Our bodies are composed of trillions of cells, which are the basic units of all living things. Cells contain organelles and a nucleus, with the exception of prokaryotes which lack a nucleus. Most living things, including humans, are multicellular organisms made up of many different cell types organized into tissues, organs and organ systems that work together to carry out the processes of nutrition, interaction and reproduction.
