• Investigate HOW some of the key scenes interact with the spectator and provide them with some challenges that
are commonly associated to the genre.

Aims & Objectives • YOU WILL re-cap prior learning. • YOU WILL develop your understanding of the Observational Mode of Documentary and the issues surrounding this mode. • Investigate HOW some of the key scenes interact with the spectator and provide them with some challenges that are commonly associated to the genre. • Review the learning. AO1 Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of film as an audio-visual form of creative expression together and AO2 Apply knowledge and understanding, including some of the common critical approaches that characterise the subject, when exploring and analysing films.

  • 10. Task 1) – 6 minutes YOU MUST write a paragraph (PEA) about YOUR experience(s) of interacting with this documentary. YOU SHOULD refer to your A3 Analysis sheet and hand-out for further guidance.

Task 2) – 10 minutes Using the handout provided, YOU MUST analyse x2 scenes of your choice from the text and establish HOW they interact with the spectator – for example: •A scene with a Voice of God commentary. •A scene where one of the social actors addresses the viewer directly •A scene where there is a strong, emotional engagement with the subject matter. • Investigate HOW some of the key scenes interact with the spectator and provide them with some challenges that are commonly associated to the genre.
