2. Genre - Horror
• On my blog, I looked into three conpletely different genres of films tbat
interest me: horror, comedy and romance. I decided on the genre horror as it
would be the best genre for a creative film that can be placed in a dark setting
and so I can use a quite mysterious and dark antaganist.
3. Plot (for whole narrative)
• Beginning
The film will start with a flash back of the main antagonists childhood.
It seems like he is a fairly normal boy who has been brought up by his grandfather after the death of his
parents in a car crash when he was quite young, which he doesn't remember.
His grandfather owns and lives above a small clock shop and so he helps his grandfather with mending the
watches. His grandfather is his world. But all that changed one night. He was running late home from his
army cadets on a Tuesday night due to it being busy his usual route home as it was Halloween. When he
arrived home, it was getting late and as he went to open the front door with his key, he noticed it was open
already. He entered the flat to find everything was smashed and then he noticed some blood. And lying
motionless on the floor, he saw his grandfather with a knife sticking out from his chest.
The police finished their enquiries and couldn't charge anyone because there was no evidence. The police
suspected it was a robbery gone wrong. The only thing the police had was the eye witness that said a gang
of girls and boys had been up yo mischief for the last few weeks in the local area. The man knew it was
those group of teens. He wanted to get revenge and make them pay.
4. Plot (for whole narrative)
• Middle
He finds the group of teens. There's about 10 of them. He photographs them and turns them
into a profile on each of them. He goes after them one by one, stalking each of them and kills
them leaving a clock next to each dead body. He takes a missing poster for each victim and
uses them as a trophy in his room and puts them a round his clock.
End
Once he has killed them all and avenges his grandfather's death, he knows the police are
closing in on him so he kills himself at his grandfather's grave. He leaves a note saying "Time
Ran Out For Them".
5. What Shall be included in my film trailer?
• My film trailer will be split into 4 main scenes.
• The first scene and last scene will link together because it will make sure thst my film trailer is
cohesive and follows a narrative. As well as build up the tension and mystery of the serial killer.
• The first scene will be a girl running through the woods being chased and she falls over.
• The second scene is a police appeal outside the family home eith the parents
• The third scene is in the killers bedroom whilst he is listening to the police report and laughing.
He has a room covered with other missing people posters of other bictims he has killed. He is
just pinning up the missing picture of the girl.
• The fourth scene follows on from the first scene as it will be the serial killer holding the knife
and about to strike the girl. The screen will then go black. An alarm clock will sound and a
hand will slam on top to signal the murder has taken place..
6. Age rating - 15
• On my blog, I did reseaech into each age clsssificstion from 12 to 18. I have
decided that my film trailer would be an age rating 15. This is due to the fact
that I will be able to to include some violence, mild language and use a knife
as prop for my serial killer as I intend to. This can also give me a free reign to
how creative and what elements of the horror genre I do use. However I do
not what it to be too bad with gore or violence as I will be filming it so I
need to feel comfortable as well as my actors. The violence may be subtle or
implied in the trailer.
