What age group are you?
10 to 15 16 to 21 22 to 30 31 to 40 40+
We chose to only survey people in
the target audience as this is who
we have decided to base our
documentary on. This was to give
us more information on a more
concise group. However, we
included the other age groups in
case someone we surveyed hadn’t
been in the particular age group
we were after.
What gender are you?
Female Male
We decided to interview an equal
amount of people from both
genders so that we had a balance
of the people we asked. We also
didn't want to make our
questionnaire or documentary
biased to one gender therefore
asking an equal amount of people
was the best option.
If you have a job, is there any pressure on you to
wear makeup or dress in a certain way and how?
Half of the females we asked, who had a job, had to look a certain way. Whereas
none of the males we asked, that had a job, did. The things that were mentioned
about how they had to look included:
• Strict rules on make up
• Some said they were expected to wear a certain amount.
• Others said there were rules on how much make up they could wear.
• A few said make up was compulsory for the job role.
• Dress appropriately or to a dress code.
• Having to look presentable.
Do you think it’s ok for women to be forced to
wear make up in the workplace?
Yes No
As you can see from the graph the
majority of people we asked said
that they didn't think women
should be forced to wear makeup
and only one person said they
should. However, this person isn't
wrong in their views because
there is a law that says women
can be asked to wear makeup
within their job role.
Have you ever been made to feel bad for not
looking a certain way?
From our research we found that
most people have not felt
pressurised into looking a certain
way. However, there were still a
high proportion who had felt
pressurised. This statistic would fit
well within our documentary as it
is about the pressures of beauty.

slightly higher proportion of yes
answers, this because we found
that peer pressure is higher within
the college environment.
