The key elements of guidance discussed included focusing on the individual, discovering abilities, being based on assets and limitations, and helping with self-development, planning, adjustment, and success. The types of guidance covered were educational, vocational, personal, social, avocational, and health guidance. Characteristics of counseling included being a learning experience, private interviews based on mutual confidence between counselor and counselee. At the end of the class, students would be able to define guidance and counseling, understand their meaning and need, and know their elements and types.
