Globe Theater
Summary(475) The Globe Theater was established by Shakespeare s acting company, Lord
Chamberlain s Men, in 1599. It was composed of 5 brilliant actors: Augustine Phillips, Will Kempe,
Thomas Pope, John Heminge, and William Shakespeare. Shakespeare s wealth and career
developed in this theater, which showed some of his plays like Henry VII. A funny incident that
occurred during the showing of this play on June 29, 1613 was that a fireball special effect was
miss shot and hit the theater, sending it to flames. The theater was quickly rebuilt within 2 years
and started showing plays to the citizens once again. The Globe Theater was a hexagonal structure

It could have had an emphasis on social class and identity. Religious reasons could also play a
major role in deciding styles for clothing. Generally men of this period wore heavily puffed
clothing of a silk or thick cotton material. These also had the benefits of warming one up in a
cold winter day. Layers were used in outfits to create a puffing image. The outfit would usually
be completed with a fur, leather, or velvet hat. Because of Spain s growing empire, the influence
from this region brought over a variety clothing styles. It seems that generally people back then
all wore thick layers even in hot weather. Outfits were very structured and rigid, possibly due to
preserving a straight back for great posture and manners. Many accessories were added to
increase one s image and social stature. Usually, outfits included a black color. This is the first
time that black is introduced into clothing. Black clothes would have the effect of making one
seem sleeker in figure and it would complement many different colors of inside layers or
accessories. Black has the great effect of highlighting colors on top of the mono color surface.
People back then could have worn this color to show off their power by emphasizing the silver
or gold jewelry. In this period of time, slimmer shoe designs were introduced for men. They
would occasionally have ribbon decor on them in a puffing format. This made walking or doing
daily activities easier because the shoes were more comfortable. Codpieces also became popular
in men s fashion of this time. In women s fashion, dresses were more popular. Like in many
older civilizations, very rigid and structures dresses were used. These were basically cases for
humans to help them keep a good posture and figure. The insides of the dresses would be lined
with wire to restrict the woman s figure and squish and mold the body into a certain hourglass
shape. The torso would be

Being A Palliative Care Nurse
Palliative Care
Throughout this course, I have learned new information and refreshed myself on old
information. I was also able to connect old information with caring for individuals going
through palliative or end of life care. Being a palliative care nurse can be a busy and stressful
job. The nurse needs to be fully educated on many different areas to be able to provide the best
possible care for the patients and their families. A few of the topics that we discussed were the role
of the palliative care nurse, cultural competency, pain control of those in palliative care,
communication strategies, and legal and ethical issues that may occur during the end of one s life.
Role of Professional Nurse in Palliative Care
Nurses of all areas have many different roles and responsibilities. As a palliative care nurse, their
roles can include being a consultant, educator, role model, and mentor (Matzo Sherman, 2015, p.
13). In the video Lessons On Living From The Dying An Interview With A Palliative Care Nurse
On Kirsty TV (2013), the nurse showed that it is important to educate the patient and their family,
be available for the patient in many forms such as an active listener, a shoulder to cry on, etc,
involve the family in the healthcare and the decisions that are being made, provide a calm
environment and a positive atmosphere (kick the negativity out the door immediately), and most
importantly be there with the patient during this time. Caring for these patients and

King Kong Comparison
The original King Kong (1933) was fairly different from the new 2005 version. In the new
version, Kong was much more humanized. For example, in the end when Kong falls off of the
building and dies, it is heartbreaking. But in the original, there is a sense of relief when Kong
finally dies, after terrorizing New York City and especially Ann. Kong and Ann share a more
profound bond in the newer film. That is shown when Kong is finished fighting the three
Tyrannosaurus Rex, she willfully goes with him, after he saves her. Also, towards the end you see
Kong and Ann having fun playing on the ice back in New York. Ann wasn t afraid of Kong in the
remake. One of the biggest differences between the 2005 and the 1933 versions were the characters.
Ann, in the newer King Kongmovie, had much more character. We were able to see the back story
of her dancing career and how talented she was. Also, Carl Denhamwas vastly different. In the
original movie he was depicted as this great movie maker, but in the newer movie he is
characterized as a sleazy guy; overall, he isn t a very good person. For example, he trapped Driscoll
on the boat after he refused to write the rest of the script before they left. Jack Driscoll, in the 2005

In both movies Kong had to save Ann from dinosaurs. It showed that in both of the films, he
cared about her enough to get hurt by the dinosaurs. Also, in both the 1933 and the 2005
versions Kong snaps a Tyrannosaurus Rex s jaw and opens and closes it to make sure it s dead.
One of the biggest similarities were the scenes at the very end when Kong was on the top of the
Empire State Building. It had the point of view from the planes. And, after he was shot and fell
off people gathered around his corpse. Reporters were taking pictures and Carl Denham shows up.
Someone said that it was the airplanes that killed Kong, but Denham said: Oh, no, it wasn t the

Mental illness is an issue affecting over 300 million people worldwide with numbers steadily
climbing annually regardless of increased efforts to create awareness. If left untreated, disorders
such as depression and anxiety could affect the sufferer to the extent where they may decide to
take their own life. Despite this alarming reality, stigmas and prejudices around people affected by
these disorders remain embedded within the larger whole of society. My decision to use this topic
as the subject of my design stems from my personal history with mental illness and the influence it
exercises on my daily life. Awareness around this issue is still heavily marked with stigma in spite

Portrait Of An Elephant Descriptive Essay
On the upper left side of the picture frame, the words Maesa Elephant Camp, Chiangmai Thailand
are written in both English and Thai. Across from the words a small elephant, hand carved from
wood, has been attached to the corner. Its trunk is raised above its head, with the mouth open in a
soundless trumpet. Across the bottom of the picture frame We love elephantshas been printed. The
frame is made from a rough, dried paper with bits of grass, and is broken into two colors. The top
half is sandy colored, while the bottom is a light chocolate brown.
In the picture are two white girls. Best friends. One, Australian, is blond with blue eyes. The other,
American, is a brunette with brown eyes. And across their sunburnt faces, a smile reaches from ear
to ear. They sit together in a wooden bench that s laced onto an elephant s back. It s a small
elephant. A female just under 8ft. If you were to stand up, you would just reach the tip of its ear.
The elephant s body is a light grey with splotches of tan on the trunk and ears, creating a bleached
look. A Thai man, one of the elephant guides, sits perched on top of the elephant s neck, his skin
contrasting with the rich cobalt blue shirt he s wearing. Upon his head is a woven reed, safari like,
hat, and he grips tightly to a long bamboo cane. Behind us, a rising hill sits, covered with vegetation
so lush, the humidity seems to radiate off the picture.
I run my fingertips over the rough edges of the frame and smile at the picture of my friend Hannah
and I. It had been photographed in Thailand when our youth conference group had taken a trip
down to an Asian elephant sanctuary camp. And this leads me to a realization. The photographer of
the photo had shot it only moments before I found out where the line between exciting and
dangerous really stood.
The ride down to the elephant camp couldn t have been worse. Eight of us had each been packed
into a songthaew a very small bus like vehicle facing each other. Humid air clung to my body
like wet clothes; the pungent odor of body sweat clogging my lungs. Outside, the scenery rushed
past me in a blur of color. By the time we flew around a curve so sharp it almost caused me to
project my morning s breakfast into the lap of

Public Transportation And New Developments
Public Transportation and New Developments
INTRODUCTION
Public transportation is the backbone of many large cities in the country but it seems the system
of transit in cities on the east coast and the west coast are far more efficient and well organized
than in the mid west. For example in Columbus, Ohio there has been deterioration in the public
transit system. The area which COTA covers is the greater Columbus metropolitan area which
includes the whole of Franklin County and parts of Union, Delaware, Fairfield and Licking
Counties. Its main role is to provide public transit service for the local population and take them
from one place to another safely. But it seems COTA does not involve women passengers in their
discussions for consensus building on new routes and redevelopment of the routes.
In October 2013, the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) Hired independent experts to review
and evaluate the entire bus network. In March to June 2014 COTA received public input through
ten public meetings, an online survey and focus groups. Between September 2014 and December
2014 a new proposed bus network completed was based on public feedback, and the COTA Board
of Trustees accepted final report and adopted framework for future implementation. In January 2015
COTA began Implementation of Transit System Redesign (TSR), which will run through
September 2017 with most major changes occurring in May 2017.
This will include hosting four public comment meetings, review public

The reason why we chose Augustus/Octavian for our hero and is A hero is because he made

happened in the Mongolian borders), if they haven t had the battle then Pearl Harbor would ve

1930s, Stalin gained power and Japan grew worried that their submarines could attack Japan s

when the russians killed, wounded sixty three percent of Japan s soldiers. After that the Japanese

Difference Between Classical Conditioning And Operant...
According to Woolfolk (2005), learning is a process which causes permanent changes in
knowledge and behavior through experience. Learning is a key for every child to understand what
is going on around them and how should they react to that stimuli. It involves the use of cognitive
skills to interpret those signals and analyse them accordingly. Defecation or lesion in cognitive sites
may cause mental retardation or learning problems to them, thus, their mental maturity may be lag
behind their current age. The consequence is, they maybe little bit clumsy to understand certain
orders or command given by his or her parents. Conditioning is a primary step for every child to
learn. Morris and Maisto (2005) stated that, the well defined stimuli which may cause the
acquisition of specific pattern of behavior is what conditioning means. It is composed of two types,
Classical Conditioning and Operant Conditioning. Classical Conditioning which is first inspired by

In a Leadership Seminar this week, Mr. Skinner learned of the new Agile Methodology for

Immediately feeling that this was the answer to the problems within his organization, Mr. Skinner

the new Agile Methodology emphasize breaking up the traditional long term software development

Is it possible for a loving wife that is six months pregnant to love her husband with all her heart,
but then moments later is found to be the wife that murders her husband? Well, Mary Maloney, a

Puritanical Deception (1000) Emigrating from the Old World to purify the Church of England, the
Puritan society was one of very strict religious beliefs. Believing in living plainly, the Puritans
denounced those who went against their ways. They even excoriated fellow members of their
community if a sin was bound to ones name. One sin in particular, adultery, was seen as a
contravention to the covenant that the Puritans had established with God. Church leaders believed
that unless the sinners were chastised, God would punish the whole community for a sin of such a
magnitude. Despite having a sought out system of punishment for sinners, the tougher task for
these leaders was to figure out who in fact was a sinner, as some did not confess. Those who did
not confess or who had not been caught would behave hypocritically in order to preserve their
reputation and avoid punishment. In both Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter and Arthur
Miller s The Crucible, the repercussions of committing adultery are exhibited through characters in
two different puritanical societies. Arthur Dimmesdale, Hester Prynne, John Proctor, and Abigail
Williams are all victims to this. Despite living in sincere societies, these characters behave
hypocritically in order to hide a concealed truth, resulting in internal ignominy, until they ultimately
confess.

narrated by a 19 year old female who was recruited into the industry at age 14. This article is very
effective in appealing to Pathos and Ethos. CNN used Jada smith s celebrity fame to help build
its creditability. Another way that CNN built its creditability by putting the personal story of a

The Characteristics Of Criminal Profiling
Criminal profiling is the analysis of a person s psychological and behavioral characteristics; in this
process they predict their capabilities in a certain sphere and identify a particular subgroup of
people. This has led us to analyze whether criminal profiling is a useful law enforcement tool or
not, but over the years many studies have shown the great success criminal profiling has produced.
The act of criminal profiling is where law enforcement agents look for a subgroup of people s
background to analyze what may happen next. In this process law enforcement agents look for the
possible antecedents the group of people may have. With this information they can figure out the
how they created the plan of the crime and where they were before they committed the act. Once
they re done with figuring out their background information they can move onto a more deep
explanation of the pattern which all the events occured. This process is called, the Geographic
Approach ; which is the process where they look for the location of the crime scene. While doing
this process the agents also look for the time the scene was made and while doing this the can
also look for more offenses to add to the crime. This means that while they research more deeply,
they can find more crimes to add in court for the subgroup of people they re trying to gain more
information from or even to see what illegal acts they committed during the crime scene.

Potsdam Conference
Potsdam Conference
June, 1945

the Allied leaders agreed to meet at Potsdam during the summer to continue discussions that had

The Communist Chinese promised to enter the war if UN forces didn t stop. The Chinese
intervention caught the UN by surprise. For the next few years, the lines of control shifted, Seoul
being captured and recaptured several times over. Finally a stalemate was reached, with few big

Peace talks commenced at the village of Panmunjon and eventually concluded on July 27, 1953,
with the line of control barely changed from its original position on the 38th Parallel, now being
demarcated by the Korean Demilitarized Zone. Despite a cease fire being declared, North and

policies of the Soviet Union. In addition to the iron curtain that had descended across Eastern
Europe, Churchill mentioned communist fifth columns that were operating throughout western and
southern Europe. Churchill advised that in dealing with the Soviets there was nothing which they

Comparing Crime And Punishment By Albert Camus
Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky and The Stranger by Albert Camus both explore
changes in a man as he goes through stages of his life, including committing a crime. These authors
explore what defines a man; the crimes he commits and the punishments that result take their toll on
him. What determines their decency? Dostoevsky and Camus pour their own histories into their
work to examine the souls of mankind, and find that love is the deciding factor in a man s
morality and gives him his source of life.
In Crime and Punishment, Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov is the protagonist. He believes there

The Notorious Jumping Frog Of Poker Flat Compare And Contrast
The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calaveras County vs. The Outcasts of poker Flat
Mark Twain s story, The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calaveras County, and Bret Harte s short
story, The Outcasts of Poker Flat is both works in the Western genre and portrays culture in the
West. However, both stories being similar in setting, the two stories are still very different.
Both of the stories the Notorious Jumping Frog of Calaveras County and the Outcast of poker Flat
took place in early 1800s and in a gold mining town. Jim Smiley a character of the story Notorious
Jumping Frog of Calaveras County is addicted to gambling. He would just about bet on anything.

One of the examples of Twain s exaggeration is when Wheeler describes Smiley. He says that he
would bet on anything, if he bet on how far a bug would go, he would follow that bug to
Mexico. This gives the story a very humorous tone. In this story a feeling of regionalism is seen
too because Smiley finds pride in his frog being the best in his area. Whereas Harte does not use
humor as his main element to present the West, instead he uses comic relief. In Harte s story, the
citizens of Poker Flat mining camp have decided to rid the county of trouble makers, and exile a
gambler Mr. John Oakhurst, prostitutes the Duchess and the Mother Shipton, and a drunken thief
Uncle Billy. The exiles must find shelter and head for the next camp, Sandy Bar which is located
further into the mountains. Sandy Bar is a day journey and the banished have very few Supplies,
plus it is winter, and snow is expected. Harte chooses to use sarcastic narrative to emphasize the
direness of the group s situation, plus, to emphasize the lack of the group s propriety and common
sense. One example of Harte s humorous, sarcastic narrative is the line, Mr. Oakhurst seldom
troubled himself with sentiment, still less with propriety; but he had a vague idea that the situation
was not fortunate. Another example would be, but they were furnished with liquor, which in this

Caroline showed priestly values because of her work towards restoring the balance. She did this

order the women to remain downstairs while the men investigate, thereby highlighting the women s

Eliot depicts Prufrock s personal reminiscence, Prufrock notes his decisions and revisions and
further revisions, which stand as the protagonist s fundamental remembrances as important choices
inscribing his tabula rosa and formulating his essence. Additionally, Eliot presents his meager man
choosing to avoid choice, which ironically reflects a profound choice; clearly, Prufrock chooses
indecision and, thereby, molds his psychologically painful and hesitant essence. However, a
dichotomy does exist. Perhaps, Eliot rejects Sartre s position you are the sole author of your
own existence since Eliot depicts vacuous, pseudo intellectual women who talk shallowly of
Michelangelo, rather than using the powerful freedom to choose and self define. However, this
perspective rings erroneous since the women, much like Camus Sisyphean understanding, own

Cantor, and inflexible religious laws squeeze my future s trajectory into a narrow, straight path,

DNA Vs. Epigenetic Synthesis
For years, scientists believed DNA, deoxyribonucleic acid, was the end all be all: a mould for our
cells to be created from. Which does not sound far fetched since DNA contains all of the
information needed for replication, differentiation, growth, and development, in addition to the
countless cellular fates, as described in Waddington s landscape. Instead, DNAis a guide for our
cells, and Epigenetics is the tool that coerces them into their final cellular form. The Epigenetics
Revolution: How Modern Biology Is Rewriting Our Understanding of Genetics, Disease, and
Inheritance written by Nessa Carey, outlines the process of DNA versus Epigenetics, and the
developments they have had within the scientific field. This paper will examine the fundamental
distinction constructed by Nessa Carey between DNA as a script versus a template. This analogy

Descartes Discourse Method Part 1 Essay
In this assignment I will give you, the reader my opinion concerning the positions of Descartes,
Discourse Method, Part 1, and Discourse Method, Part 4, his basic conclusion which ends with
validation of something much grander. In reviewing Descartes, Part 1, it s my belief he is
describing reason, which is instilled in each individual in society. If a person has a good reason
doesn t mean they always make the right decisions. Either way they make their decisions, no
matter what their opinions are. It s what makes us different from one another. If a person selects
something that is different, and shares their reasons why, it s all about conveying their opinion.
When people don t believe in what another person is conveying, concerning their reasons why
they came to their conclusion they have the right not to agree. This is why we have discussions,
even if their reasons are wrong; it s all about bringing their opinions to the attention of someone
else. In their discussion one person s reason seems better than the other person; it doesn t make
them smarter; it might be their views are better. I don t believe in one person being better than
another. When a person takes time to research a matter, they might be prepared to share their
reasons why their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Combahee River Collective
Our politics initially sprang from the shared belief that Black women are inherently valuable,
that our liberation is a necessity not as an adjunct to somebody else s may because of our need as
human persons for autonomy . The opening of the second part of The Combahee River Collective
Statement, What We Believe, expresses one of the major will of the Third World Feminist studies:
making Women a topic of research in its own rights. It s in 1977 that the Combahee River
Collective, a US radical feminist lesbian group, wrote this very famous manifesto that became
essential for the Black FeminismMouvement. They made as central the total recognition of the
different forms of oppressions, sexual, racial, social, that black women endure and the necessity to
fight against them. Therefore, the integration of notions of gender, sexuality, race, class in any
feminist analysis that deals with power and domination become unavoidable. They express clearly
the logical result of their struggle, the destruction of the political, social and economical system as
they are the representative basis of an unfair and racist society. To bring a fresh way of looking at
the position of some women in the American society turn to be a way to consider differently the
organisation and the functioning of the actors of a society on a national and also international level.
In 1982, some activists of the collective, Gloria Hull, Patricia Bell Scott and Barbara Smith,

Network Security And The Security
Hospital Network Security With a multitude of changes occurring in the technology field, it is
critical that hospitals maintain the highest levels of security for their internal network as well as
their public access network. Hospitals contain vital information about patients, treatment styles,
employees and staff, as well as pharmaceuticals that are kept on the premises. The importance of
protecting this information cannot be understated and a breach in securitycould cause a breakdown
in all areas of the network, having a catastrophic effect on the entire hospital. One of the most
important aspects of network security is a strong network security model. The network security
model consists of seven layers that work together to provide the strongest possible security for the
network. The seven layers are the physical layer, the vlan layer, the software layer, the user layer,
the administrative layer, and the IT department layer. A network security model that is well thought
out and designed allows the network security team to analyze and maintain the network and
determine if there has been a breach and the location of the breach. The first layer of the network
security model, the physical layer, pertains to physical security. This entails the prevention of a
physical attack on servers and other devices connected to the network. The physical layer is one of
the most important layers of protection because if it is breached, the layers beneath it will

Smoking During Pregnancy can at least be Linked to...
Many would argue that childbirth is a beautiful and miraculous event, however the process of the
pregnancy is a very fragile time in the mother s life. During this time most everyone would agree
that the mother should attempt to do everything that is possible to take care of her body. There
are some habits, however, that an extremely difficult to break, even during a pregnancy. The
practice of smoking tobacco is one of those habits. Many doctors would argue that smoking is
never healthy for the body especially during a pregnancy. For years institutions have sought to
produce statistical data to uncover the effects of smoking during a pregnancy. Even with the
changing times, statistical studies on this topic, continue to produce the same conclusions. In
1965, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Palo Alto Medical Clinic in California,
published a study of the pregnancy data of 5,659 women, who received care at their facilities from
1952 to 1958 (Downing) . This study recorded the end results of each pregnancy for both smokers,
of which there were 2,630, and non smokers, of which there were 3,029 (Downing). This study

How Far Did Climates of 7th Century Arabia Contribute to...
The religious, social, political and economical climates of seventh century Arabia, also known as
pre Islamic Arabia, contributed immensely to the emergence of Islam.
Religious climates were one of the causes of the emergence of Islam.
At the time in the seventh century of Arabia, people lived in the days of ignorance, known as
Jahiliyah. During this period of time, people of Arabia worshipped idols and Arabia was considered
a God less region.
Before the time of Jahiliyah, a group of people, al Hanafiyyeen, followed the monotheistic teachings
of Abraham (Ibrahim). He alleged faith in one universal God, but after his death, Arabs returned to
the polytheistic society.

The orthodox Christians originated in the Byzantine Empire ruled by the Romans, and Western
parts of Europe. They believed that Jesus was God and man at the same time.
The Nestorians originated in Hira, East of Arabia, and in the Sassanian Empire. They believed that
Jesus was the son of of God and he became divine after resurrection.
The Monophysites originated in Egypt, Syria and were part of the tribes of North and South of
Arabia. They believed that Jesus was god and only appeared as man.
There was also a monotheistic religion called Zoroastrianism, of whom the people originated in
Iran and Iraq.
In Abyssinia, there were two groups of people. One, the falashes, who were Jews, and two, the
people of Negus the Christian king.
It would have been impossible for people of Arabia to be unaware of all these different type of
religions for they were all so close and met through trade.
People of Arabia believed that the Ka bah was a shrine where pilgrims gathered to perform the

Bouncing Back By Melissa Balmain Analysis
Resilience People have learned to be resilient in order to overcome serious hardships. A person s
resilience can be seen through how they handle bad experiences; to be resilient in the face of
adversity. People who never give up and always fight back even when it gets hard are resilient.
Some believe that resilience is a trait that can be learned. In the article Bouncing Back by Melissa
Balmain; she writes about different people s hardships and how they learned to be resilient because
of their tenacious experiences. Balmain recounts Jennifer Loredo, a master sergeant in the army
who was serving in Afghanistan with her husband when a roadside bomb left her without a husband
and raising two kids on her own. Moreover Balmain mentions how... Show more content on

Many people throughout history have also faced adversity and have been resilient through it.
For example, Tyler Perry; he had a terrible childhood, he was physically and sexually abused as a
child, kicked out of high school, and tried to commit suicide twice in his lifetime. Still, through
all his hardships, he produced and starred in his first theater production, I Know I ve Been
Changed, which failed. Therefore he obtained odd jobs to pay for the production; finally on the
seventh run the show broke through. Through all his hardships he never gave up and today has
a successful career as a writer, director, and actor. Oprah Winfrey also endured a rough childhood
because of sexual abuse, she had a child at fourteen who passed away two weeks after. She
continued on to finish high school with honors and get a scholarship for college. She worked
her way up from TV anchor to a creator of her own network. Scientist Stephen Hawking was
diagnosed with ALS and through his colleague, friends, and family s support he became a great
scientist. Through his perseverance Hawking managed many accomplishments such as his
published book on the theories of the Big Bang. Nelson Mandela was also a person with great
resilience who dreamed of racial equality and spent 27 years in prison for it. I have had to be
resilient too as I ve had panic attacks since I was in seventh grade and continue to deal with them
today. Through my family s

Women s Rights Of The New Zealand
New Zealand Women have had the completely equal rights with men before the rest of the world
since 1840. In 1840 was the first organized British immigration started to move to New Zealand.
Theoretically, these rights would be a vague rules as long as it not applied so Women s right in
New Zealand was changing until a female Prime Minister was chosen in 1997 which is a milestone
of the women s rights attaining equality. Some females active in politics mainly affected the New
Zealandsociety to formulate women s basic rights, resulted that women have become more
independent and brave to stand for their freedom instead of blind marriage for example . this essay
will demonstrate how women have moved from being trapped as accessories to males to being
independent individuals in their own rights.
One of the significant women life story is Barbara Weldon . A woman represented by the low
educated women in New Zealand. She was born in 1829, Country Limerick, Ireland. In 1861,
she made a number of court appearance for drink related offenses and also known as a notorious
character in Melbourne, Australia. (Hutchison, 1990). She moved to Dunedin, New Zealand by
early 1863 when gold was discovered in the West Coast and work as a prostitute for her living. By
the time in 19th centuries, prostitution was not in itself a criminal offense. However, She finally
received a one way ticket to Hokitika from Dunedin Resident Magistrate s Court on charges of
drunkenness and disorderly

The Death Of Princess Diana
The death of Princess Diana was an event which shocked the world. Many grieved for her death
and sent prayers to the Royal Family while wondering how the event occurred. Throughout the
next few days, many news articles and speeches were released about her death, and some were
more effective than others. Four articles stand out, and out of the four only two are believed to be
rhetorically effective. The first article is a new article written by BBC. The article they wrote is not
rhetorically effective because of all the missing components. The BBC article is written in the
organizational method of narration. The method of organization is extremely obvious since the
author is not making any connection with the audience just stating facts. BBC states in their article,
Diana, Princess of Wales, has died after a car crash in Paris (BBC np). The author is too formal and
does not give any emotion throughout the paper. Since the connection with the audience is lacking,
part of the rhetorical triangle is missing making the article ineffective. The audience part of the
triangle relates to pathos, and since the thought of audience is missing from the article pathos is not
present. Despite the fact many things are missing in the article, logos and ethos are present. BBC
establishes ethos because they are a new station, and people trust the news and what they say.
Logos is established through the article because the wording is very straightforward in delivering
facts about the

How Did Henry Knox Accomplish
The resources of his genius have supplied, on this and many other interesting occasions, the defect
of means; his distinguished talents and services are equally important and indefatigable entitle him
to the same marks of approbation from Congress. ( Puls 172) George Washington said this about
Henry Knox when he suggested Congress allow Knox to be promoted to Major General after his
performance in the Battle of Yorktown. The first major accomplishment of Henry Knox was his
cannon deployment to Dorchester Heights, forcing British troops to evacuate Boston. Another
accomplishment of Henry Knox was his planning and artillery command during the Battle of
Trenton. The last major accomplishment of Henry Knox was his skillful use of artillery during...

Henry Knox will always be remembered as a Revolutionary general determined to fight for the
country he loved. Henry Knox s wartime accomplishments set a tone for the standard for an
army s artillery and what it means to be a hard working Military General. Knox was forced to
leave school at an early and worked hard to prove himself to his superiors. Whether it was by
shaping the US artillery into a skilled and resourceful group of men, or meticulously planning
attacks on British troops, Knox proved that by working diligently and loyally for a cause you
believe so fully in, you can truly make a difference. Henry Knox s first major accomplishment was
his planning and execution of efficiently moving the cannons from Fort Ticonderoga. The second
major accomplishment was his leadership in the daring Battle of Trenton. The last major
accomplishment of Henry Knox his critical role role he played in the ever so important Battle of
Yorktown, resulting in a promotion to Major General after the battle was won. Henry Knox,
through his many great accomplishments and test of character during his time as General in the
Revolutionary War, merit his acceptance on United State s

How Could Magnetically Levitated Trains Relieve the...
Introduction
Transportation is one of the most essential spheres of human s life in such aspects as economic
growth, communication, tourism, and utilization of space. Thence, it is very important for it to
have minimal effect on the environment, be safe, cheap, comfortable, and fast in use. Conventional
transport, such as trains and airplanes, causes a number of problems including air pollution, high
amounts of energy consumption, huge need of maintenance, high prices, and risks of safety, thus
not being efficient enough. Therefore, new generation of transport must correspond to definite
requirements: be efficient, reliable, and environmentally sound. The technology of the new kind of
transport magnetically levitated trains could be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, according to Figure 2, the amount of CO2 increases with the rise of speed.
Conventional trains are also not efficient in economic aspect, since there is a demand for constant
maintenance (Figure 1), such as periodic replacement of gear, wheels, rails, etc., which may lead to
huge financial expenses. Figure 1. Comparison of Maglev and Wheel On Rail Systems. Source: H.
W. Lee, Kim, and J. Lee 2006, 1917. Figure 2. The Energy Consumption of a TrainCalculated for
Different Speeds and its CO2 Emissions per Passengers. Source: Garcia, 2010, 41.
Air transport is constructed to be faster and more convenient than trains, however there are also
several burdens that are associated with airplanes. The most important aircraft problem is vast
fuel utilization European Commission 2009 indicates that airplanes have huge CO2 emission
51.5 gram per passenger kilometer. In addition, serious risks of safety usually worry people, for
instance, there is a recent loss of Boeing 777 airplane with all the passengers, which is usually
considered to be very safe, and still cannot be found (Ranter 2014). Airplanes are also very
dependent on weather conditions, as can be seen on Figure 3, number of delays lead to
considerably high financial expenses more than 7 billions in 2012. Figure 3. Annual and Per
Minute Cost of Delays to U.S. Airlines. Source: Airlines for America, 2012.

The Need to Psychological Egoism in Life
I have always looked at myself as an unselfish person with a good sense of empathy towards my
friends and other people. I have always thought about egoism as something solely negative. That
was before I knew the true meaning and concept of the word. Now I am no longer so sure; is it
possible to be an absolute altruist? Is it possible to keep going on an absolute altruistic line of life
without any egoistic subsidiary interference?
Psychological egoism is a human beings factual motivation in life. Psychological egoism builds
around that our intended actions are always controlled by our own interests, wishes and motives.
We are motivated by a wish to accomplish a sort of self fulfillment, meaning that our actions in
all aspects of our lives (from buying a sandwich because we are hungry, to studying for an exam
to get a good grade) are all done because it is for our own beneficial interests, wishes and motives.
The definition for ethical egoism is basically how we ought to act . Ethical egoism builds itself
around the idea that the best way to promote collective reimbursement, is to follow self interests.
By always striving for our own personal self fulfillment a person will better be able to promote
what is in the best interest of the community, more so than always striving to promote the
community s interests. A person is able to hold a sociable role that supports the general public by
taking care of his or her own well being and self interest first. The relationship

The Pros And Cons Of Hyper Reality
Hyper reality affects us all. We re increasingly lost in its mesh of simulation. Yet we re blind to it
because we are blinded by it. Hyper reality is a special kind of social reality in which a reality is
created or simulated from models, or defined by reference to models, a reality generated from
ideas. It differs from other realities in that the division between reality and imaginary disappears,
we left reality behind, and never noticed until now. We can no longer tell the former reality from
hyper reality, and we wouldn t know if reality returned. Humans nowadays lives in two worlds one
real and one simulated and the problem is that they can t differentiate between both that s what
Baudrillard said. We as I mentioned before, create simulation,... Show more content on

Everything is a complete simulation it is not real at all, and that is what we need to understand,
but we don t because we don t want to, not because it is unbelievable but because we don t want
to believe or even think that this is not real, after all, all we think about is our needs only and we
don t care about, fakeness, or reality what matters is to get them. Nowadays you can t know if a
person is talented or not actually you can t differentiate, because machines are doing the whole
work where nothing is hard on a machine it can duplicate anything, and do it to the fullest, but what
a machine can t do is add imagination to something and everything it does is not unique because it s
not original this is what Benjamin mentioned too and that s why also Baudrillard said nothing
around us is real if everything is duplicated and done by a machine than how can it be real. Two
important quotes that Baudrillard said are: Hell of simulation, which is no longer one of torture, but
of subtle, maleficent, elusive twisting of meaning... / it is dangerous to unmask images, since they
dissimulate the fact that there is nothing behind

Globe Theater Summary Charles Liu English 2 H Smith Period 6 16 October 2014 Shrewsearch Globe Theater Summary(475) The Globe Theater was established by Shakespeare s acting company, Lord Chamberlain s Men, in 1599. It was composed of 5 brilliant actors: Augustine Phillips, Will Kempe, Thomas Pope, John Heminge, and William Shakespeare. Shakespeare s wealth and career developed in this theater, which showed some of his plays like Henry VII. A funny incident that occurred during the showing of this play on June 29, 1613 was that a fireball special effect was miss shot and hit the theater, sending it to flames. The theater was quickly rebuilt within 2 years and started showing plays to the citizens once again. The Globe Theater was a hexagonal structure with a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It could have had an emphasis on social class and identity. Religious reasons could also play a major role in deciding styles for clothing. Generally men of this period wore heavily puffed clothing of a silk or thick cotton material. These also had the benefits of warming one up in a cold winter day. Layers were used in outfits to create a puffing image. The outfit would usually be completed with a fur, leather, or velvet hat. Because of Spain s growing empire, the influence from this region brought over a variety clothing styles. It seems that generally people back then all wore thick layers even in hot weather. Outfits were very structured and rigid, possibly due to preserving a straight back for great posture and manners. Many accessories were added to increase one s image and social stature. Usually, outfits included a black color. This is the first time that black is introduced into clothing. Black clothes would have the effect of making one seem sleeker in figure and it would complement many different colors of inside layers or accessories. Black has the great effect of highlighting colors on top of the mono color surface. People back then could have worn this color to show off their power by emphasizing the silver or gold jewelry. In this period of time, slimmer shoe designs were introduced for men. They would occasionally have ribbon decor on them in a puffing format. This made walking or doing daily activities easier because the shoes were more comfortable. Codpieces also became popular in men s fashion of this time. In women s fashion, dresses were more popular. Like in many older civilizations, very rigid and structures dresses were used. These were basically cases for humans to help them keep a good posture and figure. The insides of the dresses would be lined with wire to restrict the woman s figure and squish and mold the body into a certain hourglass shape. The torso would be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Being A Palliative Care Nurse Palliative Care Throughout this course, I have learned new information and refreshed myself on old information. I was also able to connect old information with caring for individuals going through palliative or end of life care. Being a palliative care nurse can be a busy and stressful job. The nurse needs to be fully educated on many different areas to be able to provide the best possible care for the patients and their families. A few of the topics that we discussed were the role of the palliative care nurse, cultural competency, pain control of those in palliative care, communication strategies, and legal and ethical issues that may occur during the end of one s life. Role of Professional Nurse in Palliative Care Nurses of all areas have many different roles and responsibilities. As a palliative care nurse, their roles can include being a consultant, educator, role model, and mentor (Matzo Sherman, 2015, p. 13). In the video Lessons On Living From The Dying An Interview With A Palliative Care Nurse On Kirsty TV (2013), the nurse showed that it is important to educate the patient and their family, be available for the patient in many forms such as an active listener, a shoulder to cry on, etc, involve the family in the healthcare and the decisions that are being made, provide a calm environment and a positive atmosphere (kick the negativity out the door immediately), and most importantly be there with the patient during this time. • 4. King Kong Comparison The original King Kong (1933) was fairly different from the new 2005 version. In the new version, Kong was much more humanized. For example, in the end when Kong falls off of the building and dies, it is heartbreaking. But in the original, there is a sense of relief when Kong finally dies, after terrorizing New York City and especially Ann. Kong and Ann share a more profound bond in the newer film. That is shown when Kong is finished fighting the three Tyrannosaurus Rex, she willfully goes with him, after he saves her. Also, towards the end you see Kong and Ann having fun playing on the ice back in New York. Ann wasn t afraid of Kong in the remake. One of the biggest differences between the 2005 and the 1933 versions were the characters. Ann, in the newer King Kongmovie, had much more character. We were able to see the back story of her dancing career and how talented she was. Also, Carl Denhamwas vastly different. In the original movie he was depicted as this great movie maker, but in the newer movie he is characterized as a sleazy guy; overall, he isn t a very good person. For example, he trapped Driscoll on the boat after he refused to write the rest of the script before they left. Jack Driscoll, in the 2005 rendition is no... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the biggest similarities were the scenes at the very end when Kong was on the top of the Empire State Building. It had the point of view from the planes. • 6. Portrait Of An Elephant Descriptive Essay On the upper left side of the picture frame, the words Maesa Elephant Camp, Chiangmai Thailand are written in both English and Thai. Across from the words a small elephant, hand carved from wood, has been attached to the corner. Its trunk is raised above its head, with the mouth open in a soundless trumpet. Across the bottom of the picture frame We love elephantshas been printed. The frame is made from a rough, dried paper with bits of grass, and is broken into two colors. The top half is sandy colored, while the bottom is a light chocolate brown. In the picture are two white girls. Best friends. One, Australian, is blond with blue eyes. The other, American, is a brunette with brown eyes. And across their sunburnt faces, a smile reaches from ear to ear. They sit together in a wooden bench that s laced onto an elephant s back. It s a small elephant. A female just under 8ft. If you were to stand up, you would just reach the tip of its ear. The elephant s body is a light grey with splotches of tan on the trunk and ears, creating a bleached look. A Thai man, one of the elephant guides, sits perched on top of the elephant s neck, his skin contrasting with the rich cobalt blue shirt he s wearing. Upon his head is a woven reed, safari like, hat, and he grips tightly to a long bamboo cane. Behind us, a rising hill sits, covered with vegetation so lush, the humidity seems to radiate off the picture. I run my fingertips over the rough edges of the frame and smile at the picture of my friend Hannah and I. It had been photographed in Thailand when our youth conference group had taken a trip down to an Asian elephant sanctuary camp. And this leads me to a realization. The photographer of the photo had shot it only moments before I found out where the line between exciting and dangerous really stood. The ride down to the elephant camp couldn t have been worse. Eight of us had each been packed into a songthaew a very small bus like vehicle facing each other. Humid air clung to my body like wet clothes; the pungent odor of body sweat clogging my lungs. • 7. Public Transportation And New Developments Public Transportation and New Developments INTRODUCTION Public transportation is the backbone of many large cities in the country but it seems the system of transit in cities on the east coast and the west coast are far more efficient and well organized than in the mid west. For example in Columbus, Ohio there has been deterioration in the public transit system. The area which COTA covers is the greater Columbus metropolitan area which includes the whole of Franklin County and parts of Union, Delaware, Fairfield and Licking Counties. Its main role is to provide public transit service for the local population and take them from one place to another safely. But it seems COTA does not involve women passengers in their discussions for consensus building on new routes and redevelopment of the routes. In October 2013, the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) Hired independent experts to review and evaluate the entire bus network. In March to June 2014 COTA received public input through ten public meetings, an online survey and focus groups. Between September 2014 and December 2014 a new proposed bus network completed was based on public feedback, and the COTA Board of Trustees accepted final report and adopted framework for future implementation. In January 2015 COTA began Implementation of Transit System Redesign (TSR), which will run through September 2017 with most major changes occurring in May 2017. Learning is a key for every child to understand what is going on around them and how should they react to that stimuli. The Scarlet Letter And Arthur Miller s The Crucible Carter Beaulieu Mr. Damaso AP English III, Period 5 21 October 2014 Puritanical Deception (1000) Emigrating from the Old World to purify the Church of England, the Puritan society was one of very strict religious beliefs. Believing in living plainly, the Puritans denounced those who went against their ways. They even excoriated fellow members of their community if a sin was bound to ones name. One sin in particular, adultery, was seen as a contravention to the covenant that the Puritans had established with God. Church leaders believed that unless the sinners were chastised, God would punish the whole community for a sin of such a magnitude. Despite having a sought out system of punishment for sinners, the tougher task for these leaders was to figure out who in fact was a sinner, as some did not confess. Those who did not confess or who had not been caught would behave hypocritically in order to preserve their reputation and avoid punishment. In both Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter and Arthur Miller s The Crucible, the repercussions of committing adultery are exhibited through characters in two different puritanical societies. Arthur Dimmesdale, Hester Prynne, John Proctor, and Abigail Williams are all victims to this. Despite living in sincere societies, these characters behave hypocritically in order to hide a concealed truth, resulting in internal ignominy, until they ultimately confess. The Characteristics Of Criminal Profiling Criminal profiling is the analysis of a person s psychological and behavioral characteristics; in this process they predict their capabilities in a certain sphere and identify a particular subgroup of people. This has led us to analyze whether criminal profiling is a useful law enforcement tool or not, but over the years many studies have shown the great success criminal profiling has produced. The act of criminal profiling is where law enforcement agents look for a subgroup of people s background to analyze what may happen next. In this process law enforcement agents look for the possible antecedents the group of people may have. With this information they can figure out the how they created the plan of the crime and where they were before they committed the act. Once they re done with figuring out their background information they can move onto a more deep explanation of the pattern which all the events occured. This process is called, the Geographic Approach ; which is the process where they look for the location of the crime scene. While doing this process the agents also look for the time the scene was made and while doing this the can also look for more offenses to add to the crime. However, a dichotomy does exist. Perhaps, Eliot rejects Sartre s position you are the sole author of your own existence since Eliot depicts vacuous, pseudo intellectual women who talk shallowly of Michelangelo, rather than using the powerful freedom to choose and self define. Descartes Discourse Method Part 1 Essay In this assignment I will give you, the reader my opinion concerning the positions of Descartes, Discourse Method, Part 1, and Discourse Method, Part 4, his basic conclusion which ends with validation of something much grander. In reviewing Descartes, Part 1, it s my belief he is describing reason, which is instilled in each individual in society. If a person has a good reason doesn t mean they always make the right decisions. Either way they make their decisions, no matter what their opinions are. It s what makes us different from one another. If a person selects something that is different, and shares their reasons why, it s all about conveying their opinion. When people don t believe in what another person is conveying, concerning their reasons why they came to their conclusion they have the right not to agree. This is why we have discussions, even if their reasons are wrong; it s all about bringing their opinions to the attention of someone else. In their discussion one person s reason seems better than the other person; it doesn t make them smarter; it might be their views are better. I don t believe in one person being better than another. Hospitals contain vital information about patients, treatment styles, employees and staff, as well as pharmaceuticals that are kept on the premises. The importance of protecting this information cannot be understated and a breach in securitycould cause a breakdown in all areas of the network, having a catastrophic effect on the entire hospital. One of the most important aspects of network security is a strong network security model. The network security model consists of seven layers that work together to provide the strongest possible security for the network. The seven layers are the physical layer, the vlan layer, the software layer, the user layer, the administrative layer, and the IT department layer. A network security model that is well thought out and designed allows the network security team to analyze and maintain the network and determine if there has been a breach and the location of the breach. • 44. The Death Of Princess Diana The death of Princess Diana was an event which shocked the world. Many grieved for her death and sent prayers to the Royal Family while wondering how the event occurred. Throughout the next few days, many news articles and speeches were released about her death, and some were more effective than others. Four articles stand out, and out of the four only two are believed to be rhetorically effective. The first article is a new article written by BBC. The article they wrote is not rhetorically effective because of all the missing components. The BBC article is written in the organizational method of narration. The method of organization is extremely obvious since the author is not making any connection with the audience just stating facts. BBC states in their article, Diana, Princess of Wales, has died after a car crash in Paris (BBC np). The author is too formal and does not give any emotion throughout the paper. Since the connection with the audience is lacking, part of the rhetorical triangle is missing making the article ineffective. The audience part of the triangle relates to pathos, and since the thought of audience is missing from the article pathos is not present. Despite the fact many things are missing in the article, logos and ethos are present. BBC establishes ethos because they are a new station, and people trust the news and what they say. Logos is established through the article because the wording is very straightforward in delivering facts about the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It differs from other realities in that the division between reality and imaginary disappears, we left reality behind, and never noticed until now. We can no longer tell the former reality from hyper reality, and we wouldn t know if reality returned. Humans nowadays lives in two worlds one real and one simulated and the problem is that they can t differentiate between both that s what Baudrillard said.
