Bhaskara, 2016). United Airlines also reached agreements
with its pilots and flight attendants, with the flight attendants getting a combined contract after six

of 27% pay increases and pilots getting an average of 53% pay increases (Koenig, 2017). On profit

Huckleberry Finn Superiority
In the generations prior to the Civil War, slavery ran rampant through America, especially in the
South. The vast majority of caucasian people in the South owned some number of African
American slaves and because of this, white superiority flourished. The entire culture of America in
this time was that the white man was better than the black man and the black man deserved the
hard labor because it is all he was really good for. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finnby Mark
Twainis set in this pre war time period, in the South, where the slavery and white supremacy was
felt most prominently. Huck Finn is the young boy, narrator, and protagonist of this novel and was
raised with all of these ideals of the superiority of the white man. Throughout... Show more content

Zombie Consumerism In White Noise by Don DeLillo
Addiction... it is a word that almost everyone is afraid of. The most common addictions are on:
cigarettes, drugs or alcohol. There are million cases all around the world connected with these
kinds of problems. People are concentrating on them and are not aware that there are less severe
kinds such as: Zombie Consumerism. When we buy without thinking, motivated by a super low
price, passion or enormous appetite we are guilty of Zombie Consumerism. Shopping is seen by
many addicts as a release from stress and pain, so it can be assumed the inner working cognitively
for a shopping addict would become similar to that of a drug addict or alcohol addict. The
characters in White Noise are victims of Zombie Consumerism.
One of the main themes around which the novel is structured is death. The characters in this novel
realize that they are surrounded by death and that there is no escape. Even though they are aware
that the death is brought to them upon the products they buy and it causes them to suffer both
physically and mentally, they are ignoring the fact and they turn to the illusive comfort that
consumerism provides. The characters turn to consumerism as a way of escaping death. The
products they buy create some kind of comfort and seem as a solution of many problems. They
become desperate because they believe that buying unnecessary products continuously will help
them with their hopeless situation. Good example for this situation is the drug Dylar. Babette starts

Violence And The Inner City Code
The Bond connects to a lot of information from our textbook and class discussions. To begin with,
article 28 in our textbook titled Violence and the Inner City Code relates to this book. For
instance, the article talks about how by simply living in such an environment such as the inner
city; young people are put at special risk of falling victim to aggressive behavior. This was
shown in the section of The Bond written by Sampson. He tells a story that between the summer
of his junior and senior years of high school him and his friends got the idea of robbing drug
dealers to make some quick money. In order to do this, they preyed on young drug salesmen,
pulling a gun on them, taking their money, and driving off. The plan worked for a little while,
but then fell through. While they were robbing someone, two policemen walked up. Sampson
pretended to by a bystander while his friends tried to outrun the police. They failed, and ended up
being detained. Sampson ran home and told his older sister everything, which then made him call
the cops the next day. Soon enough, Sampson ended up serving four weeks at the Essex County
youth house (106 107). Just because Sampson lived where he did, he got drawn into aggressive
behavior and ended up paying for it. The article in the textbook also states that there are often
forces that can counteract the negative influences by far the most powerful is a strong, loving,
decent family committed to middle class values. This was

Visual Analysis Of Geico Ads
Advertisers pay billions of dollars to create ads every year, and some prey on mankind s
weakness, buying products they don t need. Magazines are a popular place for advertisements
because of the broad spectrum of people that purchase them. Magazines are sold in stores and
people buy subscriptions to them too. The techniques used in some advertisements should be
consider wrong and even dangerous. Some examples of the things used in advertisements are
sexuality, fear, and bribery. Because these techniques are out there, people should be made aware
of their seductive powers. GQ: 60th Anniversary Edition has a Geico ad that shows some of those
techniques (73). The audience that advertisers want to appeal with this ad are males who like fashion

Advertising plays a big part in life, not having it could hurt the economy, and primarily as a
country not enough people would buy things because they simple don t know about them. So,
advertising is a key informational tool about products in society today. The economy is built
around people spending money on all products that exist in the world, sustaining it through
taxation. A person usually buys something because it appeals to them in three ways: It looks
good, it s a great deal, and this is a necessity. Because an item looks good, doesn t mean people
should buy it but this is the case most of the time. Also people love when they can save a dollar
or two, and this is why there are coupons a different type of advertisement similar to the Geico
ad, essentially still promising that it will save money if money is spent. Is saving money
spending money, just to save a percentage in the long run? Sometimes, people will not save
money because they don t have the product to begin with, and it can if an existing product is
price reduced by a similar product. The main reason people want to believe they buy something
is because they think it s a necessity to their life. In life there are tons of products that are needed,
and some of those are advertised such as healthcare that should be free. People need insurance in
the society they live in today, and people can even be

Art Analysis Of Norman Rockwell s Breaking Home Ties
The painting Breaking Home Ties was painted by Norman Rockwell in 1954. I chose this piece
of artwork specifically because it is the type of artwork that I can relate to as artwork. Norman
Rockwell is an artist that I grew up knowing his name through the type of artwork he created.
Rockwell s paintings were influenced a lot by his own familyupbringing. The still art that he
created is known for not being modern art but rather people of the idealized America, something
that many people felt was misleading, an era of depression and change, but also artwork that was
the easiest to view because it was practical. The setting appears to be at a rundown railway station.
Usually country stations like this do not see many stops from people coming and going. The
railing that is barely visible at the bottom of the picture reassures that is indeed a train station. The
aged truck that the boy and his father are perched on while waiting, was nothing fancy and served
its purpose for transportation. More than likely this truck has been in the family awhile and is
considered an heirloom being handed down. The weathered flooring that lay to the tracks could
withstand some replacement, but that would probably not be logical with the little business that
runs through this part of the countryside. Rockwell s painting shows a man with his son, possibly
leaving for college, which is something that is not a common thing for country folk. If time is
taken to analyze the painting, although it appears practical, many ideas can come from the
simplicity of it. The father and son appear to be of a blue collar, middle class family. The
importance of this, is the timing of the painting. Rockwell painted this picture directly after
America had been through an era of depression. A time when family and togetherness was amidst
the important things in life. Rockwell liked to paint the real picture of humanity through his own
eyes, and many times relating to his viewers in that same way. Regardless of the reason, that we
may never all agree on, the image he created for our imaginations focused a father and son parting
ways. A father, quite possibly dressed in his best, will see the boy off and give reassurance that
there is a better life to

A very brief insight into the Company: * Merloni Elettrodomestici SpA is an Italian company
based in Fabriano and is one of Europe s biggest makers of domestic appliances. * During the
period from 1984 to 1986, Merloni undertook a number of initiatives to improve efficiency in
inventory control and logistics. * One such initiative was the transit point experiment where in the
Milano region, regional distribution centre was eliminated in favor of transit points which held zero

Advantages for Cross docking: * Cost saving in terms of infrastructure cost of regional warehouses
and their maintenance. * Lesser amounts of overall inventory to be maintained * Lesser labor
requirements due to closure of regional warehouses * Effect of bullwhip is lowered due to
elimination of regional warehouses.
Disadvantages for Cross docking: * Because the regional warehouses will be eliminated, the
capacity storage of the central warehouses should be expanded to meet the requirements of the
extra Cycle inventory. * Intensive planning of daily shipment should be done (calculation of
exact amount of goods to be shipped and arrangement of the goods) * Due to intensive planning,
more skilled administration staff would be required. * If the customer does not order before
3pm, the delivery of the product would happen only after the second day. This can hamper
customer satisfaction. * Since no inventory is maintained at near by locations, the goods will
have to be fetched from central warehouse thereby increasing lead time. * Demand variability is
not easily supported by employing Transit Point methodology. If there is an urgent demand for
goods in excess of truckload capacity then it can lead to huge additional cost. * If any of the
vehicles break down it could lead to huge delays and pile up of demand. Merloni needs to keep
some extra vehicles as a backup, which needs to

Identity In To Kill A Mockingbird
Who are you? What/ Who has the authority to formalize who you are? Does the exterior
appearance you re portrayed as, match the truth that may possibly be hiding just beneath? In the
globally acknowledged novel To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee included the character of
Mayella Ewell to convey the idea that not always does society dictate one s true identity. The
Novel has been set in the South, in the 1930s, causing many major conflicts to easily occur
between races, genders and society as an entirety. Afterall, Jim crow laws were in place, racism
was thriving, gender roles were extremely apparent and societal ranking was far more accepted than

what had taken place here. Yet not only was the filthiness of the Ewell family portrayed on this

Erysipelas or St. Anthony s Fire and Aetiology are Painful...
Description
Erysipelas, also referred to as St. Anthony s fire, is a rapid bacterial skin infection involves the
dermis and hypodermis of the skin that result with severe pain and systemic symptoms (Kilbum,
Featherstone, Higgins Brindle, 2010). As O Connor Paauw (2010) described, it is presented mostly
with shiny and erythematous plaque, well demarcated and indurated.
Erysipelas commonly occurred in the legs, 90% of the cases, then involves in the face which have a
characteristic butterfly distribution on both cheeks and nose follows by arms and thighs
(Bonnetblanc Bedane, 2003; Linder, Johansson, Thulin, Hertzen, Morgelin, Christensson,

The typical symptoms are include,
пЃ¬fever, chills and shaking
пЃ¬malaise
пЃ¬red, firm, swollen skin
пЃ¬marked lesion with raised border or blisters
пЃ¬burning pain, pruritus, tenderness and sore

Streptococci, streptococcus pyogenes, is the predominant cause which group A affects mostly on
facial infections and non group A affects the lower extremity (Gunderson Martinello, 2012). These
toxins are contributing the rapid inflammation which they normally live on body surface without
causing problem, then once they penatrated via tinea pedia or eczema that causes the skin breakage

A Study On Sediment Properties
Sediment properties were measured from three surface scrapes of sediment taken at each quadrat in
Essex and Morecambe. These sediment scrapes were frozen at 20В°C for subsequent analysis. In
the laboratory, 5g of the sediment was air dried, gently crushed and passed through a 2mm sieve.
Particle size distribution of the 2 mm fraction was undertaken following Malvern Mastersizer
protocol (v1.3) (http://www.geog.cam.ac.uk/facilities/laboratories/techniques/psd.html) at the
University of Cambridge. Only one sample was taken at each of the Northern Irish sites, when this
was not possible, the Agri Food and Biosciences Institute, supplied data on sediment particle sizes.
Comparative particle size distributionindices (Logarithmic mean, standard deviation, kurtosis and
skew) were calculated according to Folk and Ward (1957) and analysed using GRADISTAT
software (Folk Ward, 1957; Blott Pye, 2001).
Particle size distribution was recorded at the site level for the Northern Irish sites, but was highly
resolved for Essex and Morecambe (three replicates per quadrat within each sites), requiring us to
standardise the data across locations. To do so, we first tested for significant differences between
the three replicate samples taken at each quadrat within each site, and upon finding no significant
differences, pooled replicates giving a quadrat mean. We then tested for significant differences in
sediment properties within each pooled quadrat at each site, which were not

Marriage Should Not Be A Sacred Thing
Marriage used to be a sacred thing; once you married someone you spend the rest of your life
with them. Even some places such as the Philippines and The Vatican City make divorce illegal.
Here in America divorces are happening every single day. This social phenomenon is considered
problematic. Almost 50% of all marriages end in divorce. When most people think of a divorce,
they think of it ending in bad terms due to infidelity; but this is not always the case. It s important
to understand what a divorce is, how it works, who it affects, the consequences, and the solution.
Divorce has become way to common; we need to reestablish the sacredness of marriageand the
importance of family.
There are two types of divorces, a no fault and an at fault. No fault divorces mean that the person
filing does not have to prove fault on their spouse. States still require a reason for divorces so the
most common reasons are there are too many differences and the marriage is not repairable. An at
fault divorce is most common and this is when a spouse is filing for divorce because of infidelity,
abuse, prison confinement, and may more reasons where the other spouse is at fault and
deteriorating the marriage. There are 5 different defenses against an at fault divorce; connivance,
condonation, recrimination, provocation, and collusion. Connivance is defense to adultery, it
suggests that the partner agreed to and/or participated in the infidelity. Condonation declares that
the other spouse knew

Customer Service And Social Media
4.1.5.Customer Service
Another significant benefit social media networks provide to companies is the opportunity to
interact with current and prospects customers. Through pages and profiles on social media,
consumers can leave their feedback quickly and directly to the organisation. Customers can also
request information and reach out to organisation for help and support. The interactive
communication fosters a trustworthy relationship between organisation and its customers.
Companies can have one on one conversation with customers to understand their need and to gather
their feedback.
The presence on social media in the form of blog, pages, and profiles allow the customer to have
interactive communication with the representative of organisation. Organisations also get a chance
to listen to their customers and not only solve their issues but to educate them about organisation
and its products or services. Feedback can be of anything such as the experience of using new or
existing product, general feedback regarding brand, complaint and suggestions regarding products
or even company website and advertising. And this in turn allows the companies to evaluate
whether they are meeting the expectation of their customers or not.
In addition to positive suggestion and feedback, companies sometime have to deal with negative
comments. Infect, negative feedback can spread more quickly on social media. Thus, while
developing a social media strategy, company should consider such

Frantz Fanon The Fact Of Blackness

affect of bodily violence. 1.Introduction In this essay, I will be analysing Frantz Fanon s writing
entitled The Fact of Blackness, Analysing the social psychological concept of self identity in
connection to the fact of being a black person. Frantz Fanon According to McCulloch (1983),
was born in 1925 at Martinique. He advanced as a medical student in Paris where he was a
psychiatrist. He was trained in one of the most radical psychiatric teaching programmes then
available (McCulloch, 1983, p. 1). Fanon wrote the book Black Skin, White Mask in 1952
when he was in Lyon University, according to Panaf (1975). In the fifth chapter of his book
Fanon wrote an essay entitled The Fact of Blackness which was in a form of a cry of a black

Social Mobility In The House On Mango Street
Can we ever truly escape the place that we come from? Many people, especially during the most
recent election, talk about upward mobility as if people can easily change their position in life,
however this is not necessarily true. Personally, I believe that upward mobility is not as easy as
people tend to believe it is. In my family, my mother and both of her sisters are well educated.
Though they all studied at prestigious private colleges, which hypothetically should have helped
them escape from the cycle of the lower middle class, only one of the three achieved social
mobility. A variety of factors pulled my mother and her younger sister back down, most
significantly, the situation they grew up in and the genderroles they continued... Show more content

Yes, Esperanza does appear to have both determination to leave her circumstances and an ability
to break gender roles not present in other women. However, both facts can be attributed to her
young age. Children usually seem to be more optimistic than adults; if Esperanza truly believes
she could leave she may seem more determined. Age may have sucked the optimism and
determination out of the other women on Mango Street as they came to understand their position
in life would not change. Furthermore, girls tend to experience more and more pressure to obey
gender roles as they approach sexual maturation. As Esperanza seems younger, her community may
not push gender roles on her as fiercely as they push gender roles on women. This could be the
reason that Esperanza can break gender roles while others cannot. Moreover, considering all the
evidence that members of the community find it nearly impossible to permanently escape Mango
Street, the evidence that Esperanza might leave is insignificant. To focus on Esperanza s potential

The use of electromagnetic waves in therapeutic applications has existed for many decades.
Nowadays, the therapies that use non ionising radiation and are available for clinical use lie on the
thermal effects of low frequency electromagnetic waves, from radio frequencies to optical

either by killing the cancerous cells or by locally and selectively enhancing the efficiency of
chemotherapeutic drugs and radiation treatment. Hyperthermia treatment elevates the tissue

However, the complexity and heterogeneity of human brain structure and mechanisms, such as
nerve stimulation, blood circulation and homeostasis, complicates the effort for predicting the
temperature rise and distribution generated by one or multiple electromagnetic sources inside the

during these procedures in order to minimise the severe side effects of elevated brain temperatures
for long durations. To this end, non invasive techniques that exhibit enhanced sensitivity and
specificity thermometric are required for spatial and real time temperature monitoring.
Nanotechnology offers enhanced localisation of treatment delivery to brain diseased sites,

Essay on Should Direct Democracy Be More Widely Used in...
Government and Politics Megan Barry
Should direct democracy be more widely used in the UK? Direct democracy is a form of
government in which all laws are created by a general vote of society. This means that political
decisions are put forward to the people as they are the ones who are going to be directly affected
by the outcome of the decision. An example of direct democracy used occasionally in society is
referendums. A referendum is a general vote by the electorate on a single political question which
has been referred to them for a direct decision. Within this essay I am going to be arguing whether
direct democracy should be used more widely by weighing up the ... Show more content on

Another argument for direct democracy being used more widely in the UK is that it prevents the
government and MPs making extremely unpopular decisions and ultimately, negatively impacting
on the general public s life. On many problems and issues it is particularly difficult for parliament to
know which way to vote, additionally with many issues that require accurate public opinion and
have considerable historical impact, for example, a constitutional change. Direct democracy not
only evades and prevents detrimental decisions for the whole country, but it also aids the
government and helps them to maintain their popularity and further circumvent an uprising or
protest. An example of this in the past is the Referendum on the changing of the voting system in
2011. In the 2011 referendum it was decided by the people that this voting change was not wanted.
Holding a referendum on this particularly issue prevented an unpopular decision that might have
been made by the government alone. This is significant because the government s popularity is
One final argument for direct democracy in the UK is that it increases the people s political
participation and engagement in current issues. When people are given the opportunity to have
their say, they are more likely to get involved in the process, thus increasing the accuracy of the
judgement. A successful and fully functional democracy relies on the involvement of the general
public and the people it will be directly

ice, snow, and sleet faster than salt, if there is anything that melts ice faster than salt. If there is
something that can melt the frozen precipitations quickly, it will benefit us. Also, melting the ice
at a faster rate will lower the rate of slips and falls even faster. Control Group Experimental Group

The central bank is an institution of the most deadly hostility existing against the Principles and
form of our Constitution. I am an Enemy to all banks discounting bills or notes for anything but
Coin. If the American People allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by
inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will
deprive the People of all their Property until their Children will wake up homeless on the continent
their Fathers conquered. (3) Jefferson knows that a national bank that printed its own money
backed by coin is the only answer.

Astrology Vs Astronomy Essay
Astronomy versus Astrology
Astronomy is a science that studies everything outside of the earth s atmosphere, such as planets,
stars, asteroids, galaxies; and the properties and relationships of those spiritual bodies. Astronomers
base their studies on research and observation. Astrology, on the other hand, is the belief that the
positioning of the stars and planets affect the way events occur on earth. If you re interested in the
solar system and the planets, other celestial objects like asteroids and comets, other galaxies and
the rest of the universe, what makes up space, and the possibility of alien life or space travel,
astronomy is the field you re considering. Astronomy is a natural science that studies celestial
objects and phenomena. It applies mathematics, physics, and chemistry, in an effort to explain the
origin of those objects and phenomena and their evolution. Objects of interest include planets,
moons, stars, galaxies, and comets; while the phenomena include supernova explosions, gamma ray
bursts, and cosmic microwave background radiation. More generally, all astronomical phenomena
that originate outside Earth s atmosphere are within the purview of astronomy. A related but
distinct subject, physical cosmology, is concerned with the study of the Universe as a whole.
Astronomy is the oldest of the natural sciences. The early civilizations in recorded history, such as
the Babylonians, Greeks, Indians, Egyptians, Nubians, Iranians, Chinese, and Maya performed

The Value Of Goodwill And Goodwill Essay
What is goodwill? Based on the information on the internet, goodwill is defined as the excess of
purchase price over the fair market value of a company s identifiable assets and liabilities.
Moreover, goodwill is reported as a non current asset on the balance sheet. But the U.S companies
are not required to amortize the record amount of goodwillsince 2001. Because the value of
goodwill is highly subjective, the accounting standard requires the goodwill to have impairment
test at least once per year in order to determine the amount of goodwill. However, when reporting
the goodwill in terms of valuation and impairment, there are some rules that people need to follow
under the US GAAP. Moreover, there are also some similarities and differences regarding valuation
and impairment of goodwill between US GAAP(Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and
IFRS(International Financial Reporting Standards). First of all, under US GAAP on ASC 805,
the value of goodwill can be recognized initially by measuring any excess of the fair value of the
acquired business over the fair value of the net identifiable assets acquired. According to the ASC
805 30 30 1 from the FASB website, it mentions that The acquirer shall recognize goodwill as of
the acquisition date, measured as the excess of (a) over (b): (a) The aggregate of the following: (1)
The consideration transferred measured in accordance with this Section, which generally requires

The Pros And Cons Of The Stamp Act, And The Tea Act
Some of the ways in which the colonists responded to British actions between 1765 and 1770 were
the Stamp Act, the stationing of British troops in Boston, the Townshend Act, and the Tea Act 33.
The Stamp Act was put in place so the colonist would pay tax on every legal paper, license,
newspaper, and almanac. The stationing of British troops in Bostonwere because the Boston and
Philadelphia both agreed to not give goods or take good from Britain until the Stamp Act was
taken away. The Townshend Act was placed a year after the Stamp Act was taken away. The
Townshend Act was almost like the Stamp act but it did not place a tax on every little thing, it was

The Intolerable Act was put in place because the King was angry that they had damaged the tea (
Britain property). In his fury he placed the Intolerable Act shutting down the Boston Harbor until
they pay for the damage they made. Economic protest was that the British soldiers did not have
any place to sleep so they would just go and sleep at colonist house. The colonist started to get mad
about the situation and started to get mad and make a mob and start attacking the other soldiers.
The Continental Army was starting to lose hope and getting a lot of setbacks in the beginning why
is that? The Continental Army was losing all to almost all of the wars between them and the British
Army. Everything changed the Christmas when the Continental Army won their battle against the

Libanus Father
On the mother s side, the difference in upbringing also played a role in the two men s attachment
toward their mothers. Both men had fathers who faced an early death. Libanius mother was quite
lenient in raising her children: My mother was a nice woman and feared the dishonesty of
guardians and the litigation which would inevitably arise with them, and so she herself set out to
be all in all to us. In general, she succeeded very well by dint of her exertions, but though she paid
out fees to schoolmasters for us, she did not have the heart to get annoyed with her sleepyhead of a
son, for she thought it was a loving mothers part never never to upset her child.
Libanius mother was hands on. In fear and suspicion of other guardians, she was the type of
woman who believed she could do things on her own. She was all in all to Libanius, which
could be read either she took on all the roles as both father and mother or she was everything her
children. Being independent, was a trait Libanius acquired from his mother. This passage from
Libanius shows that his mother was quite over protective. Which again, may have been a push
factor for Libanius who sought a life that allowed him to get away from the protection of his
mother. And her lenience, only made it easier for him to break away. Saying... Show more content

grieves for his mother and recognizes what he has lost. For during their lifetime this really was my
greatest pleasure...she rejoiced exceedingly whenever I returned to her with the sweat of my

through what she envisioned him to be that is, to settle down and stay with her, perhaps even start a
family she was supportive of whatever he made of himself. Libanius is not tied down to his mother

Bulimia and Depression Essay
Bulimia and Depression
The prevalence of eating disorders among American women has increased dramatically in the past
decade. In turn, the psychological community has expanded it s scope of research and study by
focusing more attention on eating disorders and concentrating on other extended issues related to
eating disorders. The desire to distinguish and understand a possible relationship between bulimia
nervosa and depression has become a major focus within the field. The purpose of this paper is to
introduce the reader to literature from two different journal articles on this relationship.
How Are Bulimia and Depression Possibly Related?:
Presently, there are two predominant hypotheses on the relationship between bulimia ... Show more

Cognitions manifested by bulimics include dysfunctional attributions regarding weight gain, guilt,
and self deprecating attributions centered on feeling out of control.
Schlesier, et al. (1987) state that depression:
...carries characteristic cognitive features of clinical import. Maladaptive thinking patterns related
to depressive symptomatology include negative automatic thoughts, dysfunctional attitudes, and
causal attributions.
Therefore, there are connections between these two disorders. There is a link in the relationship
between bulimia and depression. Understanding this link is essential for treatment and therapy.
Article I Bulimia and Depression: A Review of the Affective Hypothesis :
Lisa Hinz and Donald Williamson (1987) reflect on the evidence presented in past studies relating
bulimia and depression and discriminate between the idea that bulimia is an affective variant of
depression or a separate diagnostic entity often associated with depression. In their attempt to
understand the relationship, the authors point out the complications that arise in an evaluation of
studies that deal with depression and other illnesses due to the common associations made between
the two. Hinz and Williamson (1987) state that evaluation of the affective variant hypothesis is
difficult because it is well established that depression accompanies many chronic psychiatric and

Positive Effects Of Pranayama
In addition to the studies reported in this review, a few studies by psychologists have been
conducted Abroad:
Bud (1993) studied the positive and negative mood (condition of mood, emotional stage) and
mental and physical energy in 71 normal volunteers in the age group of 21 76. He used three
different methods, viz. inactivity, visualization and yogic breathing along with Pranayama. He
concluded that Pranayama increases the mental, physical energy and gives a feeling of zeal more
than the other two methods. Therefore, 30 minutes of yogic and respiratory practice has a special
strengthening effect on mental and physical experience and increases the high positive mood.
Behanan (1971) viewed that consumption of oxygen increased by 24.5 and 18.5 ... Show more

Practitioners report that the practice of Pranayama develops a steady mind, strong will power and
sound judgment, and also claim that sustained Pranayama practice extends life and enhances
perception.
Simple relaxation tools, such as deep breathing and relaxing imagery, can help calm down angry
feelings (American psychological Association, December 4, 2007). Much as with headaches and
hypertension, relaxation has generally positive effects on acute and chronic pain, although the
results are relatively modest (Taylor, 1991). Nonetheless, relaxation and meditation almost always
form part of a more comprehensive pain management program.
One of the more successful comprehensive treatments for chronic pain has been originated by
Clare Philips (Philips, 1987). This program contains many of the same components found in
general stress reduction programs such as relaxation and cognitive therapy focused on developing
new approaches and attitudes toward pain. After a 9 week treatment program for chronic pain,
12.6% of the treatment groups were entirely free of pain, 41.8% were much improved, and 38%
were improved. Only 8% were in need of further treatment. Also pain intensity gradually decreased

today s agriculture. The Han Dynasty ruled from 206 BC 220 AD. It was the second imperial
dynasty of china. The Han Dynasty started off by ruling a strong decentralized government, but it
began to fall. Emperor Xian, was defeated by the allied forces of Sun Quan and Liu Bei. Cao Cao
tried to reunite them but once the Huns noticed that China was in distress, they invaded. The Han
dynasty did not have enough warfare to fight back. Although, they did try to fight back, they failed

How Does Beethoven Reflect The Heroism Of The Middle Period
Written in 1803, Beethoven s 9th violin sonata probably represent one of the most demanding
pieces written for piano and violin, and perfectly reflect Beethoven s heroism of the middle period.
Its unusual length, form, emotional and technical scope makes it a very challenging piece for both
performers.
First movement starts with slow introduction in violin part, followed with the same theme in piano
part. For this period of time it was more usual that piano was opening the movement/s with the
thematic material, so this Beethoven s change makes the piece even more unique. Introduction is
followed by the energetic and almost furious Presto section, which takes the central part of the first
movement. Presto section is bringing more emotional

Anabolic Steroid
Testosterone is used as a basic standard in which all other anabolic steroids are measured. Each
anabolic steroid has its own anabolic and androgenic value. These values significantly explain the
steroid and help determine the possible combination.
Anabolic steroids have anabolic and androgenic effects in humans. The anabolic properties of
anabolic steroids are responsible for the growth of muscles and tissues. The androgen side promotes
masking effects such as deepening of the voice and increasing body and facial hair. The anabolic
effects of steroids are what athletes and bodybuilders seek to avoid androgenic effects.
In the early years of anabolic steroid development, there was no standardized test method for
different steroids or the method of measuring their strength. Hershberger Assay was introduced in
1960 to solve this problem. After administration of the steroid test, various parts of the body and
muscles were analyzed in the rat. Since testosterone was considered the standard for testing, the
tissue would be compared to the tissue exposed to testosterone. Levator is not the muscle in rats
that control the movement of the skin. The muscles were analyzed after the rat had a steroid.

Hershberg analysis was the first formal test method used and would determine whether the steroid
would be worthy of further testing or if the test had ended. Many early developed steroids had an
androgenic and anabolic high value of zero. These steroids would be classified as androgenic
steroids and were never developed for commercial

  • 2. Intellectual Property ( Ip ) Is Everywhere Intellectual Property (IP) is everywhere. IP is inventions. IP is literary and artistic works. IP is designs or symbols. IP is names and images used in commerce. Almost everything is IP. These things can be protected by patent, copyright, service mark, or trademark. These topics are very complicated; the consolidated version of US patentlaws and rules is over 200 pages long. While there are many good things about IP protection, there are also many unnecessary problems with it that should be changed. Some of these problems include IP education, and the lack of it, the time frame that these protections span, and the major lack of solid international laws. In most grade schools and high schools, the only IP protection education is your English teachers telling you not to plagiarize copyrighted works, or a business class may go into it a little. The majority of patent and copyrighteducation is in law schools but it is important to all of us, even if we don t want to go into law, that we know these laws. Everybody is affected by IP, everybody creates IP, and everybody is a copyright holder. Many people don t know that any original work is copyrighted from the moment it is created in a tangible space, such as paper, film, or silicon chip, no registration necessary. Copyrightable works include literary works, musical compositions, films, software programs, or paintings. Patents cover inventions, ideas, designs, and compositions of matter. To get a patent, you must first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Asthma Is A Chronic Lung Disease Asthma, as defined by the NIH, is a chronic lung disease that inflames and narrows the airways. Asthma causes recurring periods of wheezing (a whistling sound when you breathe), chest tightness, shortness of breath, and coughing. (National Institutes of Health, National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute [NHLBI], 2015). There are risk factors that may predispose a child to developing asthma, which include having allergies, eczema, and/or having parents who have asthma. Asthma is not a disease that is preventable. (NHLBI, 2015). The risk or likelihood that someone would have asthma is based on the biological makeup of the individual that would predispose them to the disease, rather than behavioral, environmental, or even social factors.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (CDC, 2015). Prevention of asthma is not the focus of interventions since it is not a preventable disease, but rather the focus is to intervene with the management of the disease. There are some protective factors that can be employed so that the occurrence of asthma attacks is reduced, or at least, well managed. Once someone has been identified as having asthma, the goal is to manage it well so that there are as few asthma attacks as possible. In 2008, the National Asthma Control Initiative (NACI) was created. The goal of creating the NACI is to have the ability to work with different partners throughout the community to successfully put asthma guidelines into action beginning with the home and moving out into the community, which may include schools, health care settings, as well as other parts of the community. (National Asthma Control Initiative [NACI], 2011). Primary interventions focus on preventing the disease before it occurs. Because asthma is not a preventable disease, the evidenced based interventions in place are more representative of interventions at secondary and tertiary levels than primary. Community health nursing health promotion interventions for asthma at the secondary level are largely aimed at diagnosing those with asthma and managing the disease. The first step of asthma intervention is having it diagnosed. Usually either the primary care provider diagnoses the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Michelangelo s Impact On Art Michelangelo Buonarroti is one of the most famous sculptors, painters, architects, and poets during the high renaissance. He is mostly known for his sculpture of David and his fresco (plaster) painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo lived a very intriguing life and had a huge impact on art as we see it today. Michelangelowas viewed as a patron of the Mannerism movement. His work of art conveyed an alternate style to this era. What used to be a more moderate style turned into a more humanistic style in which Michelangelo regularly delineated with nudity. During Michelangelo s life, the western world experienced what was maybe the most surprising time of change since the decrease of the Roman Empire. The Renaissance saw... The people Michelangelo meet there heavily influenced him and his many ideas about his art. (Sateren, Shelly. Michelangelo pg9) He studied human anatomy; he learned how the body part fit together. He was also allowed to steady dead bodies at the hospital, where then he learned where the muscles and veins are located, which helped him create lifelike statues. In 1492, Lorenzo de Medici died. Michelangelo then decided to leave Florence shortly after the lost. Many People had heard of him and his skills. Michelangelo was invited to Rome to work, where there he was hired to carve a statue of the Greek god of wine, Bacchus. A church official saw his amazing work and then hired him to carve a pieta . His work in Rome had made him famous; many people wanted Michelangelo to do work for them. In 1501 he decided to return to Florence, city officials hired him to carve a statue that a previous sculptor never finished. The previous sculptor was working on carving a large Goliath. But Michelangelo decided to carve a large David. Around that time many artist sculpted images of David after he killed the Goliath, but Michelangelo decided to sculpt David before the fight. • 5. Lord Of The Flies Lomb Song Analysis This song depicts how the boys felt when they first arrived at the island. They saw that there were no adults and were excited about all the fun they were planning to have together and without parental supervision. The song paints an island in a positive light saying that it s a paradise, just like the boy s original fantasies. Welcome to the Jungle Guns and Roses This song relates to Lord of the Flies by showing how the boys slowly became more and more like animals. In the beginning, things were great. The boys had fun, swam, and ate fruit under Ralph s leadership. But as Jack s obsession with hunting became unmanageable and he replaced himself as the new leader of the new tribe , the boys became more and more savage. This chaos and destructive behavior is modeled in Welcome to the Jungle by lyrics such as welcome to the jungle, it gets worse here everyday, Ya learn to act like an animal. Mob song Beauty and the Beast The mob song from the movie Beauty and the Beast is very similar to the boys ritualistic hunting dance. They both have a leader Gaston/Jack who urge on the mob to kill the beast. Gaston and Jack understand that fear can perpetuate a mob mentality that is easily controlled through a form of frightened excitement and through the absence of light. That is why both Simon and Piggy both died at the hand of the tribe. The Mob Song uses imagery of darkness and shadow, much like the novel and both a fueled by a frenzied excitement from the mobs. Ralph A character Sketch One of the main characters in Lord of the Flies, Ralph is one of the oldest bigguns on the island. His good looks and confident demeanor quickly makes him the obvious leader to the boys. Although he lacks Piggy s apparent intelligence, Ralph is relatively logical and responsible, with sound judgment and a firm moral scale. But, like the other boys, he can fall into the same entraping instincts that affect the other boys, as demonstrated by his part Simon s murder. Regardless, Ralph remains the most civilized character throughout the novel, save for Piggy. At the end of the novel, it was somewhat tragic because Ralph finally understands that evil lives inside of all the boys. This leaves him depressed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Knowing many Americans were lost in the wake of this disaster, Reagan sympathizes by using pathos in multiple forms. One example is where Reagan says, But we feel the loss, and we re thinking about you so very much (Reagan 3). His use of the word we helps the audience unite and mourn together as a country. When he states, we feel the loss (Reagan 3), it makes those who feel alone feel comforted and feel like they are included. Reagan later says, We will never forget them, nor the last time we saw them (Reagan 8). This directly puts thoughts of the crew into the minds of the audience in a positive and remembering fashion. Reagan leaves the emotions of the audience in a mournful but stable state by putting thoughts of the crew in their minds. Reagan is also able to connect with the audience by adding specific details, making him seem more authentic. Right from the start Reagan uses ethos when he says, Nancy and I are pained to the core by the tragedy of the Shuttle Challenger (Reagan 1). Using his wife s first name makes it seem more authentic by personalizing the situation to his own life. Significance Of Trinidad And Tobago Carnival Question: Examine the economic, social and cultural significance of the Trinidad and Tobago Carnival (20th century to present) Trinidad and Tobago s carnival is an annual celebration that is held on the Monday and Tuesday before the Lent season of fasting , which is celebrated by the Roman Catholic religion. • 11. The Conceptual Framework Of Financial Reporting By... Introduction The Objective of the Conceptual framework project is to improve financial reporting by providing a more complete, clear and update set of concepts (IFRS.org). Although the current framework has been crucial in to the IASB when developing and revising IFRS s there have been a few problems. There are areas that are uncovered, limited guidance and out of date areas. In July 2013 the IASB issued a discussion paper which is designed to explore potential changes to the IASB c conceptual framework and the possibility of a revised framework. The Conceptual Framework sets out the concepts that underlie the preparation and presentation of financial statements (JULY 2013). This discussion document is the first step to a revised... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reference to expected flow of economic benefits causes confusion between the resource and obligation itself and the inflow or outflows of economic benefits. There are two arguments that the Discussion Paper 2013 addresses. The first is that the expected part of the definition implies that there is some sort of level of probability required. This can lead to unfaithful representations in practice due to assets and liabilities possibly not being recognised and reported in full. The recognition criteria and guidance sheds light on this dilemma. The second argument was that the explicit reference to the flows of economic benefits blurs the distinction between resource and obligation and the resulting flows of economic benefits. The new definition is more specific and allows users to interpret the definition and identify assets easier. The reference to economic benefits has been moved to the new definition of economic resource. DP 2013 states this makes the definition more concise and focused and shows coherently the parallel between the definition of an asset and liability (DP 2013). The discussion document states that it will add the term present to the asset definition and retain it in liability in order to show that the their should be control or obligation by reporting date and to emphasis the parallel between asset and liability. • 12. Charles Schaeffer And Friedrich Nietzsche Essay Introduction Born nearly 70 years apart from each other, Francis Schaeffer and Friedrich Nietzsche were two very important figures in creating the modern philosophy. Two different men that studied two different parts of philosophy. Because of their differences, most are unable to recognize their many similarities. Each of the men had the things they studied, but the basis of their theories were almost identical. Nietzsche One of the commendable influential philosophers in the history of ideas and a gifted stylist in his native German, Friedrich Nietzsche undertook a radical re evaluation of established ideas and critiqued moral values during his career. One of Nietzsche s primary studies was on the problem of morality. However, he seems to contradict himself on the matter of values. Tansesi claims it is because of the different definitions of value values in a descriptive sense as that which is thought to be of value by an individual or by the members of a group, and values in a normative sense as that which is objectively of value (652). Because of Nietzsche s committed denial of any moral values, it would seem impossible to attribute him to him a commitment to the existence of any values in the normative sense (652). In Thus Spake Zarathustra, he claims that to value is to create, and that it is only through valuing that there is value. In the same section it is also claimed that men did not discover values, nor were they given by a god; rather, human beings ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Compare And Contrast Capitalism And Capitalism The issue I intend to research is a critical evaluation of capitalism and free markets versus socialism and Keynesian economics. In the twentieth century every human civilization was shaken not just by the aftermath of a worldwide war, but by a political rift without equal. This last concerns the best possible part and elements of government a subject of critical significance the welfare of all humankind. No other worldwide issue has ever created so profound and troublesome rupture in popular supposition at high cost to human life. The issue is, figuratively, regardless of whether an individual possesses himself and the rewards for his labor and mind or whether he is claimed by the collective and is born accordingly obligated. In other words, regardless of whether the collective or government should take the chief part in the exercises of the group and control with omnipotent powers the developments and welfare of the individuals, or whether it might stand separated from the battle, mediating upon its issues, ensuring reasonable equity to all, and safeguarding the tenets of fair play. That is to say, whether the administration should take upon itself the power and elements of the old fashioned slave proprietor, or should leave the society free to get themselves straightened out into entrepreneur and worker, while the collective government goes about as the judge, ready in the communal interest to exert physical and financial force against the individual. Although several studies have been completed that question his paternal lineage, he is believed to be the son of a doctor named Alonso Chirino and MarГa de Valera and was of noble lineage or minor nobility, which made it easier for him to enter Juan II s Court (Contreras 27). Valera arrives at Juan II s Court at about the age of fifteen where he becomes Juan II s and later Enrique IV s doncel; this was around the time that Juan II first banished ГЃlvaro from Court in 1427. To be sure, Valera demonstrates the importance of a learned knight. Of the three writers, he stands out by relaying the importance of defining true nobility in a most direct manner. Essay on The All American Girls Professional Baseball League The All American Girls Professional Baseball League Before we told our daughters that they could be anyone, or anything they wanted to be, we told them that they could only be what was acceptable for women to be, and that they could only do things that were considered ladylike. It was at this time, when the nation was frenzied with the business of war, that the women of the All American Girls Professional BaseballLeague decided that they could do and be whatever it was that they chose. These women broke free of the limitations that their family and society had set for them, and publicly broke into what had been an exclusively male sport up until that time. Wrigley, president of the Wrigley chewing gum company, and owner of the Chicago Cubs National League baseball team. Wrigley was concerned with the future of baseball. The major leagues had already lost more than half of their players to the military. The minor leagues were even harder hit. By the start of the 1943 season, more than 3,000 minor leaguers had joined the service or the war effort. Only nine of the nations 26 minor leagues had enough men left to play. Aside from this reason, there was concern over the continuation of baseball by several public figures, including President Roosevelt. It was thought that because of the long hours and demanding work of the war effort that it was important for the American people to have a way to blow off steam. The streamlining was because of many carriers going bankrupt in the last decade, a situation that was attributed to generous base pay rates and work rules negotiated by the unions as a result of previous good profits. The current boom is also tempered by fractious labor relations between the airlines and staff. Delta Airlines suffered from their pilots picketing in 2016. • 25. Art Analysis Of Norman Rockwell s Breaking Home Ties The painting Breaking Home Ties was painted by Norman Rockwell in 1954. I chose this piece of artwork specifically because it is the type of artwork that I can relate to as artwork. Norman Rockwell is an artist that I grew up knowing his name through the type of artwork he created. Rockwell s paintings were influenced a lot by his own familyupbringing. The still art that he created is known for not being modern art but rather people of the idealized America, something that many people felt was misleading, an era of depression and change, but also artwork that was the easiest to view because it was practical. The setting appears to be at a rundown railway station. Usually country stations like this do not see many stops from people coming and going. The railing that is barely visible at the bottom of the picture reassures that is indeed a train station. The aged truck that the boy and his father are perched on while waiting, was nothing fancy and served its purpose for transportation. More than likely this truck has been in the family awhile and is considered an heirloom being handed down. The weathered flooring that lay to the tracks could withstand some replacement, but that would probably not be logical with the little business that runs through this part of the countryside. Rockwell s painting shows a man with his son, possibly leaving for college, which is something that is not a common thing for country folk. If time is taken to analyze the painting, although it appears practical, many ideas can come from the simplicity of it. The father and son appear to be of a blue collar, middle class family. The importance of this, is the timing of the painting. Rockwell painted this picture directly after America had been through an era of depression. A time when family and togetherness was amidst the important things in life. Rockwell liked to paint the real picture of humanity through his own eyes, and many times relating to his viewers in that same way. Regardless of the reason, that we may never all agree on, the image he created for our imaginations focused a father and son parting ways. Even some places such as the Philippines and The Vatican City make divorce illegal. Here in America divorces are happening every single day. This social phenomenon is considered problematic. Almost 50% of all marriages end in divorce. When most people think of a divorce, they think of it ending in bad terms due to infidelity; but this is not always the case. It s important to understand what a divorce is, how it works, who it affects, the consequences, and the solution. Direct democracy is a form of government in which all laws are created by a general vote of society. This means that political decisions are put forward to the people as they are the ones who are going to be directly affected by the outcome of the decision. An example of direct democracy used occasionally in society is referendums. On many problems and issues it is particularly difficult for parliament to know which way to vote, additionally with many issues that require accurate public opinion and have considerable historical impact, for example, a constitutional change. Direct democracy not only evades and prevents detrimental decisions for the whole country, but it also aids the government and helps them to maintain their popularity and further circumvent an uprising or protest. An example of this in the past is the Referendum on the changing of the voting system in 2011. In the 2011 referendum it was decided by the people that this voting change was not wanted. Holding a referendum on this particularly issue prevented an unpopular decision that might have been made by the government alone. These values significantly explain the steroid and help determine the possible combination. Anabolic steroids have anabolic and androgenic effects in humans. The anabolic properties of anabolic steroids are responsible for the growth of muscles and tissues. The androgen side promotes masking effects such as deepening of the voice and increasing body and facial hair. The anabolic effects of steroids are what athletes and bodybuilders seek to avoid androgenic effects. In the early years of anabolic steroid development, there was no standardized test method for different steroids or the method of measuring their strength. Hershberger Assay was introduced in 1960 to solve this problem. After administration of the steroid test, various parts of the body and muscles were analyzed in the rat.
