There are five levels of communication: extra personal, interpersonal, intrapersonal, organizational, and mass communication. Extra personal communication is between humans and non-humans, like a pet responding to its owner. Interpersonal communication is between two or more people, taking up half of working time on average. Intrapersonal communication is internal thoughts and processing of messages by an individual. Organizational communication can be inter-operational within a group, external with outside groups, personal incidental exchanges, or mass communication using mediums like TV and newspapers to reach a large audience.

PUBLICATION CHANNEL.

Communication between human being and
non-human being is extra personal
communication. More than any other form
of communication, extra personal
communication calls for perfect coordination
and comprehension between the sender and
receiver as at least one of them transmit
information or response in sign language
only. A pet dog responding to your action
is an example of extra personal

The importance of communication in business becomes even
more apparent when we consider the communication activities
of an organization from overall viewpoints.
This kind of communication can be further divided into:
Inter-operational communication
External operational communication
Personal communication
Mass communication
12. Inter-operational communication
Inter-operational communication contains the structured
communication within an organization directly relating to achieve
the organizations work goals. By "structured", we mean such
communication is built into organizations plan of operation
13. External operational communication:
External operational
communication is part of an
organization's communication
structure which is concerned
with achieving the
organization's goals. It deals
with people and groups outside
the organization. lt is
organizations communication
with public, its suppliers
service companies, customers
and general public.
14. Personal communication
Personal communication is that
incidental exchange of
information and feeling which
human being engage
in, whenever they come
together. Human beings are
social animals. They have
needed to communicate and
they will communicate even
when they have nothing to
express. Communication that
occurs without purpose as far
as business is concerned is
called personal
communication.
15. Mass communication
Technical device is used in
mass communication. In mass
communication, audience is
large, scattered and undefined
to the sender
whereas, audience is defined
to sender in
communication. Mass
communication is controlled by
many gate keepers, whereas
communication is mostly face
to face and gate keeping do
not involve in it. We need a
mediator to transmit
information for this kind of
communication. There are
several mass media like
journals, television, books
and newspapers, which
mediate such communications.
This type of communication is more
persuasive in nature than other forms
of communication.
