KM SHOWCASE 2019 - KM for Improved Learning & Performance at the National Park Service

The National Park Service faces the challenge of managing knowledge across its many employees and locations. It has implemented a Learning and Performance Ecosystem (LPE) using various tools like the Common Learning Portal (CLP) to address this challenge. The LPE supports knowledge management processes like search and findability, content publishing and governance, performance support, collaboration, and talent management. Moving forward, the NPS aims to improve data visualization, system connectivity, mobile access, and search capabilities to further enhance organizational learning.

Project Lighthouse is a multi-year R&D project by Talis to develop core technology to enhance interactions with digital resources and create a more interconnected learning experience. It aims to unify digital learning tools and provide consistent access to different content types. A key part is the Talis Player, which allows universal access to content like PDFs, videos and documents with collaboration and analytics. Project Lighthouse will transition key technologies to Talis Aspire in 2016 while continuing R&D on new features to further support teaching and learning.
