Holly is the ‘Tom Boy’ of the group, she is also one of
the youngest trying to impress her idle ‘Juno’ Holly is
also one of the least experienced climbers in the group.
Sam is the youngest and is one in the group and is
probably the most academically intelligent. Sam is also
the younger sister to Rebecca and is over protected by
her through out the duration of the movie. Sam is also
the nurse of the Group looking after all of the people
that get hurt on the expedition for example Holly when
she breaks her leg and it has to be realigned by hand.
Rebecca is the oldest one of all the women and is like a
mother figure to all the other females in the group.
Rebecca is also the most experienced climber that
undergoes the most difficult climbing tasks on the
journey he is also one for all of the safety briefs making
sure that people have all the equipment that need and
that the correct safety procedures have been taken.
Juno is the leader of the group and as Alpha it is her
that makes the important decisions this is shown to be
true when the location is picked and Juno is the only
one that know where thy are going. Juno is also one of
the most masculine o all he girls and is very dominate,
also the betrayal that Juno undertakes behind Sarah
back. This shows how that Juno is not one of the
greatest friends in the world and is very jealous of
Sarah’s relation shit with Paul.
Beth is the most loyal one in the group and is the reason for Sarah not falling into
madness. Beth is also one of the most stable and has a fearless aspect to her
personality not wanting to leave anyone behind even when it could ender her own
life. Beth is also like a barrier between Juno and Sarah because of the Pauls
betrayal and is the peacekeeper of the friend shit triangle between herself, Juno
and Sarah.
Sarah is the protagonist and is one of the most emotionally unstable this is because
of the death of her child and husband. Is best fried to Beth and treat each other
like sisters and this shown when Beth talks her through the soon to be demolished
cave system.
This image shows a stereotypical girls sleep
over and the war colours and Christmas
mood shows the viewer lighter side tot the
girl’s relationship before the plummet in to
the darkness and separation. Also the
laughter and happiness that is shown in this
image shows how the girls are getting along
and show the physical closeness as well as
the emotional closeness at this point in time.
This image is the total opposite to the first because
of the darkness and Acton pose that all the woman
are stood like with the use pathetic fallacy of the
rain and darkness showing even the elements are
against them and there is no good under the earths
surface. Also the contrast of the blood and the red
being colour imagery for something bad is going to
happen somewhere in the movie. Also this image is
appealing to because of the Photos hoped elements
in the image that will appeal to men also the use of
the pick axe is repeated to show how important it is
to the story of the girls.
The Next image shows how Juno and Paul may
be having a relation ship because of the
stereotype that women can be jealous of other
women’s relationships and some how Juno
feels that Sarah has something better than her
making Juno feel excluded and want what she
has (Paul). Also this two shot show how the
relationship between Juno and Paul is more
than just friends. Also Juno is seen to be quite
selfish and she takes what she wants. And she
secretly wants what Sarah has.
Finally this image shows how Sarah has been
driven into madness, in tis image she is
covered in blood thrusting for revenge on Juno
because of the betrayal to her and Beth leaving
her to die alone in the dark. Also this shows
how Sarah is heavily back lit showing she is
waling into darkens emotionally an d physically
giving the viewer a sense of true depths of
Sarah’s madness. Also this image shows the
pickaxe that Sarah uses to stab Juno with to
stop her from leavening the cave and
ultimately quenches her thrust for revenge.

  • 1. Holly is the ‘Tom Boy’ of the group, she is also one of the youngest trying to impress her idle ‘Juno’ Holly is also one of the least experienced climbers in the group. Sam is the youngest and is one in the group and is probably the most academically intelligent. Sam is also the younger sister to Rebecca and is over protected by her through out the duration of the movie. Sam is also the nurse of the Group looking after all of the people that get hurt on the expedition for example Holly when she breaks her leg and it has to be realigned by hand. Rebecca is the oldest one of all the women and is like a mother figure to all the other females in the group. Rebecca is also the most experienced climber that undergoes the most difficult climbing tasks on the journey he is also one for all of the safety briefs making sure that people have all the equipment that need and that the correct safety procedures have been taken. Juno is the leader of the group and as Alpha it is her that makes the important decisions this is shown to be true when the location is picked and Juno is the only one that know where thy are going. Juno is also one of the most masculine o all he girls and is very dominate, also the betrayal that Juno undertakes behind Sarah back. This shows how that Juno is not one of the greatest friends in the world and is very jealous of Sarah’s relation shit with Paul. Beth is the most loyal one in the group and is the reason for Sarah not falling into madness. Beth is also one of the most stable and has a fearless aspect to her personality not wanting to leave anyone behind even when it could ender her own life. Beth is also like a barrier between Juno and Sarah because of the Pauls betrayal and is the peacekeeper of the friend shit triangle between herself, Juno and Sarah. Sarah is the protagonist and is one of the most emotionally unstable this is because of the death of her child and husband. Is best fried to Beth and treat each other like sisters and this shown when Beth talks her through the soon to be demolished cave system.
  • 2. This image shows a stereotypical girls sleep over and the war colours and Christmas mood shows the viewer lighter side tot the girl’s relationship before the plummet in to the darkness and separation. Also the laughter and happiness that is shown in this image shows how the girls are getting along and show the physical closeness as well as the emotional closeness at this point in time. This image is the total opposite to the first because of the darkness and Acton pose that all the woman are stood like with the use pathetic fallacy of the rain and darkness showing even the elements are against them and there is no good under the earths surface. Also the contrast of the blood and the red being colour imagery for something bad is going to happen somewhere in the movie. Also this image is appealing to because of the Photos hoped elements in the image that will appeal to men also the use of the pick axe is repeated to show how important it is to the story of the girls.
  • 3. The Next image shows how Juno and Paul may be having a relation ship because of the stereotype that women can be jealous of other women’s relationships and some how Juno feels that Sarah has something better than her making Juno feel excluded and want what she has (Paul). Also this two shot show how the relationship between Juno and Paul is more than just friends. Also Juno is seen to be quite selfish and she takes what she wants. And she secretly wants what Sarah has. Finally this image shows how Sarah has been driven into madness, in tis image she is covered in blood thrusting for revenge on Juno because of the betrayal to her and Beth leaving her to die alone in the dark. Also this shows how Sarah is heavily back lit showing she is waling into darkens emotionally an d physically giving the viewer a sense of true depths of Sarah’s madness. Also this image shows the pickaxe that Sarah uses to stab Juno with to stop her from leavening the cave and ultimately quenches her thrust for revenge.
