This document discusses potential background locations and images for a magazine cover and interior pages. Several indoor and outdoor locations on a school campus are considered. An outdoor area with an artistic circle is noted as having a simple background that would suit a "Bubblegum" themed magazine. Indoor white and gray backgrounds are suggested for plain cover images, while brighter interior photos could work for inside pages. A photography studio with controllable lighting and plain white background is highlighted as ideal for professional-looking cover photos.

1. Outside Sports Hall
Outside the Sports Hall was an interesting location because the background is simple yet interesting because of the
artistic circle. This background would go with the theme of my magazine because it is like a bubble and my
masthead is ‘Bubblegum.’ The brick wall is simple so will not take the focus away from the main image. It would also
be an image suited to the double page spread or contents pages of the magazine if it is too unsubtle for the cover
page.
2. Inside Hampton
These backgrounds taken inside Hampton are very simple and would be appropriate for the background of any of
the images within the magazine. The white/ grey background and the white brick wall would be suited to the cover of
the magazine because conventionally the background of the cover is plain. The other pictures are also plain so
would work just as well and the bright colours reflect the Pop music genre they could be appropriate for the contents
or double page spread pages.
3. These backgrounds taken inside the Refectory in Hampton are brightly coloured images, a lot is going on in these
images so I am unlikely to use them for the background of the cover of my magazine and more likely to use them for
the contents or double page spread pages.
In the Refectory
4. This outside location is very different to my other images and there probably is too much going on to have this as a
background picture on my front cover. This image would be more suited to the contents or double page spread.

5. In the Art Block/ Photography Studio
This location would be great because it’s purpose is for taking photo’s so the photo’s will come out looking more
professional and I would be able to set the lighting myself. I can choose either a white or black background but I
would choose white as this would be appropriate for the Pop music genre. The background is completely plain so
that the cover page would not look over crowded and the simplicity of this would meet conventions of a magazine.
