Puerperium is the period following childbirth during which the body tissues, specially the pelvic organs revert back approximately to the pre-pregnant state both anatomically and physiologically. puerperium begins as soon as the placenta is expelled and lasts for approximately 6 weeks when the uterus becomes regressed almost to the non-pregnant size.

It explains the perspectives of mental health & mental health nursing..It define mental health, mental health nursing, components of mental health, mental health act, mental health program...
These slides will explore about lecture method of teaching. How to introduce, deliver and conclude the lecture. It will also tell you about the advantages and disadvantages of lecture method and help to compare it with other methods of teaching.
Normal labour and physiology of normal labourJasleen Kaur
This topic will make easy to understand normal labour and physiology behind normal labour to all medical students..Hopefully it would be beneficial to all dear students..
It describes the commonly used terminology in mental health nursing. It forms the basic concept in the mind of students related to psychiatric nursing and psychology.
Homeostasis, the ability of body to maintain its internal balance.Jasleen Kaur
This slide clearifies the concept of homeostasis to the students as homeostasis is the ability of body to maintain its internal balance.Homeostasis is defined as is the ability or tendency to maintain internal stability in an organism to compensate for environmental changes. An example of homeostasis is the human body keeping an average temperature of 98.6 degrees.I hope the medical and nursing students will clarify their doubts regarding homeostasis after going through these slides as i had explain with pictures and examples.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2. DEFINITION
Series of events that takes place on genital organ in
an effort to expel the viable product of conception out
of the womb through vagina into the outer world.
3. PRINCIPLES
There are three principles of mechanism of
labour.
a) Descent takes place throughout labour.
b) Whichever part leads and first meets the
pelvic floor will rotate forward until it comes
under symphysis pubis.
c) Whatever part emerges from the pelvis will
pivot around pubic bone.
Nemonics DSP (descent, symphysis pubis and
pubic bone) to remember principles of
mechanism of labour.
5. CRITERIA FOR NORMAL
MECHANISM OF LABOUR
• Lie is longitudinal
• Presentation cephalic
• Position ROA or LOA
• Attitude is good flexion
• Denominator is occiput
• Presenting part is posterior part of anterior
parietal bone
6. PRINCIPLE MOVEMENTS IN NORMAL
MECHANISM OF LABOUR
• Engagement
• Descent
• Flexion
• Internal rotation of head
• Crowning
• Extension of head
• Restitution
7. PRINCIPLE MOVEMENTS IN NORMAL
MECHANISM OF LABOUR
• Internal rotation of shoulders
• External rotation of head
• Delivery of body by lateral flexion
Nemonics to remember mechanism of labour
END FLICER ICED (flicer means very bright ) so flicer
company ke end hone se uska manaager iced ho gya.
8. PRINCIPLE MOVEMENTS IN NORMAL
MECHANISM OF LABOUR
• Engagement
– Engages with sagittal sutures in right oblique and
biparietal diameter in left oblique
– Occiput points to left ileo pectineal eminence
• Descent
– Fetus descent due to contraction and retraction of
uterine muscle
• Flexion
– Engaging diameter is sub occipito frontal (10cm)
– Changes to sub occipito bragmatic (9.5cm)
10. • Internal rotation of head
– Occiput is the leading part
– Rotates one by eighth of the circle
– Sagittal suture comes in APD
– Slight twist in the neck of the fetus
• Crowning
– Biparietal diameter stretches at vulval outlet
• Extension of head
– Releases Sinciput face and chin
– Head is born by flexion
• Restitution
– Twist in the neck of the fetus is corrected by slight untwisting
movement
– Occiput turns one by eighth of the circle towards the maternal
side
14. • Internal rotation of shoulders
–Shoulders rotate one by eighth of a circle to lie
under symphysis pubis
• External rotation of head
–Occiput rotates further one by eighth to the
mothers left side
• Delivery of body by lateral flexion
–Anterior shoulder escapes under symphysis pubis
–Posterior shoulder sweeps the perineum
–Body is born by lateral flexion
