The document describes using evolutionary algorithms to optimize the excitation currents of elements in a planar concentric circular antenna array (PCCAA) to reduce side lobe level (SLL) and beam width. Five algorithms - Bat, Firefly, Flower Pollination, Genetic Algorithm, and Cuckoo Search - are applied to optimize a 30-element 3-ring PCCAA. Results show the Cuckoo Search algorithm achieves the lowest SLL of -23.3dB and narrowest beam width of 13.2 degrees. Thinning the array using the optimized excitations from each algorithm further reduces the SLL and beam width compared to uniform thinning. The Cuckoo Search algorithm again performs best with thinned arrays, demonstrating
