3. The plot
Ruby is a 16 year old girl who is jealous of her younger sister Annabelle as she
is favoured by her parents so she ends up murdering her. She then spends the
next 2 years on the run whilst the world thinks she is dead after her and her
sister being ‘kidnapped’. She is recognised in public and a search party is sent
out for her as they then realise she is still alive.
Subplot: The parents separated after the incidence but the case re-opening
brings them back together.
Ruby - the older sister and main character - then turns to drugs and has no roof
over her head to live under. She does have a friend that sticks by her
throughout the whole situation. She then robs a bank to get money for drugs
and general items to fend for herself.
4. Character introduction
Ruby
Ruby is the main character of our film. She has always been in envy of her sister getting all of the spotlight and has actually got
some mental health problems of herself. She has paranoid schizophrenia and thinks that everyone is out to get her and the tiniest
thing will set her off. when she runs away she becomes a drug addict and befriends another ‘homeless girl’ who is actually just a
figure of her imagination, however she thinks it is actually someone and so do the audience.
Annabelle
Annabelle is the younger sister and is murdered by Ruby. She is a 7 year old girl who is confident and is very girly and well loved
throughout the whole of the family with her sister as an exception.
Ross
Ross is the girl’s father and is your average working man however he turned quite physco after having both of his girls go missing.
Clare
Clare is the mother and is the same as ross but they are both perceived as bad people who are out to get their daughters.
Amy
Amy is a hallucination of Ruby, they are living on the streets together and Amy is always telling her to do ‘bad’ things and help
fund her drug addicted.
5. Brief outline on what will happen
● Girl kills her sister out of jealousy then makes it look like they have both
been kidnapped so she can run away
● She robs a bank to supply her drug addiction and is seen on cctv which
opens the case back up
● She is on the run for two years and is living in her old abandoned family
home which then brings back memories
● Her family are informed about her being seen and a search party begins
● You can then see how Ruby and ‘Amy’ are always one step ahead of the
police
● Ending - in a room with parents, police have been called and have
surrounded the building. She has a gun and as soon as the door breaks
down, she shoots herself.
6. Opening
Fast paced along with fast music

High energy is created and given off to the audience
Ruby is running away from the bank after she has just robbed it, she then runs
into an alley where CCTV picks her face up from a high angle. A graphic match
is used to a shot of ruby watching a news report about her. She will be in her
old family house which was then abandoned after the incidence where the
crime took place. It will then fade backwards and she will put on the same song
to which she killed her sister to and will then show a flashback to the scene of
the memories that took place like her actually killing her sister and where the
tiara was found with blood on it.
7. Influences
Physco- this influenced us because we want to base our film around a
psychological event and physco’s main theme is psychological. It is also based
around stealing money, which gave us the idea of a bank robbery.
The univinted- this film is also similar because the main girl in our idea has
imagined a girl who we, and the character thinks is real but it is really a figure of
their imagination which also happens in the uninvited. She also believes that
her step mum is out to kill her and this is similar as she thinks her parents hate
her and are out to make her life hell.
