Mental Illnesses
Mentally Illnesses and Crimes Since there are only approximately 35,000 individuals
with serious mental illness remaining in state mental hospitals, there are now 10
times more individuals with serious mental illness in jails and state prisons than
there are in state mental hospitals. ( Many With Serious Mental Illness Go Untreated.
2). To many people this seems cruel or immoral. Mentally ill inmates do not get to
care they need and many of the programs for them are underfunded or outdated.
Mental illnesses are health conditions that can affect behavior, emotion, or thinking.
Mental illness causes distress or problems for the social aspects in someone s life.

Disney Learns to Act Local on the Global Stage
The Walt Disney Company, home to Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and other iconic
characters, has a stellar reputation in many parts of the world for its family friendly
entertainment offerings. The company s parks and resorts division operates theme
parks in five global locations, including a recent $1.8 billion park in Hong Kong.
Disney s fabled studio entertainment unit has an illustrious history in both animation
and live action features. The Lion King, released in 1994, is the highest grossing

Disney s other divisions are also pursuing a more localized approach in key
emerging markets. As Jason Reed, general manager for Walt DisneyStudios
International Productions, noted, We ve been very successful with our big global
productions, such as Pirates of the Caribbean and National Treasure. But we think
there s a natural way to supplement these films in areas like China, Russia, and India
areas that have built in film traditions.
For example, in India Disney is abandoning its go it alone policy and partnering
with local companies such as Yash Raj Films. One new Hindi language show,
Dhoom Machaao Dhoom, concerns a girl s quest for identity after living in the
United States; another show, Vicky and Vetal, concerns a boy s friendship with a
300 year old ghost. The new approach is clearly paying off. In 2008, Disney released
Roadside Romeo, its first animated feature developed specifically for India. The
film was box office gold, with the best opening weekend of any Disney feature in
India.
Disney is hoping to appeal to India s family oriented middle class consumers; core
themes include believe in yourself, express yourself, and celebrate your family.
Because the number of cable television subscribers is increasingly rapidly, Disney
launched the Disney Channel and Toon Disney. In addition, the company acquired
Hugama, a children s channel. Disney is also making Indian versions of its hit movie

A Brief History of Parody Advertisements Essay
In society parody advertisement is commonly used to draw attention to common
issues in society that are normally overlooked. The first type of parody
advertisements were caricatures. In history caricatures were used to prove a point in
politics. Today most parody advertisements express views on alcohol, drugs, and
other common issues that people struggle with to fit in with society. A few examples
of parody advertisements are Absolute on Ice, Barcode Escape, and Feed Me Spoof.
These parody advertisements deal with issues such as: drinking and driving, underage
drinking, money controlling society, the thrifting movement, and anorexia nervosa.

This is a good advertisement to show how trapped people are behind material
objects. People label each other behind what they can and can not afford. Certain
people allow money to control their life never realizing that they are imprisoned by
the very thing they thought they could not live without. This advertisement can be
considered a visual for the saying the best things in life are free. If a person spends
their life worrying about material things then they have spent their life imprisoned
by the barcode. Barcode Escape can also be used to advertise how the lower and
middle class society operates today. The people who can not afford name brand
items are finding a way to get the same looks at cheaper prices. Therefore you can
say that they are breaking free of the barcode. They are breaking free from
spending a lump sum of money on one item and they saving by buying less
expensive things. Thrift store shopping has become a big hit among the middle
class and this advertisement can be a symbol of the thrifting movement. Parody
advertisement Feed Me Spoof deals with the most common issues among girls
today, the urge to be super model thin. The advertisement depicts model Kate Moss
looking unhealthy with the words Feed Me next to her head. Moss s face looks sunk

acquire many skill factors that enable business growth, such as, leadership skills and
management skills, food and safety hygiene. These will be continued to decrease any
issues raising in the organization. Main skill factors required to meet the envisioned
future include, communication skills to build a therapeutic relationship between

employees that run each organisation. Therefore, it requires a well built
organizational structure. In future, the structure would be changed and will be
categorized in related sectors/departments. And this will further influence the
management development which will be evident in the future by developing the
structure. First impact would be that if Nando s will change their organisation
structure it will cause problems for all the management because it will take time to re
design the structure.
The second impact would be that changing the organisation structure of this
envisioned future, it will divide into their related sector which will decrease the
managers or owners pressure.First change after re designing the structure is Nando s

Clementine is sure that Joel will start seeing things he doesn t like about her and
that she ll get bored and feel trapped. And Joel just says Okay. They both laugh
nervously realizing that they have just given the relationship they both tried to
erase another chance. Joel s decision to stop the mind erasing process shows
growth in his character and shows his acceptance of both the good and bad life has

after hearing how much do grew to disdain each other. It is questionable if that is
brave or dumb. If you follow Nietzche s concept of eternal recurrence, one could
say that perhaps that is not the smartest idea, however the concept of amor fati

from many Western romance movies. In the end we are not sure of Joel and
Clementine s future, and they don t get a typical happy ending such as a wedding.
The film shows that love is much more complex than what films portray, not
everything is perfect all the time. The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind clearly
demonstrates the Nietzchean concepts of eternal recurrence and amor fati. The two
lovers in the film finally achieve amor fati by taking a chance on their

A hacking crime is defined as any criminal act when person hacks or breaks into

combat computer crime and discourage hacking activity, lawmakers and computer

The Dorm Analysis
Oh, the rights of fall! Summer is retreating, migratory birds start to flock, the first
crops are harvested, and (add dramatic music here) it s time for kids to go to the
many colleges and universities around the country. Dorms will soon be filled, and
decorating themes of all types will sprout from the various rooms. Lecture halls,
laboratories, libraries, and gymnasiums are important structures to any facility of
higher learning, but one type of building stands alone as the bastion of student

If you are living 9 months of the year in an ode to the mighty cinder block then
Halloween can be the perfect holiday to bust out of a rut and get over the halfway
point of the semester. If you room alone, then you are all set and free to decorate
for Halloween at will. If you have a roomie, it would be best to ask if they have any
opinions about decorations before you get started. The ideas in this article are
broken into a couple of themes. The Macabre Halloween Theme To some people
Halloween is all skeletons, Frankenstein, and white sheets. To others it is an all out
gore fest best left alone by the faint of heart. The Macabre Set should get creative
with their decorations and give ordinary items a touch of the bizarre. The best
place to start is a good thrift store in the print department. Flip through their
pictures and pull out some old posters or prints and take them back to your dorm
room with some creamy red paint. If you managed to land some prints of bikini
clad girls on a beach so much the better! The girls are always the first to go in a
good horror movie, and they will look great in various shades of terror on the wall.
Take your red paint and apply it in a strategic way so as to suggest trauma. A daub
at the temples or a puddle at the feet will be a great opener. Let the paint dry
completely, then take your print and crumble it up slightly before pressing it back
out smooth. This helps disguise the texture of the paint and add a distorted look to
the picture. Do this to several different prints if at all possible, and mix up your
selections. Even a peaceful seen of little lambs can be given a scary twist for
Halloween. The best thing to do to really add a touch of the dark side to your artwork
is to plug in a soft nightlight beneath the pictures to cast a glow on them after dark
without having to illuminate your whole room. Pull the covers tight! The Future

Americans Should Be Considered A Tragic Hero
I believe that in order to be considered a tragic hero there should be an attempt to go
beyond the ordinary person, not necessarily royalty. While Americans may use the
simple individual, I would have difficulty in finding their uniqueness to prove
hero. Nonetheless, I do believe that it may be dependent on your perspective for
the situation. A father who works hard, provides stability, attains a sense of respect
and kindness and does everything he can to support and love his family, yet dies on
his way to his new job that he worked many years for, would be considered a tragic
hero. However, a father who moves from job to job, yells at his family, stays
uninvolved with family activities, though he comes home every day and pays the bills,

E. coli are not harmful, there are certain pathogenic varieties. In shape, E. coli is a
rod shaped (bacilli,) and about 1 2 micrometers in size. On the outer membrane, they
have flagellum which they use for movement, and fimbria. Fimbria is slightly shorter
than flagellum and is known as the attachment pill, as it is what the bacterium uses to
attach to the host organism, in this case mostly the inside of an organism s intestines.
On the inside, E. coli has cytoplasm and DNA. E. coli is a bacterium that can affect
people of any age, although young children and the elderly are more susceptible to

Engagement With North Korea Essay
Engagement with North Korea did not start with the Clinton Administration, in 1988
President Reagan s modest initiative enabled unofficial non governmental visits by
North Koreans into the United States. This gave permission for limited commercial
exports of US humanitarian goods to Pyongyang, and permission for engagement
between U.S. diplomats and North Korean officials. The importance of these
engagements should be evaluated in four main policy objectives towards our national
security:
1)Enhance regional stability:
North Korea s geographic position is critical to the national security of the U.S.,
Japan, South, Korea and the South Pacific region as a whole. Armed with significant
nuclear weapons and the fourth largest army in the world, the possibility of an

policy has prevented any threats to the international nonproliferation from a nuclear
North Korea which would have led to the development of nuclear weapons in South
Korea, and Japan, and even the trade of nuclear weapons material or technology. In
regard to missiles, the United States has secured North Korea s announcement of a
long range moratorium in fall 1999 through years of efforts. Nevertheless, there has
been no deal yet to curb North Korea s exports of its indigenous deployment. Recent
threats have prevented the U.S. in moving forward with future deals and weakens
current established ones.
3)Encourage dialogue between North Korea and South Korea:
Domestic and inter Korean politics heavily influences U.S. policy results; therefore,
maintaining a consistent diplomatic relationship with North Korea is imperative to
the dialogue between the North and South. Inconsistency from President Kim Young
Sam was largely due to his failure with Pyongyang as a result of his approach to
policymaking and domestic political pressures. Meanwhile, President Kim De Jung

Vibrio Natriegen s Generation Time
Title: Vibrio natriegens s generation time and optimal growth environment using a
Closed Growth System.
Abstract: The objective of this experiment is to find out what the optimal growth
environment is for V. natriegens out of three different environments. The first is a
Brain Heart Infusion broth (BHI) that contains 50 mM of NaCl. The second is BHI
containing 250 mM of NaCl. The third is BHI containing 1000 mM NaCl. In order to
obtain this, a growth curve graph must be constructed for each different environment,
and the generation time of the bacteria in each environment must be calculated. The
optimal environment for V. natriegens was found to be the BHI with 250 mM of NaCl.

It is the y value posted in the upper right hand corner. The following data was
obtained from the Closed System Growth experiment:
As shown in the figure above, it is evident that V.natriegens grew faster when the
Brain Heart Infusion (BHI) broth contained 250mM NaCl. The # of bacterial cells at
each time point was measured following the equation given in the How to generate a
bacterial growth curve supplemental material posted on D2L. (2) The data was then
recorded in the table listed above. A growth curve graph was constructed using the
data above which illustrated the differences between each of the different BHI
mixtures. The graph was then used to determine the generation time of V.natriegens
for each different environmental condition. In order to calculate the generation time
(g) the mean growth rate (k) must be calculated. The formula to do this is posted in
the supplemental material How to generate a bacterial growth curve on D2L. The k
value calculated for each condition goes as follows:
At 50 mM NaCl k= 2.2 generations per hour
At 250 mM NaCl k= 4.7 generations per hour
At 1000 mM NaCl k= 3.2 generations per hour
The generation time for each condition goes as follows:
At 50 mM NaCl g= .45 hours per generation
At 250 mM NaCl g= .21 hours per generation
At 1000 mM NaCl g= .31 hours per generation
With all of these calculations the environment that is optimal for V. natriegens was
determined.
Essay on National and World Debt Crisis
From the dawn of time, everything has some sort of value. Currency differs around
the world, but one thing consistently remains the same, everything comes with a cost.
As the world has progressed, currency has become more sophisticated allowing for
accurate exchange and proper payments. Unfortunately, however, as the refinement of
moneyhas progress so has the accumulation of national and world debt. Countries all
over the world are facing debt crises, brought on by the credit collapse in the year

The product is that European nations cooperatively are being swallowed by debt
that they cannot dig themselves out of. Today we currently have over fifty two
trillion dollars in global public debt, America, Europe, Asia, Australia and parts of
South America all ranking as the highest in debt, and every second someone is
taking on more for which they cannot pay. This global issue affects every person of
every age. It effects adults by the amount of taxes that are forced upon them to help
repay national debt, it effects the younger generation by having to live in low
income homes because of the amount of money their parents must pay. As my
generations is coming of age, it is now up to us to become more responsible and do
your best to fix global debt. To escape the debt of the global, national and local
bankers, the authority to create a general money supply needs to be reinstated to
national governments. Other alternative options include having legal tender issued
directly to national treasuries that can then be spent on national budgets.
Alternatively, we can publicly possess banks so we can dissolve the nation s credit
and lend it to the people interest free. The only other options I see personally, is to
shrink the size of our government. We would not lessen the power of the local
powers, but if we had less major figureheads, we would be paying fewer of the
highest salaries. The massive groups of government can be found in every country.

enroll within a specific concentration, so that you may gain a specialty . Therefore
it s important to have a sense of what area of hospitality you are interested in, so
that you enroll yourself into an appropriate program, including programs where
graduates have been able to secure employment in your interested field and location.
For example, if you have the desire to work as a ski lodge manager, you may want to
make sure you enroll into a school that provides the focus of the hotel industry and
potential internship opportunities within ski country vs. the beaches in Florida.

since it s black its takes away life instead. To Hassan, he believes that The boy has a

author of the great book of the 20th century called Avalon Landing, the only book he

For Jamal this dream is to write. A simple ambition with little direction to begin,
encouragement from an unexpected, but beneficial friend, leads to a blossoming
of potential in Jamal. This skill is especially prominent when Jamal s test scores
come back. Everyone is surprised at the excellence they show from a student who
does just enough to get by, but they open doors Jamal had never considered for
himself. A full scholarship to the prestigious private school, Mailor Callow, being
at the top of the list. Having this opportunity presented to him is a shock to Jamal,
who simply knew he loved to read and write. Now, having to consider his options,
Jamal reflects upon them. Either he can either continue at his present school and
maintain his status with the same assumptions involving his race and economic
status to be made about him or he can pursue his dreams. But the decision and how
he will use the opportunity are left up to the only person that can truly impact his
dreams, Jamal himself. In the end, opportunity wins out and Jamal chooses to attend
the school and begin his new path. Such a path may not have been possible at all
without the help of William Forrester. Forrester brings out Jamal s intelligence and
Jamal brings Forrester back into life, says Rob Brown. They need each other in a way
they never imagined, (Movielocity, 2001, p. 2). Both individuals assist and
encourage each other s dreams. Forrester s method and help is obvious throughout
the movie while Jamal s effect on Forrester is more subtle. The one instance of
Jamal directly influencing Forrester is when, on Forrester s birthday, Jamal attempts
to take him to a basketball game. Hundreds of people are in attendance and after
years of isolation, the crowd is frightening to Forrester. Jamal redeems the evening by
taking him to an empty Yankee Stadium, where some of Forrester s better memories

Caffeine In The United States
Caffeine Research Paper
Caffeine is consumed in abundance worldwide and is extremely prevalent in today
s society. The average adult in the United States consumes around 300mg of coffee a
day, making it clear that caffeine is an important part of many people s lifestyles
(Somogyi 1). Almost all of the caffeine that is consumed is in beverages with coffee
as the primary source of caffeine in the U.S. (Somogyi 4). Approximately 75% of
adults in the United States consume coffee and 58% consume coffee every day
(CDBCNet). Chocolate, tea, and some soft drinks also contain caffeine, but generally
not as much as coffee (Somogyi 4). Coffee shops are scattered throughout the world,

Many people feel as though they need caffeine because they are caught in a cycle
where their sleep patterns have been disrupted by caffeine so they feel more tired
during the day and drink more caffeine to stay awake (Mayo Foundation).
However, in order for something to be classified as addictive, it must cause an
individual to seek out the substance despite the threat it poses to social, physical,
and economic well being, criteria for which caffeine does not satisfy (IFICF 8).
Heavy caffeine users can experience mild withdrawal symptoms like headaches,
low energy, irritability, and nervousness. These symptoms are very short term and
can be easily avoided by a gradual decrease in caffeine consumption (Mayo
Foundation). Research has also indicated that people build up a tolerance to caffeine
in as little as one to four days due to the brain producing more adenosine receptors
(Caffeine Informer). Even though individuals who consume caffeine experience
minor withdrawal and build up a tolerance, caffeine does not have the addictive
properties that are often associated with these

The brand cheerios has been around since 1945 and comes from the strong brand

A future marketing plan should focus on the product being sold as a family cereal

consumers demand for a cost effective and convenient breakfast options driven by
a desire for a healthy start to the day. It was also found that two thirds of consumers

More women being employed who are more conscious of eating breakfast in the
morning, passing this down to the children.
COMMENTARY:
In a Mintel report by Ihekweazu (2011) it is found that the number of women in
employment has increased and is set to increase by 1.5% within the next five years,
this is quite an important social change within the external environment. This is due
to the fact that women are more inclined to east breakfast at home, this therefore has
a huge impact on the children within the family as it means theoretically it will be
easier for parents to ensure their child is having breakfast. It also means that they
have more control over what they are eating.
This should theoretically make it easier for parents to ensure that their children have
breakfast at home
The Importance Of Hate Speech On The Internet
I will examine the difficulties of regulating hate speech on the internet through legal
and technological frameworks for Japan and the United States. The Universal
Declaration of Human Rights recognizes the freedom of expression as a human right.
But the freedom of expression on the internet is subject to certain limitations. The
Internet is not devoid of different forms of deviant behavior (such as hate speech),
which incite discrimination, hatred or violence against groups or individuals on the
basis of their personal attributes. The anonymity and mobility provided by the
Internet has made harassment and expressions of hate effortless and undetectable.
Hate speech on the Internet is a growing problem for the United States and Japan
because it is targeting individuals on the basis of personal characteristics. Brown
(2017) argues that cyberhate has three different qualities: anonymity in the sense that
individuals are not compelled to reveal aspects of their offline identity unless they
wish to do so; invisibility there is a physical distance between speaker and audience;
instantaneousness provides people with almost instantaneous publishing. The
justification for promoting speech is founded on a concern for the facilitation of
discourse democracy, while the rationale for preventing harm is based on a concern
for human dignity.
Koontz (2017) cites the case of City of Yokosuka v. Lee Sin as an example that
Japan needs to redraft the act in order to redefine hate speech on
Walt Disney The Old Mill
The Old Mill
77 years later and it is still as emotionally resonant, and artistically beautiful as ever.
The feeling was so strange, marveling at the tone and storytelling of The Old Mill. I
have never felt more driven than I had in animation. I wanted the Old Mill to stand
tall when the storm stood still. The feeling was magical.
The Old Mill is a 1937 Silly Symphony cartoon produced by Walt Disney, directed by
Wilfred Jackson, and scored by Leigh Harline. The film depicts a natural community
of animals, populating an old abandoned windmill in the countryside, and how they
deal with a severe thunderstorm that nearly destroyed their homes.
During this time, animation is in a transitional period from the silent films of black
and white, to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Besides setting the groundwork for Walt Disney s future animated films, the cartoon
really enlighten the possibilities on how animation can be portrayed. Sure, Disney has
held an artistic standard of realism in his cartoons, but never on imitating nature and
its animals, capturing them in their natural habitat. In conjunction to the
advancements to colored animation and sound, The Old Mill traditionally became a
piece of art capturing nature in its worst state, a thunderstorm. Animation was
originally created through imitating consciousness, and now nature. Interesting
enough, Disney s animators were assigned to study animals. Imagine the time and
effort to draw an animal enough times to recreate the same of similar body
structure in multiple angles. I cannot say anymore: The Old Mill really resonated
me. It is a beautiful piece of art that still holds up in this modern age of animation.
The techniques used to create The Old Mill, is commonly used in modern
animation. While the size, space, and simplicity used to animate may differ, the
techniques are there. I would also argue that The Old Mill was the forefront of a
technological advancement. While multiplane cameras were used in the past, Disney
s multiplane camera allowed the use of seven panels of artwork and a movable
camera. Multiplane cameras added a level of depth that was never before seen in
animation and fluidity. Animating rain, wind, lightning,
Essay on Reflections on The Tao Te Ching
Reflections on The Tao Te Ching When the early Christians had to keep their faith
against the persecutions of the Roman Empire, they had obviously a visible enemy.
Once their religion was legalized and established, however, they had new questions to
ask concerning who they were, what could hurt their souls and their way of life.
Some of them, at least, concluded that the materialism of the dominant Roman way
of life was a non agressive, but equally corrosive force that would destroy them not
physically, but spiritually. These Fourth Century Christians, men and women, then
left their societies and withdrew into the desert to be able to find true paradise, not in

This assertion has always involved universally several profoundly felt
assumptions. 1. That humans, unlike all other creatures, are called upon to
develop, to become better than they are. 2. That to be most fully human requires
individual choice and development by cooperative action with identifiable but
demanding conditions. 3. That these conditions are truly universal, applicable and
available to all people and in that sense absolute both in practice and in idea. In The
Bhagavad Gita, for example, the poet says that whenever he reads the words of
Krishna to Arjuna he enters into the Gita s predicament and experiences a change
of soul. Similarly the Christian Gospels invite the hearers of the Word to
participate in a divine life. 4. That there is something or some others or some One
who is outside and beyond us and divinely interested in us as we succeed or fail at
living up to our expectations. 5. That in stories, poems, myths, or codes, the
elements of what it means to be human, as well as the passages from one level of
awareness and life to another higher level, can be captured and shared, thus giving
access to the wisdom of the culture. This wisdom may take two forms collections of

Salutary Neglect In The Colonies
The salutary neglect is a term that lasted from the late 17th to the early 18th century.
Before the salutary neglect took place, Britain enforced different acts on the colonies
only so that the mother country (England) will benefit. Such acts were the Wool Act
of 1699, Molasses Act of 1733 and the Navigation Acts, all benefiting the mother
country, England. The salutary neglect took place when Britain got involved in a
series of wars. This meant that there would be no one to enforce the acts to the
colonists, which meant that the colonies were free of British Support. In the salutary
neglect, the colonies expanded their power and control of land. At the same time,
they were parting away from British control. When Britain finally noticed that the
colonies were refusing to obey England s acts, they enforced military power. b.
Salutary Neglect helped establish legislative assemblies to have some type of
government within the colonies. These legislative assemblies helped citizens exercise
their rights and help strengthen their government, which they did not have under the
British. Through salutary neglect, the colonists realized they had to build a
democratic government that would prove itself to be... Show more content on

and the natives and several skirmishes among New England settlers and Native
Americans, limited trade and prosperity did prove to exist during this time period as
well as a series of conflicts, due to the arrival of European

The Goth culture is a counterculture. A counterculture is a way of life and a set of
attitudes opposed to or at variance with the prevailing social norm. The way a Goth
views the world and their strange choices of wardrobe are different from other

then the rest of the world, but they are more of a counterculture. They also are not a

of the Gothic culture allows them to be accepted, and praised for being who they

For example, some Goths are religious, while other Goths choose to be atheists.
The Gothic culture was formed so that people who had a darker view on life has a

one of high schools safest sports according to momsteam.com, more and more
players are getting hurt and here s why. Many players are getting line drives to the
head, and other parts of their body. They say they should have been wearing a face
mask while playing defense. Players of fastpitch softball need to wear a face mask
because players and pitchers are having more injuries each year, without one you
are increasing risks for injuries that could potentionally lead to your end in a career of
softball. Girls are starting to wear a face masks at a young age teaches young girls
that are wearing a face mask is safe. Young girls think it is cool to wear face masks
and that it is fun to wear different colored masks. Missouri softball pitchers in high
school are now required to wear a face mask while pitching (Eads). Little girls are
now being taught to never playwithout one. Tournaments and rec leagues are
making a face mask rule now for pitchers and corners. Little girls do not have to
worry about getting hit in the face because they are wearing them all of the time.
The good thing about young girls wearing face masks is they will know when you

How Manh s Influence On The Classroom
In this extract, we can see that Manh has attempted to encourage the students to
volunteer to share their story after 10 minutes of discussion. However the way
Manh frames his turn can hint at the unequal identities of speakers in this context.
The teacher s power exertion seems apparent as there is a sequence of Wh
question who used in the turn. Moreover the use of direct object me (line 34 36) is
interesting as it signifies the dominance of teacher s agency. Instead of choosing
more collective direct objects such as tell us or tell the whole class , the use of tell
me can make the classroom discussion become merely the conversation between the
teacher and the selected student. This can potentially create a nervous environment
for the students. It is noted that although the teacher has initiated many questions,
there are no answers from the students. There are also 2.5s and 4s gaps in line 36
which shows the student s unwillingness to take part. The student s unwillingness
has led to Manh s power exertion, which is clearly seen in line 37. Using the first
condition in addition with personal pronoun I suggesting agency, Manh puts
emphasis on the possible consequence of being selected by the teacher if the
students do not voluntarily take part in the speaking activity. This is not interpreted
as a threat but rather a reminding of what Manh is capable of doing as a teacher,
which can be linked to the teacher s identity as someone powerful who can nominate

Double Bass Drumming Research Paper
The evolution of drumming is quite an interesting story. Many occurrences have
contributed to the changes the kit style of drumming. Traveling through time the
drum has become a major part of any modern day band. Beginning with double
drumming, into the invention of the double bass drumming, and ending with the
invention of the modern drumstick. After the civil war, around the 1900 s, marching
drummers tried to figure of how one person could play the whole percussion section.
Double drumming allowed someone to do that; by having one player play both a
bass drumbeat and snare drum beat. One popular rhythm that was used in double
drumming was a four in a bar bass drum, while doing a close roll on snare. By 1876,
theater orchestras and dance bands had adopted the technique of drumming into their

Home Mothers And Working Mothers
Participants:
The participants included two working mothers and two stay at home mothers within
the ages of 20 35. All the participants I found were close friends or acquaintances but
the hardest part was to find stay at home mothers. The method used for my research
was interview questions. I asked five questions for each mother, two separate sets of
questions for stay at home mothers and working mothers. The first participant was a
thirty two year old, full time working mother who is also currently enrolled at
Sacramento State has three children. The second participant was a twenty two year
old, who is a full time mother working at a dental office in Stockton, CA. She is a
long time friend who has a three year old boy. The third participant a twenty six
year old, is a stay at home mother with two boys, ages three and four. My last
participant was my sister s best friend, a stay at home mother, but also a part time
student with two boys, a ten year old and a five year old. Three of the mothers that I
interviewed were single with only one that has a husband.
Findings:

many to interview. The majority of the people that I socialize with are either part time
mothers or full time working mothers. For my research I decided to choose two stay
at home mothers that had no part time job. I also found that stay at home mothers
main motivation is their children, staying home with their children gave
Comparing The Tolkien s The Hobbit And Lord Of The...
One of history s famous authors was and still is today, J. R. R. Tolkien. Many
people know some of his more famous books like The Hobbit or his Lord of the
Ring series. Within these people there are others who know that the names of all the
dwarves from The Hobbit and the name Gandalf come from an ancient Norse poem
titled Volpusa. An even smaller group of people know that more than just his name
came from Norse mythology, in fact the model for Gandalfs character may have been
taken from one of Norse mythologies most important gods Odin. There are many
similarities between the two of them; pictures and paintings of Odin look like
Gandalf, they both are immortal, they both can take on other appearances, they both
have the fastest horses in the world, both of them die and come back better than
before, both plan out the battles more than partake in them, both of them are very
wise, and they both use similar magic in combat. J. R. R. Tolkien was influenced by
the Norse god Odin when he created his character Gandalf.
The weakest connection between the two of them is that they look similar. When
many people think of a wizard they think tall pointy hat, long flowing robe, and
some type of magical implement like a wand or a staff. There are many famous
wizards from stories that fit within that description such as Gandalf, Dumbledore
and Merlin. Odin is not a wizard but he was known to have magic like powers very
similar to that of wizards. This eighteen century picture of Odin

Children Effective Communication
Communication is effective when what is trying to be conveyed is understood by the
recipient quickly and easily. Effective communication is important in developing
positive relationships with everyone at any age and in any setting; how this is
achieved varies but its value remains the same. Every relationship begins with
communicationwhether it be written or verbal if it is positive it starts the relationship
off positively and enables both parties to be happy to develop that relationship.
With children effective communication by way of showing them that you are
interested in what they have to say, getting down to their level and using appropriate
language shows them that they are valued. This feeling of value raises the child self

the biggest problems today in 2017 is people having purified water. Having such a
big population and our way of life is killing our earth. This way of our life is
destroying our fresh water ecosystems and is making it very difficult for us to have
clean drinking water. Although there are some simple solutions to this problem.
Purified water has a huge impact on our society socially and economically.
Twelve percent of our earth s population uses eighty five percent of its water. 1.2
billion people in our earth our do not have easy access to clean drinking water. Due
to the shortage of pure water it has caused 250 million deceases, leading to 5 10
million deaths annually just because of pure water. The problem of purified water
has put a lot of stress on developing countries. Developing countries can often afford
a sanitation plant and the facilities to run a sanitation plant and have the water run
to families in urban areas but the problem is that it is often too expensive, or they
don t have everything to reach rural areas leaving a lot of poor families without pure
water. In Africa the women are given the responsibility to collect water for

If you take this out of the context of which it was written and it may not seem like a
very big deal that some of these groups of people would be included in the
kingdom of God, but in reality, Jesus caused a lot of controversy through focusing
on these neglected and oppressed people. The possession of illnesses and sin
created a greater sense of desperation within the people, this allowed more room for
grace to abound in their lives and explains the reason why miracles took place in
their lives more often than the rich and prestigious upper class. A significant aspect
of Jesus teaching was setting people free from sin and giving them dominion over
evil (Drane 149). Jesus constantly breaks down social barriers and places heavy
emphasis on going against the social boundaries that separate the people.
Jesus completely redefines the role of Jewish women, which Luke draws special
attention to this throughout his book. In the Bible, women were of little to no value.

Quebec Recognition Research Paper
Recognition of Quebec The final section of this paper deals with recognition.
Sovereigntists feel that Quebec needs to be recognized since it is a distinct nation, as
shown above, but that Canada refuses to do so. Federalists argue that Canada has
already given Quebec recognition for its distinctness. To understand the federalist
perspective we must look at Trudeau, Health, and Pelletier. Trudeau argues that
Quebecnationalism is illogical as it stands in the way of progress. As such he feels
that it existence is not something to promote but rather something to get rid of. Thus
this work holds that any sort of recognition of Quebec nationalism is too much
recognition, and as such by doing nothing we have done enough. Health holds that
Trudeau attempted to undermine Quebec nationalism with Canadian nationalism.
Canadian nationalism looked to be inclusive to Quebec, through policies of
bilingualism. Hence, accommodations have been made by Canada. The problem
though, is that even though Canada has accommodated Quebec, nothing has changed,
and thus accommodating Quebec seems pointless. Finally, Pelletier holds that
Canada has already recognized Quebec, as Canada has decreed that Quebec is... Show

McRoberts argues that Anglophone Canada has never been responsive to Quebec
and its distinct needs. But to make matter worse, Anglophone Canada has taken on
the opinions of Trudeau, and as such view giving any extra powers to Quebec as
unfair. Thus, true recognition of Quebec has not happened, and the outlook for its
future is not very bright. Seymour adds to this by stating what English Canada has
not recognized is Quebec`s linguistic identity, as French, and its cultural identity, as
bilingual. Finally, Gagnon and Taylor argue that the only way to properly recognize
Quebec is through asymmetrical federalism. This will allow Quebec sufficient
autonomy to protects its own culture as it sees
Lab Report On Solid Oxide Fuel Cells ( Sofc )
Abstract
In order to decrease the number of cycles of infiltration and maintain a comparable
cathode performance, the viability of using a conductive LSF YSZ composite
scaffold with one infiltration cycle of LSCF was investigated. XRD patterns of
LSF YSZ powder presented that at 1400oC and 1300oC calcination, an obvious
shift in LSF peak occurred, indicating Zr doping into LSF and forming a less
conductive phase. Different ratios of LSF YSZ scaffolds were tested by
impedance spectroscopy with the results showing that the ohmic resistance
decreases as the amount of LSF increases, and 1350oC scaffold has a much lower
ohmic resistance than the 1400oC one. A pure YSZ cell infiltrated with 35 wt%
LSCF was used as reference and by comparing it with a cell composed of 70:30 LSF
YSZ scaffold calcined at 1350oC with one cycle of LSCF infiltration, a comparable
cell performance both in ohmic and non ohmic parts was achieved.
Introduction
In solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC), the typical cathodes with the best performance are
usually composites of the electrolyte oxide and an electronically conductive and
catalytically active oxide which is usually a perovskite.1,2 For example, in cells
made of yttria stablized zirconia (YSZ) electrolyte, the conventional cathode
composite is a mixture of YSZ and Sr doped LaMnO3 (LSM). 1,2 The commonly
used YSZ electrolyte oxide in the electrode is to enhance the ionic conductivity, thus
increasing the electrochemically active region in the electrode. 1 4
1984 The Ministry Of Truth Analysis
That which is true or in accordance with fact or reality is the Oxford dictionary
definition of the word truth. The Ministry of Truth s purpose is to change history in
order for the Party to benefit from the facts for propaganda, therefore the department
is responsible for the decrease in historic events. Although some would believe that
the most central paradox in Orwell s 1984 is the Ministry of Plenty, it is clearly the
Ministry of Truth, as evidenced by the amount of control that this department gives
the Party.
The Ministry of Truth is clearly the most crucial paradox. The department changes
facts from history, while in reality, the department isn t telling the truth since they
are deleting events from the past in order to look perfect to the public. For
example, Orwell describes, All history was a palimpsest, scraped clean and
reinscribed exactly as often as was necessary (Orwell 40). This is crucial because the
citizens are being lied to in order to protect the reputation of the Party. The citizens
won t know the truth about their own life, which will negatively affect them since the
Party gains power if they are manipulating their own citizens about the truth of
history. This emphasizes that the Ministry of Truth... Show more content on

For example, Orwell explains, It was therefore necessary to rewrite a paragraph of
Big Brother s speech in such a way as to make him predict the thing that had
actually happened (Orwell 38). This is a key factor in the book because the
civilians aren t learning the correct facts, at the correct time. The civilians are easier
to manipulate if the Party makes the Ministry of Truth delete their original
predictions because the civilians will begin to think that the Party is always right.
Therefore, they will be a lot more likely to do what the Party and propaganda say
since they believe that the Party is
unit 12 public health p1 and p2
P1 Meaning of Public Health: Public health is concerned with improving the health of
population, rather than treating the diseases of individual patients. If a condition has
been discovered they want to make sure they live longer by promoting and preventing
diseases and complications. Public health is everyone around you and the
involvement of the community. If public health is really effective then it will also
help the NHS save money. Monitoring the health status of the community: When we
are monitoring the health status of the community we are trying to identify and solve
the certain problems of the community. We will be looking for the trends and patterns
which will then be compared to other communities. This will help us to... Show more

Immunisation and other control measures are put in place to control them so that
the diseases do not affect the whole population. This also may include food
hygiene measures in restaurants and takeaways to control the spread of food
poising. Communicable disease is carried out by microorganisms and then
transmitted through people, animals, foods and pollution. In the UK, the
government promotes health related points such as five a day this promotes to eat
five fruit or vegetable a day, do regular exercise, eat a balanced diet. When people
have a baby they are advised that they should take their child too regular check ups
and it is important to get their immunisation as it will protect the child from
infectious disease. A way the government control diseases in the population is by
planning and evaluating the health and social care provision, they do this by
assessing the services that are being provided and see if they are helping problems
that take place. It is also important that when infectious diseases have come up, it is
a legal requirement that it is reported to the appropriate people, by doing this
measures can be put in place to stop them spreading. An example for this is when
diseases such as Tuberculosis (TB) and Measles are diagnosed or suspected, the local
medical officer is responsible for monitoring the disease and
U.s. Bush And The United States
Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot
touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the
steel of American resolve (George W. Bush). Bush was referring to Tuesday
September 11, 2001. This day is what woke up the sleeping giant that was America
and forced America to form into a great country again. Events in the 2000 s such as
the signing of Bush Doctrine, creation of homeland security, Google, the successful
mapping of genome, Obama becoming the first non white president, Wikipedia was
launched, all helped improve our country. Between politics, american values, foreign
affairs/conflicts, popular culture, the economy, and technology/ innovation all make
this century worth studying.
Politics is something that has been around since the start of times and usually is the
talk of the town. During the 2000 s there were three presidential elections the first
one took place in 2000. The Republican candidate was George W. Bushand the
Democratic candidate was Al Gore. This race was extremely close. The final state,
Florida, which was the deciding factor, was so close there was a recount. This
became so big it went to the supreme court, Bush vs. Gore. But in the end George
W. Bush won with only 5 more electoral votes than Al Gore. This marked the fourth
election in U.S. history in which the eventual winner failed to win at least a plurality
of the popular vote (after the elections of 1824, 1876, and
Advantages Of Luxury Cars
The term luxury as used in common day to day language is used to mean a whole
range of things, but when it comes to the automobile world; luxury is what most car
makers aspire for but which few achieve. The most important factor when it comes to
what sets apart luxury cars from other everyday automobiles, is how much more
luxury you get for your money. Top notch features in most luxury cars are virtually
inexhaustible. Ranging from automobiles with soft leather covered plush seats, extra
legroom, and in car entertainment that could rival top end recording studios; luxury
cars have it all.

Problem Based Learning Group Analysis
In my problem base learning group, we had to solve a problem about incorporating
problem based learning in the school. At first was hard to understand how to begin
the project but being able work with other students, it helped to clear up any
confusion. In this school, we only had limited amount of space and supplies. My
group decided to meet together and present a powerpoint that would solve this
problem. During our brainstorming process, we all came up with different ideas to
solve the issue. My group decided to show a powerpoint that explained how to solve
problem, an example of a lesson plan, and statistics on the benefits of problem based
learning. I contributed to the ideas of using a website for teacher to be able to look
when the classroom with the supplies were available, the teacher then would be
able to sign up for when they can use this room. This option would help any of the
teacher to already have a set time to use this room for problem based learning. The
next thing my group discussed was about showing an example of a lesson plan. We
all decided to for the students to use laptop carts and the students to be partner up in
groups. The groups would each get a planet to research about and present their own
information they found in front of the class. This type of lesson plan helps the students

Paralysis Research Papers
If you ve ever had a stroke or been in an accident has caused harm to your back, head
and neck; you are at risk of paralysis. However, one of the most common ways to
become paralyzed is by damaging your spinal cord. Paralysis is a loss of muscle
function to certain parts of your body. Paralysis is quite a broad term: since you can
be temporary or permanently paralyzed, paralysiscan also go treated or untreated, it
can also be localized to a specific part of your body or be generalized to a section of
your body, and you can be partially paralyzed or completely paralyzed. Paralysis can
be temporary or permanent, depending on the severity of each individual s situation.

Some aids are manual and electric wheelchairs, however to use these you must not
have much or any paralysis in the upper body. Another aid that may be used are
orthoses which are braces made of either metal or plastic. Many people use electric
shock therapy to try to regain their muscle memory and re establish connection to the
brain. Although this may not work all of the time, it better to try for the chance
that it does work. Many researchers are pursuing new methods such as Stem Cell
Therapy. This is when you replace damaged cells with cells from lab animals to
hopefully restore lost function in that body part. Paralysis is an incurable disease
in which their are not many treatment options; just a variety of aids to help the
person become more independent on himself and less dependent on others. There
are many types of paralysis some of which are localized to specific part of the body
and some that are generalized to a region of your body. Some types of paralysis are
temporary, while other types are permanent and you can t do anything about.
Paralysis can take away all of your bodily function however, it can also just take
away some of your bodily function. Anytime you get in a huge accident, paralysis

no one else said anything, Odell wasn t able to stand up for what he believed in
much like many of the other survivors. The group mindset had worn off and Odell
started to list all of the things he was against that Jim Jonesdid, such as Denigrated

still had sex with men, he believed in equality yet he ate meat while everyone else

Harley Health Center Research Paper
Health centers are a necessary part of all campuses across the nation. To have a
health center on campus is a promise to all the students to provide them with quality
health care that will help one maintain a physical, mental, emotional, social and
spiritual state of health. On the Sweet Briar College campus, that has always been a
healthcenter, however it has been moved from building to building from 1906 to
1925, where the infirmary was located in various buildings on campus, including the
Sweet Briar House, and Faculty Row Guest House (Mary Harley Student Health and
Counseling Center). The Mary Harley Health Center was built in 1925, and this was

This is a smart design so that students that may become sick, with a contagious
disease, will not affect the entire campus, they can become quarantined in a room,
in a building separate from the rest of campus. The position of the building is
important, it sits on top of a hill, and is in between the dormitories and faculty row,
so it is not limited to certain persons that may access it, rather it is open to all
those. It is also important to note that there used to be a doctor that ran the
infirmary, where as today we have a nurse practitioner, a person who is not nearly
as qualified as a doctor. This is because of the location. Before automobiles were
more popular, before the towns of Amherst or Lynchburg were more established,
going to a doctor would have been more difficult to access. Having a doctor on
campus was very important to ensure the health and wellbeing of all the students at

The Thermal Load Of The System
I.Introduction
With the continuous increase in technological advancements concerning electronics,
so has the thermal load of the system. The management of heat transfer away from
these electrical systems is an incredibly important field to study and innovate in. One
method of transferring heat continuously with little maintenance on the system is by
using a device called a heat pipe. Heat pipes work through capillary action to draw
heat away from these electronics without any external interference.
Heat pipes are thin pipes, typically made of some highly conductive metal, which
contains a working fluid inside and a thin wicking material which facilitates the
capillary action. Figure 1 below shows a sectional view of a heat pipe [1]. ... Show

For heat pipes to work for a long time, the side exposed to the cold temperature
needs to have such a large capacity to absorb heat so that the process can run
indefinitely without changing anything on the heat pipe. This is an advantage that
NASA uses to draw heat away from it s satellites and other electronics in space. Due
to the incredibly low temperatures in space, these heat pipes can be used to remove
heat from electronic parts.
Heat pipes present a great opportunity to cool electronics as they offer a very high
thermal conductivity and act as a sort of thermal superconductor as they can
transfer heat at an extraordinary rate and with a large capacity. While using a heat
pipe, the capillary action combined with the material of the pipe itself presents up
to 90 times greater conductivity than just a solid copper pipe of the same size. The
constantly flowing liquid can provide a higher heat convection coefficient than the
conductivity would provide. Heat pipes are also much lighter weight than a solid
pipe which is absolutely vital to any space endeavor as reducing weight anywhere is
always a benefit.
The working fluid in a heat pipe greatly depends on the application and its operating
temperature range, as well as they type of material that the heat pipe is made out of.

Analysis Of Theodor W. Adorno s The
about the world around us, even just for a moment. This boldly claims a kind of
autonomy for art, but one that is distinct from Theodor W. Adorno s conception and
more in line with the affirmative notions the aesthetic impulse. As such, the kind of
aesthetics that I am eluded to here is not just a state of contemplation. It is much
more. As Cramerotti describes in his aforementioned essay, it is rather the capacity of
an art form to put our sensibility in motion, and convert what we feel about nature
and the humanrace into a concrete (visual or bodily) experience . It is useful to
introduce Deleuze s categories of the actual and the virtual and put them into
motion. In his 1968 text Difference and Repetition , Deleuze explains that the
virtual is not opposed to the real; it possesses a full reality by itself. The process it
undergoes is actualisation. It would be wrong to see only a verbal despite here: it is
a question of existence itself . Deleuze s category of the virtual , the realm of affects
and Paterson s documents of darkness are united in their intangibility and their
capacity to move the spectator beyond the familiar. Collectively, these forces harness
the ability to transport the viewer to another time and place.
In his 1992 text Chaosmosis: An Ethico Aesthetic Paradigm , Guattari describes this
capacity as an ethico aesthetic paradigm, which pertains to subjectivity as well as art.
He argues that new complexes of subjectivation become possible

The company s parks and resorts division operates theme parks in five global locations, including a recent $1.8 billion park in Hong Kong. But we think there s a natural way to supplement these films in areas like China, Russia, and India areas that have built in film traditions. For example, in India Disney is abandoning its go it alone policy and partnering with local companies such as Yash Raj Films. One new Hindi language show, Dhoom Machaao Dhoom, concerns a girl s quest for identity after living in the United States; another show, Vicky and Vetal, concerns a boy s friendship with a 300 year old ghost. The new approach is clearly paying off. In 2008, Disney released Roadside Romeo, its first animated feature developed specifically for India. The film was box office gold, with the best opening weekend of any Disney feature in India. Disney is hoping to appeal to India s family oriented middle class consumers; core themes include believe in yourself, express yourself, and celebrate your family. Because the number of cable television subscribers is increasingly rapidly, Disney launched the Disney Channel and Toon Disney. In addition, the company acquired Hugama, a children s channel. This is a good advertisement to show how trapped people are behind material objects. People label each other behind what they can and can not afford. Certain people allow money to control their life never realizing that they are imprisoned by the very thing they thought they could not live without. This advertisement can be considered a visual for the saying the best things in life are free. If a person spends their life worrying about material things then they have spent their life imprisoned by the barcode. Barcode Escape can also be used to advertise how the lower and middle class society operates today. The people who can not afford name brand items are finding a way to get the same looks at cheaper prices. Therefore you can say that they are breaking free of the barcode. They are breaking free from spending a lump sum of money on one item and they saving by buying less expensive things. • 6. Personal Journal Of A Football Player October 9th 2012. It started off as any normal day for a couple of sophomores in High School. My best friend, Chris, was kind of a big shot on the football team even only being a sophomore. That day after school I went to my regular shooting practice for basketball while out on the practice field Chris was in football practice. I can remember the exact hoop and exact spot I was shooting from when the JV football coach came running in so out of breath I thought he was going to pass out. When he spoke I can remember chills going down my back. He said, Chris just collapsed on the field and nobody can find a pulse. In a full sprint I was out the door and headed towards the practice field. Approaching I could see four coaches around his body

Joel and Clementine decide to give their relationship another shot, even after hearing how much do grew to disdain each other. It is questionable if that is brave or dumb. If you follow Nietzche s concept of eternal recurrence, one could say that perhaps that is not the smartest idea, however the concept of amor fati shows that you should embrace all that life has to offer. The film is a departure from many Western romance movies. In the end we are not sure of Joel and Clementine s future, and they don t get a typical happy ending such as a wedding. The film shows that love is much more complex than what films portray, not everything is perfect all the time. The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind clearly demonstrates the Nietzchean concepts of eternal recurrence and amor fati. If you are living 9 months of the year in an ode to the mighty cinder block then Halloween can be the perfect holiday to bust out of a rut and get over the halfway point of the semester. If you room alone, then you are all set and free to decorate for Halloween at will. If you have a roomie, it would be best to ask if they have any opinions about decorations before you get started. The ideas in this article are broken into a couple of themes. The Macabre Halloween Theme To some people Halloween is all skeletons, Frankenstein, and white sheets. To others it is an all out gore fest best left alone by the faint of heart. The Macabre Set should get creative with their decorations and give ordinary items a touch of the bizarre. The best place to start is a good thrift store in the print department. Flip through their pictures and pull out some old posters or prints and take them back to your dorm room with some creamy red paint. If you managed to land some prints of bikini clad girls on a beach so much the better! The girls are always the first to go in a good horror movie, and they will look great in various shades of terror on the wall. Take your red paint and apply it in a strategic way so as to suggest trauma. A daub at the temples or a puddle at the feet will be a great opener. Let the paint dry completely, then take your print and crumble it up slightly before pressing it back out smooth. This helps disguise the texture of the paint and add a distorted look to the picture. Do this to several different prints if at all possible, and mix up your selections. Even a peaceful seen of little lambs can be given a scary twist for Halloween. The best thing to do to really add a touch of the dark side to your artwork is to plug in a soft nightlight beneath the pictures to cast a glow on them after dark without having to illuminate your whole room. Pull the covers tight! The Future Homemaker Halloween Theme This theme is built

The importance of these engagements should be evaluated in four main policy objectives towards our national security: 1)Enhance regional stability: North Korea s geographic position is critical to the national security of the U.S., Japan, South, Korea and the South Pacific region as a whole. The following data was obtained from the Closed System Growth experiment: As shown in the figure above, it is evident that V.natriegens grew faster when the Brain Heart Infusion (BHI) broth contained 250mM NaCl. The # of bacterial cells at each time point was measured following the equation given in the How to generate a bacterial growth curve supplemental material posted on D2L. (2) The data was then recorded in the table listed above. A growth curve graph was constructed using the data above which illustrated the differences between each of the different BHI mixtures. The graph was then used to determine the generation time of V.natriegens for each different environmental condition. In order to calculate the generation time (g) the mean growth rate (k) must be calculated. The formula to do this is posted in the supplemental material How to generate a bacterial growth curve on D2L. The k value calculated for each condition goes as follows: At 50 mM NaCl k= 2.2 generations per hour At 250 mM NaCl k= 4.7 generations per hour At 1000 mM NaCl k= 3.2 generations per hour The generation time for each condition goes as follows: At 50 mM NaCl g= .45 hours per generation At 250 mM NaCl g= .21 hours per generation At 1000 mM NaCl g= .31 hours per generation With all of these calculations the environment that is optimal for V. natriegens was determined.

This global issue affects every person of every age. It effects adults by the amount of taxes that are forced upon them to help repay national debt, it effects the younger generation by having to live in low income homes because of the amount of money their parents must pay. As my generations is coming of age, it is now up to us to become more responsible and do your best to fix global debt. To escape the debt of the global, national and local bankers, the authority to create a general money supply needs to be reinstated to national governments. Other alternative options include having legal tender issued directly to national treasuries that can then be spent on national budgets. Alternatively, we can publicly possess banks so we can dissolve the nation s credit and lend it to the people interest free. The only other options I see personally, is to shrink the size of our government. We would not lessen the power of the local powers, but if we had less major figureheads, we would be paying fewer of the highest salaries. The massive groups of government can be found in every country.

  • 22. The Importance Of Hate Speech On The Internet I will examine the difficulties of regulating hate speech on the internet through legal and technological frameworks for Japan and the United States. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights recognizes the freedom of expression as a human right. But the freedom of expression on the internet is subject to certain limitations. The Internet is not devoid of different forms of deviant behavior (such as hate speech), which incite discrimination, hatred or violence against groups or individuals on the basis of their personal attributes. The anonymity and mobility provided by the Internet has made harassment and expressions of hate effortless and undetectable. Hate speech on the Internet is a growing problem for the United States and Japan because it is targeting individuals on the basis of personal characteristics. Brown (2017) argues that cyberhate has three different qualities: anonymity in the sense that individuals are not compelled to reveal aspects of their offline identity unless they wish to do so; invisibility there is a physical distance between speaker and audience; instantaneousness provides people with almost instantaneous publishing. The justification for promoting speech is founded on a concern for the facilitation of discourse democracy, while the rationale for preventing harm is based on a concern for human dignity. Koontz (2017) cites the case of City of Yokosuka v. Lee Sin as an example that Japan needs to redraft the act in order to redefine hate speech on

In conjunction to the advancements to colored animation and sound, The Old Mill traditionally became a piece of art capturing nature in its worst state, a thunderstorm. This meant that there would be no one to enforce the acts to the colonists, which meant that the colonies were free of British Support. In the salutary neglect, the colonies expanded their power and control of land. At the same time, they were parting away from British control. When Britain finally noticed that the colonies were refusing to obey England s acts, they enforced military power. b. Salutary Neglect helped establish legislative assemblies to have some type of government within the colonies. However the way Manh frames his turn can hint at the unequal identities of speakers in this context. The teacher s power exertion seems apparent as there is a sequence of Wh question who used in the turn. Moreover the use of direct object me (line 34 36) is interesting as it signifies the dominance of teacher s agency. Instead of choosing more collective direct objects such as tell us or tell the whole class , the use of tell me can make the classroom discussion become merely the conversation between the teacher and the selected student. This can potentially create a nervous environment for the students. It is noted that although the teacher has initiated many questions, there are no answers from the students. There are also 2.5s and 4s gaps in line 36 which shows the student s unwillingness to take part. The student s unwillingness has led to Manh s power exertion, which is clearly seen in line 37. Using the first condition in addition with personal pronoun I suggesting agency, Manh puts emphasis on the possible consequence of being selected by the teacher if the students do not voluntarily take part in the speaking activity. This is not interpreted as a threat but rather a reminding of what Manh is capable of doing as a teacher, which can be linked to the teacher s identity as someone powerful who can nominate next

After the civil war, around the 1900 s, marching drummers tried to figure of how one person could play the whole percussion section. Double drumming allowed someone to do that; by having one player play both a bass drumbeat and snare drum beat. • 33. Comparing The Tolkien s The Hobbit And Lord Of The... One of history s famous authors was and still is today, J. R. R. Tolkien. Many people know some of his more famous books like The Hobbit or his Lord of the Ring series. Within these people there are others who know that the names of all the dwarves from The Hobbit and the name Gandalf come from an ancient Norse poem titled Volpusa. An even smaller group of people know that more than just his name came from Norse mythology, in fact the model for Gandalfs character may have been taken from one of Norse mythologies most important gods Odin. There are many similarities between the two of them; pictures and paintings of Odin look like Gandalf, they both are immortal, they both can take on other appearances, they both have the fastest horses in the world, both of them die and come back better than before, both plan out the battles more than partake in them, both of them are very wise, and they both use similar magic in combat. J. R. R. Tolkien was influenced by the Norse god Odin when he created his character Gandalf. The weakest connection between the two of them is that they look similar. When many people think of a wizard they think tall pointy hat, long flowing robe, and some type of magical implement like a wand or a staff. There are many famous wizards from stories that fit within that description such as Gandalf, Dumbledore and Merlin. Odin is not a wizard but he was known to have magic like powers very similar to that of wizards. This eighteen century picture of Odin

So often, people search for the evidence of the kingdom of God rather than simply identifying it. In the present day, the stress is evasively put on works and actions rather than a personal relationship with God. Too many people fall into the trap of participating in as many activities as they can, living to have their good deeds noticed by others; however, the key point is entirely missed. This passage contrasts the present and the future magnificence of the kingdom, which is constantly growing. The kingdom of God includes everyone: the poor, the gentiles, the outcast, the oppressed, the women, Samaritans, tax collectors, the sick, and the sinners. Jesus states that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have good news brought to them (Lk. 7:22). If you take this out of the context of which it was written and it may not seem like a very big deal that some of these groups of people would be included in the kingdom of God, but in reality, Jesus caused a lot of controversy through focusing on these neglected and oppressed people. The possession of illnesses and sin created a greater sense of desperation within the people, this allowed more room for grace to abound in their lives and explains the reason why miracles took place in their lives more often than the rich and prestigious upper class. A significant aspect of Jesus teaching was setting people free from sin and giving them dominion over evil (Drane 149). Sovereigntists feel that Quebec needs to be recognized since it is a distinct nation, as shown above, but that Canada refuses to do so. Federalists argue that Canada has already given Quebec recognition for its distinctness. To understand the federalist perspective we must look at Trudeau, Health, and Pelletier. Trudeau argues that Quebecnationalism is illogical as it stands in the way of progress. As such he feels that it existence is not something to promote but rather something to get rid of. Thus this work holds that any sort of recognition of Quebec nationalism is too much recognition, and as such by doing nothing we have done enough. Health holds that Trudeau attempted to undermine Quebec nationalism with Canadian nationalism. Canadian nationalism looked to be inclusive to Quebec, through policies of bilingualism. Hence, accommodations have been made by Canada. The problem though, is that even though Canada has accommodated Quebec, nothing has changed, and thus accommodating Quebec seems pointless. • 40. Lab Report On Solid Oxide Fuel Cells ( Sofc ) Abstract In order to decrease the number of cycles of infiltration and maintain a comparable cathode performance, the viability of using a conductive LSF YSZ composite scaffold with one infiltration cycle of LSCF was investigated. XRD patterns of LSF YSZ powder presented that at 1400oC and 1300oC calcination, an obvious shift in LSF peak occurred, indicating Zr doping into LSF and forming a less conductive phase. Different ratios of LSF YSZ scaffolds were tested by impedance spectroscopy with the results showing that the ohmic resistance decreases as the amount of LSF increases, and 1350oC scaffold has a much lower ohmic resistance than the 1400oC one. A pure YSZ cell infiltrated with 35 wt% LSCF was used as reference and by comparing it with a cell composed of 70:30 LSF YSZ scaffold calcined at 1350oC with one cycle of LSCF infiltration, a comparable cell performance both in ohmic and non ohmic parts was achieved. Introduction In solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC), the typical cathodes with the best performance are usually composites of the electrolyte oxide and an electronically conductive and catalytically active oxide which is usually a perovskite.1,2 For example, in cells made of yttria stablized zirconia (YSZ) electrolyte, the conventional cathode composite is a mixture of YSZ and Sr doped LaMnO3 (LSM). 1,2 The commonly used YSZ electrolyte oxide in the electrode is to enhance the ionic conductivity, thus increasing the electrochemically active region in the electrode. 1 4

The Ministry of Truth s purpose is to change history in order for the Party to benefit from the facts for propaganda, therefore the department is responsible for the decrease in historic events. Although some would believe that the most central paradox in Orwell s 1984 is the Ministry of Plenty, it is clearly the Ministry of Truth, as evidenced by the amount of control that this department gives the Party. The Ministry of Truth is clearly the most crucial paradox. The department changes facts from history, while in reality, the department isn t telling the truth since they are deleting events from the past in order to look perfect to the public. For example, Orwell describes, All history was a palimpsest, scraped clean and reinscribed exactly as often as was necessary (Orwell 40). This is crucial because the citizens are being lied to in order to protect the reputation of the Party. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some aids are manual and electric wheelchairs, however to use these you must not have much or any paralysis in the upper body. Another aid that may be used are orthoses which are braces made of either metal or plastic. Many people use electric shock therapy to try to regain their muscle memory and re establish connection to the brain. Although this may not work all of the time, it better to try for the chance that it does work. Many researchers are pursuing new methods such as Stem Cell Therapy. This is when you replace damaged cells with cells from lab animals to hopefully restore lost function in that body part. Paralysis is an incurable disease in which their are not many treatment options; just a variety of aids to help the person become more independent on himself and less dependent on others. There are many types of paralysis some of which are localized to specific part of the body and some that are generalized to a region of your body. Some types of paralysis are temporary, while other types are permanent and you can t do anything about. Paralysis can take away all of your bodily function however, it can also just take away some of your bodily function. Anytime you get in a huge accident, paralysis may be
  • 48. Evaluation Of Jim Jones The way that Odell Rhodes breaks down what he actually thought about Jim Jones after the massacre in his hotel room in Curacao. His evaluation of Jim Jones is interesting due to the fact that he had all these reasons to not follow him but since no one else said anything, Odell wasn t able to stand up for what he believed in much like many of the other survivors. The group mindset had worn off and Odell started to list all of the things he was against that Jim Jonesdid, such as Denigrated sex, but he slept with women constantly, beat homosexuals in front of everyone and still had sex with men, he believed in equality yet he ate meat while everyone else ate rice with maggots, and then finally Jim Jones also preached racial equality due to his
  • 49. Harley Health Center Research Paper Health centers are a necessary part of all campuses across the nation. To have a health center on campus is a promise to all the students to provide them with quality health care that will help one maintain a physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual state of health. On the Sweet Briar College campus, that has always been a healthcenter, however it has been moved from building to building from 1906 to 1925, where the infirmary was located in various buildings on campus, including the Sweet Briar House, and Faculty Row Guest House (Mary Harley Student Health and Counseling Center). The Mary Harley Health Center was built in 1925, and this was the first permanent home of the infirmary. The building was named after Mary Harley, who... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a smart design so that students that may become sick, with a contagious disease, will not affect the entire campus, they can become quarantined in a room, in a building separate from the rest of campus. The position of the building is important, it sits on top of a hill, and is in between the dormitories and faculty row, so it is not limited to certain persons that may access it, rather it is open to all those. It is also important to note that there used to be a doctor that ran the infirmary, where as today we have a nurse practitioner, a person who is not nearly as qualified as a doctor. This is because of the location. Before automobiles were more popular, before the towns of Amherst or Lynchburg were more established, going to a doctor would have been more difficult to access. Having a doctor on campus was very important to ensure the health and wellbeing of all the students at this

The Impact of Ben Loman s Character on Theme and Character Development in Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman Some characters in literature who only appear briefly in the work can have a tremendous impact on the literature. These characters have a significant presence in the literary work. In Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman, Ben Loman is that character. Ben is the brother of the main characterWilly. Though Ben has a brief part in this play, he affects the theme and development of other characters. The theme of Death of a Salesman is to be honest to yourself and to live the right dream. Ben had a tremendous impact on this theme in the play. Ben went into the jungle when he was 17 and came out of it rich. Following the theme of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ben lived the life he wanted and had the job he wanted. Even though Ben s involvement in the play was brief, he showed that if you are honest to yourself, you get to live the life that you want. His honesty to himself is the counterpart to Willy not following the right dreams. Ben was what Willy needed to be like. The theme of the play was lived and shown by Ben. The effect that Ben had on the development of other characters is shown the most by Willy. Willy was the brother of Ben and wanted to be successful like his brother. Through all the trips Ben made, he was quite a successful man. Ben was rich and happy, which is what Willy wanted to. When Willy s mind was going crazy, Ben would appear to him at times. Willy always seemed to be happy when he talked to Ben, even though he was really talking to himself. Ben would offer advice to Willy when Willy thought about him. After the restaurant incident, Willy was once again visited by Ben. Ben was telling Willy how his family would be financially stable from the insurance money if Willy died. This conversation that Willy had with Ben seemed to convince Willy that he should kill himself in an automobile accident. Throughout the play, Ben had an effect on the development of Willy. Only briefly did Ben appear in Death of a Salesman, but he had a significant presence in the play. Ben had tremendous affects on the theme of the play and the character development of Willy. Ben did
  • 51. The Thermal Load Of The System I.Introduction With the continuous increase in technological advancements concerning electronics, so has the thermal load of the system. The management of heat transfer away from these electrical systems is an incredibly important field to study and innovate in. One method of transferring heat continuously with little maintenance on the system is by using a device called a heat pipe. Heat pipes work through capillary action to draw heat away from these electronics without any external interference. Heat pipes are thin pipes, typically made of some highly conductive metal, which contains a working fluid inside and a thin wicking material which facilitates the capillary action. Figure 1 below shows a sectional view of a heat pipe [1]. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For heat pipes to work for a long time, the side exposed to the cold temperature needs to have such a large capacity to absorb heat so that the process can run indefinitely without changing anything on the heat pipe. This is an advantage that NASA uses to draw heat away from it s satellites and other electronics in space. Due to the incredibly low temperatures in space, these heat pipes can be used to remove heat from electronic parts. Heat pipes present a great opportunity to cool electronics as they offer a very high thermal conductivity and act as a sort of thermal superconductor as they can transfer heat at an extraordinary rate and with a large capacity. While using a heat pipe, the capillary action combined with the material of the pipe itself presents up to 90 times greater conductivity than just a solid copper pipe of the same size. The constantly flowing liquid can provide a higher heat convection coefficient than the conductivity would provide. Heat pipes are also much lighter weight than a solid pipe which is absolutely vital to any space endeavor as reducing weight anywhere is always a benefit. The working fluid in a heat pipe greatly depends on the application and its operating temperature range, as well as they type of material that the heat pipe is made out of. Silver is
  • 52. Analysis Of Theodor W. Adorno s The about the world around us, even just for a moment. This boldly claims a kind of autonomy for art, but one that is distinct from Theodor W. Adorno s conception and more in line with the affirmative notions the aesthetic impulse. As such, the kind of aesthetics that I am eluded to here is not just a state of contemplation. It is much more. As Cramerotti describes in his aforementioned essay, it is rather the capacity of an art form to put our sensibility in motion, and convert what we feel about nature and the humanrace into a concrete (visual or bodily) experience . It is useful to introduce Deleuze s categories of the actual and the virtual and put them into motion. In his 1968 text Difference and Repetition , Deleuze explains that the virtual is not opposed to the real; it possesses a full reality by itself. The process it undergoes is actualisation. It would be wrong to see only a verbal despite here: it is a question of existence itself . Deleuze s category of the virtual , the realm of affects and Paterson s documents of darkness are united in their intangibility and their capacity to move the spectator beyond the familiar. Collectively, these forces harness the ability to transport the viewer to another time and place. In his 1992 text Chaosmosis: An Ethico Aesthetic Paradigm , Guattari describes this capacity as an ethico aesthetic paradigm, which pertains to subjectivity as well as art. He argues that new complexes of subjectivation become possible
