Rite Aid Benefits
In middle school, everyone should have a future career in mind. I would love to be a pharmacist
sometime in the future. Allowing me to visit Rite Aid would benefit both parts. If I am given
the opportunity to visit Rite Aid, it would give me experience. Obviously I won t catch on right
away, but visiting could really help me to get a better understanding of the job. It would expose
me to what I am going to have to deal with, so I won t be caught so off guard on my first day. It
would be good experience to let me visit Rite Aid. Visiting Rite Aid will improve the company s
reputation in the community. People will see that they are helping out the youth and respect them
for it. Also, if other kids see this happening, they will want to visit

Occlusal Detections
Clinical Tip #11
Unless your work environment is a pediatric office, or in an oral surgeon s office, you will not be
requested to take many occlusal projections. However, it is important to remember how this task
is achieved, because intermittently in your career you will be asked to take occlusal projections.
You must be ready for all types of radiography.

Comparing Siddhartha Gautama And Mahayana Buddhism
If history has taught us anything, is that whoever has the power gets heard the most. Minorities get
pushed aside unless aided by a higher voice. Likewise with the universal relgions of Mahayana
Buddhisma and Christanity, Ashoka and Constantine served as vessels of higher authority in the
spreading of their respective religions. Without political support, the spread of new concepts like
religionhave a harder time seeping into the mindsets of societies. Often these ideas undergo
discrimination, if not termination altogether.
Siddhartha Gautama, or Buddha, was responsible for the philosophy of Buddhism. With the caste
system in place in India, it was difficult for the people in that civilization to do much that was

Moral Undertone And Valuable Lessons In The Simpsons
The Simpsons, while is not a perfect show, has more of a moral undertone and valuable lessons
compared to that of Family Guy. Homer and Marge are the parents in the Simpsons living within
the town of Springfield with their three children Lisa, Bart, and Maggie. Even though the family
may have their moments where they struggle to get along and understand each other, like in
cases where Bart is involved in some kind of trouble that may result in Homer strangling him,

children are taken care of. He makes it clear that he take his responsibility as a father seriously

The Five Disciplines By Peter Senge
Five Disciplines by Peter Senge are: 1.System thinking. 2.Personal mastery. 3.Mental models.
4.Shared vision. 5.Team learning. 1. System Thinking: System thinking is nothing but instead of
focusing on only one particular issue, we have to analyze and try to understand the entire system
on the whole. With this kind of analyzation, we can easily find a solution to the problem as the
problems are not confined to only a particular area or time. We might find a solution for a
particular issue, somewhere in the whole system by analyzing the entire system completely. We
should try to relate the actions and the consequences on the whole as the issues occur at different
time levels, not confined to only one particular time level. We have to have knowledge of the
relation between different departments of an organization and the relation between them and the
functionality between the departments as to how they are related in an organization. We generally
focus on only one particular issue rather than seeing the bug picture and that shouldn t be done. In
system thinking we analyze the big picture. 2. Personal Mastery: It is when a person has a clear
goal and can analyze the reality, when these both are combined then the person can achieve
Personal mastery. Seeing and telling the truth is the main and the first thing in personal mastery.
With personal mastery we can create rules and methods necessary to achieve the goal. As per
Senge, training and utilizing the powers of

The Dark Knight Themes
The Dark Knight A Power Struggle
Batman, a name synonymous with the word hero. He was first introduced to the world in
Detective Comics #27 (artist Bob Kane, writer Bill Finger, 1939). He quickly became a fan
favourite and has since then seen numerous film, television, and video game adaptations. The first
film adaptation being Batman (Lambert Hillyer, 1943), a mere 4 years after his introduction in
1939. Throughout his tenured career Batman has faced numerous villains, each of them
reinforcing the themes of evil vs good, power, and anarchy vs order. The themes are especially
prevalent when Batman faces off against his arch rival, and foil, the Joker. In The Dark Knight
(Christopher Nolan, 2008) these themes are perfectly encapsulated in the Joker interrogation
scene. Almost an hour and half into the film is when the interrogation scene takes place. The
scene lasts for approximately five minutes and is comprised of 79 cuts. In a way, the scene
almost has three acts. It starts off with the Joker s perspective of Commissioner Gordon entering
the room to begin his interrogation of the Joker. The Joker is framed to the right, while Gordon
is framed to the left. From the very first shot of the scene, the theme of power is presented. The
over the shoulder shot, combined with a slight dolly in, conveys to the audience that Joker is the
one in control. As Gordon walks up we see that the Joker is completely shrouded in darkness, with
only his face being visible. This portrays the

Elite Athletes Demonstrate Acceptable Standards Of...
Have you ever noticed that athletes wear new colours all the time? Well, recently many elite
athletes have been sporting the colour orange, orange as in prison jumpsuits, because that s where
they are heading, off to jail for committing offences that are definitely not up to an acceptable
standard of professionalism.
Good evening ladies, gentlemen, adjudicators and the opposition. The topic of tonight s debate is
that elite athletes demonstrate acceptable standards of professionalism. We, as the negative team,
strongly disagree with this. By now our first speaker would have convinced you that elite athletes
definitely do not demonstrate acceptable standards of professionalism by revealing that elite
athletes are taught to have a win ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These so called elite athletes are so professional , then why do we even have the need for drug
testing? If elite athletes demonstrated an acceptable standard of professionalism, then there would
be no need for this drug testing business because the athletes would be able to be trusted. As our
first speaker has stated, elite athletes have a winning mindset. This could be one of the reasons
they choose to use as an excuse for taking drugs and cheating, to be the best all the time, because
that it how they were brought up. A study shows that doping prevalence may be as high as 48%.
Even before elite level they take low level drugs such as: pre workout drugs, Anabolic steroids,
Androstenedione, Human Growth Hormone (HGH), Erythropoietin, Diuretics, Creatine and
Stimulants. These drugs are so harmful, yet so many are constantly using them. What kind of
imprint is this making on our youth, the young, impressionable minds of today, that look up to
these elite athletes as their role models? This brings me on to my next point, regarding why athletes
need the good behavioural contracts to stipulate their behaviour.
Why do elite athletes need good behavioural contracts to stipulate what they can and can t do? If
their professionalism was to an acceptable standard, then they would already know what they can
and can t do. Many of the behavioural contracts have clauses that stipulate that the elite athletes may

Boosting Chilean Wine Brand Through Montgras
(a) To what extent can MontGras control its own market position, as opposed to being dominated
7by the country of origin effect, and be perceived as a Chilean Wine ?
Changing the overall image of its companies wines are added to its market positioning strategy.
Even though the branding as a Chilean Wine is easily applied onto MontGras, there are many
factors in its control which can make sure that the company dominates the market by having a
bigger share as it wants to. MontGras though being smaller than some Chilean wineries, it has
been able to stand out due to its interest in high quality wines. The company wants to establish
itself as the low price yet high quality provider of wines. This is directly related to the seeds, the soil

Thus, Cabo imports are the best option for MontGras at the moment.
The UK market with respect to MontGras:
Unlike the fragmented US market, the UK was not tiered and it was also one of the most
competitive export sources in the World. One major point to consider in this market is the tax
that is levied on alcoholic drinks which is 1 pound per bottle regardless of the retail price. This
would also mean that the export of Reservas would be more beneficial as compared to Varietals
(this is in line with the company s strategic decisions as well). Again in this case, MontGras has 2
options to decide in terms of partners. The first one is the distributor that the company has been
having for a while now (since 1996). The distributor had helped MontGras gain a good position in
restaurants and other retail market too (on premise and off premise). The second option is the
leading supermarket chain Tesbury, which with the help of few promotions made the total sales
skyrocket in just a few days.
The most likely option to choose would be the currently existing distributor since completely
siding with Tesbury would majorly go against the positioning strategy planned out by MontGras.
Also in my opinion, the high volume in sales (at Tesbury) was only due to the promotion event
which is just temporary (3 days) and we will have to look into the big picture i.e. sales round the
year.

Women Are More Romanticly Attracted To Men
The belief that women are more romantically attracted to men caring for and acting in a nurturing
and comforting way to babies has become a rather popular opinion in today s society. The reason
for this, to many, is unknown, but the theme has made it into movies, books and even magazines.
For example, in the movie Marley and Me, Sebastian (the best friend) uses John s (the main
character) child to impress and grab the attention of a woman. Sebastian believes the child is an
easy conversation starter and the woman will think highly of him if she sees that he is
responsible enough to take care of a child. Another example can be found from the movie Big
Daddy. In this movie the main character agrees to take care of a 4 year old to impress his... Show

(GuГ©guen, 2014). By tracking these facials cues is referring to actually interpreting what the
man is thinking as opposed to display rules? Being able to track and understand what the man is
thinking behind what his face may be saying allows the woman to respond appropriately to the
mans expressions. Being able to do so allegedly helps women pick out men with good paternal
qualities. According to Rajalakshmi Sriram and Prachee G. Navalkar, good fathers are described
as being sturdy oaks . These ideal fathers with outstanding parental qualities consist of seven
domains; commitment, stewardship, caring and changing their own parenting to adapt to the
children s changing needs, providing challenges along with relaxation by helping to reduce stress,
need for guidance, relating to the child, and finally being a mentor to the child. (Sriram Navalkar,
2012). This specific article studied characteristics of Indian fathers, but they relate very much to
any culture. Tracking facial cues of parental qualities is shown in several different studies
including a specific one by James R. Roney who believed that women track cues of parental and

Approximately three to four percent of babies born every...
Approximately three to four percent of babies born every year are born with some kind of
genetic disorder. A genetic disorder is described as an illness caused by an error in one s
genome, and is usually hereditary. To understand how these errors occur, one must first
understand the basic concept of genes. Genes are the basic units of heredity and are made up of
pieces of DNA that instruct the cell how to make specific proteins. Humans are estimated to have
about 20,000 to 30,000 genes in their genome. Chromosomes contain these genes and DNA.
Humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes or a total of 46 chromosomes. One pair of these
chromosomes determines the sex of a person while the other 22 are autosomal, meaning that they

This event is called nondisjunction. Down Syndrome is the most common example of a trisomy
chromosomal abnormality among humans. An individual who suffers from Down Syndrome, also
known as Trisomy 21 would have three copies of chromosome 21 instead of the usual two, resulting
in a
total of 47 chromosomes. Those who suffer from Down Syndrome have intellectual disability and
are usually marked by short stature, short, stocky arms and legs, flattened facial features, slanted
eyes, and other symptoms that range in severity depending on the person. An example of a
monosomy chromosomal abnormality would be Turner Syndrome. Turner Syndrome only occurs
in women and is caused by monosomy X, which is an absence of that entire sex chromosome,
leaving only 45 chromosomes. Women affected by Turner Syndrome usually have normal
intelligence but are characterized by their short stature, loss of ovarian function, and sometimes a
webbed neck or swelling of hands and feet. The second type of chromosomal abnormalities is
structural abnormalities. These include abnormalities due to deletions, duplications, translocations,
inversions, or rings. Deletions are when a part of a chromosome is either missing or deleted. An
example of disorder caused by deletion is Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome which occurs due to partial
deletion of the short arm of chromosome 4. Duplications occur when a portion of a

Chesapeake Shores
Even though your series Chesapeake Shores has come to an end as far as a book series goes,
will you ever consider writing any more books in that series? Well, I ll consider anything. At this
moment, I m not planning to write any more in that series. And as far as that impacts the TV
show, amazingly, we got through the entire first season, and we haven t even finished book one. So
we ve got a long way to go before we would empty out the coffers of the books. That s why I
certainly hope it goes on cause we ve got lots of characters I hope we get to. There are little bits
from books two and three that got pulled into the first season. The TV show also allows us to
dig deeper into storylines that are in the background of the books. Just an example, we know Abby
works in this company in New York and she makes her decision to come back to Chesapeake
Shores. But that whole story of her life in New York is a story that we can explore a little bit more.
So that s one thing about the TV show that is kind of exciting that it allows us to take a deeper
look as opposed to a more superficial look at certain aspects of the book and kind of enrich it. And
certainly, as I said before, it goes off... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the TV show at this point. The emotional depth and because of what is going on between those
particular characters I thought was a really strong book. The other one, again which we re not
going to get to any time soon although it s earlier in the series, is the book in which Mick and
Megan finally get back together which was in A Chesapeake Shores Christmas. And I kind of

Brumberg s The Body Project
The thesis of The Body Project is that girls today make the body into an all consuming project in
ways young women of the past did not. (Brumberg pg. xvii) This basically means that our culture
has granted girls and women more freedom in how much of their bodies they can bare, and in their
sexuality, that girls and young women have become more obsessed with their bodies than women
of the past have. In chapter 1 the focus is on the timetable of menarche and how this timetable has
changed from the early 1900s to present day. Girls today start maturing faster than girls in the past.
The author states that in the past menarche was a beginning interlude of special guidance and
support from other women, but today menarche is just another step... Show more content on

Brumberg reveals that throughout the years the external control of young girls by parents,
doctors, and other authority figures has become almost non existent. The catch is that girls
today have essentially turned their bodies into projects. Girls today are more focused on their
outer appearance instead of focusing on their character as girls of the Victorian age did. Women
today have a new sense of freedom compared to women in the Victorian age. Instead of worrying
about corsets, today s women worry about dieting and their physical appearance. This allusion of
appearance being the only important thing has taken its toll on men as well as women. Young
men tend to only applaud young women s autonomy when it leads to sexual availability, not when
it leads to the decision to postpone sex. Young men have grown up with the idea that the only
important thing is physical appearance and so they only look at a girl s physical appearance.
Brumberg wants to alleviate the problem of too much focus on physical appearance, by teaching
girls that physical appearance isn t the only thing that is important. We need to teach young girls
that they have so much more to offer than just their physical appearance. I think that this would be
really affective if you could actually get girls to understand beauty isn t the only thing that is
important. The way the society views beauty today I think this would be extremely

Standardized Test Score
Throughout high school, students strive to do their best so they can go to the college of their
dreams. They excel, and are straight A students with perfect GPA s, several extracurricular
activities, and many leadership positions. These students appear to be the perfect choice for any
university. Unfortunately, there might be one element that separates these students from his or her
dream schoolstandardized testscores. This one testscore could be the difference between attending
an Ivy League school or an average level school. In most cases, the best way to succeed on these

The reason for this is the desire to get into a great college so they can have a bright future.
Countless hours of studying and time doing school activities are some of the prices that must be
paid, but in the end, it will all be worth it. Or will it? All those years of hard work could become
almost meaningless with just one simple test score. All Ivy League schools require and average
ACT score of at least 32 for an applicant to even be looked at with care. Although every other
aspect of the students application may be perfect, if the ACT score is not up to par, then
acceptance into a prestigious university is highly unlikely. Throughout America, the opposition to
standardized tests is increasing due to the negative effects they are having on bright young
students. These tests are taking these students years of hard work and basically throwing down the
toilet. It just is not right to have one test that bases how smart a student is, when there are so many
other factors that should be looked at. Standardized tests should not be required for college
admission because they are an unreliable measure of a student s performance and are not as
important as what was accomplished in the students four years of high

Major Issues In Japan s Period Of Reunification
Japan had to deal with many issues during its period of reunification. The major issue for Japan
was the constant fighting between daimyo. From 1500 1603, Japan went through a devastating
civil war, in which Toyotomi Hideyoshi eventually won. After Hideyoshi, Tokugawa Ieyasu created
a Shogunate that had imperial rule, so the daimyo could no longer fight for control. Japan also
struggled with its changing economy in that merchants had low status but higher wealth than the
daimyo and samurai. The lords did not seem as powerful when they needed to borrow money from
low class merchants. In concern to external pressures, Japan had tried to take Korea under the reign
of Hideyoshi but they were quickly overpowered. When the Tokugawa took control,

FDA Drug Approval Process
Tricia Garbuzovas
COM/172
October 5, 2011
Cassandra Baker
FDA Drug Approval Process Americans must wait up to 19 years after a discovered treatment
before they can participate in benefits of a new medication (Philipson Sun, 2008). The regulatory
process drug manufacturers need to endure before releasing potentially life saving medication is an
extremely expensive, time consuming process. The Center for Drug Evaluation and Research
(CDER) is the main department of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) responsible for the
safety of drugs (both prescription and over the counter) sold in the United States (Food and Drug
Administration, 2011). This department scrutinizes the testing of new drugs and ... Show more

Product liability laws allow drug users to sue the manufacture, not the FDA, for any adverse drug
reactions and side effects. While the FDA oversees drug safety, they do not ensure it. To avoid the
costs associated with lawsuits and the risk of a bad name, drug companies do their best to fully,
sometimes overly test products before release. When product liability law attempts to ensure safety
already assured by the FDA, prices may be inefficiently high due to liability costs that do not deter
manufacturers from producing unsafe products (Philipson Sun, 2008, p. 86).
Drug Approval Process The time frame and cost to release a drug for sale into the United States
market is enormous. After nearly 20 years and about one billion dollars spent, a drug manufacture
can begin to market its product to consumers (Philipson Sun, 2008). The reason behind these huge
numbers is the drug approval process mandated by the Food and Drug Administration.
Understanding the testing process will explain the long time frame and huge costs associated with
drug approval.
Stages of the Testing Process There are several phases and applications to complete for drug
development in the United States. The three basic stages in the testing process are preclinical,
clinical, and approval. The first step of preclinical usually lasts anywhere from one to six years.
During the preclinical phase, toxicology studies on the ingredients are collected and drug testing

The Role of Human Resources Department
The role of the human resources department is to maximize its expertise and knowledge to promote
a diverse work environment that values service excellence, personal well being and professional
development. Some of the functions of human resources are to stay compliant with labor laws, to
recruit, hire and train the best qualified people to do the job. Human resource planning is an
important factor of the human resourcesdepartment. It is the process of forecasting the supply and
demand for human resources within an organization and developing action plans for aligning the
two (Denisi/Griffin, 2008, pg. 98).Organizations analyzes whether they could function with the
same staff or by increasing staff if needed and the planning can make the difference between success
or failure. Job analysis is another important factor of human resources. This is the process of
gathering and organizing detail information about jobs within an organization so managers can
understand the process to performed most effectively. The job analysis relates to the selection
process, performance appraisal, training, development, and compensation. The training and
development is where the employee learning the job related skills. The organization facilitate the
training to employees to focus on that specific job, whereas, the development teaches the managers
and professionals the skills needed for both current and future jobs. If an employee is not meeting

African American Imperialism
Imperialism caused more problems than progress due to the destabilization of existing African
tribes through unnecessary conflict caused by Europeans. In 1877, Sir Henry Frere decided that
the only way to gain total control over the South African area was to defeat the Zulus, who were
bordering several independent Boer and tribal states (Herbert). While warfare between African
tribes did exist, it was usually fought over matters such as land. The British however, entered Africa
and attempted to destabilize a tribe to make seizing power over the area easier for them. The Anglo
Zulu War wouldn t have been fought had the British not invaded Africa and instigated the Zulu
tribe. Commandment S Bourquin wrote several journal entries detailing the

Coronary Atherosclerosis Case Study
Introduction
According to the CDC, cardiovascular disease claims 614,348 lives in 2014 making it the
leading cause of death in the United States, accounting for 46.9% of all deaths in 2014. This
percentage is estimated to increase threefold by the end of 2016 (Heron, 2016). This is a
significant issue, mainly because, for the most part this is a preventable ailment. If not closely
control, this can quickly become an epidemic as the overall death rate increase each year. To fully
understand this disease, we need to first look at the root cause, coronary artery disease.
Coronary artery disease is a disorder affecting the blood vessels of the heart, generally in the form

Smoking Causes And Its Effects On College Students
Introduction
Smoking cessation programs have been made available on college campuses in order to promote
better health of smokers and non smokers alike, as both smokers and non smokers are affected by
the effects that cigarettes have on their physical health. Cigarette smoke is one of the leading
causes of death in the United States. Cigarettes are linked to many health problems such as:
Smoking causes stroke and coronary heart disease, which are among the leading causes of death in
the United States.
Even people who smoke fewer than five cigarettes a day can have early signs of cardiovascular
disease.
Smoking damages blood vessels and can make them thicken and grow narrower. This makes your
heart beat faster and your blood pressure increases. Clots can also form.
A stroke occurs when:
A clot blocks the blood flow to part of your brain;

Designing a Reward System
Designing a Reward System
Tiffany Hautau
Rewarding and recognizing employees is a ticklish business. It can motivate people to explore
more effective ways to do their jobs or it can utterly discourage such efforts.
Here are a few tips and traps:
Establish a clear link between what people are rewarded for and the organization s priorities. Does
everyone see and understand the relationship between their improvements and financial rewards?
Too many profit sharing plans, for example, are disconnected from daily work. The effect of cost
control or customer satisfaction efforts on the bottom line is so fuzzy that it s meaningless.
Be careful when offering money or recognition for employee suggestions. This can lead to conflict

Praise/recognition from supervisors Praise and recognition from supervisors is consistently found
to be among the most important motivators. Employees want to be recognized and feel their
contributions are noticed and valued. It is important that supervisors recognize the value and
importance of sincerely thanking employees verbally and/or in writing for their specific
contributions.
Professional growth and development opportunities Supervisors may provide employees
opportunities to participate in educational programs or other activities that will expand their skills
/knowledge . Employees benefit by developing new skills, and the institution benefits from the
additional expertise individuals bring to the job. A recent survey found that 87% of responding
workers viewed special training as a positive incentive, and it appeared most meaningful to
employees with postgraduate education.
Paid Leave Supervisors may award employees up to 32 hours of paid leave annually in recognition
of meritorious performance .
Progression through the salary range Employees may receive salary increases to recognize the
attainment of new and/or the enhancement of existing skills/competencies or for assuming
increased responsibilities within the scope of the current position. The salary increase represents a

Freedom, And Freedom In The Shawshank Redemption
The Shawshank Redemption is a high quality film with many themes, that are going to be explored.
There are themes in any form of entertainment. But, the Shawshank Redemption is much different,
in that is so packed full of them, that there is no good place to start looking for them. For that
matter, there also is no right answer in which themes are the most important. Therefore, the
Shawshank Redemptions most important themes are freedom and confinement, transformation,
and hope. Freedom and confinement is the third most important theme in the movie, the
Shawshank Redemption. There are many aspects of the inmates talking about what freedom is
like, and how they are confined to Shawshank prison for a long time. In Shawshank they quite
literally cannot do anything they want, they have to ask for everything. This can be no better
seen than when Captain Byron Hadley said, You eat when we say you eat! You s*** when we
say you s***! You p*** when we say you p***! Not only is this line of thought present in a
fictional prison, but also in real life. There are TV shows out there that follow the cops of real life
prisons, and real life prisoners do not have much more freedom. Then again, all things considered,
prisoners have some freedoms, mainly in what they do during their yard times. The people who
have it the worst, the one s who have it like the quote, are the people who live under complete
dictatorships. They cannot do anything, and I mean anything without the consent of

The Search For Prosperity In Mac s In Dubious Battle
In today s world, it seems everyone is fueled to work only towards the dream of wealth. Without
the promise of payment, people will turn their back on their neighbor without a second thought and
continue on the search for prosperity. In the novel In Dubious Battle, we meet Mac, a hard working
party member doing everything in his power to help struggling laborers make the wagethey were
promised before setting out for the California apple orchards. Almost immediately after the strike
begins, Mac comes to the realization that there likely is no chance of the workers winning the
strike, yet he continues to fight for his beliefs. Some may interpret this as selfish for risking the
lives of these workers, however this is undoubtedly false as Mac risks his own life alongside the
other strikers. Mac also has no financial reward for helping with the strike and is spending his
time educating the workers a valuable lesson on how to strike that will help them in the larger
strike that Mac sees ominously approaching. From the moment Mac arrives on the apple
orchard, we see that he is not afraid to risk his own life for the sake of the party. In a
conversation with Jim, Mac reveals how the party is larger than any single member, no matter
how important that member may be. Mac goes on to express that he is willing to give up his
own life in the wake of a larger, nation wide strike he foresees coming very soon. Mac expresses
this idea to Jim, saying if I go out now it won t matter. The

Jacob Garrett Research Paper
In high school, a group of friends introduced me to Jacob Garrett: he would soon introduce me to
the DIY music scene. I remember, in fact, the day I first saw his band, Clearviews, perform: in a
twenty feet by twenty feet room, about twenty people packed together in order to listen to punk
music. Let me clarity, these people, by societal standards, may be labeled misfits. For this reason: I
felt at home. After coming home and researching, however, it turned out that many DIY artists
were social outcasts as were their listeners. From the rapper Milo, a self proclaimed nerd who

Now, seeing as though the measurable aspect of SMART has been expressed, let us move to its
next part. When speaking about the attainability of the DIY Project, in general, the goals are
very attainable: there already exist similar venues. So, without absolute perfection, this idea is
attainable. We simply invite musicians to play, we invite people to listen, and we invite people
to create art. Again, this is attainable. However, there is one aspect of the DIY Project that may
be unattainable: a alcohol/drug free venue. Unfortunately, some people enjoy sneaking such
substances into venues. For this reason, we will publically exhibit our disdain for drugs and
alcohol in the venue: it ruins the experience for too many people (speaking from prior
knowledge). Also, there must be staff that watches for drug and alcohol usage. This, in the end,
may only allow for substance usage to become lower than most venues. In sum, then, the DIY

A Concept Analysis On Compassion Fatigue
I.Background and Significance
II.Meaning in Published Works
III.Purpose
The purpose of conducting a concept analysis is to divide the components of a concept into separate
individual parts for evaluation and clarification. Analysis of the internal structure, defining aspects,
characteristics and interrelationships to the other components can be achieved by conducting a
concept analysis. The basic purpose is a process to discover the similarities and differences between
concepts (Walker Avant, 2005). The intent of the concept analysis on the subject of compassion
fatigue is to evaluate compassion fatigue in nursing and to determine the current conceptual use in
efforts to clarify the relevance to nurses. The aim is to identify how the concept is currently utilized
and how it could potentially be utilized in the future.
IV.Definitions and Defining Attributes
A.Compassion fatigue in nursing is defined as the resultant distress and physical experiences that
occur when continuously caring for others, usually in highly stressful situations (Sheppard, 2015).
Burnout and secondary traumatic stress disorder are terms identified in the literature as having
affiliations with compassion fatigue. Burnout is a physical and mental exhaustion that occurs as a
gradual result of working in hostile and demanding environments or under stress. Secondary
traumatic stress disorder is a traumatic reaction that occurs due to witnessing the suffering of others
(Hinderer et al., 2014).

Religion s Role In Puritan Society
Puritan society was very different to our way of life today. They wanted to live the purest life
possible. Their beliefs and values had a major impact on how they lived and governed their people.
They took criminal matters very seriously, and their punishments were brutal enough to make one
regret their actions. Actions considered almost normal to us today, such as skipping out on church,
public displays of affection, were considered crimes in the PuritanSociety. Punishments for these
actions ranged from public humiliation, to death by hanging.
Crime could be found in every aspect of Puritan life. Religion played a major part in Puritan society.
Regular church attendance was mandatory, and punishable in a court of law. There was a list kept

The Importance Of Christianity In The Christian Worldview
One s worldview is the structure from which we view reality and make sense of life. We have all
contemplated some common questions. What is our purpose? How was the earth created? Is there
eternity? Why is there evil and suffering? The Christian worldview is consistent when responding
to these questions because of their beliefs and faith in God.
God
In the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). God created all living
beings and He created man to live in His image. His creation was made in six days and on the
seventh day He rested. Before the world began, the Word was there, The Word was with God, and
the Word was with God. He was there with God in the beginning. Everything was made through
him, and nothing was made without him (John1:1 3). God is best described as the Holy Trinity: God
the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ who is fully God and fully man), and God the Holy Spirit.
Three persons, same substance, one God: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. As stated in
Lecture 2, all three persons were involved in the creation (Lecture 2). According to Christians, God
is the sovereign creator of the heavens and of the earth and is their ultimate reality. God s
characteristics are being loving, kind, compassionate, and forgiving. Other attributes are that he is
eternal, infinite, omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient, immutable and incomprehensible (Lecture
2). On the sixth day of creation, God created man. The Pinnacle of Creation

The Similarities Between Classical Music and Ellington s Jazz
One of the greatest tragedies in the 20th century can be seen in the debasing of the Jazz genre as
a unworthy equal to it s predecessor, European Classical music. This can be seen in various
statements about Jazz, such as Boris Gibalin commit, The Jazz Mania has taken on the character of
a lingering illness and must be cured by means of forceful intervention. 1 This conflict can be traced
through out the history of Jazz, as Classical composers have relatively disregarded this new type of
music. Before Duke Ellington s Cotton Club performances, Jazz play on the radio was delegated
for late night audience only. This sub culture treatment has led many critics to disregard the Jazz
movement as a dance craze, or unsuccessful recreations... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To most people the infusion of African tonality into Duke Ellington s music to create Negro art ,
questions the connection between European music and Jazz. Here Constant Lambert responds to
this.
If anyone doubts the essential element of European sophistication in Jazz, it is a simple matter
for his to compare a typical piece of Jazz, such as Duke Ellington Swampy River, first with a
lyric by Grieg and then with a record of African music. It must be clear to even the most prejudiced
listener that apart from a few rhythmical peculiarities the Ellington piece has far more in common
with the music of Grieg 6
One must understand that even when Duke infused the two tonalities of music; he still was
obligated to work within guidelines of the European Harmonic tradition.7 Yet by him keeping with
this tradition he is not obligated to write music in the form of previous composers such as
Stravinsky, Mozart, or Bach, for to do that would delegate Ellington s music as a duplicate work.
Here is the contradiction, for no Classical composer has ever been chastise for creativity in their
sound, and yet how do you explain the criticism of Ellington s work? The intentional fusing of
African and European tonality is nothing more than a continuation of numerous inventive
techniques used by musicians as seen in the changing sounds and techniques of Classical music
over time? Thus to criticize Duke for his originality one would also have

their eagerness to explore, they would be able to climb furniture and stairs and play with toys. They
would be able to grasp and use objects such as pencils and crayons. They would be more confident
in their walking and some would even learn to run. In their early stages and because it is important
for babies to be stimulated and have an interest shown to them, adults will try to communicate with
them though they are not yet able to understand what is being said. If babyâ€TMs are neglected

Sweetness And Power Summary
Sugar currently is the leading cause of obesity in both adults and children. How did sugar become
such a necessity that people are damaging themselves just because they want something sweet?
Sugar is also the cheapest calorie a person can buy; sugary food has become the cheapest food
item in many stores, but it wasn t always this way. Sugarwas once a costly foreign import, yet when
Europeans developed a taste and preference for sugar, there was no stopping Europes need to
have sugar. In Sweetness and Power, the author, Sidney W. Mintz discusses how sugar was first
introduced in Europe and its evolution from a luxury to an everyday necessity. Sugar was first

At this time, sugar is still a luxury, medicine, and spice in western Europe, (Mintz 83) yet it is
beginning to become more popular. This insertion of an essentially new product within popular
European tastes and preferences was irreversible, though the cost of sugar at times certainly
brake consumption (Mintz 38). Once europeans developed a preference for sugar, they started to
move away from sugar being a medicine and spice to sugar becoming a food. The rise in demand
for sugar followed Britain s increase in sugar supply. In 1660 Englishmen consumed 1,000
hogheads and exported 2,000 hogheads, in 1700 Englishmen now consumed 50,000 hogheads and
exported 18,000 hogheads, in 1730 Englishmen now consumed 100,000 hogheads and exported
18,000 hogheads, and in 1753 Englishmen consumed 110,000 hogheads and exported 6,000
hogheads (Mintz 39). These dramatically increasing numbers in consumption demonstrates
England s dependence on sugar. Although sugar was originally a luxury only available to the
elite wealthy households, as sugar production and industrialization became more refined, the
pieces fro sugar dropped and spread into the other classes. Sugar was used to make new desserts
and sweets as well as used in ceremonies and religious events. Sugar spread all the way to the
lower class as it became cheaper and more popular. Sugar consumption as

Persuasive Essay On Breast Feeding
Imagine this, you re a mother or a father and your child is crying. No, the child is screaming. He
or she is hungry. For the first 6 months it s crucial for a newborn to be breastfed. It s only natural
to feed your child the food they need to grow and develop. So of course you re going to give them
the food they re crying for. People will argue you can pump or use formula, except pumped milk
only stays good for so long, and formula costs money and isn t always a mother s first choice.
Some will use formula for their newborn while away and have a babysitter, except breastfeeding
helps them bond with their parent and is usually prefered among women.

why should a woman breastfeed? Is the wrong question to ask if you want to make breastfeeding

Trade Reforms Policy Impacts on Non-Oil Exports in Nigeria
CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION 1.1Background to the Study Trade policy is defined as, a

corollary to that objective was a desire to reduce the level of unemployment and generate more

agriculture, industry and services that are exported by Nigeria (Ojowu, 1989). Agriculture is the

1.2. Statement of the Problem Non oil exports are made up of the agricultural sector,
manufacturing sector and the service sector of an economy. Nigeria, like many other developing
economies has over the years pursued the objective of accelerating the rate of development in the
economy in a bid to transform into a developed country. The economy held so much hope for
attainment of such goals within a short period of time and this was even before the advent of oil as
the main export commodity. These potentials were so much that Nigeria was seen to becoming the
most industrialized African economy within a short period of time. The foundation of these
potentials was laid by the agricultural sector which effectively and efficiently played its traditional
role which economic theory predicts it should play in the path of economic development. According
to Johnston and Mellor (1961), the roles are as follows; Product contribution (source of food),
Market contribution (buying and selling to earn a living), Factor contribution (serves as raw
materials for industries) and Foreign exchange contribution (through exportation). Despite the
prominence of the oil sector in the past three decades, agriculture remains arguably the largest and
most important sector as its contribution to the gross domestic product has remained stable between
30 and 42 percent, also it employs about 65 per cent

Hair By Hilma Contreras And Park Cinema
Hair by Hilma Contreras and Park Cinema by Elena Poniatowska are short stories rich in their
context as depicted through their characters. Both authors depict similar male protagonists with
specific differences. The resemblance amongst these two characters is made prevalent through the
portrayal of male weakness. The primary character flaw possessed by both male protagonists is
obsession. Aside from obsession, there are comparable themes carried throughout both short stories.
Hair and Park Cinema both incorporate motifs including, destruction of beauty, hate, lust, and most
prevalently, obsession. Although there are several similarities between the two male characters
represented in each story, the women, however portrayed differently. Both authors use married men
who obsess over unattainable women. The wives depicted in each story have different reactions to
their husband s obsessive conduct. Nonetheless, the obsessiveness covered in both short stories
results in rage.
In Hair by Hilma Contreras, Luciano, a pharmacist expresses his vexation with a young girl,
Natividad s beautiful long chestnut hair. In the story, the theme of obsession is displayed by
Luciano s fixation with Natividad s hair, If he lifted his eyes from his work, the hair was there, on

Analysis Of The Book 12 Years A Slave
Although the book 12 Years a Slave is non fiction, it is difficult to grasp and imagine some of these
written truths as reality. Both the book and movie share essential similarities amongst the
background and main ideas. Some core events that remain comparable include Solomon Northup
having a family, him getting kidnapped into slavery, and eventually his return to his family. These
events are crucial to remaining similar because the movie is based off of the book as a true story. If
the central ideas and events contrasted greatly from the book, the movie would pivotally change the
fundamental matter and effects of the book. Despite the major similarities amongst main events,
there are some considerable differences. These differences might reflect on what type of audience
each attracts, order of events in which each are organized, and entire changes of certain events for
dramatization or different impacts. Due to differences and similarities between the book and movie,
new insights are brought about and similar understandings are solidified. Granted that both book
and movie share core events and ideas about the life of Solomon Northrup, both partly attract
similar audiences. Correspondingly, both the book and movie appeals to an audience that wants to
sympathize and understand the life of Solomon Northup as a Slave. Although both partly attract
similar audiences, some changes in the movie might also attract others as well. One of the

Throughout the story, Mailer also interspersed various literary devices such as figurative
language and similes. Similes were ubiquitous in this passage because Mailer wants the reader
who didn t witness the event to know how it felt by using everyday examples that the reader can
relate to. In the passage, the reader learns that Griffith was in like a cat ready to rip the life out
of a huge boxed rat. By this simile, the reader can relate to the issue which increases his empathy
to the situation. The reader knows that a cat chasing a rat shows that the rat is in a predicament
of life and death which is analogous to the life and death situation between Griffith and Paret.
Also, the quote ...like a baseball demolishing a pumpkin... let the reader learn how the extent of

Griffith punching Paret s face. Inferring from the instance of the baseball and pumpkin, the
reader would feel appalled even apprehensive. Moreover, the reader would pity Paret while resent

man gets stranded on a island. He then finds a house on this island in the middle of nowhere and
there is this man there. He is a skilled hunter like the man stranded, he invites him in for dinner and
for huntingstories. He then reveals that he has killed every animal there is and now he hunts
humans. In The Sniper. There is a sniper and he is getting shot by a enemy sniper. The enemy
sniper hits him in the shoulder. He then puts his helmet on top of barrel of his gun. The enemy
sniper shoots his helmet he then throws his body on a barrier. The enemy sniper puts his
weapon down and then he get shot by the other sniper. The Sniper goes to check on his kill and it
turns out he killed his brother. There is one major quality you need to overcome adversity and
that is Bravery. Bravery is a very important quality because when adversity hits you you need to
be brave enough to conquer it. This quote from The Sniper will give an example of bravery
Taking off his cap, he placed it over the muzzle of his rifle. Then he pushed the rifle slowly
upward over the parapet, until the cap was visible from the opposite side of the street. Almost
immediately there was a report, and a bullet pierced the centre of

A1: Sandy needs to explain the entire situation to her boss first thing in the morning. She needs to
come to her boss with a plan of action in the morning. Sandy needs to speak to a representative of
Pearl s that has more authority than their sales agent. She needs to take the stance that Pearl
guaranteed the quality of the lumber, and thusly should have taken further packaging precautions to
protect against insect infestation. If Pearl s representatives continue to take a fighting stance and
deny responsibility for the infested wood, then Sandy needs to obtain approval to buy the
additional lumber needed from the local supplier Smokey Lumber. The cost of delaying a

process for bidding. We cannot make the decision because we don t know the dollar value of the

Reflection Of Generations
Generations
My grandfather was an excessively organized and thrifty man who liked to repurpose what
others threw away. He used to clean used paint cans to leave them gleaming. Sometimes remains
of paint in the cans were still fresh and they were relatively easy to clean. On the contrary, if the
cans were old and the paint on them was dry, my grandfather had to use some solvent and a lot of
old rags. My grandfather spent many hours working on that activity. When the cans were perfectly
clean, he used them to store screws, nails, nuts and bolts properly organized in his garage. Being
thrifty and organized were characteristics in people of my grandfather s generation; however, some
of the things that they did seemed absurd to me at that time. In the same way, it is probably that my
daughters find it senseless some things that I and people of my generation do. Nevertheless, it is
not about judging one generation to the other. We need to understand that no generation is better or
worse than another: simply, our behavior is different depending on the times and circumstances.
Respecting each other and learning from our differences, we will be able to live in harmony as a
big multigenerational family.
Each generation has certain characteristics and values with which the members of it can identify.
Members of Generation X highly value their job and family time; so they try to find a balance
between these two aspects of their lives. Generation X are hardworking people, but they are

A Six Sigma Approach developed by GE was customer focused which starts with determining
customer needs and ends with meeting or exceeding customer expectation. This approach is also
suitable for customer centric retail industry (Eckes, 2001). Jack Welch, Ex CEO of GE says The
only way I see to get more productivity is by getting people involved and excited about their jobs.
Its matter of understanding customer needs instead of making something and putting it in to a box
(Harry Schroeder, 2005)
In Ultimate Six Sigma (Bhote, 2007) author emphasizes using Six Sigma for Business Excellence.
Author also advises that ultimate goal shall be customer satisfaction. Author also gives importance
to employee involvement. Giving reference to Maslow s theory he suggests that employees will get
motivated if all their needs get satisfied.
Six Sigma is a concept based on statistical method that measures a process in terms of defects.
Achieving Six Sigma means your process is delivering only 3.4 defects per million opportunities
(DPMO). So your process will achieve near Zero Defect. Thus Six Sigma helps in achieving Process

Differences Between April Morning Book And Movie
In Howard Fast s April Morning , it tells the coming of age story of 15 year old Adam. What
makes the novel unique is that it follows Adam through the course of one day, as he is quickly
forced into manhood at the start of the revolutionary war. On the heels of this great novel came a
film production. Although similar, there were many similarities and differences between the two
stories. In the film adaptation of April Morning you will see characters taken out of the film or
changed and scenes that had been left out or added.
The April Morning novel and film have many similarities as they both timeline the same events and
for the most part tell you the same story. The biggest difference between the novel and the film is

long in his arms and his legs and skinny as a starved cow. (114) through the book you hear him
speak many words of wisdom, not only to Adam but also to the other men that they meet up with
throughout the story. This man that Howard Fast worked to create was a snow white haired man

High Cheer Research Paper
Keep your head high, your bow higher and your confidence at the highest. Cheer is a big part of
who I am it taught me how to be loud when rooting for my team, helped me build my confidence
and also to get back up when I fall down. Pop Warner was the first group I was in for cheer and
the first group I got to do competition with. The practices were also outside with no mats. It was
the first time I started to learn how to jump, stunt and make cheers. Getting high and level jumps
are a struggle since day one. Each day you want to improve but you have to work hard. Stunting
is a lot of fun except when you get dropped. You have to be super careful or you will hurt yourself
or others. I learned to get back up again when I fall. Cheers are everything, they help you cheer
on your team and you can show off a bit. When we got our first uniforms and I was as happy as
can be. The uniforms and bows make you feel like a real cheerleader. They mean a lot, especially
your first one. It was a great time to make friends and great bonds. My first friendships started
there, right on the grassy cheer and football field. You grow up with these people for years and get

got the shot to make a dance and be able to perform them at games. We got old wrestling mats to
use but they were not very protective. We sadly could not compete anymore. Unfortunately, our
school could not afford it so we were stuck cheering for football, which was the best times and also

he joined a band, the Velvetones and after upgrading to an electric better he was accused of

Personal Characteristics Of Personality
Personal Characteristics
Based on the stages of human development, I am currently in my early adulthood phase. I
describe myself as sincere, hardworking, and independent women. I also consider myself very
brave and rebellious because I moved to the United States by myself after high school. I chose to
move out of my family because I wanted to be a changemaker. In terms of my personal life, I am
emotionally very strong, and I bring a cheerleading vibe when I see people feeling very down or
upset. On the other hand, I am a very serious and focused person in my professional life.
Furthermore, my friends describe me as a reliable, friendly, strong, and matured person. While, in a
work setting my colleagues describe me as determined, ambitious, and wise.
For this assignment, I took the Myers Briggs test. I was very much satisfied with the results.
According to the assessment, I have a ENFJ type of personality. It is believed that around two to
five percent of all the population have this type of personality. Furthermore, this personality is
considered as warm, outgoing, loyal, and sensitive. The first letter E resembles the extraversion
character. This means that we have an outgoing personality and like to spend time with people. The
next letter I is about intuition, and this means that we like to think about future rather than present.
The following letter F is regarding feelings, and it means that we always think how a decision will
impact others rather than sticking to

Pros And Disadvantages Of Globalization In Pakistan Essay
Globalization has been around ever since mankind began to trade. The dissolution of economic
boundaries between nations, and the movement of information, goods, services and human
resource across international borders has resulted in massive diversification. Due to fast
communication, distances between countries continue to shrink . Different nations, cultures and
traditions have become closely connected and the interdependence between them has increased
more than ever. With the passage of time, this has resulted in global integration of economies into
one. Pakistan is no exception.
With the introduction of electronic media and internet in Pakistan, the common man, unable to
travel around the globe, gained access to the world outside Pakistan. ... Show more content on

Cotton, textile, grains, fruits and vegetables are the major exports and source of foreign exchange
earnings. The international trade regulation and competition have caused Pakistani producers to
introduce technologies in processing and manufacturing better quality, cost effective and value

opened doors for millions of job opportunities for Pakistanis all over the world. Personal
remittances account for 7% of GDP for Pakistan (World Bank, 2015) and not only help in increasing
the living standards but also, through private domestic investments, help in economic growth.
Furthermore, the free and preferential trade agreements with regional and international economies

Study Of The United Kingdom
For the writing assignment this semester, I decided to study the United Kingdom. I chose this
country primarily because of Scotland and Ireland s historical prevalence in agriculture. Both
countries have a substantial amount of arable land and as such are important to agriculture.
Additionally, when people talk about beautiful, fertile land they typically bring up both of these
countries. Therefore, I am interested in studying the agricultural significance of the region.
In order to have a thorough understanding of the agricultural position in Scotland, it is essential that
the demographic for the country is clearly laid out. According to the Scotland s Census, a website
detailing demographic information about Scotland, the population of Scotland in 2011 was 5.3
million. This value was the highest recorded in Scotland whose population is currently increasing
at a rate of approximately 0.49% annually. However, there has been increased concern for Scotland
due to the fact that their population is steadily aging. There are currently 311 out of every 1000
citizens that are at a pensionable age. The Scottish government expects this number to increase to
397 by 2039.
Scottish populations have struggled until most recently in history. This is due to a few different
historical issues. First, Scotland was faced with mass emigration both in the 19th and 20th
centuries. In the 19th century, a large percentage of Scotts were forced to leave their homeland. In
the 20th century, a large

Allowing me to visit Rite Aid would benefit both parts. If I am given the opportunity to visit Rite Aid, it would give me experience. Obviously I won t catch on right away, but visiting could really help me to get a better understanding of the job. It would expose me to what I am going to have to deal with, so I won t be caught so off guard on my first day. It would be good experience to let me visit Rite Aid. Visiting Rite Aid will improve the company s reputation in the community. People will see that they are helping out the youth and respect them for it. Minorities get pushed aside unless aided by a higher voice. Likewise with the universal relgions of Mahayana Buddhisma and Christanity, Ashoka and Constantine served as vessels of higher authority in the spreading of their respective religions. Without political support, the spread of new concepts like religionhave a harder time seeping into the mindsets of societies. Often these ideas undergo discrimination, if not termination altogether. • 8. The Five Disciplines By Peter Senge Five Disciplines by Peter Senge are: 1.System thinking. 2.Personal mastery. 3.Mental models. 4.Shared vision. 5.Team learning. 1. System Thinking: System thinking is nothing but instead of focusing on only one particular issue, we have to analyze and try to understand the entire system on the whole. With this kind of analyzation, we can easily find a solution to the problem as the problems are not confined to only a particular area or time. We might find a solution for a particular issue, somewhere in the whole system by analyzing the entire system completely. We should try to relate the actions and the consequences on the whole as the issues occur at different time levels, not confined to only one particular time level. We have to have knowledge of the relation between different departments of an organization and the relation between them and the functionality between the departments as to how they are related in an organization. We generally focus on only one particular issue rather than seeing the bug picture and that shouldn t be done. In system thinking we analyze the big picture. 2. Personal Mastery: It is when a person has a clear goal and can analyze the reality, when these both are combined then the person can achieve Personal mastery. Seeing and telling the truth is the main and the first thing in personal mastery. With personal mastery we can create rules and methods necessary to achieve the goal. As per Senge, training and utilizing the powers of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Dark Knight Themes The Dark Knight A Power Struggle Batman, a name synonymous with the word hero. He was first introduced to the world in Detective Comics #27 (artist Bob Kane, writer Bill Finger, 1939). He quickly became a fan favourite and has since then seen numerous film, television, and video game adaptations. The first film adaptation being Batman (Lambert Hillyer, 1943), a mere 4 years after his introduction in 1939. Throughout his tenured career Batman has faced numerous villains, each of them reinforcing the themes of evil vs good, power, and anarchy vs order. The themes are especially prevalent when Batman faces off against his arch rival, and foil, the Joker. In The Dark Knight (Christopher Nolan, 2008) these themes are perfectly encapsulated in the Joker interrogation scene. Almost an hour and half into the film is when the interrogation scene takes place. The scene lasts for approximately five minutes and is comprised of 79 cuts. In a way, the scene almost has three acts. It starts off with the Joker s perspective of Commissioner Gordon entering the room to begin his interrogation of the Joker. The Joker is framed to the right, while Gordon is framed to the left. From the very first shot of the scene, the theme of power is presented. The over the shoulder shot, combined with a slight dolly in, conveys to the audience that Joker is the one in control. As Gordon walks up we see that the Joker is completely shrouded in darkness, with only his face being visible. This portrays the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Elite Athletes Demonstrate Acceptable Standards Of... Have you ever noticed that athletes wear new colours all the time? Well, recently many elite athletes have been sporting the colour orange, orange as in prison jumpsuits, because that s where they are heading, off to jail for committing offences that are definitely not up to an acceptable standard of professionalism. Good evening ladies, gentlemen, adjudicators and the opposition. The topic of tonight s debate is that elite athletes demonstrate acceptable standards of professionalism. We, as the negative team, strongly disagree with this. By now our first speaker would have convinced you that elite athletes definitely do not demonstrate acceptable standards of professionalism by revealing that elite athletes are taught to have a win ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These so called elite athletes are so professional , then why do we even have the need for drug testing? If elite athletes demonstrated an acceptable standard of professionalism, then there would be no need for this drug testing business because the athletes would be able to be trusted. As our first speaker has stated, elite athletes have a winning mindset. This could be one of the reasons they choose to use as an excuse for taking drugs and cheating, to be the best all the time, because that it how they were brought up. A study shows that doping prevalence may be as high as 48%. Even before elite level they take low level drugs such as: pre workout drugs, Anabolic steroids, Androstenedione, Human Growth Hormone (HGH), Erythropoietin, Diuretics, Creatine and Stimulants. These drugs are so harmful, yet so many are constantly using them. What kind of imprint is this making on our youth, the young, impressionable minds of today, that look up to these elite athletes as their role models? This brings me on to my next point, regarding why athletes need the good behavioural contracts to stipulate their behaviour. Why do elite athletes need good behavioural contracts to stipulate what they can and can t do? If their professionalism was to an acceptable standard, then they would already know what they can and can t do. Many of the behavioural contracts have clauses that stipulate that the elite athletes may ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Boosting Chilean Wine Brand Through Montgras (a) To what extent can MontGras control its own market position, as opposed to being dominated 7by the country of origin effect, and be perceived as a Chilean Wine ? Changing the overall image of its companies wines are added to its market positioning strategy. Even though the branding as a Chilean Wine is easily applied onto MontGras, there are many factors in its control which can make sure that the company dominates the market by having a bigger share as it wants to. Thus, Cabo imports are the best option for MontGras at the moment. The UK market with respect to MontGras: Unlike the fragmented US market, the UK was not tiered and it was also one of the most competitive export sources in the World. One major point to consider in this market is the tax that is levied on alcoholic drinks which is 1 pound per bottle regardless of the retail price. This would also mean that the export of Reservas would be more beneficial as compared to Varietals (this is in line with the company s strategic decisions as well). Again in this case, MontGras has 2 options to decide in terms of partners. The first one is the distributor that the company has been having for a while now (since 1996). The distributor had helped MontGras gain a good position in restaurants and other retail market too (on premise and off premise). The second option is the leading supermarket chain Tesbury, which with the help of few promotions made the total sales skyrocket in just a few days. The most likely option to choose would be the currently existing distributor since completely siding with Tesbury would majorly go against the positioning strategy planned out by MontGras. Also in my opinion, the high volume in sales (at Tesbury) was only due to the promotion event which is just temporary (3 days) and we will have to look into the big picture i.e. sales round the year. ... Women Are More Romanticly Attracted To Men The belief that women are more romantically attracted to men caring for and acting in a nurturing and comforting way to babies has become a rather popular opinion in today s society. The reason for this, to many, is unknown, but the theme has made it into movies, books and even magazines. For example, in the movie Marley and Me, Sebastian (the best friend) uses John s (the main character) child to impress and grab the attention of a woman. Sebastian believes the child is an easy conversation starter and the woman will think highly of him if she sees that he is responsible enough to take care of a child. Being able to track and understand what the man is thinking behind what his face may be saying allows the woman to respond appropriately to the mans expressions. Being able to do so allegedly helps women pick out men with good paternal qualities. According to Rajalakshmi Sriram and Prachee G. Navalkar, good fathers are described as being sturdy oaks . These ideal fathers with outstanding parental qualities consist of seven domains; commitment, stewardship, caring and changing their own parenting to adapt to the children s changing needs, providing challenges along with relaxation by helping to reduce stress, need for guidance, relating to the child, and finally being a mentor to the child. (Sriram Navalkar, 2012). This specific article studied characteristics of Indian fathers, but they relate very much to any culture. • 13. Approximately three to four percent of babies born every... Approximately three to four percent of babies born every year are born with some kind of genetic disorder. A genetic disorder is described as an illness caused by an error in one s genome, and is usually hereditary. To understand how these errors occur, one must first understand the basic concept of genes. Genes are the basic units of heredity and are made up of pieces of DNA that instruct the cell how to make specific proteins. Humans are estimated to have about 20,000 to 30,000 genes in their genome. Chromosomes contain these genes and DNA. Humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes or a total of 46 chromosomes. This event is called nondisjunction. Down Syndrome is the most common example of a trisomy chromosomal abnormality among humans. An individual who suffers from Down Syndrome, also known as Trisomy 21 would have three copies of chromosome 21 instead of the usual two, resulting in a total of 47 chromosomes. Those who suffer from Down Syndrome have intellectual disability and are usually marked by short stature, short, stocky arms and legs, flattened facial features, slanted eyes, and other symptoms that range in severity depending on the person. An example of a monosomy chromosomal abnormality would be Turner Syndrome. Turner Syndrome only occurs in women and is caused by monosomy X, which is an absence of that entire sex chromosome, leaving only 45 chromosomes. Women affected by Turner Syndrome usually have normal intelligence but are characterized by their short stature, loss of ovarian function, and sometimes a webbed neck or swelling of hands and feet. The second type of chromosomal abnormalities is structural abnormalities. These include abnormalities due to deletions, duplications, translocations, inversions, or rings. Deletions are when a part of a chromosome is either missing or deleted. An example of disorder caused by deletion is Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome which occurs due to partial deletion of the short arm of chromosome 4. Duplications occur when a portion of a ... • 14. Chesapeake Shores Even though your series Chesapeake Shores has come to an end as far as a book series goes, will you ever consider writing any more books in that series? Well, I ll consider anything. At this moment, I m not planning to write any more in that series. And as far as that impacts the TV show, amazingly, we got through the entire first season, and we haven t even finished book one. So we ve got a long way to go before we would empty out the coffers of the books. That s why I certainly hope it goes on cause we ve got lots of characters I hope we get to. There are little bits from books two and three that got pulled into the first season. The TV show also allows us to dig deeper into storylines that are in the background of the books. Just an example, we know Abby works in this company in New York and she makes her decision to come back to Chesapeake Shores. But that whole story of her life in New York is a story that we can explore a little bit more. So that s one thing about the TV show that is kind of exciting that it allows us to take a deeper look as opposed to a more superficial look at certain aspects of the book and kind of enrich it. The emotional depth and because of what is going on between those particular characters I thought was a really strong book. The other one, again which we re not going to get to any time soon although it s earlier in the series, is the book in which Mick and Megan finally get back together which was in A Chesapeake Shores Christmas. • 15. Brumberg s The Body Project The thesis of The Body Project is that girls today make the body into an all consuming project in ways young women of the past did not. (Brumberg pg. xvii) This basically means that our culture has granted girls and women more freedom in how much of their bodies they can bare, and in their sexuality, that girls and young women have become more obsessed with their bodies than women of the past have. In chapter 1 the focus is on the timetable of menarche and how this timetable has changed from the early 1900s to present day. Girls today start maturing faster than girls in the past. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Brumberg reveals that throughout the years the external control of young girls by parents, doctors, and other authority figures has become almost non existent. The catch is that girls today have essentially turned their bodies into projects. Girls today are more focused on their outer appearance instead of focusing on their character as girls of the Victorian age did. Women today have a new sense of freedom compared to women in the Victorian age. Instead of worrying about corsets, today s women worry about dieting and their physical appearance. This allusion of appearance being the only important thing has taken its toll on men as well as women. Young men tend to only applaud young women s autonomy when it leads to sexual availability, not when it leads to the decision to postpone sex. Young men have grown up with the idea that the only important thing is physical appearance and so they only look at a girl s physical appearance. Brumberg wants to alleviate the problem of too much focus on physical appearance, by teaching girls that physical appearance isn t the only thing that is important. We need to teach young girls that they have so much more to offer than just their physical appearance. I think that this would be really affective if you could actually get girls to understand beauty isn t the only thing that is important. From 1500 1603, Japan went through a devastating civil war, in which Toyotomi Hideyoshi eventually won. After Hideyoshi, Tokugawa Ieyasu created a Shogunate that had imperial rule, so the daimyo could no longer fight for control. The regulatory process drug manufacturers need to endure before releasing potentially life saving medication is an extremely expensive, time consuming process. The Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) is the main department of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) responsible for the safety of drugs (both prescription and over the counter) sold in the United States (Food and Drug Administration, 2011). When product liability law attempts to ensure safety already assured by the FDA, prices may be inefficiently high due to liability costs that do not deter manufacturers from producing unsafe products (Philipson Sun, 2008, p. 86). Drug Approval Process The time frame and cost to release a drug for sale into the United States market is enormous. After nearly 20 years and about one billion dollars spent, a drug manufacture can begin to market its product to consumers (Philipson Sun, 2008). The reason behind these huge numbers is the drug approval process mandated by the Food and Drug Administration. Understanding the testing process will explain the long time frame and huge costs associated with drug approval. Stages of the Testing Process There are several phases and applications to complete for drug development in the United States. The three basic stages in the testing process are preclinical, clinical, and approval. The first step of preclinical usually lasts anywhere from one to six years. • 33. The Importance Of Christianity In The Christian Worldview One s worldview is the structure from which we view reality and make sense of life. We have all contemplated some common questions. What is our purpose? How was the earth created? Is there eternity? Why is there evil and suffering? The Christian worldview is consistent when responding to these questions because of their beliefs and faith in God. God In the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). God created all living beings and He created man to live in His image. His creation was made in six days and on the seventh day He rested. Before the world began, the Word was there, The Word was with God, and the Word was with God. He was there with God in the beginning. Everything was made through him, and nothing was made without him (John1:1 3). Three persons, same substance, one God: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. As stated in Lecture 2, all three persons were involved in the creation (Lecture 2). To most people the infusion of African tonality into Duke Ellington s music to create Negro art , questions the connection between European music and Jazz. Here Constant Lambert responds to this. If anyone doubts the essential element of European sophistication in Jazz, it is a simple matter for his to compare a typical piece of Jazz, such as Duke Ellington Swampy River, first with a lyric by Grieg and then with a record of African music. It must be clear to even the most prejudiced listener that apart from a few rhythmical peculiarities the Ellington piece has far more in common with the music of Grieg 6 One must understand that even when Duke infused the two tonalities of music; he still was obligated to work within guidelines of the European Harmonic tradition.7 Yet by him keeping with this tradition he is not obligated to write music in the form of previous composers such as Stravinsky, Mozart, or Bach, for to do that would delegate Ellington s music as a duplicate work. Here is the contradiction, for no Classical composer has ever been chastise for creativity in their sound, and yet how do you explain the criticism of Ellington s work? • 41. Analysis Of The Book 12 Years A Slave Although the book 12 Years a Slave is non fiction, it is difficult to grasp and imagine some of these written truths as reality. Both the book and movie share essential similarities amongst the background and main ideas. Some core events that remain comparable include Solomon Northup having a family, him getting kidnapped into slavery, and eventually his return to his family. These events are crucial to remaining similar because the movie is based off of the book as a true story. If the central ideas and events contrasted greatly from the book, the movie would pivotally change the fundamental matter and effects of the book. Despite the major similarities amongst main events, there are some considerable differences. These differences might reflect on what type of audience each attracts, order of events in which each are organized, and entire changes of certain events for dramatization or different impacts. Due to differences and similarities between the book and movie, new insights are brought about and similar understandings are solidified. Granted that both book and movie share core events and ideas about the life of Solomon Northrup, both partly attract similar audiences. Correspondingly, both the book and movie appeals to an audience that wants to sympathize and understand the life of Solomon Northup as a Slave. Although both partly attract similar audiences, some changes in the movie might also attract others as well. One of the influential differences that the movie ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Similes were ubiquitous in this passage because Mailer wants the reader who didn t witness the event to know how it felt by using everyday examples that the reader can relate to. In the passage, the reader learns that Griffith was in like a cat ready to rip the life out of a huge boxed rat. By this simile, the reader can relate to the issue which increases his empathy to the situation. The reader knows that a cat chasing a rat shows that the rat is in a predicament of life and death which is analogous to the life and death situation between Griffith and Paret. He used to clean used paint cans to leave them gleaming. Sometimes remains of paint in the cans were still fresh and they were relatively easy to clean. On the contrary, if the cans were old and the paint on them was dry, my grandfather had to use some solvent and a lot of old rags. My grandfather spent many hours working on that activity. When the cans were perfectly clean, he used them to store screws, nails, nuts and bolts properly organized in his garage. Being thrifty and organized were characteristics in people of my grandfather s generation; however, some of the things that they did seemed absurd to me at that time. In the same way, it is probably that my daughters find it senseless some things that I and people of my generation do. Nevertheless, it is not about judging one generation to the other. We need to understand that no generation is better or worse than another: simply, our behavior is different depending on the times and circumstances. Respecting each other and learning from our differences, we will be able to live in harmony as a big multigenerational family. Each generation has certain characteristics and values with which the members of it can identify. I chose this country primarily because of Scotland and Ireland s historical prevalence in agriculture. Both countries have a substantial amount of arable land and as such are important to agriculture. Additionally, when people talk about beautiful, fertile land they typically bring up both of these countries. Therefore, I am interested in studying the agricultural significance of the region. In order to have a thorough understanding of the agricultural position in Scotland, it is essential that the demographic for the country is clearly laid out. According to the Scotland s Census, a website detailing demographic information about Scotland, the population of Scotland in 2011 was 5.3 million. This value was the highest recorded in Scotland whose population is currently increasing at a rate of approximately 0.49% annually. However, there has been increased concern for Scotland due to the fact that their population is steadily aging. There are currently 311 out of every 1000 citizens that are at a pensionable age. The Scottish government expects this number to increase to 397 by 2039. Scottish populations have struggled until most recently in history. This is due to a few different historical issues.
