2. Genre
• The genre that I have chosen is horror. I am extremely interested
in this genre as I love watching horror movies, although I am
aware of the degree of difficulty it is to pull off the conventions
and overall a good horror film. It is about a young boy who seeks
to find out what happened to 45 people who mysteriously went
missing in the same area. This is because his sister went missing
and he’s always been to himself and he wants some friends. He
speaks to his Dad who says that the story goes that a sinister
married couple who cannot have children, seek to kill all those in
and who have a large family. Myth goes that the couple were
recorded dead and they had drowned in a nearby river. Most of
the scary scenes will be in a specific park, which is the said-to-be
place where the murders happened. The audience would like to see
it as it will contain all the conventions in a good horror film such
as jumpy scenes, darkness, eerie music and appropriate props, etc.
The audience will be ranged from 15-45. The certificate of the film
will be a 15.
3. The opening sequence
• It relates to the rest of the film as it bases what to
expect later on, however leaves lots of enigma as it
doesn’t leave a specific storyline as anything can
happen. It also signifies the genre as it uses all of the
basic conventions in a good horror movie. The opening
sequence will introduce the main characters which will
be the young boy, the dead married couple and the
victims of the sinister murders. It will also share where
the consistent setting will be. Titles will be used
intelligently and frequently through the video, using the
horror movie to cleverly link in. The storyline has never
been thought of before and it will bring a new sense
and level of horror into the world.
