A man returns home covered in blood and dragging a weapon. He washes up but cannot get the blood off, so burns his clothes in a panic. Throughout the film there are flashbacks showing him killing and burying a girl in the woods. The finalized idea is a psychological horror film where a man pretends nothing happened after murdering a female relative at home. While he acts normal, the audience sees news reports of the crime. Fake blood is used to emphasize the brutality, and flashbacks show the victim and murderer doing ordinary things together in the house. The film aims to induce fear and guilt using the murderer's unstable emotional state rather than showing graphic violence.

2. This idea starts with a man walking through the front door of
his house; he is bloody and muddy. He was dragging a weapon
behind him. He goes straight to the bathroom when she gets in
to wash his hands and clothes, he keeps scrubbing and nothing
comes off. He realises this and decides to burn/wash his clothes.
He stands and watches this with panic on his face. He then gets
up then next day and carries on with his dad like normal. –
throughout the film there are flashbacks of him killing a girl
and dragging her body through a forest and burying her.
3. This idea consists of a young female who wakes up
and gets ready for her day ahead. She goes to the
bathroom and finds a note saying ‘I’m watching
you’. The audience can see the fear on her face. She
rips up the paper and throws it away; thinking
nothing of it. She goes on with her day as normal;
she goes for walk. Everywhere she looks she sees notes
saying different creepy things. She then begins to
have a panic attack and flashback of all the notes.
Someone comes behind her and knocks her out. Then
screen goes dark and then we see the girl tied up in a
isolated room.
4. This is a simple idea that we have had; the
vampires want to drink humans blood, however
there is one particular human they are after
because their blood makes them immortal – this
would consist of many chase scenes and a lot
of violence and blood. We could also wrap a love
scene in between a human and vampire this
would link it to the gothic category as the
romance will unfold throughout and will be
suspenceful.
5. We have looked on the BBFC website and have decided that
our film will be a 15 horror. This is because it contains most of
the element of a 15 and no elements of an 18. In our film
opening there is only a few scenes with violence in and the
violence in not sexual as sexual violence is an element of an
18 horror. The violence does not dwell on the pain the
character will be having and the gore is not shown. There is
also no strong threat and the horror is not focused on. We have
not used any reference of hanging, suicide or any dangerous
behaviour this means that the behaviour cannot be copied. We
have used a weapon that is easily accessible as it is a knife; it
is used to kill the girl. We have made this acceptable by cutting
away when the knife goes to kill the women.
6. We have had a group discussion and decided to go with the Psychological idea
because we feel that it is the strongest idea we have and we would be able to play
around with misc-en-scene.
After a group discussion we have decided to change the idea slightly; A man
comes home acting normal even though he is covered in blood and with a knife.
It become apparent throughout the film that he has killed a relative as there are
flashbacks of news reports throughout the film while he carries on with his day.
We know she is a relative because we will include flashbacks of the women doing
things that the murder does in the same house e.g. putting washing in the
machine. This suggests the women and murder are brother and sister or maybe
a married couple.
Within the film we will use micro elements such as having a protagonist and
an antagonist the women is the protagonist and the man is the antagonist as he
murders the girl. We will also be using a knife as the weapon however in our
film we plan for only the murder to have a weapon because this will allow the
women to seem more vulnerable. Our film will be an Psychological horror
because it will rely on fear and guilt of the characters.
7. Our final idea is about a murder who returns home after murdering a relative
who is a women. He goes about the rest of his day acting normal and
pretending that nothing happened. At the same time as the man is going
about his day we will have voice overs from news reports as the at the start
of the film we will have a news report we have done this to add context to
the film. We plan to use fake blood over the clothes and body to emphasis
how brutal the murder was. We have used the questionnaire results to help
us create our film. A few examples are that the the audience preferred the
antagonist to be an man so we have used an male actor whose age is
about 19 within the film. Also the audience decided that they prefer the
antagonist to be alive which we have embedded within our film. We have
also decided that the film will be a Psychological horror as there will be no
murder scene there will just be the use of guilt and emotional instability from
the murderer.
