Aims & Objectives • YOU WILL re-cap prior learning. • Explore the political motives behind a documentary. • Demonstrate your understanding of the modes of documentary and the case study by completing some FURTHER close textual analysis. • Review the learning. AO1 Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of film as an audio-visual form of creative expression together and AO2 Apply knowledge and understanding, including some of the common critical approaches that characterise the subject, when exploring and analysing films.

Participatory, Performative and Expository Mode Pairs: 15 minutes   Students YOU MUST select x2 scenes of their choice  NOT analysed so far to see how the 3 Modes -  Participatory, Performative and Expository Mode – are addressed.   Student 1 = 1 Scene Student 2 = 1 other Scene Resources needed: •‘BFC’ A3 Analysis sheet •‘BFC’ A4 Helpful Examples Handout •Section B Blog Page •Modes Handout – Access of Hard Copy YOU MUST record your findings into your  exercise books and identify film language  evidence as well.
  • 8. FEEDBACK “Pair – Share” Participatory, Performative and Expository Mode YOU MUST teach each other the examples YOU have identified.  5 minutes

FEEDBACK YOU MUST present your findings to the teacher.  Note down other peoples findings! 5 minutes Participatory, Performative and Expository Mode 5 minutes YOU MUST choose ONE of the 2 Scenes you have looked at today and produce a P E A Paragraph. YOU SHOULD ensure there is reference to the Mode in the Point, Film Language from the  text(s) as part of the Evidence and then explain the Representation and impact on the  spectator in the Analysis. Extension – YOU COULD write more than x1 P E A Paragraph.
