Mass is the amount of matter in an object, volume is the amount of space an object occupies, and density is the mass per unit volume of an object. Mass is measured in grams using a balance, volume is measured in liters or cubic centimeters by multiplying length, width, and height or using liquid displacement, and density is calculated by dividing an object's mass by its volume and expressed in grams per milliliter or grams per cubic centimeter. Volume can be measured through liquid displacement by placing an object in water and calculating the difference in water levels.
