General Motors recently went through a major overhaul in-sourcing all of our TA functions. Through this, we had to build a global sourcing platform and define the roles and responsibilities associated with being a world-class sourcer. Current market conditions and the evolution of TA had a large part to play in our strategy. William will discuss this journey and how GM defines success.

Changing Organizational Culture for the New Economyampitup01

I designed this guide to help entrepreneur's navigate the opaque world of coaching. I also created this guide to help them assess and find an amazing coach who is a strong match. Fit is incredibly important because it has a direct impact on the strength of the alliance and quality of outcomes.
This guide is broken up into a number of sections. First, I provide an overview on what coaching actually is. I then share insights into the coaches toolbox. Said another way, the experiences, skills and certifications that a coach may have. From there, we'll dive into how you can run a process and determine fit. I then highlight coaches and organizations that have been recommended by your peers. On our way to wrapping up, I share how you can think about pricing and ROI. Finally, I leave you with some resources if you want to go deeper into coaching.
Working with a coach is a big investment in time, money and energy. Both sides should feel charged to co-create a partnership, embark on a life-changing journey and grow together over time. That's why going into the process armed with guidance and information is so critical. Good luck!

What does the future look like? Is it a dark space where we’re suffering from varying degrees of techamphetamine or are we heading towards a Utopian fantasy of abundance and harmony?
Understanding that our basic human needs and wants barely change, we explore the future state of a range of topics; from our need for physical sustenance through to our age-long fascination of transcending the limitations of our biology.

9 steps to building a flexible workforce strategy talent waveTalentWave
A variable workforce model can attract scarce talent, while driving significant cost savings and enhancing enterprise flexibility. How do today’s HR professionals partner with other colleagues, including Procurement teams, to determine the ideal mix of traditional versus flexible workers (independent contractors, freelancers, temp workers)? That is the “million-dollar” question.
This question is hard to answer because talent demand is not static and is constantly in flux. Where do best-in-class organizations draw the line between full-time employees and flexible workers? And if your organization isn’t using flexible workers, should you? That's where a total talent management strategy comes in.
In this flexible workforce webinar you will learn:
-- How, and why, progressive companies are balancing their traditional, full-time workforces with non-employee workers like contractors, freelancers, temps and SOW workers
-- The strategic benefits of taking a blended approach to your workforce
-- When and where to leverage flexible workers
-- How to build a step-by-step action plan unique to your organization
-- How to mitigate risks involved with the contingent workforce
-- The strategic value of building a talent community
Attracting the right calibre of candidates to join your business can feel like an ongoing battle. Hence 21 years McKinsey & Co. coined the phrase The War for Talent.
We invite you to our TEQDay where we detail how Microsoft Business Applications fuelled by LinkedIn gives you the tools to win this battle.

Keynote for the AICPA Global Manufacturing ConferenceThe number one issue facing businesses is a need to innovate. Innovationis fundamentally about learning and how to keep your rate of learning (as individuals and as organizations) greater than the rate of change and greater than your competition. We think (and research supports this) it is time for a “paradigm shift” in talent development and learning. The need for a strategic and systematic approach to talent development already is under way in many high-performing organizations. Are you ready for these sweeping, even disruptive trends? Participants will learn:
• The latest trends in learning and talent development facing organizations
• How to approach learning and talent development in a strategic and systematic way and develop five action steps to take back with the

Keynote Presentation to CPA America Int'l in Portland, OR in September, 2014.
In a period of rapid change and increasing complexity, the winners will be those who can keep their rate of learning greater than the rate of change and greater than their competition or their L > C.
It's time to reimagine the CPA profession around the concepts of talent development and learning. New skills, new ways of learning, and new thinking. The need for a strategic and systematic approach to talent development is already underway in many high-performing organizations. Are you ready for these sweeping, even disruptive trends?
This presentation covers the latest trends and what we see as "next" practices emerging and how we, at the Business Learning Institute, are working to help CPA firms, corporations, government, and nonprofits with a new approach to talent development and learning designed to get two things: (1) business results and (2) engaged employees who are willing to give you their discretionary efforts!
The challenges facing human resources (HR) executives have changed significantly over the past 10 years. Today, HR is an important part of overall corporate performance. This is driven by several factors, including the growing needs to: attract and retain talent; implement strategic succession planning; access and analyze workforce data; and manage a culture that enables multi-generational workforce expectations. Microsoft has a technology platform that HR decision makers can use to address these challenges and deliver business impact.
How are you influencing the conversation around what talent thinks, feels and shares about what it’s like to be a part of your organisation?
For large and small companies alike, an inspiring employer brand will deliver real results, driving down cost per hire and employee turnover.*

Up the Ratios Bylaws - a Comprehensive Process of Our Organizationuptheratios
Up the Ratios is a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the gap in STEM education for underprivileged students by providing free, high-quality learning opportunities in robotics and other STEM fields. Our mission is to empower the next generation of innovators, thinkers, and problem-solvers by offering a range of educational programs that foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
At Up the Ratios, we believe that every student, regardless of their socio-economic background, should have access to the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in today's technology-driven world. To achieve this, we host a variety of free classes, workshops, summer camps, and live lectures tailored to students from underserved communities. Our programs are designed to be engaging and hands-on, allowing students to explore the exciting world of robotics and STEM through practical, real-world applications.
Our free classes cover fundamental concepts in robotics, coding, and engineering, providing students with a strong foundation in these critical areas. Through our interactive workshops, students can dive deeper into specific topics, working on projects that challenge them to apply what they've learned and think creatively. Our summer camps offer an immersive experience where students can collaborate on larger projects, develop their teamwork skills, and gain confidence in their abilities.
In addition to our local programs, Up the Ratios is committed to making a global impact. We take donations of new and gently used robotics parts, which we then distribute to students and educational institutions in other countries. These donations help ensure that young learners worldwide have the resources they need to explore and excel in STEM fields. By supporting education in this way, we aim to nurture a global community of future leaders and innovators.
Our live lectures feature guest speakers from various STEM disciplines, including engineers, scientists, and industry professionals who share their knowledge and experiences with our students. These lectures provide valuable insights into potential career paths and inspire students to pursue their passions in STEM.
Up the Ratios relies on the generosity of donors and volunteers to continue our work. Contributions of time, expertise, and financial support are crucial to sustaining our programs and expanding our reach. Whether you're an individual passionate about education, a professional in the STEM field, or a company looking to give back to the community, there are many ways to get involved and make a difference.
We are proud of the positive impact we've had on the lives of countless students, many of whom have gone on to pursue higher education and careers in STEM. By providing these young minds with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed, we are not only changing their futures but also contributing to the advancement of technology and innovation on a broader scale.
