- 1. Who is the audience and how does my product attract them? Kristina Tristram
- 2. The audience that my magazine attracts Before I made my magazine I had decided who I wanted to aim my magazine at so that then I could design and plan what my cover would like look, the colours that would be used and the features that would need to be included so that the audience would be attracted to my product. I wanted to aim my magazine at young people, teenagers to young adults so from ages 16-27. The style I wanted to do was rock/punk because I knew then that I could have a bit of fun with it and I had a few ideas already.
- 4. Keeping to the rock/punk style, some of the text on the cover is slanted rather than being straight and in line. The slanted text gives it that edge and also makes the cover attractive to the younger audience.
- 6. Because of the style and the type of audience, I wanted to include more photos than text as a lot of text can make the product look boring. Also, as there is text and photos, it makes it look as there is a lot in the magazine.
- 8. There is a grid layout but the fact that the text isn’t in column setting still gives it that messed around kind of look.
- 9. I wanted a fair amount of text as the audience always wants to find out a lot about the band in the interview.
Editor's Notes
- The two other main colours are black and white. I found that these two colours are typical in a rock/punk magazine so therefore didn’t just want to have these two colours, i wanted to make my magazine different to other magazines. I mainly used the black as background colour.With the text I also had to use the drop shadow on some of the text so that it made the text stand out from the colours in the photo in the background. It also meant that i didn’t have to change the colour of the text.There is therefore a flow and everything works together
- When choosing the smaller images i still had to bear in mind what the band had to be and what the photo had to show. It had to keep with the rock/punk feel seeing as this is the main genre of music for this magazine.
