Marriage Is An Important Part Of Their Culture And Heritage
Marriage Culture For certain countries arranged marriage is an important part of their culture and
heritage. Like in the essay What's Love Got to Do with It? by Anjula Razdan, Anjula's family that
immigrated to America from the country of India believed in arranged marriage because that was the
culture they were a part of before they left India. In India the grandfather chooses who he thinks is
the best suitable partner for his grandchild, which is nothing like how Americans choose their life
partners. While Americans believe in marrying for love, that might not be the best way of marriage
for other countries due to family reactions, success rates, and the benefits of marriage. The family's
reaction is a very important part of marriage. How your family feels about your soon to be husband
or wife helps to show if the marriage is a good or bad idea. In arranged marriage the family chooses
who they think will benefit you and them the most, and most of the time your parents do know what
is best for you. Even though in arranged marriage you are marrying a complete stranger, most
arranged marriages grow stronger and fall more in love the longer the marriage lasts and if the
couple has had children also plays a role in if the marriage will last or not. Arranged marriages can
be useful by bringing two families together through marriage or to make an alliance between two
families, for example the essay "What's Love Got To Do With It?" by Anjula Razdan "... arranged
marriages were

Relationships Are An Important Part Of Human Existence
Relationships are an important part of human existence. To survive, we must build these
connections. They consume every facet of our lives. We encounter many different relationships in
our lifetime. We are a sibling, friend, parent, child, co–worker, spouse, lover and many more. It is a
part of who we are and how we relate to the world around us. It is how we develop and nurture these
relationships that make the difference in our lives. Relationships are complicated, but can be
rewarding when all parties are seeking the same goal. We learn to balance our interactions and seek
to find a way of fitting them into our everyday lives. The best relationships are ones that are built on
mutual trust, understanding, and respect for each other. When they don't work out, we may feel a
sense of failure or sadness. They are often hard to let go of, even if they are dysfunctional and
unhealthy for us and the people we are surrounded by. In" Learning to Fall", there are multiple
relationships being described. Ruth is a single mother who is doing her best to raise her young son
Andrew and keep a positive outlook on life. The relationship she has with her son is nurturing and
loving. Andrew is striving to become independent and resents his mother being too mushy,
especially in front of other people. What makes this a bit more complicated and special, is the fact
that Andrew was born with disabilities. Ruth also has a friendship with the narrator. The two women
appear close and seem to

Art Is An Important Part Of Education
What is art? Is it just painting or can it be a number of creations, such as, music, dancing, theater,
pictures, sculptures, poems, stories, or videos. When I think of art, I think of all of these different
creations listed as art. Art is anything that can inspire a person, or create feelings from looking,
touching, or hearing. The definition of art is "the expression or application of human creative skill
and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be
appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power (google.com)." Art is a way for humans to
communicate what they feel in their hearts. Although, some people may not agree that art is an
important part of education without it education could have been lost today. In the past ten years that
I know of, art has slowly been fading away in the educational environment. This can be any subject
from: theater, dance, band, and even just art classes in general. Our education has slowly started to
only focus on core academic classes. While some people in our education system may not perceive
this as a true fact; there is evidence to support that art has declined in public education. "For theater
and dance in elementary schools, the percentages of schools making these art forms available went
from 20 percent 10 years ago to only 4 and 3 percent, respectively, in the 2009–10 school year. In
addition, at more than 40 percent of secondary schools, coursework in the art was not

Music Is A Important Part Of Our Life
"Without music, life would be a mistake." Music is a very important part of our live, and those who
make music are very special in this world. Music not being involved in my life would result in
harmonies and melodies leaving me totally empty. When I was younger , I didn't have the great love
for music as I do now entering the second year of college. I mainly listened to whatever was playing
either in the background or what my mom was listening to. I can personally say that I didn't have
much of a care for musical compositions. At the time I didn't have a preference of the particular
genre of music much, but now as I am older, I enjoy it as it allows me to reminisce on memories
from specific times in my childhood. Once after I had hit my teenage years music began to become
my life and gradually started to inhibit on my soul. Music has the ability to convey all sorts of
emotions in my personal opinion. Whether the emotion is happiness or sadness and despair through
foot tapping rhythms, harmonies and the lyrics music shows it. The musical images that music and
song are able to portray and create are amazing. Music has created the ability to turn or transport me
back in time just like a time machine. Allowing me to revisit lost and forgotten moments in life.
Songs can paint a picture, for example in classical and country music where a story is being told
compared to pop songs. The music in classical music tells a story without lyrics which is a strong
and powerful thing. I

Hippocampus: The Most Important Part Of The Brain
Your best friends invite you over for some pizza, and a friendly game of cards, you just relax and
enjoy yourself. You don't really realize how many different parts of your brain come into play so
that you can speak, remember and think. Your hypothalamus, occipital lobe, hippocampus, and
Broca's area are just a few of the major pieces to the big system involved in your brain. Your
hippocampus is involved in helping you store long term declarative memories. While sitting, you
and your friends start remembering how you met in elementary school. Without the hippocampus,
you would have no idea how your friendship first started. You are playing your card game; you
remember the tricks your dad taught you when you were ten. Without the hippocampus you would
have no recollection of these memories. The hypothalamus regulates your body temperature, ...

You and your fiends team up during your card game, and your friend signals to you that she has the
cards to win the game. Without a functioning optical lobe, you would see her signal to you, but not
understand what she is doing. In the end, you would probably lose the game as a result. The final
and most important part of the brain is the Broca's area. You don't really think about talking, you just
say what's on your mind. Imagine sitting in a room with your best friends and not being able to
communicate with them. You know in your head what you want to say, but it doesn't come out
correctly. It would drive me crazy, and people who damaged their Broca's area experience this.
Without this part of your brain, you have would really have a hard time talking to your friends. You
don't really realize how important your brain is, but this shows you just how important your brain
really is. We don't really think about how lucky we are to have each of these parts functioning
correctly. Hopefully we never have to experience any of these

An Important Part Of Interpersonal Communication
Feedback is known to be an important part of interpersonal communication. It lets speakers know
what impact their words are having. When others have an opportunity to respond, a dialogue is
created and the content of the messages can be adjusted, or even improved. This dynamic is applied
every day in health care settings. Medical professionals rely on feedback throughout their careers to
enhance the quality care they provide. Patients enter clinics and emergency rooms seeking feedback
from physicians about what is happening to their bodies. Together, medical staff and patients must
depend on feedback to reach a diagnosis and find the best course of treatment. Physicians and other
medical staff collectively examine patients: recording their vitals, taking an accurate history, and
performing a thorough review of certain body systems. All of this is done based on the patients'
chief complaints. Their bodies are sending feedback signals, trying to tell them something is wrong,
such as an infection like pneumonia. Patients cannot interpret this feedback themselves, so they seek
medical services to further examine them. Sometimes the feedback patients' bodies send is not very
clear. Many diagnoses share signs and symptoms, so physicians should consider other factors as
well. The patient may have other conditions that put them at particular risk for other problems to
arise. If physicians or staff fail to further investigate in these situations, a potential for serious
consequences

Slavery Is An Important Part Of American History
Slavery is an important part of American history regardless of what generation you come from. The
topic may be an uncomfortable subject however there is a lot you can learn from the experiences
and the stories slaves like Harriet Jacobs tell in Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl. There are
several moments through her life that really challenged and complimented my understanding of
slavery in American history. The incidents that really swayed me where when she found out she was
pregnant, certain the lessons taught by her master, and her trip to Philadelphia. Harriet Jacobs, or
Linda Brent, had a relationship with her master that involved fear and restraint. Dr. Flint, her master,
was very covetous of the young slave girl refusing to sell her to another master. Although she feared
him, she could not escape him and ultimately she let him take advantage of her. This incident in her
life stuck out to me because it showed how slave families seriously disapprove of intercourse with
their masters despite there being no consent. I had always believed that a family would understand
that because the master had forced his will on you, the eyes of god would still see you as pure. The
reaction by her grandmother to initially shun her and say, "You have disgraced your dead mother"
seemed very harsh. In my opinion this incident is important for people to be aware of for the reason
that although you may feel powerless in a situation, you can never let someone impose their will
against

Gesture Is An Important Part Of Language
Gesture is an important part of language the world over. Apart from sign languages, gestures, or
talking with one's hands, largely go unnoticed by a majority of speakers. That being said, there are
some gestures that are so integral to a language that ignoring them is impossible. Such gestures can
widely vary across languages and the world, and making a mistake with them can be disastrous. To
alleviate some of this confusion, incorporating gestures into dictionaries of a specific language or
country may be helpful, as well as indexing and recording such gestures. This process, though, may
prove to be a complicated endeavor. Gestures, due to their ubiquitous use and arbitrary meanings,
should be indexed conclusively into dictionaries of their corresponding languages and possibly even
resources of their own. Gesture is an incredibly effective way to convey an idea and are an essential
part of many languages. In most languages, gesture serves as a way to emphasize speech or to say a
short phrase without speaking. They have been conventionalized in society, and while they do not
have all the same linguistic properties as words do, their meaning within their culture is undeniable.
As Rousseau says, "one speaks more effectively to the eye than to the ear." (8) It can be hard to
mistake something as simple as a head nod or a wave in greeting. Gestures such as the ones above
and others such as thumbs–up, now ingrained in social media sites such as Facebook, are

School Is An Important Part Of Our Lives
School is an important part of our lives. School help prepare our children for college and later on
life in the big world. Since school is such an important part of our lives, there are many types for
schools that have been developed with different viewpoints and ways of teaching. First, you have
our public schools. Next, is our religious affiliated private schools and our non–religion affiliated
private schools. Lastly, are the alternative schools. Public schools are schools that are funded by the
state. A majority of students in the U.S. attend public schools. My children attend public schools and
in a public school there is no need to pay money to attend public schools. The good things about
public schools is that it's free to attend and they provide their students with school buses for
transportation. Although, a bad thing would be if you want your child to attend a certain public
school and you do not live their district, then you would have to pay tuition. Private schools are very
common especially in foreign countries. In foreign countries schools are private because usually the
government does not have the money needed to fund a public school. There are two types of private
schools; religious and non–religious private schools. Firstly, private schools are simply schools that
are not funded by the state, that have the ability to make their own codes and rules, such as wearing
a school uniform. In a religion based private school, the school is based around a certain

Communication Is An Important Part Of Lives
Communication Challenges Communication is an important part of lives. Unfortunately, not all of
us are blessed with good communication skills. Poor communication can cause conflicts in our
personal and professional lives. However, good communication will strengthen relationships and
lead to success both personally and professionally. A little over a year ago, I went to the eye doctor
for my yearly exam; I told him that I was having trouble reading things up close. Much to my
surprise my vision had improved and my contacts were just too strong. Before I left, we talked about
ordering new contacts and new glasses since my prescription had changed. A month later I called
my eye doctor's office to see if my new contacts had come in since I had not heard from them.
It seems that Dr. Thomason and I had a miscommunication, he thought I was coming back to pick
out glasses when he received some new frames and I thought he was ordering contacts and I was
coming back to look at the new frames when they came in. This is just one example of how poor
communication can cause problems.
In this case we were both guilty of not listening or hearing only what we want to. Poor listening can
lead to many problems. Unfortunately, even when we are good listeners there can still be
communication problems. Sometimes it is difficult to understand what the speaker is saying. There
were a lot of times at my former job when my boss was telling me something and I did not know
what he was talking

Pesticides : An Important Part Of Farming
It is easy to take for granted how the food we eat was grown, how the putting green at a local golf
course is so nice, or how decorative houseplants become so large and beautiful. The secret behind
all these everyday pleasures is fertilizers. Fertilizers supply the nutrients necessary to a plant that are
not as abundant as oxygen, hydrogen, and carbon. Fertilizers are an important part of farming
because it allows for better growth and a larger yield. Not only are fertilizers important for farming,
but they are also used on golf courses, private lawns, and in gardening and landscaping. Chemistry
is the very foundation of fertilization due to the chemical elements and how they operate, the
purpose behind fertilizer, the time frame, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many people initially picture manure when the term fertilizer is mentioned or discussed. Manure
was traditionally used as a fertilizer, but modern fertilizers consist of different elements engineered
chemically along with natural animal manure, compost, and other organic matter. Modern fertilizers
really became popular after WWII around 1945 because of the excess ammonia, its availability, and
low cost [13]. Ammonia was then used for nitrogen fertilizers, but little research was done on them.
After researching and gaining knowledge on the amount of fertilizer needed and how the plants
were affected by the fertilizer, the system became much more effective. The modern fertilizer
industry is worth $10 billion dollars in the United States today [2]. This is a massive industry where
both imports and exports are worth billions of dollars.
Fertilizers are usually a combination of different elements. These elements can be split up into
macro and micronutrients. The macronutrients are the main nutrients a plant needs to support
healthy growth, whereas the plant needs less micronutrients. There are six macronutrients: nitrogen,
phosphorous, potassium, calcium, sulfur, and magnesium. The macronutrients nitrogen,
phosphorous, and potassium require the highest amount of application and are emphasized the most.
The remaining three macronutrients – calcium, sulfur, and magnesium – require a lower application
amount. The micronutrients consist of zinc, copper, iron,

Education Is An Important Part Of Society
Education was an important part of society. Since the Cold War and the Soviet Union's successful
launch of Sputnik in October of 1957, improvements of education was necessary. In the 1960's, John
F. Kennedy developed proposals to ensure the American education system were competitive with
students all around the world. His proposals were to ensure that every race, and religion would
receive a good education. However, not every child was receiving the same education opportunities
based on money issues surrounding them and the minority they were classified as, the No Child Left
Behind Act of 2001 was to ensure that these issues would be dissolve. On January 8th of 2002, six
months and one war later after George W. Bush first proposed the No Child Left Behind bill, it was
finally passed. Under the No Child Left Behind, every state was required to develop and implement
strict academic standards in reading and math. These standards obliged by law to every student–
regardless of ethnicity, social class, or mental ability– to ensure that in twelve years, one hundred
percent of students could demonstrate satisfactory skills (Hudson 44). The law also required states to
create their own test and assessments, to be administrated to the third through eighth grade annually.
The results of these tests determined how much funding the school would get. If the test scores were
low, the school would not get as much funds as a school with high test score would get.

The Holocaust : A Important Part Of History
The Holocaust is a topic that some think of as a very essential part of history that students should
learn about. On the other hand, some would argue that it is too severe for middle school students.
Without a doubt, Nazis abused their large power and used it towards destruction and in so, violated
civil rights and killed 6 million Jews. The Holocaust was a turning point in history that is only
taught based on the judgement of schools. The Holocaust Museum in Houston says, "During the
Holocaust religious, moral, and legal systems failed in deterring the dangers of prejudice." This can
compare to how there is a large debate on whether students should or shouldn't learn about the
Holocaust and topics similar to it. The Holocaust was a major part of history that has influenced
many people and advanced the future to where we are now; thus, we should educate the the younger
generation since teaching about the Holocaust enables you to advance into a better human being,
students can use their critical thinking skills, and it honors those who have passed and survived. The
students who have educated themselves about the Holocaust understand that the Nazis were terrible
and desecrated basic human rights and liberties. This allows them to become a better citizen with the
interpretation that they serve humanity for the better. When learning about tragic topics like the
Holocaust, they can make preconceptions between history and their own lives and moral choices.

Keeping Secrets: An Important Part Of Friendship
Keeping secrets is an important part of any friendship. Having that trust built up and there is the
most grateful thing that you can have. "Three may keep a secret, if two of them are dead." I believe
that you should always keep secrets no matter what and not go around spreading the things that you
have heard. Learning to not tell secrets is a good lesson to learn.
When I first read that quote, it reminded me of a tv show that I watched growing up called 'Pretty
little liars'. Watching the show made me realized that, you always gotta be careful who your friends
are. In the show and in real life you get friends who will blackmail you and make you do something
that you didn't want to do. If you fall into the traps of what the people do, then that is going to make
your life worse than what it could be. In my life personally I've had friends that I've told everything
to and next thing I knew my friend became my enemy. They went around and twisted my words and
told everyone my worst parts of me. So from then on I never really opened up to anyone since and
learned that I need to be careful to who I confined in.

Energy Is An Important Part Of Human Evolution
Energy has been an important part of human evolution. Ever since human began development,
energy was a major factor. We need energy for everything we do. Heat is one of many types of
energy, and it is a very important type of energy. We use heat to warm our shelter, drive cars. Heat
transfer is one of the most obvious processes in the nature. It occurs at all the places such as
machine, biological creatures, etc... In engineering this heat transfer is a key part of understanding
heat energy. The study of heat behaviour and harnessing heat energy is called thermodynamics.
Thermodynamics is used for many areas such as nuclear power plant, car engines, etc... This essay
will cover topics such as, what is energy, and what makes it useful? , what is thermodynamics,
success rate for harnessing and manipulating energy and how energy is vital to us all and how we
use it.
Firstly, energy is a power produced from physical or chemical resources, such as heat provided to
work the machines. It defines the capacity for doing the work, generating heat, etc... There are many
types of energies such as mechanical, electrical, thermal, nuclear, etc... This essay will cover thermal
energy. Thermal energy is the random motion of particles in the substance. An example of this
situation would be warming a cup of water, where water particles gets in random motion when
heated. The uses of thermal energy are very broad. Thermal energy is used in simple tasks such as a
coffee maker, to a solar plant. It is

Carbohydrates : An Important Part
Carbohydrates paly an important part in athelets ' perfomenace. The basic componant of a
carbohydrate is a simple union of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. There are three major kinds of
Carbohydrates: monosaccharides (or simple sugars), disaccharides, and polysaccharides.
1. Monosaccharides: [Sugar] It is the simplest form of carbohydrate as it consists of single–sugar
unit.
The monosaccharides is main and primary source of energy for organisms.
2. Disaccharides: [simple or fast–acting carbohydrate] It consists of two monosaccharides joined
together by a covalent bond.
Common examples of disaccharides are sucrose or table sugar (glucose–fructose), maltose (glucose–

Fruit sugar is also known as fructose and the sugar in milk is called lactose. We can recognize other
sugars on labels because their chemical names also end in "–ose." For example glucose (also called
dextrose), fructose (also called levulose), lactose and maltose.
C) Fiber: (comes from plant foods however no fiber in animal products such as milk, eggs, meat,
poultry, and fish). The fiber is the indigestible part of plant foods, including fruits, vegetables, whole
grains, nuts and legumes. When you consume dietary fiber, most of it passes through the intestines
and is not digested.
Our body reduce Disaccharides and starches to monosaccharides through digestion to power our
physical activities. There is a special type of carbohydrate, known as fiber, passes through our
intestine undigested. While fiber doesn't provide us with cellular energy, it improves our digestive
health by regulating our bowel function.
Major sources of carbohydrates are grain products, starchy vegetables, legumes, fruit, nuts, seeds,
milk and yogurt.

Organizational Change : An Important Part Of An Organization
Introduction:
Culture is an important part of an organization. In todays world many companies are expanding their
business by opening new plants and franchises in different countries in order to maximize their
profit margins and reduce their labor costs. As mentioned by (Lee & Lin, 2014) that operating in
different locations help companies to gain technological and market information and they can
respond to their customers quickly.
Opening business in a new country means facing a new culture, which may requires the company to
do major changes in their organizational culture so they can relate to the culture of host country. As

Background:
A mechanism to gain access to new resources is known as acquisition (Sarala, 2010). Culture is
comparatively a new dimension in acquisitions and mergers. According to (Sarala, 2010) culture
dimension play an important role and highlights the cultural factors such as cultural differences and
other cultural characteristics affect the outcomes of the acquisition. Article (The role of leadership in
successful international mergers and acquisitions. Gill, 2012) will review the cultural differences
and how two different Leadership styles have a totally opposite effect on the two mergers in a same
culture. Second review article selected is (Multicultural Shared Leadership in culturally diverse

Recidivism Is An Important Part
Recidivism is an important part and essentially one of the main problems of the criminal justice
system. Recidivism occurs anytime an individual reverts to committing illegal activities, after they
have endured some form of punishment for a previous (if not the same) crime. Every neighborhood
and every community experiences crime. Every community sends its criminals away and once their
time is served they are released back into that same community. Under the canopy of recidivism,
regardless of the specific type of crime, the issue if not changed will continue to perpetuate crime.
While not every criminal reverts, problems within the criminal justice system are facilitating
recidivism.

The reasoning behind these harsher sentences is that "putting people in prison for years or even
decades should prevent offenders from re–offending by incapacitating them and/or deterring would–
be–offenders from committing crimes" (Wright, 6). The theory of deterrence and the aim of
incapacitation are well intended but are not concrete. Deterrence theoretically operates by
magnifying the certainty that there will be punishment for crimes. In hopes of deterring non
offenders from offending taking into account the consequences (usually confinement). "Research to
date generally indicates that increases in the certainty of punishment, as opposed to the severity of
punishment, are more likely to produce deterrent benefits" (Wright, 1). The seriousness of the
penalty should prompt the possible offenders to think twice or weigh their options prior to carrying
out a crime. Half of State inmates and a third of Federal prisoners reported committing their current
offense under the influence of alcohol or drugs (Mumola). This works against the deterrence theory
because while the individual is under the influence their thought process is dysfunctional. There isn't
a sound thought process in their mind while committing or before deciding whether or not to
commit the crime. "Therefore, it is unlikely that such persons are deterred by either the certainty or
severity of punishment because of their temporarily impaired capacity to consider the pros and cons

Education Is An Important Part Of Life
Education is an important part of life even for people who are already educated, but education never
ends. As a matter of fact, intelligence is constantly increasing, so educated people should not waste
such educations with unnecessary leisure activities like watching television when a person can
continually improve his or her education. In today's culture, an educated person should spend more
time reading than watching television because reading builds the reader's vocabulary and reinforces
the prior knowledge of particular terminology, but watching television requires no active thinking.
Challenging the mind is one of the greatest ways to improve it, so reading at higher levels,
regardless of age or education status, will build the vocabulary of a reader, thus making the reader a
more knowledgeable person. When a reader stumbles across an unfamiliar word in a sentence, he or
she may use context clues to figure out the meaning of the word, or this person could simply look up
the word in a dictionary or similar source. Seeing unfamiliar words challenges a reader's mind
because each word is introduced multiple times in order to define it: once when reading the sentence
the first time, twice after reading it the second time, three times in order to look up the word, and
four times when the reader uses the word's definition in place of the term in the sentence. These re–
introductions build a reader's vocabulary which is important because having a stronger vocabulary

Communication Is An Important Part Of A Business
Communication is an important part of a business to work. For a working environment to succeed, a
company's ideas, knowledge, or opinions are useless unless there is effective workplace
communication. Upward communication is the flow of information from frontline employees to
managers, supervisors, and directors. This process differs from the more commonly used method of
downward communication. Both communication processes require individuals to exchange
information with one another with the mindset to influence one's thoughts, behaviors, increase
understanding, and help the organization function smoothly. There are different variables that play a
part in organizational communication and a key factor is listening.
Within an organization, there are various methods of providing and gaining information. As
previously mentioned, upward communication is where employees speak directly to management.
This method allows employee's to participate in the organization. This open door policy keeps
managers aware of how subordinates feel about their job tasks, procedures, and the organization in
general. This communication channel implements a method called serial communication. Serial
communication is a type of upward communication method that passes information consecutively
from one person to another (Aamodt, p. 396). This system is similar to a chain reaction, where a
message is given from an employee to a supervisor till it eventually reaches an executive.

Notes Books : An Important Part Of Society
Traditions are an important part of society. Traditions help remind people of their roots. They are the
standards that have been set for years. Reading paper books has been a tradition for many years.
Words used to be recorded on rock, then papyrus, then it transferred to animal skin, and now we use
paper. Reading from a tangible object has been a tradition for hundreds of years. Paper books have
become a tradition, they can be passed on from generation to generation, and they have. Some
people believe that with all of the new technology, digital reading will pass the standard and break
the tradition of reading paper books. They believe that the convenience and compactness of e–
readers makes them better than paper books. Paper books will come out triumphant over e–readers.
Paper books are better than e–readers because they make the reader become involved physically and
emotionally. Paper books make reading an interactive activity. Paper books effectively enforce that
the readers involve all of their senses. When reading a paper book the person has to physically turn
the page. The reader has to touch the book, so the tactile sense is invoked. The reader will smell the
age of the paper and the ink. A new book smells like what I would imagine the beginning of new
adventure would smell like. An old book smells like wisdom, and wonder. The reader literally sees
the penned words, and an involved reader will be able to picture the words on the page transform

The Most Important Part Of A Team
The amount of action happening backstage of a sport is really exhausting. There 's multiple steps
and knowledge that has to be put in play. Coaches are probably the most important part of a team.
They are the ones that lead the team towards the main goal. One may think that winning is the main
key to success, but it is definitely not. It takes effort to be in a team but it takes a person with a lot of
patience, courage, and understanding to be a coach. Taking various actions like specific skills,
techniques and being an effective coach/ positive approach have a huge role in being a win–win
coach.
Sports can be traced back to 6000 BC. It was said that swimming and archery were first played and
the evidence was painted on caves. Baseball was invented in 1829. The first professional league was
formed in 1876. Later on the game of rugby became known as football in the United States. The first
game was played in 1869 between Rutgers and Princeton University. Although, during the 19th
century sports started to become actual official sports. (C 107–110)
A famous coach that is still looked upon is Tony Dungy. Tony Dungy was the first African American
head coach to win the superbowl . Dungy was the head coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from
1996 to 2001. In 2002, Dungy went on and coached the Indianapolis Colts in which he lead the to
win the superbowl in 2007. His salary was of five million dollars per year, which is not that high for
a man like him."The secret to success is

Princess Alice: An Important Part Of The Holocaust
There are many stories of the Holocaust, which occurred during World War II, but certain ones tend
to spark more interest in people than others. One of these stories is the one of Princess Alice. In
Battenberg, there was a person named Alice, or Princess Alice of Battenberg, as she was known as at
the time. Later, she would obtain the title Princess Alice of Greece. Many people remember this
famous person from the Holocaust. Alice is an important part of the Holocaust because she helped
many evade capture by the Nazis, the political party led by Hitler that led Germany through World
War II. In 1943, the German Army occupied Athens, where a minority of the Greek Jews had sought
refuge. The majority were deported to Nazi concentration camps,

Taking a break from the daily routine relieves stress simply by providing a change of scenery. The
excitement of getting ready for a trip can be a euphoric experience and the anticipation will take
your mind off daily petty problems that often seem larger than life. Getting away from your daily
experience helps to put your life in crystal clear terms and allows you to redefine what you find
important.
The stress relief benefits of traveling are amazing. Getting out of the grind gives you the ability to
rest and relax because you're miles away, free from your responsibilities. As women, we often
overextend ourselves to take care of everyone's needs before our own. You may not realize it, but
work, family and your daily routine can zap most of your energy and can require all of your

Music Is An Important Part Of Life
Music will always be an important part of life. Music can help soothe people, think better, get
people dancing and other things. Music will continue to get better and to change over time. I'm glad
we've been given the chance to go out and listen to live music outside of our normal range. For my
concert report, I went to see a band called Unity The Band. They were pretty good. The genre they
played was reggae. My experience started with my reactions, the style of it, and the things I liked
most about the music. To begin, my experience first begins with my reactions to the music. The
music is reggae, which I never took much time to listen to or consider as anything more than just a
type of music. My first reaction when I arrived and heard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This style of music really got to me because of the live instruments. Nowadays people make music
but don't have real instruments playing them. To experience music like this was a privilege. Lastly,
my experience was based on the things I liked or enjoyed about the band. There were multiple
things that I liked about it starting with the solos. I think the best solo was from the electric bass
player. I had never seen a bass player play a solo, but it was really good. It was a fast solo so he had
to be a great guitarist to play it that fast. Then, of course, the lead guitar solos, piano, drummer, and
my friend's solos. This type of music is something you can have fun with. The musicians can have
fun, but the audience can also have fun and groove out listening to it. Another thing I liked was how
friendly the band is. After the band performed, they were happy to officially meet my friend and
everyone else at our table. Although I didn't remember each of their names, I did search the band
online. One of the lead guitarist and vocalist is Kai "Pita" Katobalavu. The other lead guitarist and
vocalist was Anthony Robert Bessen. On the electric bass guitar was Timothy Perkins. One the drum

Fossil Fuels Are An Important Part Of The World
Introduction Fossil fuels are an extremely important part of the world we live in today. We often
take for granted being able to constantly have privileges because of the use of fossil fuels. Most
people do not generally think about the fossil fuels that they use, when they turn on a light and have
electricity or when they are driving and are getting from place to place because of the gas in their
tanks. However, as time goes on we have to be more conscious and realize that these fossil fuels are
non–renewable, so we use as little as possible to ensure that we will not run out. This paper is going
to delve deep into fossil fuels, why they are "non–renewable", the three different types specifically,

Like the others, coal was formed from the remains of trees and plants, and in some places it was
formed from swamps. They explain, "The sea water contained a large amount of sulfur, and as the
seas dried up, the sulfur was left behind in the coal" (DOE – Fossil Energy: How Fossil Fuels Were
Formed). There is some coal that is formed from freshwater swamps, where there is very little
sulfur. Due to the fact that sulfur is an air pollutant, scientists are working on being able to remove
the sulfur from the coal (DOE – Fossil Energy: How Fossil Fuels Were Formed).
Non–renewable
These fossil fuels are known as "non–renewable", because if we continue to use them at the pace we
do now we will run out. There is only a finite amount of each and due to the fact that we use so
much there will be no more left, at least as long as humans are around. By continuing to extract the
coal, oil, and natural gas, at the rate we are, we are hurting ourselves and the environment and
eventually it is going to catch up with us. Alternative Energy says, "...worst is the lack of preparation
for moving over to renewable energy sources in a manner that will minimize the unprecedented
economic and social disruption due to the impending depletion of this resource" (Fossil Fuel). We
have to find a way to promote using renewable energy to ensure our supply of fossil fuels does not

Internet Is More Important Part For Communication
INTRODUCTION:
Internet is getting more important part for communication. Internet is very powerful platform that
has changed way we communicate. The internet has become a globalized communication media.
But at the same time, computer hacking is increasing very rapidly.
Hackers are people, who try to get unauthorized access to the system. We can protect our systems by
using firewall and anti–virus software. But some users access internet for some very confidential
work, using firewall and antivirus are also not sufficient to keep communication secure.

Another example, Internet online banking, social networking or other services, you may be in the
risk of hacker from personal information and confidential information. Hacker may access your
information through unsecured connections or by virus software and then use your personal details
for their benefit. This may lead a very serious trouble.
For this problem the only solution is to detect the hacker and prevent hacker from the sites or just
block the IP address of the hacker. To gather as much as information as possible and detect the
attacker. This we can do with the Honeypot tool.
The goal of Honeypot is silently collect the information as much as possible about their attack

A Honeypot is used in computer and Internet security. It is a resource, which is intended to be

According to the American Journal of Public Health (1922), 75 of 83 larger cities within the United
States have recognized that education is an important part of health services within their health
departments. This number proves that this was a historical moment for health education because it
was known by many different states that health education must be implemented into medical
services in order to ensure that people are living healthy lifestyles and know the consequences of
doing certain things, such as smoking or eating unhealthy.
Another historical event that happened to bring forth changes in the health education system was the
implementation of the National Institute of Health. The National Institute of Health is one of the
leading institutions that are responsible for health–related research. This institution was vital to
health educators as it was put into place to help with finding out why diseases spread the way that

Is Sport An Important Part Of Nz Culture?
Is sport an important part of nz culture?
New Zealand has a very unique and a dynamic culture. Our culture is mixed and each one has its
importance in our society. I think sports has played a part in our identity, but it is our culture that
make us who we are.
Maori culture is indigenous, and in sports we can incorporate aspects of Maori language and
movements, such as, the He tama tu tama activity. I have also seen children playing the Maori
version of head, shoulders, knees and toes, which is very popular amongst younger children.
Overall, there are other sport activities that allows educators to integrate aspects of Maori, like water
sport. I think it gives a chance for students to be creative and actively participate in activities, but
also keeping in mind of the Maori culture and history.
Sports is a significant part of nz culture, for example, The Olympic Games have been an important
part of New Zealand 's interaction with the rest of the world. Sport has shaped our sense of cultural
well–being. As a small nation we have often seen achievement at sporting events like the Olympics
as a measure of our progression or status as a nation. Although, we have won a number of medals as
well.
Rugby is very important to us. It is a core part of kiwi culture and plays an important role. In
Europe, everyone plays soccer (or, should I say, football). In Japan, its baseball. But here, it is
definitely rugby.
We also have separate sport channels and time allocated at the end of the

Negligence Is An Important Part Of Tort
Study on Negligence
1.0 Introduction
Negligence can be defined as lack of proper care or attention (Ludowyk, & Moore, 2006).
Negligence is an important part of tort. A tort is defined as a civil wrong (other than a breach of
contract) in the form of a breach of duty for which the legal remedy is an award of damages.
Negligence is that a reasonable person doing something which may cause damage.
The purpose of this essay is to understand the three essentials of negligence. In order to fully
understand the three essentials, this essay shows some details about the three essentials. In addition,
this essay fully analyses the novus actus interveniens.

When the plaintiff wants to prove the defendant owed by negligence, he or ... Show more content on

3.1 Reasonable foreseeability
If the plaintiff's injury was not a reasonable foreseeable, the defendant did not have a duty of care. In
the case Tame v New South Wales (2002) 211 CLR 317, the plaintiff had been in a traffic accident.
She was tested and returned a zero blood alcohol level.
However, the police officer recorded as 0.14 by mistake. Later, it was correct. In addition, the
plaintiff's lawyer told her the truth and it would not affect her insurance. Then the plaintiff was
obsessed and had a mental problem. In this case, the plaintiff's mental problem is not a reasonable
foreseeable injury. Therefore, the police officer had not been under a duty of care and the state was
not liable.
3.2 Recognised duties of care
The way to recognise duties of care is to find if there is a law regarding relationship between the
plaintiff and the defendant (Pentony, 2013). For example, the teacher is under a general duty of care
to provide students a safe environment to study, or the manufactures need to provide a higher quality
good to customers.
3.3 Neighbourhood factors
If the case is not in an established category, the Court may look at the important characteristics of
this case to establish an existent 'neighbourhood' relationship to justify a duty of care. In order to
establish it, the Court needs to consider the plaintiff's weakness in the matter, whether the plaintiff
relays on the

Mathematics Is A Important Part Of The Curriculum Essay
I. Introduction In today's society mathematics is a vital part of day–to–day life. No matter what a
person is doing at home or at the workplace, he/she is constantly using different mathematics skills
to simply function. Then what does this mean for mathematics education? When someone needs to
utilize a skill every day then he/she needs a strong background in the skill. Therefore, today's
students need more than a just a working knowledge of mathematics or enough knowledge to pass a
test. Today's students need to understand how mathematics works and how to utilize mathematics
skills in the best way possible. II. Mathematics as an Important Part of Curriculum Mathematics
goes far beyond school. That is why it is such an important part of the curriculum. Dr. Richard
Restak said, "...intelligence is plastic and modifiable. All of our experiences result in the formation
of neuronal circuits. The richer, more varied, and more challenging the experiences, the more
elaborate the neuronal circuits." Learning mathematics can help form those neuronal circuits, which
is one of many reasons that mathematics is a vital part of school curriculum. Restak goes on to
discuss how the neurons formed by these challenging experiences help students learn other and
harder tasks and subjects. In "Teaching Kids Why Math Matters" Donaldson said, "A person 's
success in life depends on how well she can solve problems. No matter what her career or life
situation, she'll find satisfaction

Children Are An Important Part Of The Continuation Of...
Children are an important part of the continuation of humanity, both as a species and culturally.
However, there are few references, outside of the instances where laws in relation to orphans or
widows or introduced, that discuss children in the Old Testament. There are times where the birth of
a child is mentioned, as is the case when Eve bore Cain in Genesis 4.1. However, there is no
mention of his childhood. Rather, the story continues when he is an adult farmer. The New
Testament includes references to children other than as a reference to genealogy or to celebrate a
birth. These are very important to understanding the shift in tone from the previous books of the
Bible. In Matthew 18, the disciples ask Jesus who the greatest in the kingdom of heaven will be
(18.1). He calls a child from among them before answering in the following verse. Before
examining the answer, it is work noting that children are present. It is easy to forget when reading
through the previous books that there are children, whether they are the patriarch's, a villager's, or a
servant's, that could be present in many of the scenes depicted. They are not mentioned because their
presence is unimportant to that particular tale. However, here they are important. So important, that
Jesus feels the need to bring one to him. It is also important to note that the text only says that "[h]e
called a child" (4.2). This child is not identified as male or female, the fact is irrelevant to this
particular story.

Religion : An Important Part Of Human Nature
Since the beginning of time, religion has long been an important part of human nature. Religion is
closely connected with our culture, politics, social relationships, as well as economics. Whether we
attend a cathedral or a temple for our place of worship, religion embeds itself into our daily lives.
One of the most unique religions is Mormonism. Mormonism: what is this religion and what does it
mean? While many misconceptions arise about this religion and what they believe in, like any other
religion they believe, hope, and rejoice in their savior, Jesus Christ. We can learn to appreciate the
uniqueness of this religion by taking the time examine its history and beliefs, how women and men
experience this religion, as well as how it differs from traditional religions such as Christianity. As
with any religion, one of the most important pieces to learn is how the religion was created and who
played an important part in doing so. Mormonism, also known as the Church of the Latter–Day
Saints came about in 1830. Mormonism was founded by Joseph Smith, in the 19th century in
Western New York. This was a major period of religious awakening for America. When Joseph was
only 14 years old, he asked God for guidance, as he was confused with the direction his faith was
headed. Shortly after asking for guidance, he declared he had a vision that was accompanied with a
visit from the Father, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus Christ whom told him that all religions were wrong,

Hospitality : An Important Part Of Homeric Society
All societies have rules, expectations and customs that when taken together make up what we know
as culture. One of the best ways to learn about ancient cultures is through study of the stories they
told that demonstrate their ethical beliefs and connect to the practicalities of human life during
ancient times. Hospitality was one of the most prominent virtues during Homeric times. Hospitality
was an important cultural value for Greek society and was deeply rooted in the definition of who
they believed themselves to be and also characterized their gods, legends and heroes.
Hospitality is an important part of Homeric society and is clearly shown in the Odyssey. Closely
related to Xenia, the Greek relationship between guest and host, hospitality provided a practical
solution for safe travel into the territory of others. Hospitality shown toward strangers and travelers
is a significant feature in many of the myths and stories of the ancient world and help us to
understand why it was offered; what was expected, and how their actions reveal some deeper
understanding about ancient society.
Hospitality was expected of all good men that strangers be treated politely; the best example is how
Telemachus greets Athena, who is disguised as Mentes.
" With such thoughts, sitting amongst the suitors, he saw Athene and went straight to the forecourt,
the heart within him scandalized that a guest should still be standing at the doors. He stood beside
her and took her by the right hand,

Important Parts Of A Cell
Introduction
The body is made up of billions and billions of cells that make up tissues that make up organs,
which make up organ systems. Within those cells are organelles including but not limited to a
nucleus, organelles, and cytosol. Cells are one of the most basic units of our bodies. With that being
said, it is safe to say that cells are extremely important. There are many parts of a cell and many
ways that a cell works. One of the most important parts of a cell is the plasma membrane. The
plasma membrane is the outer surface of a cell, which is made up of things called phospholipids,
which form a phospholipid bilayer. This bilayer is made up of phospholipids (75%), cholesterol
(20%), and glycoproteins (5%). This bilayer is only possible due to the phospholipids being
amphipathic (polar and non polar parts). Phospholipids are composed of a hydrophilic (water
loving) head and 2 hydrophobic (water fearing) tails. The Plasma membrane separates the cell's
internal environment from its external environment. It also "plays a key role in communication
among cells and between cells and their external environment," (Tortora 60).
Many different proteins are located all throughout the plasma membrane. Some float around freely
and others are stationary in specific locations. For example, integral proteins extend all the way
through the lipid bilayer and go further into the interior of the cell. This makes them transmembrane
proteins due to the fact that they go all the way

Teaching Is A Important Part Of The Nursing Process

important part of the nursing process. Teaching is important for the patient and family to understand
the importance of their care, and it allows them to make an informed decision on the care they
receive. To appropriately teach a patient we must look at the patient's background, make a nursing
diagnosis, develop behavioral objectives, outline the teaching plan, and evaluate the teaching's
effectiveness.

Women who become infected with measles, mumps, or rubella (MMR) while pregnant can cause

Marriage Is An Important Part Of Their Culture And Heritage

  • 1. Marriage Is An Important Part Of Their Culture And Heritage Marriage Culture For certain countries arranged marriage is an important part of their culture and heritage. Like in the essay What's Love Got to Do with It? by Anjula Razdan, Anjula's family that immigrated to America from the country of India believed in arranged marriage because that was the culture they were a part of before they left India. In India the grandfather chooses who he thinks is the best suitable partner for his grandchild, which is nothing like how Americans choose their life partners. While Americans believe in marrying for love, that might not be the best way of marriage for other countries due to family reactions, success rates, and the benefits of marriage. The family's reaction is a very important part of marriage. How your family feels about your soon to be husband or wife helps to show if the marriage is a good or bad idea. In arranged marriage the family chooses who they think will benefit you and them the most, and most of the time your parents do know what is best for you. Even though in arranged marriage you are marrying a complete stranger, most arranged marriages grow stronger and fall more in love the longer the marriage lasts and if the couple has had children also plays a role in if the marriage will last or not. Arranged marriages can be useful by bringing two families together through marriage or to make an alliance between two families, for example the essay "What's Love Got To Do With It?" by Anjula Razdan "... arranged marriages were ... • 3. Relationships Are An Important Part Of Human Existence Relationships are an important part of human existence. To survive, we must build these connections. They consume every facet of our lives. We encounter many different relationships in our lifetime. We are a sibling, friend, parent, child, co–worker, spouse, lover and many more. It is a part of who we are and how we relate to the world around us. It is how we develop and nurture these relationships that make the difference in our lives. Relationships are complicated, but can be rewarding when all parties are seeking the same goal. We learn to balance our interactions and seek to find a way of fitting them into our everyday lives. The best relationships are ones that are built on mutual trust, understanding, and respect for each other. When they don't work out, we may feel a sense of failure or sadness. They are often hard to let go of, even if they are dysfunctional and unhealthy for us and the people we are surrounded by. In" Learning to Fall", there are multiple relationships being described. Ruth is a single mother who is doing her best to raise her young son Andrew and keep a positive outlook on life. The relationship she has with her son is nurturing and loving. Andrew is striving to become independent and resents his mother being too mushy, especially in front of other people. What makes this a bit more complicated and special, is the fact that Andrew was born with disabilities. Ruth also has a friendship with the narrator. The two women appear close and seem to ... • 5. Art Is An Important Part Of Education What is art? Is it just painting or can it be a number of creations, such as, music, dancing, theater, pictures, sculptures, poems, stories, or videos. When I think of art, I think of all of these different creations listed as art. Art is anything that can inspire a person, or create feelings from looking, touching, or hearing. The definition of art is "the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power (google.com)." Art is a way for humans to communicate what they feel in their hearts. Although, some people may not agree that art is an important part of education without it education could have been lost today. In the past ten years that I know of, art has slowly been fading away in the educational environment. This can be any subject from: theater, dance, band, and even just art classes in general. Our education has slowly started to only focus on core academic classes. While some people in our education system may not perceive this as a true fact; there is evidence to support that art has declined in public education. "For theater and dance in elementary schools, the percentages of schools making these art forms available went from 20 percent 10 years ago to only 4 and 3 percent, respectively, in the 2009–10 school year. In addition, at more than 40 percent of secondary schools, coursework in the art was not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Music Is A Important Part Of Our Life "Without music, life would be a mistake." Music is a very important part of our live, and those who make music are very special in this world. Music not being involved in my life would result in harmonies and melodies leaving me totally empty. When I was younger , I didn't have the great love for music as I do now entering the second year of college. I mainly listened to whatever was playing either in the background or what my mom was listening to. I can personally say that I didn't have much of a care for musical compositions. At the time I didn't have a preference of the particular genre of music much, but now as I am older, I enjoy it as it allows me to reminisce on memories from specific times in my childhood. Once after I had hit my teenage years music began to become my life and gradually started to inhibit on my soul. Music has the ability to convey all sorts of emotions in my personal opinion. Whether the emotion is happiness or sadness and despair through foot tapping rhythms, harmonies and the lyrics music shows it. The musical images that music and song are able to portray and create are amazing. Music has created the ability to turn or transport me back in time just like a time machine. Allowing me to revisit lost and forgotten moments in life. Songs can paint a picture, for example in classical and country music where a story is being told compared to pop songs. The music in classical music tells a story without lyrics which is a strong and powerful thing. I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Hippocampus: The Most Important Part Of The Brain Your best friends invite you over for some pizza, and a friendly game of cards, you just relax and enjoy yourself. You don't really realize how many different parts of your brain come into play so that you can speak, remember and think. Your hypothalamus, occipital lobe, hippocampus, and Broca's area are just a few of the major pieces to the big system involved in your brain. Your hippocampus is involved in helping you store long term declarative memories. While sitting, you and your friends start remembering how you met in elementary school. Without the hippocampus, you would have no idea how your friendship first started. You are playing your card game; you remember the tricks your dad taught you when you were ten. Without the hippocampus you would have no recollection of these memories. The hypothalamus regulates your body temperature, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You and your fiends team up during your card game, and your friend signals to you that she has the cards to win the game. Without a functioning optical lobe, you would see her signal to you, but not understand what she is doing. In the end, you would probably lose the game as a result. The final and most important part of the brain is the Broca's area. You don't really think about talking, you just say what's on your mind. Imagine sitting in a room with your best friends and not being able to communicate with them. You know in your head what you want to say, but it doesn't come out correctly. It would drive me crazy, and people who damaged their Broca's area experience this. Without this part of your brain, you have would really have a hard time talking to your friends. You don't really realize how important your brain is, but this shows you just how important your brain really is. We don't really think about how lucky we are to have each of these parts functioning correctly. Hopefully we never have to experience any of these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. An Important Part Of Interpersonal Communication Feedback is known to be an important part of interpersonal communication. It lets speakers know what impact their words are having. When others have an opportunity to respond, a dialogue is created and the content of the messages can be adjusted, or even improved. This dynamic is applied every day in health care settings. Medical professionals rely on feedback throughout their careers to enhance the quality care they provide. Patients enter clinics and emergency rooms seeking feedback from physicians about what is happening to their bodies. Together, medical staff and patients must depend on feedback to reach a diagnosis and find the best course of treatment. Physicians and other medical staff collectively examine patients: recording their vitals, taking an accurate history, and performing a thorough review of certain body systems. All of this is done based on the patients' chief complaints. Their bodies are sending feedback signals, trying to tell them something is wrong, such as an infection like pneumonia. Patients cannot interpret this feedback themselves, so they seek medical services to further examine them. Sometimes the feedback patients' bodies send is not very clear. Many diagnoses share signs and symptoms, so physicians should consider other factors as well. The patient may have other conditions that put them at particular risk for other problems to arise. If physicians or staff fail to further investigate in these situations, a potential for serious consequences ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Slavery Is An Important Part Of American History Slavery is an important part of American history regardless of what generation you come from. The topic may be an uncomfortable subject however there is a lot you can learn from the experiences and the stories slaves like Harriet Jacobs tell in Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl. There are several moments through her life that really challenged and complimented my understanding of slavery in American history. The incidents that really swayed me where when she found out she was pregnant, certain the lessons taught by her master, and her trip to Philadelphia. Harriet Jacobs, or Linda Brent, had a relationship with her master that involved fear and restraint. Dr. Flint, her master, was very covetous of the young slave girl refusing to sell her to another master. Although she feared him, she could not escape him and ultimately she let him take advantage of her. This incident in her life stuck out to me because it showed how slave families seriously disapprove of intercourse with their masters despite there being no consent. I had always believed that a family would understand that because the master had forced his will on you, the eyes of god would still see you as pure. The reaction by her grandmother to initially shun her and say, "You have disgraced your dead mother" seemed very harsh. In my opinion this incident is important for people to be aware of for the reason that although you may feel powerless in a situation, you can never let someone impose their will against ... • 15. Gesture Is An Important Part Of Language Gesture is an important part of language the world over. Apart from sign languages, gestures, or talking with one's hands, largely go unnoticed by a majority of speakers. That being said, there are some gestures that are so integral to a language that ignoring them is impossible. Such gestures can widely vary across languages and the world, and making a mistake with them can be disastrous. To alleviate some of this confusion, incorporating gestures into dictionaries of a specific language or country may be helpful, as well as indexing and recording such gestures. This process, though, may prove to be a complicated endeavor. Gestures, due to their ubiquitous use and arbitrary meanings, should be indexed conclusively into dictionaries of their corresponding languages and possibly even resources of their own. Gesture is an incredibly effective way to convey an idea and are an essential part of many languages. In most languages, gesture serves as a way to emphasize speech or to say a short phrase without speaking. They have been conventionalized in society, and while they do not have all the same linguistic properties as words do, their meaning within their culture is undeniable. As Rousseau says, "one speaks more effectively to the eye than to the ear." (8) It can be hard to mistake something as simple as a head nod or a wave in greeting. Gestures such as the ones above and others such as thumbs–up, now ingrained in social media sites such as Facebook, are everywhere in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. School Is An Important Part Of Our Lives School is an important part of our lives. School help prepare our children for college and later on life in the big world. Since school is such an important part of our lives, there are many types for schools that have been developed with different viewpoints and ways of teaching. First, you have our public schools. Next, is our religious affiliated private schools and our non–religion affiliated private schools. Lastly, are the alternative schools. Public schools are schools that are funded by the state. A majority of students in the U.S. attend public schools. My children attend public schools and in a public school there is no need to pay money to attend public schools. The good things about public schools is that it's free to attend and they provide their students with school buses for transportation. Although, a bad thing would be if you want your child to attend a certain public school and you do not live their district, then you would have to pay tuition. Private schools are very common especially in foreign countries. In foreign countries schools are private because usually the government does not have the money needed to fund a public school. There are two types of private schools; religious and non–religious private schools. Firstly, private schools are simply schools that are not funded by the state, that have the ability to make their own codes and rules, such as wearing a school uniform. • 19. Communication Is An Important Part Of Lives Communication Challenges Communication is an important part of lives. Unfortunately, not all of us are blessed with good communication skills. Poor communication can cause conflicts in our personal and professional lives. However, good communication will strengthen relationships and lead to success both personally and professionally. A little over a year ago, I went to the eye doctor for my yearly exam; I told him that I was having trouble reading things up close. Much to my surprise my vision had improved and my contacts were just too strong. Before I left, we talked about ordering new contacts and new glasses since my prescription had changed. A month later I called my eye doctor's office to see if my new contacts had come in since I had not heard from them. It seems that Dr. Thomason and I had a miscommunication, he thought I was coming back to pick out glasses when he received some new frames and I thought he was ordering contacts and I was coming back to look at the new frames when they came in. This is just one example of how poor communication can cause problems. In this case we were both guilty of not listening or hearing only what we want to. Poor listening can lead to many problems. Unfortunately, even when we are good listeners there can still be communication problems. Sometimes it is difficult to understand what the speaker is saying. There were a lot of times at my former job when my boss was telling me something and I did not know what he was talking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Pesticides : An Important Part Of Farming It is easy to take for granted how the food we eat was grown, how the putting green at a local golf course is so nice, or how decorative houseplants become so large and beautiful. The secret behind all these everyday pleasures is fertilizers. Fertilizers supply the nutrients necessary to a plant that are not as abundant as oxygen, hydrogen, and carbon. Fertilizers are an important part of farming because it allows for better growth and a larger yield. Not only are fertilizers important for farming, but they are also used on golf courses, private lawns, and in gardening and landscaping. Chemistry is the very foundation of fertilization due to the chemical elements and how they operate, the purpose behind fertilizer, the time frame, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many people initially picture manure when the term fertilizer is mentioned or discussed. Manure was traditionally used as a fertilizer, but modern fertilizers consist of different elements engineered chemically along with natural animal manure, compost, and other organic matter. Modern fertilizers really became popular after WWII around 1945 because of the excess ammonia, its availability, and low cost [13]. Ammonia was then used for nitrogen fertilizers, but little research was done on them. After researching and gaining knowledge on the amount of fertilizer needed and how the plants were affected by the fertilizer, the system became much more effective. The modern fertilizer industry is worth $10 billion dollars in the United States today [2]. This is a massive industry where both imports and exports are worth billions of dollars. Fertilizers are usually a combination of different elements. These elements can be split up into macro and micronutrients. The macronutrients are the main nutrients a plant needs to support healthy growth, whereas the plant needs less micronutrients. There are six macronutrients: nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, calcium, sulfur, and magnesium. The macronutrients nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium require the highest amount of application and are emphasized the most. The remaining three macronutrients – calcium, sulfur, and magnesium – require a lower application amount. The micronutrients consist of zinc, copper, iron, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 23. Education Is An Important Part Of Society Education was an important part of society. Since the Cold War and the Soviet Union's successful launch of Sputnik in October of 1957, improvements of education was necessary. In the 1960's, John F. Kennedy developed proposals to ensure the American education system were competitive with students all around the world. His proposals were to ensure that every race, and religion would receive a good education. However, not every child was receiving the same education opportunities based on money issues surrounding them and the minority they were classified as, the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 was to ensure that these issues would be dissolve. On January 8th of 2002, six months and one war later after George W. Bush first proposed the No Child Left Behind bill, it was finally passed. Under the No Child Left Behind, every state was required to develop and implement strict academic standards in reading and math. These standards obliged by law to every student– regardless of ethnicity, social class, or mental ability– to ensure that in twelve years, one hundred percent of students could demonstrate satisfactory skills (Hudson 44). The law also required states to create their own test and assessments, to be administrated to the third through eighth grade annually. The results of these tests determined how much funding the school would get. If the test scores were low, the school would not get as much funds as a school with high test score would get. • 25. The Holocaust : A Important Part Of History The Holocaust is a topic that some think of as a very essential part of history that students should learn about. On the other hand, some would argue that it is too severe for middle school students. Without a doubt, Nazis abused their large power and used it towards destruction and in so, violated civil rights and killed 6 million Jews. The Holocaust was a turning point in history that is only taught based on the judgement of schools. The Holocaust Museum in Houston says, "During the Holocaust religious, moral, and legal systems failed in deterring the dangers of prejudice." This can compare to how there is a large debate on whether students should or shouldn't learn about the Holocaust and topics similar to it. The Holocaust was a major part of history that has influenced many people and advanced the future to where we are now; thus, we should educate the the younger generation since teaching about the Holocaust enables you to advance into a better human being, students can use their critical thinking skills, and it honors those who have passed and survived. The students who have educated themselves about the Holocaust understand that the Nazis were terrible and desecrated basic human rights and liberties. This allows them to become a better citizen with the interpretation that they serve humanity for the better. "Three may keep a secret, if two of them are dead." I believe that you should always keep secrets no matter what and not go around spreading the things that you have heard. Learning to not tell secrets is a good lesson to learn. When I first read that quote, it reminded me of a tv show that I watched growing up called 'Pretty little liars'. Watching the show made me realized that, you always gotta be careful who your friends are. In the show and in real life you get friends who will blackmail you and make you do something that you didn't want to do. If you fall into the traps of what the people do, then that is going to make your life worse than what it could be. In my life personally I've had friends that I've told everything to and next thing I knew my friend became my enemy. They went around and twisted my words and told everyone my worst parts of me. So from then on I never really opened up to anyone since and learned that I need to be careful to who I confined in. I also think of the quote ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Recidivism occurs anytime an individual reverts to committing illegal activities, after they have endured some form of punishment for a previous (if not the same) crime. Every neighborhood and every community experiences crime. Every community sends its criminals away and once their time is served they are released back into that same community. Under the canopy of recidivism, regardless of the specific type of crime, the issue if not changed will continue to perpetuate crime. While not every criminal reverts, problems within the criminal justice system are facilitating recidivism. To be considered a recidivist, a person that was once ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reasoning behind these harsher sentences is that "putting people in prison for years or even decades should prevent offenders from re–offending by incapacitating them and/or deterring would– be–offenders from committing crimes" (Wright, 6). The theory of deterrence and the aim of incapacitation are well intended but are not concrete. Deterrence theoretically operates by magnifying the certainty that there will be punishment for crimes. In hopes of deterring non offenders from offending taking into account the consequences (usually confinement). "Research to date generally indicates that increases in the certainty of punishment, as opposed to the severity of punishment, are more likely to produce deterrent benefits" (Wright, 1). The seriousness of the penalty should prompt the possible offenders to think twice or weigh their options prior to carrying out a crime. Half of State inmates and a third of Federal prisoners reported committing their current offense under the influence of alcohol or drugs (Mumola). This works against the deterrence theory because while the individual is under the influence their thought process is dysfunctional. There isn't a sound thought process in their mind while committing or before deciding whether or not to commit the crime. "Therefore, it is unlikely that such persons are deterred by either the certainty or severity of punishment because of their temporarily impaired capacity to consider the pros and cons of ... As a matter of fact, intelligence is constantly increasing, so educated people should not waste such educations with unnecessary leisure activities like watching television when a person can continually improve his or her education. In today's culture, an educated person should spend more time reading than watching television because reading builds the reader's vocabulary and reinforces the prior knowledge of particular terminology, but watching television requires no active thinking. Challenging the mind is one of the greatest ways to improve it, so reading at higher levels, regardless of age or education status, will build the vocabulary of a reader, thus making the reader a more knowledgeable person. When a reader stumbles across an unfamiliar word in a sentence, he or she may use context clues to figure out the meaning of the word, or this person could simply look up the word in a dictionary or similar source. Seeing unfamiliar words challenges a reader's mind because each word is introduced multiple times in order to define it: once when reading the sentence the first time, twice after reading it the second time, three times in order to look up the word, and four times when the reader uses the word's definition in place of the term in the sentence. These re– introductions build a reader's vocabulary which is important because having a stronger vocabulary allows a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For a working environment to succeed, a company's ideas, knowledge, or opinions are useless unless there is effective workplace communication. Upward communication is the flow of information from frontline employees to managers, supervisors, and directors. This process differs from the more commonly used method of downward communication. Both communication processes require individuals to exchange information with one another with the mindset to influence one's thoughts, behaviors, increase understanding, and help the organization function smoothly. There are different variables that play a part in organizational communication and a key factor is listening. Within an organization, there are various methods of providing and gaining information. As previously mentioned, upward communication is where employees speak directly to management. This method allows employee's to participate in the organization. This open door policy keeps managers aware of how subordinates feel about their job tasks, procedures, and the organization in general. This communication channel implements a method called serial communication. Learning mathematics can help form those neuronal circuits, which is one of many reasons that mathematics is a vital part of school curriculum. However, there are few references, outside of the instances where laws in relation to orphans or widows or introduced, that discuss children in the Old Testament. There are times where the birth of a child is mentioned, as is the case when Eve bore Cain in Genesis 4.1. However, there is no mention of his childhood. Rather, the story continues when he is an adult farmer. The New Testament includes references to children other than as a reference to genealogy or to celebrate a birth. These are very important to understanding the shift in tone from the previous books of the Bible. In Matthew 18, the disciples ask Jesus who the greatest in the kingdom of heaven will be (18.1). He calls a child from among them before answering in the following verse. Before examining the answer, it is work noting that children are present. It is easy to forget when reading through the previous books that there are children, whether they are the patriarch's, a villager's, or a servant's, that could be present in many of the scenes depicted. They are not mentioned because their presence is unimportant to that particular tale. However, here they are important. So important, that Jesus feels the need to bring one to him. It is also important to note that the text only says that "[h]e called a child" (4.2). This child is not identified as male or female, the fact is irrelevant to this particular story. ... • 73. Important Parts Of A Cell Introduction The body is made up of billions and billions of cells that make up tissues that make up organs, which make up organ systems. Within those cells are organelles including but not limited to a nucleus, organelles, and cytosol. Cells are one of the most basic units of our bodies. With that being said, it is safe to say that cells are extremely important. There are many parts of a cell and many ways that a cell works. One of the most important parts of a cell is the plasma membrane. The plasma membrane is the outer surface of a cell, which is made up of things called phospholipids, which form a phospholipid bilayer. This bilayer is made up of phospholipids (75%), cholesterol (20%), and glycoproteins (5%). This bilayer is only possible due to the phospholipids being amphipathic (polar and non polar parts). Phospholipids are composed of a hydrophilic (water loving) head and 2 hydrophobic (water fearing) tails. The Plasma membrane separates the cell's internal environment from its external environment. It also "plays a key role in communication among cells and between cells and their external environment," (Tortora 60). Many different proteins are located all throughout the plasma membrane. Some float around freely and others are stationary in specific locations. For example, integral proteins extend all the way through the lipid bilayer and go further into the interior of the cell. This makes them transmembrane proteins due to the fact that they go all the way ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
