UNIT 3- PLANTS Natural Science 4th level
THE LIFE PROCESSES
All living things perform three life processes to survive:
● NUTRITION happens when living things feed themselves and obtain
everything they need to develop and stay alive.
● REPRODUCTION is the capacity of living things to produce
descendants that are similar to them.
● INTERACTION consists of being things aware of what happens
around them and responding to changes in their environment.
THE FIVE KINGDOMS
Living things are divided into five kingdoms:
- Plants
- Animals
- Bacteria
- Protists
- Fungi
PLANTS
- Plants cannot move from place to place.
- They make their own food through a process called photosynthesis.
- They do not have sensory organs, but can perceive certain changes
in their environment.
We classify plants into two large groups: flowering and non-flowering.
People obtain some of the resources they need from plants.
