1. This document is an auxiliary crane inspection checklist for the Tiara Hotel Auxiliary Crane No. 4/3.06/1 located on Level 3.
2. It contains 28 items to check including the availability of manuals, maintenance records, operator and rigger competency, structural welds, foundation, hoist limits, drum and wire rope, hook, boom, counterweight, pins and bolts, sheaves, load indicators, limit switches, foundation bolts, means of communication, fire extinguisher, and anti-collision system.
3. The checklist notes that third party inspections of the crane and operator certificates are valid until August 26, 2018 and is to be completed for
The centre of gravity (CG) is the point where the entire weight of a body or system of bodies is concentrated so that if supported at this point the body or system would remain in static equilibrium in any position. It is important to position the crane hook directly over the CG of a load for stability during lifting operations. Lifting a load with an offset CG can cause the load to shift until balance is restored with the CG below the hook. When lifting loads with an offset CG, one sling leg will take more of the load weight than the other, so the sling SWL should be based on the full load weight on one leg. Careful lifting is required as loads with an offset CG could kick in an unexpected manner once lifted

Tower Cranes vs. Mobile Cranes - Case History - Eagle West Cranes & EquipmentEagle West Cranes JB
Two similar construction projects used different crane strategies - one with four mobile cranes and the other with two tower cranes on mobile bases. The project using tower cranes saw substantially faster progress due to the cranes' ability to access materials across the large site with fewer units. This prevented delays and reduced costs through improved cycle times and less need for site roads and equipment, increasing revenue.
Eagle West Cranes was hired by Jacob Bros Construction to unload and install a two-piece vault for a highway construction project in Tsawwassen, BC. The site had limited access and soft ground conditions, making the work challenging. An Eagle West operator used a 180-ton crane to lift each vault piece from the truck and set it down at the back of the site. A 125-ton crane was then used to hoist and install the 20,000 pound vault pieces. The project superintendent from Jacob Bros praised Eagle West for their safe and efficient work and plans to hire them for future projects.
Eagle West Cranes was contracted by Imperial Signs Corporation to hoist two large signs approximately 120 feet for installation at the BCIT campus in Burnaby, BC. Using a 40 ton crane with jib and a 14' spreader bar, Eagle West safely completed the one-day project. Imperial Signs' Operations Manager commented that Eagle West is professional, organized, timely, focused on safety, and that they will work with Eagle West again and recommend them to others.
