King Tut Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of King Tut can be both intriguing and challenging. On one
hand, the historical significance of King Tutankhamun offers a rich tapestry of information,
including his mysterious death, the discovery of his tomb, and the artifacts within. On the other
hand, the challenge lies in presenting this information in a cohesive and engaging manner.
Researching King Tut involves delving into ancient Egyptian history, archeological findings, and
deciphering the symbolism associated with his reign. This process demands a careful balance
between historical accuracy and narrative flair. Additionally, exploring various perspectives on
the reasons behind his premature death and the implications for ancient Egyptian society adds
complexity to the task.
Organizing the essay requires structuring the content in a logical sequence, addressing key
aspects such as King Tut's life, the circumstances surrounding his death, and the impact of his
reign on Egyptian culture. Maintaining a coherent flow while incorporating relevant historical
context and scholarly insights is vital.
Furthermore, the challenge extends to avoiding the common pitfalls of repetitive information
and clichГ©d statements often found in essays on well-known historical figures. Striking a
balance between providing new insights and presenting information in a fresh, engaging way
requires a thoughtful approach.
In conclusion, while composing a King Tut essay can be a challenging endeavor due to the need
for comprehensive research, thoughtful organization, and a creative presentation, it offers the
opportunity to delve into a fascinating chapter of history. For those seeking assistance with
similar essays or exploring a wide range of topics, various resources likeHelpWriting.net can

Minorities In The Movie Crash
There is no denying that the criminal justice system is downright corrupt, unjust, and
powerful. By corrupt, the criminal justice system degrades the power it possesses to
perform in its out most potential. By unjust, the criminal justice system disposes of
equal treatment and exhibits discrimination of individuals of society. By powerful,
the criminal justice system utilizes discretion and fear to respond to situations that
entail the lives of racial minorities. These ideas extend to a much greater problem
which is the disposition on minorities. There is the majority group, also known as
the dominant group, and there are the minority groups, also known as the
subordinate group. The dominant group have power either politically or
economically. The subordinate group have less power and are mostly comprised of

The people of a minority group who are at a greater risk of being subjected to the
criminal justice system are the African Americans and Hispanics. It is not surprising
these two groups are more prone, yet throughout the remainder of this paper, certain
concepts/themes will be further analyzed from a chosen film to portray the reality
minorities face with and in the criminal justice system and society. The criminal
justice system, in regards to the film Crash, was reflected in such a way that is
understood in today s system. For example, police officers were quick to perceive
African Americans as wrongful doing. The process of interrogation came down to
force and inappropriate handling of an African American woman. Such stop and frisk
resulted in degrading the dignity of both African American persons stopped by the
White officers and the bad conduct performed by the older White officer was not
reported by any of the individuals leading to discretion from all especially discretion
from the White officer s partner. Discretion has been evident in many situations and

Brand Cannibalization
BRAND CANNIBALIZATION: EAT OR BE EATEN
With increasing commoditization of brands, differentiation is hard to come in every
industry. Consumers are now flooded with options, single company having several
brands in same product category. Positioning, targeting, segmenting can serve as
strategies no more. Rather it is the basic hygiene which any company needs to follow
if it needs to sustain in the race for market share.
So, what should a marketer adopt as a strategy? There are unconventional approaches
followed by Multinationals to address the goal of increasing their market share. With
consumer demand for innovation increasing, brand loyalty being a privilege of few

While there are two school of thoughts that argue about the same, I choose to
adhere to diplomacy. As it is true for every strategy, in implementation of it lies the
crux. There are examples of brands which faltered in the implementation and ended
up cannibalizing for no gain or for a loss of revenue and then there are these who
have learnt to effectively deploy it as a successful tool. If carefully planned, we even
may talk about new opportunities that can lead to increased sales and market share
(Proactive Cannibalization). And if a company does not have a strategic plan for
digital transformation someone else will (Passive Cannibalization).
To exemplify my stand on why the only answer is Effective cannibalization we
have a look at some previous decisions. Taking the example of The New York
Times, which saw newspaper sales plunge when they began posting free online
versions of their stories on the internet, it would not be wrong in calling it as
inefficient Cannibalization. But in this case, every other newspaper faced the same
situation since if they did not provide such services, the market share of New York
Times would increase, which was then undesirable. So they rushed and joined the
league since Cannibalism hurts if you eat your own toes, but it s better than starving .
On the contrary, a brand that uses their existing brand reputation to leverage a
successful cannibalization campaign is Gillette,

Conscientiousness, Agreeableness, and Openness to experience. A person does have
a small genetic bias relates to personality. Men and Women do have different genetic
makeup that is more prone to gender based social encounters. For example, with two

The unanswered question is Men from Mars and Women from Venus. The Five

Research Paper The most notable aspect of Jeffrey Eugenides s The Virgin
Suicides would be its first person plural narrative voice. Literary scholars have often
addressed the issue of the narrative voice and the effect that having multiple
narrators has on the story. In her article A story we could live with Narrative voice,
the Reader, and Jeffrey Eugenides s The Virgin SuicidesDebra Shostak addresses
how the we inadvertently draws attention to the otherness of the Lisbon girls. She
attempts to dispel the belief that The Virgin Suicides is a misogynistic text by
analyzing Eugenides s complicated use of the word we . Shostak s article gives
deep insight into the complexities of the plural narrative and provides a foundation
for future analysis of the text. However, what Shostak does not address is how this
perception of otherness, by both the narrators and the community in which they
reside, ultimately leads to the downfall of the Lisbon sisters. My argument is
twofold. Firstly, I will address how the perception by the narrators that the girls are
radically different from themselves and their community, combined with the tendency
to group the girls as a single monolithic entity serves as one explanation for the girls
deaths. Treating the girls as though they are the same person leads to the perceived
inevitability of their deaths, which ultimately plays a vital role in their untimely and
fatal ends.

Keble was founded in 1870 in memory of John Keble, who was passionate about
promoting and reclaiming the Catholic heritage of the Church of England. Fellow
enthusiasts were known as Tractarians (or The Oxford Movement) and it was they
that funded the college with the twin aims of ecclesiastical reform and an express
desire of making a first rate Oxford education more widely available. The
benefactor of the chapel, William Gibbs, was a businessman who made his fortune
dealing in Peruvian bird droppings, which was used as a fertiliser. Awesome

This wasn’t just revival Gothic, this was Butterfield revival Gothic and he
gave the chapel the same treatment. Colourful mosaics, tiles and stained glass fill the
interior, delighting the senses. William Holman Hunt’s original famous
painting; ‘The light of the World’ hangs in the adjoining side
chapel. Even at the time the designs drew criticism for being over elaborate. A French
visitor thought it was magnificent but better suited as a railway station. St
John’s of course hated it and even set up a secret society that demanded a
red brick be stolen from Keble to qualify for membership. Greater status was given
to members who provided a rarer cream brick. The intention was to cause the college
to crumble – time no object. The rivalry between the two colleges remains.
Four Quadrangles and attractive gardens The college consists of four traditional
quads: Pusey, Liddon, Haywood and Newman, along with gardens that have recently
had a major ‘make over’. Butterfield had not included any plantings
on his original drawings, believing they would be a distraction from his carefully
constructed work. However time and his fading influence finally gave way to the,
not surprising desire, to add a little greenery to the boarders. A number of significant
modern additions have come from cutting edge architects including Rick Mather. The

Assignment #7 This paper will examine the work systems and organizational structure
of the Healthcare Employees Benefits (HEB) Manitoba. I will explain the current
system in place and present how changes in work and technology may affect potential
future changes to the work systems. As well, the potential benefits and obstacles to
these changes will be explored. HEB Manitoba is the pension and benefit provider for
70,000 active and retired healthcare workers in Manitoba. It emerged from the
consolidation of three pension plans during two mergers in the mid 1990s. Since the
mergers, it has grown from 12 employees to more than 150 employees. It has a proto
typical hierarchal organization, with 1 senior executive, 5 executives, 25 managers
and approximately 120 employees. Some managers have no employees reporting to
them, but managers with direct reports average about eight employees each. The
departments divide according to job function, including finance, corporate services,
pensions and benefits, disability and information systems. The majority of the
departments split into further sub departments, with the largest department, the
pension and benefits department, consisting of 57 employees. Workflow generally
stays within one department, but can cross over between departments. Sub
departments typically focus on specific tasks, such as reviewing files for data
accuracy, preparing pension calculations, or administering the information network.
As the largest department, the

another captivating Young Adult book many known as To All the Boys I ve

readers. This book is quite intricate. You may end up either loving it or saying meh
to it. This could be due to characters way of dealing with circumstances, how the
plot line is by all accounts going at a moderate pace, and so forth. The story began
pleasant and straightforward. With Lara Jean, as the main character, being a
hopeless romantic who write letters to her crushes but never sends them rather, she
places them in her special hatbox. However, things got out of hand when the letters
were mailed out of nowhere without Lara knowledge. What s worse is that one out

This book has a really ambiguous ending, meaning, you re sorta left a cliffhanger.
And quite frankly, throughout the book, you ll most likely wind up being truly
baffled at Laura s naivety and the characters lack of development. But don t fret, as
there are a sequel and trilogy to this book. In addition, the story doesn t concentrate
excessively on the letters even if it were the cause of the conflict. But don t fret, as
there are a sequel and trilogy to this book. Nonetheless, I d recommend this book to
not just people who are interested in romance but also to those who enjoy reading
realistic fiction. The general tone of this book is light and comical so I thought that
it was pretty amusing to read. And regardless of the possibility that the book may
appear to be cheesy, the plot is to some degree relatable and the characters feel truly
genuine. I personally can t wait to see the movie as it s reported to be currently

Synoptic Gospels Figurative Language Analysis
The three synoptic Gospels, Matthew, Mark, and Luke each recount the good news
about Jesus. The authors of the aforementioned literature describe the same events as
if they had observed all of them personally and were reporting what they saw at the
time. These authors were very descriptive in their literature as they described Jesus
teaching (Harris, 2014). When reading the Gospels, the first feature which strikes
the reader is the way in which Jesus adapted His teaching to the type of hearer, with
whom He was dealing (n.d., Linderer). According to Matthew and Mark, Jesus
consistently taught in a figurative language. Figurative language can be described
as a figure of speech, language that compares, exaggerates, or means something
other than what it first appears to mean. Nevertheless, the signature style Jesus
used for teaching is the parable. A parable is similar to figurative language as it is
defined as placing beside or a comparison (Harris, 2014). In addition, it takes the
form of a brief fictional narrative, generally comparing some familiar object or
practice to the dawning Kingdom of God. An example of this Jesus comparing God s
Kingdom to the unexpected discovery of a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aphorisms are quotable statements that Jesus audiences would remember. An
example of this form of teaching would be when God said it is easier for a camel
to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
(Harris, 2014). It is sufficient to note that the teaching of Jesus was never dull and
that the teaching ministry was a means to an end. No one can read the gospels
without being impressed by the artistic character of Jesus teaching. He made
frequent use of metaphors, and constant use of similes, which were often of the most
creative kind. There is no doubt that his forms of teaching were relatively easy to
remember, caused people to think and were intended to be recalled (n.d.,
An Definition Of Moral Theory
Another moral theory, also born of Deontological Perspectives, comes from WD
Ross. In contrast to Kant, who stated that moral positions can be deduced by reason
and are absolutely binding, Ross believes that we determine moral positions through
intuition of the rightness or wrongness on the action. This intuition allows us to
determine what our duties are while these duties are not dependent on the outcomes
or circumstances, but how we rank these duties is dependent on a situation. In turn,
this creates what Ross refers to as Prima Facieduties. Prima Facie duties are duties
that are obligatory duties that can be trumped by other duties depending on our
situation. Ross gives an example of seven of these prima facie duties in his
writings: beneficence, non maleficence, justice, self improvement, fidelity,
reparation, and gratitude. These duties arise because we intuit them to be true and
binding duties. In Ross s view, all of these duties are binding, but he does not
exclude, as Kant does that these duties may overlap and run contrary to one another
in any given situation. We can only act in accordance with what our perception is
of the situation and try to do our best, but we may often fail as a result. While this
theory is superior to Kant in that it does allow for more universal applicability and
wiggle room to fit various cultures, the main issue with Ross s theory is that it relies
on the intuition of flawed humans to determine self evident duties and does not

Description
Suppurative inflammation of adipose and soft tissues of orbit is termed as orbital

targeted is unregulated speech. Many campuses are forming regulations on speech

on how information of others can be used or the manipulation of first amendment
can be used in a college setting. The fact remains that there is a substantial
difference between a corporation and a university. Universities are meant to be a
place of learning and just like science is able to accept new theories, we should be
willing to accept new ideas. Building tolerance as a community allows us to embrace
unpopular ideas. That being said, there is very good reasons to protect offensive or
unpopular speech. During the 1950 s, minority groups didn t have the right to vote
and civil rights movements sprung across the country. Voting right activists in the
South experienced various forms of mistreatment and violence. One such event on
March 7, 1965, when peaceful participants in a voting rights march from Selma,
Alabama, to the state capital in Montgomery were met by Alabama state troopers who
attacked them with nightsticks, tear gas and whips after they refused to turn back (
Voting Rights Act ). One can conclude, based on the reactions, the decision to call in
the state troopers and the state troopers attacking the protestors, that these individuals
found the protest offensive and threatening their values of white supremacy.
Therefore, should we banned offensive or popular speech solely on the fact that

throughout his life. During his childhood, John is a social outcast. He does not

makes it very difficult for him to create bonds with people, but he did occasionally
become acquainted with the other outcasts such as his friend named Jeff.
Robinson s teenage years were even worse. John was labeled as the class clown

However, after he quit school he had started working for a small band fixing their

from its past life before the plague and heavily plays on players fears with rooms of
huge spiders and plentiful snake enemies to haunt players. To make this worse the

John Quincy Adams Dbq
John Quincy Adams entered the administration with a few weakening political
liabilities, including John Quincy Adams himself. He had the personality of his dad:
Aloof, stiff necked and brutally free in his feelings. As president, John Quincy
neglected to add to the political connections required even among individuals from
his own gathering to impact critical change. It didn t help that his political rivals were
situated on making him an one term president.
In his first year in office, Adams proposed a few far located projects that he felt
would advance science, and in addition energize a soul of big business and
development in the United States; these objectives included building a system of
roadways and channels to interface the diverse
Reflection On Process Drama

A Reflection on My Experience of Process Drama
My preconceptions of Drama were that of taking a play and performing it. I
imagined that lines would have to be learned off by heart and rehearsal and
repetition would be vital in carrying out a successful drama lesson. I remember when
I found out that we would be taking drama as a module this semester it provoked
me to think back to my drama experience in primary school. I personally couldn t
remember much from drama in primary school other than nativity plays. I was very
excited to begin drama at the start of this year. I would consider myself to be very
outgoing and optimistic as a result of this I felt that I could succeed with drama. I
thoroughly enjoyed the workshops that we completed and I feel that our friendship
with our classmates was strengthened ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am a firm believer that empathy is essential in life. I always try to put myself in
others shoes and my experience with Process drama allowed me to do just that. As
Baldwin says Drama situations may portray real life situations , and because of
this I feel that it is excellent if these situations become realistic as the children will
already have experience with the situation. Drama makes immediate something
that is distant and vice versa Our lecturer said this and it really grasped my
attention and I believe this really signifies just how important it is to discover
empathy through drama. In our workshops conflict and tension were created in or
participation of drama we as students had to resolve this conflict and as a result we
gained experiences on how to resolve this problems in real life, If this was achieved
with children in a drama lesson it would most definitely coincide with the idea of
(Kitson,2005) that this would aid their learning and help them think of new
The Pollution Of Fossil Fuels
The world is currently run on decayed plants and animals that have been
transformed into crude oil, coal, and natural gas, by exposure to heat and pressure
over millions of years. These materials are known today as fossil fuels, and they
produce 84% of all energy created in the United States (Suplee 2014). Although
these sources are extensively used, they have a limited supply, eventually they will
run out. Even with new extraction methods such as fracking and offshore drilling
the deposits of fossil fuels in the world will diminish because of the extreme rate at
which they are being used. There is much speculation as to when the Earth will be
sucked dry, but whether it s 10 years from now or 1000, the threat still looms.
However, there is a much greater problem fossil fuels pose that already affects
everyone today. The burning of crude oil, coal, and natural gas to create energy
cause pollution that affects the atmosphere, the water, and the health of everyone.
The smog that comes from the smokestacks at power plants fills the air with more
carbon dioxide than nature can balance out. This excess carbon dioxide interferes
with the atmosphere and pokes holes in the ozone which is the major cause of
global warming. Over the next 100 years it is likely the global temperature will rise
by 11 degrees (Suplee 2014). Not only are temperatures rising but the emissions are
mixing with rainwater creating acid rain. This mixture of water and toxins pollutes
water which harms trees,
A Experiment On The Methane Rocket Essay
The practical which I have chosen will be the methane rocket. In order to test this
experiment I must have the correct equipment and follow the method correctly. The
equipment and chemicals for this will be: пЃ¬Goggles for eye protection пЃ¬Ear
defenders пЃ¬A rubber bung for the bottle to fit in. пЃ¬A soft drink bottle capacity
between 300cm3 and 500cm3 (Coca Cola 0.5L bottle). пЃ¬A measuring cylinder.
пЃ¬Rubber tubing for the gas tap to fit into. пЃ¬Gases (such as oxygen and methane,
these are the reagents for the experiment). пЃ¬School text book пЃ¬Protective gloves
пЃ¬A wooden splint пЃ¬Matches/lighter The method for this experiment is as
follows: 1.First fill the plastic bottle with water then pour the water into a
measuring cylinder in order to calculate its volume. 2.Then pour 1/3 of the bottle s
volume of water back into the bottle and mark out the level of it with a pen. (It s
important to only use the bottle once in the experiment as it can be weakened by
the explosion and can be dangerous if used again). 3.Then fill the bottle completely
and invert in a washing up bowl of water. 4.Place one end of the rubber tube that s
connected to the gas tap which is placed under the neck of the bottle and fill the
bottle up to the level you marked out with Methane from the gas tap. Then start to fill
the bottle up with oxygen. The bottle should contain a 2:1 ratio mixture of oxygen
and methane by the volume. 5.Stop the bottle with the rubber bung and place it on
the launch pad
Pedagogical Approaches To Arts Integration
contributing to the sociocultural and economic revitalisation of a community
(Stanziola, 1999). Therefore, when implemented effectively, arts integration begets
various beneficial outcomes for learners, and others within the educational and
community environments and such benefits relate particularly well to concepts
surrounding diversity and inclusion. Approaches to Arts Integration Inclusivity refers
to the pedagogical approaches adopted by educators to meet the demands of learner
diversity within the classroom environment. It is developing a sense of belonging,
value and being valued as well as accepting differences (Henderson and Lasley, 2014,
p. 11). Within an inclusive, arts integrated classroom, it is imperative for educators to
Importance Of The Articles Of Confederation
When the Founding Fathers came over from England they started shaping a new
government so they didn t have to live under a monarchy like they did in England. A
group of men got together and came up with The Articles of Confederation. The
Articles of Confederation was a document that helped build a national government
after it became independent from Great Britain. The colonial period helped form the
Articles because people came over for different reasons like religious freedom or
money. They hated the way the government was ran in Britain so they didn t want to
build a second government exactly like it. They wanted the government to be
completely different than the one they dealt with before so that s when they came up
with the Articles of Confederation. The Articles of... Show more content on

They asked congress to call for a national government to revise the Articles. In May
of 1787 there was a convention called the Philadelphia Convention where fifty five
delegates from twelve states were there to revise the Articles. Rhode Island decided
not to get involved with the revising. During the convention they decided to throw
out the Articles and start over. That s when they decided to write the Bill of Rights
and the United States Constitution.
After getting rid of the Articles of Confederation and coming up with the Bill of
Rights and the U.S. Constitution they formed a stronger government. The framers
wanted to assign distinct functions to three branches of government. There was now
three branches of government; the legislative, the executive, and the judicial. It
became a bicameral congress, and equal power was shared between the state and
national government. Voters would elect members of the lower house that was also
known as the House of Representatives. The upper house is known as the Senate and
the Senators are chosen by state
Maya Angelou Phenomenal Woman Analysis
History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, however, if faced with
courage, need not be lived again . These are words from the Maya Angelou who is
a black poet and a civil rights activist who loves to tell the story about her past.
Maya is known for being one of the voices for the black community in tough times.
To some she was known as a poet, to others she was a blessing. Through the use of
imagery, Maya expresses the importance of taking pride in your culture. While
older blacks focus on honor and respect, the youth focuses on fun. One can see this
in The Black Family Pledge when Maya says, because we have forgotten our
ancestors, our children no longer give us honor (1). By someone saying this you
can picture the pain of our elders. If you don t give any honor to someone what is
your purpose? You see the disappointment however in Ain t That Bad the youth see
no problem. Dancin the funky chicken, eatin ribs and tips (1). By reading this one
can almost taste the fun of the black people. Instead of focusing on the important
things the younger generation is more laid back.... Show more content on

In Phenomenal Woman you can see just how much they value themselves. It s in
the reach of my arms, the span of my hips, the stride of my step, the curl of my lips
(6). Many wonder what s the secret to black beauty and Maya simply states
everything she loves about herself to answer them. Tighten up my fro, wrappin up
in my blackness, don t I shine and glow? (Ain t That Bad 5). For years black
women have loved and embraced everything about them. Their beauty simply
defies all beauty. These 3 pieces of Maya Angelou s work is here to show the pride
black people take in themselves. Your culture is what makes you who you are and if
you don t have pride in your culture, do you have pride in
Bitter Is The New Black Analysis
Bitter is the New Black I chose to read the first in a series of memoirs authored by
Jen Lancaster, Bitter is the New Black: Confessions of a condescending,
egomaniacal, self centered smart ass, or why you should never carry a Prada Bag
to the unemployment office. The memoir goes into details about how her life
drastically changed after the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. The largest
change being that she was terminated from her place of work, making her lavish
way of living no longer obtainable. Throughout the entirety of the memoir Lancaster
did not hold back any of her thoughts, making her tone very relatable. She acted very
much like myself, however, Lancaster spoke her mind more than I would ever dare
to. Overall, Lancaster s word choice and tone connected with me extremely well. I
feel she understood her audience and how to connect to them through diction and
word choice.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She used her natural tone to appease to her audience, a lot of which has a similar
personality to her. I believe that Lancaster knew her target audience would be men
and women in a similar position to her, cynical and unemployed. Or, those men
and women shared a similar sense of humor and personality. Yes, Bethany, I
replied, because every romantic fairy tale ends with Prince Charming woofing up
blue nacho chips on the princess floral shower curtain from Target. (page 80,
chapter 3) Lancaster made it so every other sentence that came out of her mouth
was either sarcastic or sassy. She knew her audience was going to be mainly
composed of women and men who had similar personality traits as her, and would
appreciate her use of sarcasm and wit to get her points across. Additionally,
Lancaster used her sarcasm and sass to add an element of humor to her

Summary The Box , by Marc Levinson. Princeton 2006
Marc Levinson brings together in his book The Box , How The Shipping Container
Made The World Smaller And the World Economy Bigger, a history in unitised
freight handling in its birthplace, and shares with us an education in obsession,
innovation, and invention. He describes through his main character, Malcom
McLean, how to do business by integrating shipper, transporter, and customer in
controlled logistics/ in a smooth supply chain. Further, the reader is given a lesson in
investor relations whether they be public or private sector.
Despite regulated land transport, and unregulated freight handling on the docks, the

To run a high frequency service between major ports on a regular schedule (pp.222)
becomes the mantra for operating containerised sea freight. Although many countries
Government subsidise the investment of shipbuilding, or lend funds at very low rates

containers, and chassis, to provide an integrated service to their customers. The
sudden explosion of containers, containerships, enormous slot capacity between 1970

operating costs to keep the ships sailing.
Operating a profitable freight handling business requires ship lines ... to build bigger

Comparing the Beliefs of Martin Luther King and Malcolm X
By April 1968, two of the worlds most remembered civil rights leaders, who fought
for a difference in black America, had been assassinated. Despite their different
beliefs and their different ways of promoting this message, they both had the same
goal in mind; to promote black respect and pride. The visionary and angry voices of
Martin Luther King Jr., and Malcolm X together transformed theological thinking in
the African American community.
Martin Luther King Jr. believed that all blacks and whites should be treated equally

He also believed in non violent protests such as sit in s , freedom marches,
speeches against injustice and silent protests, he believed that it was never right to
use violence because this does not express the love of God, it just expressed hatred.
Even after his home was bombed, his family received threats against their lives, and
he himself was even stabbed, he still did not respond by using violence. King learnt
about this idea of non violence while studying Gandhi at college and became
impressed with the strength that this man had for not retaliating with violence when
it was put on him.
Gandhi was an important leader in India; to rid the British from his country,
Gandhi had his followers protest non violently for their departure. Whilst on a
visit to India, where King spoke to some of Gandhi s followers, King became more
and more sure that the way of non violence was the way to go to ensure his wishes
of freedom came about. The words of Gandhi that inspired King in his struggle for
freedom without violence were, Soul Force is infinitely superior to body force. If
people, in order to secure redress of wrongs, resorted to Soul Force, much of the
present suffering would be avoided. There is no such thing as failure in the use of
this kind of force. `Resist not evil means that evil is not to be repelled
Teenagers And The Struggle For Identity Analysis
Everyone is unique in their own way. People and the environment can change who
they to find out who they are. Identity describes one s various aspects of themselves.
It takes the time to find out who they are. People and the environment can affect one
s identity with struggles to overcome. Determination defines one s identity by setting
a pathway to follow because it shows how one s dreams are achievable.
From the times that identity is unclear, determination defines one s decision because
it can show one s integrity to pursue their dream. In the book, Modern Mythologies

In the article, Teenagers and the Struggle For Identity by Seth Mullins, he
describes the possible changes in a teen s identity. During the teen years, teens
need to figure out who they want to be before going to college. When teens
compare with someone else, Mullins states that kids can feel a strong urge to check
their own progress alongside that of another or to gravitate to people who, for all
outward appearances, seem to have it all figured out (Mullins, Teenagers and the
Struggle For Identity ). People can encourage someone to change their identity. One
person could dream to be their idol and they assume that their personality suits them.
With people s encouragement, their dream before may change, but they are alike like
somebody else. Even though people can encourage others to achieve one s dream,
determination is the guide that sets the dream. In the song, Hall of Fame by The Script

Nature In John Dunbar s Dances With Wolves
In order to see nature for what it is one must be often to new ideas. Each of the
characters, Lt. John Dunbar from Dances with Wolves, Dr. Ethan Powell from
Instinct, and Captain John Smith from Pocahontas find a natural draw to nature that
put them in an environment to learn. A same motif that I have found throughout
the three movies is each character who freely offers to take in a venture. For
example, Lt. Dunbar in Dances with Wolves was an army soldier who requested to
be at the outer edge of civilization which in this case is the frontier with a deep draw
to something he knew would be destroyed by human creations. Dr. Ethan Powell in
Instinct, after a while he approaches and study about the gorillas, he finds himself

John Smith in Pocahontas is captain of a ship on an exploration to a new world who
had a draw to nature which drove him to explore the new land around him as the

nature has an intimate relationship to human life when many others around them are
blind to nature.
Each one of the characters had to overcoming fears found in nature to be able to see
nature for what it is. In the movie Dances with Wolves, despite the thread of nearby
Native American tribes Lt. Dunbar still decides to stay at the frontier and manned
the post himself. His first experiences with Native American are pretty unpleasant.
They attempt to steal his horse and later one act in a very aggressive manner

Pros And Cons Of America In The Vietnam War
When a war starts only one can come out victories. America as shown over and over
again that they can take on anyone and that they aren t afraid to fight. Like in both
world wars America came out victories and showed they could stand and fight. But
through their victories they gained a arrogance that they couldn t be stopped. When
America entered the Vietnamwar they got a gut check and were shown that they can
be stopped. Both the world wars showed everyone that America is a power house
and is not a force to reckoned with, but the Vietnam war also showed that even the
most powerful can get beat. In 1917 America was pulled into the first world war.
The war started in 1914 and America was trying there best to keep from having to
enter the war. But in 1917 Germany shot a torpedo at a US ship for no reason, so
America had no choice they had to enter the war. When America entered the war
they were a little behind on all they new types of weapons and war fair. So America
started building new advanced weapons and preparing to show how dominate
America can be. They started making things like tanks, machine guns, and
submarines. This helped the US get the upper hand on all of there enemies and pout
them in more of a position to win the war. When the US started doing this it gave
them the edge over the people who they are fighting since both sides where using
trench war far these new weapons helped them to just have to sit in one spot and not
have to loose that many soldiers.

Theme Analysis of The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck
In The Good Earth , Pearl S. Buck takes you through the life cycle of a farmer who
feels an immense dependency for the land. Wang Lung, the main character, must
endure the challenges and struggles against society, the environment, and fatality in
order to provide for his family and ensure his rise from poverty to wealth. Within the
novel, several themes emerge. As entailed in the title, the earth is definitely the
central theme in the novel. Wang Lung s ascent from privation to riches, diligent
peasant to wealthy landowner, is a direct result of countless hours meticulously
tending to the land. Forming their home, feeding their bodies, and making their gods,

Religion and good fortune are also exhibited throughout the book. Wang Lung s
religious beliefs are a combination of different traditions. Because of his farming
roots, he burns incense in the fields before the two small gods to bring fortune to
the lands and to his family. But he also asks the goddess of mercy to give his
daughter in law son so he could get a new robe. He praises the gods when his
fortunes are rising and also finds fault in them when misfortunes arise. Wang Lung
is also superstitious and is a believer of omens. He also shows approbation for the
Confucian ideals of family docility and is appreciative when his son stands an
ancestral shrine in their home. As well as this, he gives donations to both Buddhist
and Taoist temples when his first son was born. Wang Lung and O Lan are overall
good people. Several actions arise within the novel which challenge the ethics in
which they live by. Infanticide, thieving, drug commercialism, and slavery all
question the codes of morality in China. Through this book we learn that there are
extreme cultural differences between ours and that of Wang Lung s. An additional
theme portrayed is wealth as the destroyer of traditional values. As Wang Lung s
fortunes rise, he becomes more and more similar to the Hwang family, whose fall is
the reason for his own rise. As his wealth increases, he is able to hire more workers,
an becomes obsessed with women
Supreme Court Segregation
US Supreme Court deems segregation unconstitutional following the case of Brown
VS Board of Education of Topeka. On May 17, 1954, the supreme court ordered all
schools to integrate. The supreme court announces a second ruling ordering all public
schools to be integrated with all deliberate speed (qtd. in History.com Staff.
Integration ), following the widespread resistance to the original integration orders.
The first school to be integrated was Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas on
September 4, 1957. The integration of Central High School transformed educationin
America by being the first school to be integrated, opening the door for other schools
to integrate, and gaining equality in education.

There are many laws in place to ensure all students receive access to schools
without their race coming into play, including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Green
Factors, and the rejection of a resegregation challenge. The Civil Rights Act of
1964 banned all forms of discrimination due to race. Therefore, making segregation
illegal and all acts of banning someone from a school because of their race. The act
also ensures that those who do not comply with the conditions stated, will be
prosecuted. The Green Factors were put into place in May of 1968. These factors
are used to tell if a school is integrated or not, as determined by the Supreme Court:
The judges establish six Green Factors to be used in determining whether a school
district has integrated, saying desegregation meant no more black or white schools,
just schools (Hannah Jones, Nikole). These factors allow school districts to tell if
their schools are integrated to the highest courts standards. In recent years, the
supreme court rejected the Nashville
resegregation challenge. Nashville, Tennessee recently went to the supreme court in
hopes that they could resegregate schools. This is because many neighborhoods in
Nashville are segregated in the form of race population, meaning there are more
people of one race than any other in specific neighborhoods: Without the policies to
promote integration the schools are segregated now just by neighborhood (DeMarr,
Anna). This gives Nashville a logical reason to appeal to the Supreme Court.
However, it was shot down due to previous rulings that it is unconstitutional to have
segregated
Compare Poisson And Negative Binomial Regression
The ultimate goal of this study was to compare Poisson and Negative binomial
regression models using road accident (count) data to assess which of them
significantly fit count data. The data for this study were obtained from the Building
and Road Research Institute of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research
(CSIR) on the number of people killed by road accidents in Ghana, including days
that those accidents occurred within the period from 2001 2010.The maximum
likelihood estimation was employed to determine the parameter estimates for each
model with R statistical package. The results showed that the negative binomial
regression model best fits road accidents data significantly as compared with the
poison regression model. The results also revealed that the day an accident occurred
within the week significantly affected the expected number of people killed in that
accident. It was identified that Saturday significantly had the highest number of
people killed in road accidents in Ghana.

Mexicans And Mexican American Youth
Throughout our history as a nation, we have earned a reputation of undermining the
relationships we have had with minorities and of largely neglecting their needs. Our
almost hostile nature towards minorities in the United States can largely be seen in
the treatment of Mexicans and Mexican American citizens in the times surrounding
World War Two. Such hostilities are reflected in our treatment of Mexican Americans
in the late 19th after the Civil War and early 20th centuries, the Sleepy Lagoon
murder responses, and the Zoot Suitriots. My primary source reveals a feeling of
inferiority in the United Statesby the Mexican Americanyouth due discrimination that
they faced, which can be better understood by analyzing the cultural contexts. As
railroads expanded during the United States western expansionist period in the late
19th century, Mexican immigration along with Eastern migration grew in the west.
Once the Mexican immigrants arrived, they largely occupied commercial agriculture
in large farms, mining industries, and the construction of railroads, but were
generally paid very little. During this time, as Arizona State History Professor
Manuel P. ServГn explained, the Mexican Americans that had been here for years
had already begun to feel despised by the Western Expansionists, and were looked at
as less American and an unassimilable foreigner. The lower class Mexican
immigrants and citizens largely assimilated on rail road cities, or Sonora towns, such

Introduction
A man was running walking to his destination and came across a mountain. He could
hear the sounds of those who were chasing him. The mountain like a colossus stood
defiantly in his path. All that he had was a rope and no equipment to climb the
mountain. It was either climb the mountain or risk being caught. There was no other
way to reach his destination. He looked at the mountain and made a decision. He
placed his hand upon the rock and started his ascent up the mountain.
Some people saw the man climbing the mountain from a distance and laughed at him.
The man ignored his critics and moved upon the rock. Inch by inch, he climbed the
mountain. Soon his hands were sore, his feet hurting but he kept on climbing. He had
no resources but his rope, his strength and his mind. Many hours later, he stood upon
the summit of the mountain. He did not climb the mountain because the mountain
was there. He climbed the mountain with no resources because he had no choice.
Growth Hackers like the man climbing the mountain have to grow rapidly because

Benefits Of Planned Parenthood
Over the last one hundred years the program known as planned parenthood has
selflessly devoting millions of dollars and countless hours. To providing health
care that is not only safe but also affordable. (Lawrence and Ness) The
comprehensive health care that planned parenthood provides is, in my opinion
extremely beneficial to every single man and woman that has ever happened to be
a patient of planned parenthood. Planned parenthood provides an extraordinary
amount of benefits that have helped millions of people all around the world.
Benefits such as free testing for sexually transmitted. Access to the full range of
reproductive and preventive health services for woman and men both.
Examinations, vaccinations, and abortion as well as many more. According to the
author of Defunding Planned Parenthood Defined Extreme politicians, led by Vice
President Mike Pence and Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price, want
to shut down Planned Parenthood . If so many benefits are being provided by
planned parenthood why is government funding for the program being taken away?
Excluding their personal feelings towards abortion. I personally cannot think of any
logical conclusion that would lead vice president Mike Pence and human services
secretary Tom Price to think shutting down planned parenthood is a good idea by
any stretch of the imagination. The services provided by planned parenthood are
much too valuable to simply disappear for millions of people. If these services where

Determination Of Water In A Hydrate Lab Report
This lab was conducted to find the percent water in a hydrate. A hydrate is a
compound with water chemically combined to other atoms. The chemical
compound tested in this experiment is Copper II Sulfate Pentahydrate, or

of this reaction begins blue and gradually turns white as the products are produced.
To ensure that all of the copper sulfate reacts thoroughly with the heat, it was

The Snap ( Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program )
And...
The SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and WIC (Women,
Infants, Children) programs both have similar jobs. Both programs attempt to
help feed struggling families. In the past SNAP allowed members to purchase
food staples and prepackaged food, but a recent bill is being made in order to
address these rules. These changes will deactivate members abilities to purchase
prepackaged food, and has limited them to purchase only food staples. These food
staples included foods such as rice, bread, fruits, etc. While the desired new rules
for SNAP are similar to the current rules of WIC, the bill will also attempt to allow
members of WIC to purchase white potatoes in addition to their food staples. Multiple
commodities economic standing will experience larger impacts on supply and demand
from this proposed bill s changes and implications. As SNAP shifts to strictly
staple foods, the economic impacts will implement changes on the supply and
demand of rice. In the short run the price of rice will rise and the demand curve of
rice will shift outward. This effect will take place because of SNAP s proposed
limitations. If the members of SNAP are limited to only food staples they will find
themselves demanding more rice than before. This shift will cause an upward
movement along the supply curve. There will be an increase in the quantity of rice
supplied in the long run because the demand will have grown from the limitations
placed on SNAP consumers that suppliers will have
Hamlet the Play and the Movie Essay
Hamlet the Play and the Movie Hamlet by William Shakespeare is a story about a
king that was murdered by his brother and the prince has been asked by his father?s
ghost to avenge his murder. The original story line has been altered a few times
since it has been written. The original Hamlet the play and the altered Hamlet the
movie are shown differently in many different ways. Hamlet the movie with Mel
Gibson shows different things than the play, but there are three major differences
between the two. The three major differences are in the way both of the productions
start out, differences in the scene that the players put on a play, and differences in the
way the productions end. The first difference is in the way the play and the... Show

He then calls for the lights and leaves. Other people stay behind while Hamlet
dances around and sings. Gertrude watches Hamlet and then leaves. In the movie,
this scene shows Claudius standing up and yelling ?lights? right when Hamlet
states that the murderer gains the love of the player king?s wife. Claudius quickly
leaves along with everyone else that was watching the play. Hamlet and Horatio
are left behind discussing the king?s reaction. Polonius enters and tells Hamlet that
the king is upset and that his mother wants to see him. The third difference is in the
way that the play and the movie ends. In the movie, Hamlet, Claudius, Gertrude,
and Laertes die from the poison, either by the sword or the wine. The movie ends
with Horatio holding Hamlet while he dies. The play ends completely different. As
Hamlet is dying, Horatio tries to drink from the poisoned cup but Hamlet stops
him. Hamlet says that he needs Horatio to report all that he has witnessed. A shot is
heard from far off and Hamlet asks what it is. He is told that it is Fortinbras,
returning from his Polish adventures. Hamlet with his dying breath, names
Fortinbras as his successor, then dies. In Summary, with these three examples it is
shown that the play and the movie contrast quite a bit. Most of the story line and the
dialogue were very similar to the original story in the movie but some things were
changed, possibly to shorten the story to be able to make
Effectiveness of Traditional Chinese Medicine Versus...
Abstract Eczema in paediatrics affects 25% of school going children in Singapore.
It is a common skin disorder and the prevalence has increased over the years.
Treatment options usually involve the use of corticosteroids in Western Medicine.
Researches have shown that the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has
increased widely in Singapore as an alternate treatment for eczema. The purpose of
this pilot study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the two different treatment options,
evaluating the duration, outcome and recurrence rate of eczema in paediatrics. A
selective sampling will be used to obtain a total sample size of 50 participants from 2
different clinics. A questionnaire will be used to obtain data from parents awaiting...

Upon completion of the survey, a token of appreciation will be given to the parents
to acknowledge their participation in this study. This will be in a form of a small
notebook titled Eczema Diary which can be used to record the progress of their
child during the course of treatment. After two months, the surveyors will contact
the parents to follow up on the child s progress with the respective treatments based
on the 3 follow up questions. Ethical implications We will first seek consent from
the Head of Department in the respective clinics in order to conduct this study in
the clinics. Upon approval, the surveyors will set up posters for advertisement
purpose at the counter of the respective clinics. The surveyors will approach the
parents awaiting consultation at the respective clinics. Upon conducting the
survey, the surveyors will have to seek permission from the caregivers to conduct
the survey. They will also need the parents consent to follow up with the progress
of their child for a period of 2 months. The surveyors will need to get approval to
have the parent s contact details so as to collect the data necessary for the study.
Dissemination of results The findings will be reported to the Singapore Health
Promotion Board. This will increase the public awareness for children with eczema
and provide better outcomes about treatment options for eczema. Work plan This
pilot study will take a total of 3 months. The first two weeks will be
Evaluation of the Movie 42
Evaluation of the Movie 42 When I first viewed this movie, I already knew some
of Jackie Robinson s history, but I was still moved by this revealing depiction of
his life during the years 1945 1947. This true story, which was released April 12,
2013, followed what I had learned about Jackie and stayed accurate while still being
extremely entertaining. Jackie Robinsons number on his jersey was 42, he wore that
number his entire Major League career with the Brooklyn Dodgers. The movie 42 is
a biopic of the legendary baseball player Jackie Robinson, when in 1947 Jackie
became the first African American player to break Major League Baseballs color
barrier. The great directing, acting, and writing made this film enjoyable to watch.

Jackie immediately tells the attendant to stop pumping gas into the team s bus. At
which point, the attendant backs down and lets Jackie use the restroom. That
scene helped me to understand Jackie s distain for discrimination. The next
incident of segregation we witness involves Rachel, when she is surprised to see a
whites only sign on a women s restroom door at an airport in Florida. The actress
did a fantastic job of showing the shock and disbelief that Rachel expressed since
she was from Pasadena, California and had never been exposed to this type of racial
discrimination.
When I first saw the cast, I was not quite sure what to expect. Two of the three
leading roles, were not household names. I had not seen or heard of the actor
playing Jackie Robinson, nor had I heard of the actress playing his wife Rachel
Robinson. Chadwick Boseman did great in his portrayal of Jackie as was Nicole
Beharie playing the role of Rachel. The two of them on screen together made for a
great team. Chadwick was especially talented in his ability to show the anguish in
his facial expressions when he faced insults and injuries. Boseman s performance
as a professional ballplayer, loving husband, and father as well as a man that
knows how to restrain himself when dealing with racism on and off the field
reflects his skill as an actor. Nicole Beharie plays a wife with the it s us against the
world mentality, flawlessly. She seems perfect for the role of Rachel who is not

The Siberian Tiger
What are the seven characteristics of a Tiger? Does the tiger have single cell
organisms or do they have multicellular organisms? How much sunlight do they
need? What does a tiger do when the season change? How does a tiger grow from
baby to an adult? How does a tiger reproduce and how well do they adapt to their
environment? A tigerhas multiple cells, so it means that it is a multicellular
organism. A tiger has cells called eukaryotic cells. A tiger has a different skull
structure than a lion has. A tiger s skull is specially designed. The way it is made it
don t just protect the eyes and the brain it also allows the jaw to have powerful
strength. The skull is short and rounded, which means all of the power comes from
A Discussion Of Campaign Finance Regulation
In his discussion of campaign finance regulation, Christiano argues that with cases of
gatekeeper mechanism and opinion formation mechanism, campaign expenditures
should be regulated to prevent drowning out of the opinions of nonaffluents. He
proposes that certain regulations will actually help protect and promote freedom of
expression, and suggests to limit expenditures and distribute vouchers during
campaign periods. Using a prima facie equation, I will argue against the claim that
Christiano s restrictions interfere unduly with freedom of expression and defend his
proposal as a valid resolution to the problem of drowning out.
Christiano identifies two mechanisms by which expenditures influence a political
system and drowns out the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most obvious criticism of Christiano s proposal is that regardless of a regulation s
intent or effect, regulation of campaign expenditures is an infringement on
freedom of expression. Many consider one s allocation of one s own resources to
be a mode of expression, and the Supreme Court has generally upheld this view in
Buckley vs. Valeon and Citizens United vs. FEC. In this sense, limiting campaign
expenditure is specifically limiting those who are able and willing to provide
private expenditures from doing so. Such a limitation can been seen as a violation
of freedom of expression, and Christiano s proposal to limit certain expressions in
order to promote freedom of expression can seem absurd.
Christiano, however, argues that this temporary limitation is not an unduly
interference because the cost of campaign regulation on freedom of expression is
surpassed by its benefits for freedom of expression. He admits that the affluents will
be restricted from fully wielding their economic advantages, but he claims that this
limitation will preserve and promote diversity of opinions during the campaign
period and also ensure long run development of discussions. Because campaign
regulations will prevent diversity of ideas from being diluted by drowning out,
political discussion will
Comprehension And Responding For Literature
INTRODUCTION
Comprehension and responding to literature are used to help learners grasp the
concept of the information or text to make meaning. Allowing them to draw from
their prior knowledge eventually building on what they already know. As learners
read they should make meaning of the text, while the teachers encourage learners to
use various strategies along the way. With the educator observing and noting how the
learner is processing text, occasionally providing guidance in use of reading
strategies. According to Bainbridge Heydon( 2013, p. 277). However this paper
consist of choosing an appropriate book to conduct a read aloud, choosing two
comprehension strategies, reflecting on my teaching, saying why I chose the
strategies, describing the read aloud experience, saying how the responding to
literature went and explaining how the activity strengthen comprehension.
Comprehension and responding to literature is one method I believe that will assist
learners to gain more understand from the text they read. I was honored to carry out
this activity; the book that was used was The Prince and the Pauper Olmstead, Akib,
Twain (2007).This book contains various chapters; however, our focus was on the
first chapter. The story was very interesting and evoked curiosity, as I read aloud with
the child. Read aloud promotes various opportunities for learners to obtain positive
attitude toward books and reading, the understanding that written language is
Essay on The American Dream in The Jungle by Upton...
Muckraking, to search for and expose real or alleged corruption, scandal, or the like,
especially in politics (dictionary.com). Upton Sinclair gained fame in the early 1900 s
from his muckraking novel, The Jungle, describing the life of a young Lithuanian
immigrant, Jurgis, living in Chicago in pursuit of the American dream. Jurgis found
out that America isn t as good as it appeared; with higher wages came more
expensive goods, and with cheaper houses came higher interest rates. The Jungle, a
fictional novel, tells of the real horrors of working in a Chicago meat packing factory.
Sinclair had gone undercover, in a meat factory, for seven weeks to gain the
information necessary to write the book. Throughout the novel, there are hints of...

Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, Henry Ford, Cornelius Vanderbilt, and JP Morgan
along with the formation of unions. The Jungle, from 1906, has been deemed as a
classic denunciation of industrial capitalism and one of the most revolutionary
novels of the age (wordsocialism.org). In the Progressive Era , Sinclair s ideas were
at the center of the social movement, due to the brutality of the time period, The
Jungle was not easily published. The aesthetics of a novel include the way an author
uses elements of style, such as imagery, irony, and paradox, to enhance characters,
plot, and theme. From this perspective, The Jungle is not considered quality
literature. (cliffsnotes.com) Others thought that Sinclair only wrote the novel as
propaganda for his political career, or as a simple muckraking novel. He was not
thought to write nonfiction, so his words could not always be trusted. For these
reasons, Sinclair was not considered a serious author.
Sinclair was an expressive socialist, and showed his beliefs in his novels. In The
Jungle, Sinclair frequently referenced socialism and how it would fix all the
problems created through capitalism. Capitalism is not the problem.
Vertical Ears Momentum
Many researchers are interested in the generation of angular momentum during
turning dance movements. In a study on the pirouette en dehors, researchers found
that skilled dancers generate larger vertical angular momentum as the number of
turns increases by predominantly increasing the rate of momentum generation.
Angular momentumis generated when the dancer applies a torqueabout the vertical
axis by pushing sideways in opposite directions with both feet. The normal fourth
position preparation is ideal for creating this angular momentum as the feet exert
equal horizontal forces in opposite directions to produce the twisting effect, or torque
(Kim et al., 2014). Thus, the vertical angular momentum is generated from the torque
applied by the feet through the foot. In their book,... Show more content on

The action of the push off foot and the leg is the most important in determining the
effectiveness of a traveling leap. To maximize the height and distance, the dancer
should turn his or her foot in so that it points in the direction of the motion. This
creates a large available angle of extension during the takeoff, creating an overall
strong leap (Laws Sugano, 2008). Additionally, according to a study conducted on the
effect of jumping distance on component ankle and knee joint axial forces generated
during the landing phase of traveling jumps, dancers must develop more horizontal
velocity during longer jumps to travel farther in the same amount of time as shorter
jumps. The results of a study found that, at longer jump distances, there were
significant increases for the peak horizontal ground reaction forces, as predicted.
However, the peak ground reaction forces increased at greater jump distances, which
was not anticipated. Therefore, at greater jump distances, greater knee extensor
movements were required to reduce the vertical momentum of the body (Simpson

The National Language For England Essay
England, birthplace of Shakespeare, situated in western side of Europe, is a
country which is a part of United Kingdom, shares its borders with Scotland (to
south) and Wales (to west). It comprises most of southern island of Great Britain. It
is separated by Europe by English Channel and North Sea. The national language
for England is English and has a fascinating blend of ethnic groups and
international cultures. It has a land area of 130,279 km2 (50,301 sq mi) with total
population of 54,786,300 (2015 estimate). In fact England alone makes up for
80% of population in Europe. Major cities include London, Birmingham, Leeds,
Glasgow, Sheffield out of which London being largest the most populous city.
Great Britain is the third most populous island in the world. It does has a wide
variety of religion according to 2011 census out of which Christianity is the most
widely practiced of all. Population in england currently holds 65 million (approx in
2014) and considering the current migration rate (185,000), birth death rate is
projected to increase almost 10 million by the year 2039 i.e., a 15% increase. Seeing
current demographic conditions it will be approx 71 million by 2027. The political
system of England consists of parliamentary system constitutional monarchy. There
has been no government for England since early 1700. Currently it is governed by
parliament of United Kingdom, though other countries still have decentralized
government. HEALTHCARE IN ENGLAND: Healthcare
Dog Breeds That Are Discriminated Against Unfairly
There are some dog breeds that are discriminated against unfairly. For example, Pit
Bulls and associated mixed breeds are known to have targets on their backs. This is
thanks to vague and poorly founded Breed Specific Legislation or BSL . I am
against Breed Specific Legislation, in my opinion, it a product of the miseducation of
the public at large. As well as, a misrepresentation of entire breeds by a few dogs who,
due to circumstances beyond their control acted out in a violent way. These actions
unfortunately, have often brought harm to a human or other living creature.
When you turn on your television you may see a dog food commercial with a happy
puppy with its head tilted to one side, you may also see a car commercial where
the boy and the happy go lucky dog grow up together as dad drives the same car
year after year. Rarely if ever is the dog in such a scenario of a Bully or Wolf
Hound breed. This is often attributed to the fact that these particular canine types
look a certain way, exhibit certain behaviors, or maybe they just are not as cuddly
as other dog breeds. For reasons as silly and illogical as this, many dogs, and
specifically many Pit Bulls are put to death, often without cause.
As a kid in the early 90 s, I recall that Rottweilers were the dangerous breed of the
time. Pit Bulls and other breeds, now find themselves under that same scrutiny. The
fact is, that all dogs can be dangerous and are capable of harm. It will not be too long
until the laws
Intensity Of Exercise Research
Question/Aim:
How does the intensity (amount) of exercise performed (walking/running) affect the
heart rate, oxygen saturation in blood and the frequency of breathing?
How does the amount of time exercised affect the heart rate, oxygen saturation and
the frequency of breathing?
How does this affect the human body? The cardiovascular system? The respiratory
system?
Does this have a significant influence on the blood pressure?
Hypothesis:
If the intensity of exercise and the time of exercising increases (not simultaneously),
then the heart rate will escalate to a higher pace, the oxygen saturation in the blood
will increase, and the frequency of breathing will multiply rapidly. First off, I will be

Independent Variable 2 (Experiment 2): Time of Exercise (Measured by Minutes)
This information will be collected and manipulated by setting an accurate timer as to
each one of the sections of exercise. There will be 3 sections in total, 5 minutes, 10

Men s Lacrosse Research Papers
Lacrosse is a team sport that originated with Native Americans who lived in the
northeastern areas of the US and in Canada. The first documentation of the game
came from a Jesuit Missionary in the mid 1600s making it the oldest game in
North America. It is believed to have developed around 1100 AD. Competitions
were major events that could go on for days and involve 100 to 1,000 men. The
rules were agreed upon the day before the competition was scheduled to begin. Today
the rules of the game have been codified to help prevent any confusion.
The sport of Lacrosse is played by both men s and women s teams. The rules for
each are similar, but there are differences. For example, body checking is illegal in
the women s game. That is why the amount of protective equipment in the women
s game is far less than that for the men s game. The men s game uses ten players
while the women s game uses 12 players. Women s sticks cannot have mesh for the
pockets, and the ball must be located above the sidewall every time it is in the
pocket. This makes shooting and stick handling much more difficult than in the men
s game. The field size for men is 60 yards by 110 yards while that for women is ...

These 10 positions include 3 attacks, 3 mid fields, 3 defenders, and a goalie.
Throughout the game there are tactical rolling substitutions such as you might see in
ice hockey. This gets fresh players on the field so that the game can be played at an
extremely fast pace. The purpose of the game is to score as many points or goals
as possible in the time allotted. The goals are 6 feet by 6 feet, and they are placed
about 10 yards into the playing surface so that players can run behind them, again,
much like ice hockey. The tennis sized ball is made of solid rubber so it can hurt if
it hits you at a fast speed. A game has 4 quarters of 15 minutes each, and the teams
with the most points at the end of the fourth quarter

  • 1. King Tut Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of King Tut can be both intriguing and challenging. On one hand, the historical significance of King Tutankhamun offers a rich tapestry of information, including his mysterious death, the discovery of his tomb, and the artifacts within. On the other hand, the challenge lies in presenting this information in a cohesive and engaging manner. Researching King Tut involves delving into ancient Egyptian history, archeological findings, and deciphering the symbolism associated with his reign. This process demands a careful balance between historical accuracy and narrative flair. Additionally, exploring various perspectives on the reasons behind his premature death and the implications for ancient Egyptian society adds complexity to the task. Organizing the essay requires structuring the content in a logical sequence, addressing key aspects such as King Tut's life, the circumstances surrounding his death, and the impact of his reign on Egyptian culture. Maintaining a coherent flow while incorporating relevant historical context and scholarly insights is vital. Furthermore, the challenge extends to avoiding the common pitfalls of repetitive information and clichГ©d statements often found in essays on well-known historical figures. Consumers are now flooded with options, single company having several brands in same product category. Positioning, targeting, segmenting can serve as strategies no more. Rather it is the basic hygiene which any company needs to follow if it needs to sustain in the race for market share. So, what should a marketer adopt as a strategy? There are unconventional approaches followed by Multinationals to address the goal of increasing their market share. With consumer demand for innovation increasing, brand loyalty being a privilege of few companies and E commerce providing an instant comparison amongst ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While there are two school of thoughts that argue about the same, I choose to adhere to diplomacy. As it is true for every strategy, in implementation of it lies the crux. There are examples of brands which faltered in the implementation and ended up cannibalizing for no gain or for a loss of revenue and then there are these who have learnt to effectively deploy it as a successful tool. If carefully planned, we even may talk about new opportunities that can lead to increased sales and market share (Proactive Cannibalization). And if a company does not have a strategic plan for digital transformation someone else will (Passive Cannibalization). To exemplify my stand on why the only answer is Effective cannibalization we have a look at some previous decisions. Taking the example of The New York Times, which saw newspaper sales plunge when they began posting free online versions of their stories on the internet, it would not be wrong in calling it as inefficient Cannibalization. But in this case, every other newspaper faced the same situation since if they did not provide such services, the market share of New York Times would increase, which was then undesirable. So they rushed and joined the league since Cannibalism hurts if you eat your own toes, but it s better than starving . On the contrary, a brand that uses their existing brand reputation to leverage a successful cannibalization campaign is Gillette,

  • 6. Jeffrey Eugenides s The Virgin Suicides Shelagh Joseph Jennifer O kell ENGB05 Tuesday, November 25, 2014 Research Paper The most notable aspect of Jeffrey Eugenides s The Virgin Suicides would be its first person plural narrative voice. Literary scholars have often addressed the issue of the narrative voice and the effect that having multiple narrators has on the story. In her article A story we could live with Narrative voice, the Reader, and Jeffrey Eugenides s The Virgin SuicidesDebra Shostak addresses how the we inadvertently draws attention to the otherness of the Lisbon girls. She attempts to dispel the belief that The Virgin Suicides is a misogynistic text by analyzing Eugenides s complicated use of the word we . Shostak s article gives deep insight into the complexities of the plural narrative and provides a foundation for future analysis of the text. However, what Shostak does not address is how this perception of otherness, by both the narrators and the community in which they reside, ultimately leads to the downfall of the Lisbon sisters. My argument is twofold. Firstly, I will address how the perception by the narrators that the girls are radically different from themselves and their community, combined with the tendency to group the girls as a single monolithic entity serves as one explanation for the girls deaths. Treating the girls as though they are the same person leads to the perceived inevitability of their deaths, which ultimately plays a vital role in their untimely and fatal ends.

Keble was founded in 1870 in memory of John Keble, who was passionate about promoting and reclaiming the Catholic heritage of the Church of England. Fellow enthusiasts were known as Tractarians (or The Oxford Movement) and it was they that funded the college with the twin aims of ecclesiastical reform and an express desire of making a first rate Oxford education more widely available. The benefactor of the chapel, William Gibbs, was a businessman who made his fortune dealing in Peruvian bird droppings, which was used as a fertiliser. Awesome reputation for sport Keble is one of the largest colleges in the university with around 225 postgraduates and 443 undergraduates and has an even mix of men and women. Colourful mosaics, tiles and stained glass fill the interior, delighting the senses. William Holman Hunt’s original famous painting; ‘The light of the World’ hangs in the adjoining side chapel. Even at the time the designs drew criticism for being over elaborate. A French visitor thought it was magnificent but better suited as a railway station. St John’s of course hated it and even set up a secret society that demanded a red brick be stolen from Keble to qualify for membership. Greater status was given to members who provided a rarer cream brick. The intention was to cause the college to crumble – time no object. The rivalry between the two colleges remains. Four Quadrangles and attractive gardens The college consists of four traditional quads: Pusey, Liddon, Haywood and Newman, along with gardens that have recently had a major ‘make over’. Butterfield had not included any plantings on his original drawings, believing they would be a distraction from his carefully constructed work. However time and his fading influence finally gave way to the, not surprising desire, to add a little greenery to the boarders. A number of significant modern additions have come from cutting edge architects including Rick Mather. The absolutely fabulous futuristic bar opened in 1977 and is the work of Ahrends, Burton and Koralek. Keble

I will explain the current system in place and present how changes in work and technology may affect potential future changes to the work systems. As well, the potential benefits and obstacles to these changes will be explored. HEB Manitoba is the pension and benefit provider for 70,000 active and retired healthcare workers in Manitoba. This could be due to characters way of dealing with circumstances, how the plot line is by all accounts going at a moderate pace, and so forth. The story began pleasant and straightforward. With Lara Jean, as the main character, being a hopeless romantic who write letters to her crushes but never sends them rather, she places them in her special hatbox. However, things got out of hand when the letters were mailed out of nowhere without Lara knowledge. What s worse is that one out of the five letters were about her older sister, Margot s, ex boyfriend, Josh.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But don t fret, as there are a sequel and trilogy to this book. Nonetheless, I d recommend this book to not just people who are interested in romance but also to those who enjoy reading realistic fiction. The general tone of this book is light and comical so I thought that it was pretty amusing to read. And regardless of the possibility that the book may appear to be cheesy, the plot is to some degree relatable and the characters feel truly genuine. If a cloud computing server is hacked the company could lose some important files and the hacker may be able to gain access whenever they want. • 13. Synoptic Gospels Figurative Language Analysis The three synoptic Gospels, Matthew, Mark, and Luke each recount the good news about Jesus. The authors of the aforementioned literature describe the same events as if they had observed all of them personally and were reporting what they saw at the time. These authors were very descriptive in their literature as they described Jesus teaching (Harris, 2014). When reading the Gospels, the first feature which strikes the reader is the way in which Jesus adapted His teaching to the type of hearer, with whom He was dealing (n.d., Linderer). According to Matthew and Mark, Jesus consistently taught in a figurative language. Figurative language can be described as a figure of speech, language that compares, exaggerates, or means something other than what it first appears to mean. Nevertheless, the signature style Jesus used for teaching is the parable. A parable is similar to figurative language as it is defined as placing beside or a comparison (Harris, 2014). In addition, it takes the form of a brief fictional narrative, generally comparing some familiar object or practice to the dawning Kingdom of God. An example of this form of teaching would be when God said it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. (Harris, 2014). It is sufficient to note that the teaching of Jesus was never dull and that the teaching ministry was a means to an end. No one can read the gospels without being impressed by the artistic character of Jesus teaching. He made frequent use of metaphors, and constant use of similes, which were often of the most creative kind. There is no doubt that his forms of teaching were relatively easy to remember, caused people to think and were intended to be recalled (n.d.,
  • 14. An Definition Of Moral Theory Another moral theory, also born of Deontological Perspectives, comes from WD Ross. In contrast to Kant, who stated that moral positions can be deduced by reason and are absolutely binding, Ross believes that we determine moral positions through intuition of the rightness or wrongness on the action. This intuition allows us to determine what our duties are while these duties are not dependent on the outcomes or circumstances, but how we rank these duties is dependent on a situation. In turn, this creates what Ross refers to as Prima Facieduties. Prima Facie duties are duties that are obligatory duties that can be trumped by other duties depending on our situation. Ross gives an example of seven of these prima facie duties in his writings: beneficence, non maleficence, justice, self improvement, fidelity, reparation, and gratitude. These duties arise because we intuit them to be true and binding duties. In Ross s view, all of these duties are binding, but he does not exclude, as Kant does that these duties may overlap and run contrary to one another in any given situation. We can only act in accordance with what our perception is of the situation and try to do our best, but we may often fail as a result. While this theory is superior to Kant in that it does allow for more universal applicability and wiggle room to fit various cultures, the main issue with Ross s theory is that it relies on the intuition of flawed humans to determine self evident duties and does not

Universities are meant to be a place of learning and just like science is able to accept new theories, we should be willing to accept new ideas. Building tolerance as a community allows us to embrace unpopular ideas. That being said, there is very good reasons to protect offensive or unpopular speech. The Pollution Of Fossil Fuels The world is currently run on decayed plants and animals that have been transformed into crude oil, coal, and natural gas, by exposure to heat and pressure over millions of years. These materials are known today as fossil fuels, and they produce 84% of all energy created in the United States (Suplee 2014). Although these sources are extensively used, they have a limited supply, eventually they will run out. Even with new extraction methods such as fracking and offshore drilling the deposits of fossil fuels in the world will diminish because of the extreme rate at which they are being used. There is much speculation as to when the Earth will be sucked dry, but whether it s 10 years from now or 1000, the threat still looms. However, there is a much greater problem fossil fuels pose that already affects everyone today. The burning of crude oil, coal, and natural gas to create energy cause pollution that affects the atmosphere, the water, and the health of everyone. The smog that comes from the smokestacks at power plants fills the air with more carbon dioxide than nature can balance out. This excess carbon dioxide interferes with the atmosphere and pokes holes in the ozone which is the major cause of global warming. During the teen years, teens need to figure out who they want to be before going to college. When teens compare with someone else, Mullins states that kids can feel a strong urge to check their own progress alongside that of another or to gravitate to people who, for all outward appearances, seem to have it all figured out (Mullins, Teenagers and the Struggle For Identity ). People can encourage someone to change their identity. One person could dream to be their idol and they assume that their personality suits them. With people s encouragement, their dream before may change, but they are alike like somebody else. Even though people can encourage others to achieve one s dream, determination is the guide that sets the dream. John Dunbar from Dances with Wolves, Dr. Ethan Powell from Instinct, and Captain John Smith from Pocahontas find a natural draw to nature that put them in an environment to learn. A same motif that I have found throughout the three movies is each character who freely offers to take in a venture. For example, Lt. Dunbar in Dances with Wolves was an army soldier who requested to be at the outer edge of civilization which in this case is the frontier with a deep draw to something he knew would be destroyed by human creations. America as shown over and over again that they can take on anyone and that they aren t afraid to fight. Like in both world wars America came out victories and showed they could stand and fight. But through their victories they gained a arrogance that they couldn t be stopped. When America entered the Vietnamwar they got a gut check and were shown that they can be stopped. Both the world wars showed everyone that America is a power house and is not a force to reckoned with, but the Vietnam war also showed that even the most powerful can get beat. In 1917 America was pulled into the first world war. The war started in 1914 and America was trying there best to keep from having to enter the war. But in 1917 Germany shot a torpedo at a US ship for no reason, so America had no choice they had to enter the war. When America entered the war they were a little behind on all they new types of weapons and war fair. So America started building new advanced weapons and preparing to show how dominate America can be. They started making things like tanks, machine guns, and submarines. This helped the US get the upper hand on all of there enemies and pout them in more of a position to win the war. When the US started doing this it gave them the edge over the people who they are fighting since both sides where using trench war far these new weapons helped them to just have to sit in one spot and not have to loose that many soldiers.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 banned all forms of discrimination due to race. Therefore, making segregation illegal and all acts of banning someone from a school because of their race. The act also ensures that those who do not comply with the conditions stated, will be prosecuted. The Green Factors were put into place in May of 1968. These factors are used to tell if a school is integrated or not, as determined by the Supreme Court: The judges establish six Green Factors to be used in determining whether a school district has integrated, saying desegregation meant no more black or white schools, just schools (Hannah Jones, Nikole). These factors allow school districts to tell if their schools are integrated to the highest courts standards. In recent years, the supreme court rejected the Nashville resegregation challenge. Nashville, Tennessee recently went to the supreme court in hopes that they could resegregate schools. This is because many neighborhoods in Nashville are segregated in the form of race population, meaning there are more people of one race than any other in specific neighborhoods: Without the policies to promote integration the schools are segregated now just by neighborhood (DeMarr, Anna). This gives Nashville a logical reason to appeal to the Supreme Court. However, it was shot down due to previous rulings that it is unconstitutional to have segregated

Compare Poisson And Negative Binomial Regression The ultimate goal of this study was to compare Poisson and Negative binomial regression models using road accident (count) data to assess which of them significantly fit count data. The data for this study were obtained from the Building and Road Research Institute of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) on the number of people killed by road accidents in Ghana, including days that those accidents occurred within the period from 2001 2010.The maximum likelihood estimation was employed to determine the parameter estimates for each model with R statistical package. The results showed that the negative binomial regression model best fits road accidents data significantly as compared with the poison regression model. The results also revealed that the day an accident occurred within the week significantly affected the expected number of people killed in that accident. Our almost hostile nature towards minorities in the United States can largely be seen in the treatment of Mexicans and Mexican American citizens in the times surrounding World War Two. Such hostilities are reflected in our treatment of Mexican Americans in the late 19th after the Civil War and early 20th centuries, the Sleepy Lagoon murder responses, and the Zoot Suitriots. My primary source reveals a feeling of inferiority in the United Statesby the Mexican Americanyouth due discrimination that they faced, which can be better understood by analyzing the cultural contexts. As railroads expanded during the United States western expansionist period in the late 19th century, Mexican immigration along with Eastern migration grew in the west. Once the Mexican immigrants arrived, they largely occupied commercial agriculture in large farms, mining industries, and the construction of railroads, but were generally paid very little. During this time, as Arizona State History Professor Manuel P. Both programs attempt to help feed struggling families. In the past SNAP allowed members to purchase food staples and prepackaged food, but a recent bill is being made in order to address these rules. These changes will deactivate members abilities to purchase prepackaged food, and has limited them to purchase only food staples. These food staples included foods such as rice, bread, fruits, etc. While the desired new rules for SNAP are similar to the current rules of WIC, the bill will also attempt to allow members of WIC to purchase white potatoes in addition to their food staples. Multiple commodities economic standing will experience larger impacts on supply and demand from this proposed bill s changes and implications. As SNAP shifts to strictly staple foods, the economic impacts will implement changes on the supply and demand of rice. In the short run the price of rice will rise and the demand curve of rice will shift outward. This effect will take place because of SNAP s proposed limitations. If the members of SNAP are limited to only food staples they will find themselves demanding more rice than before. This shift will cause an upward movement along the supply curve. There will be an increase in the quantity of rice supplied in the long run because the demand will have grown from the limitations placed on SNAP consumers that suppliers will have

Claudius quickly leaves along with everyone else that was watching the play. Hamlet and Horatio are left behind discussing the king?s reaction. Polonius enters and tells Hamlet that the king is upset and that his mother wants to see him. The third difference is in the way that the play and the movie ends. In the movie, Hamlet, Claudius, Gertrude, and Laertes die from the poison, either by the sword or the wine. The movie ends with Horatio holding Hamlet while he dies. The play ends completely different. As Hamlet is dying, Horatio tries to drink from the poisoned cup but Hamlet stops him. Hamlet says that he needs Horatio to report all that he has witnessed. A shot is heard from far off and Hamlet asks what it is. He is told that it is Fortinbras, returning from his Polish adventures. Hamlet with his dying breath, names Fortinbras as his successor, then dies. In Summary, with these three examples it is shown that the play and the movie contrast quite a bit. The most obvious criticism of Christiano s proposal is that regardless of a regulation s intent or effect, regulation of campaign expenditures is an infringement on freedom of expression. Many consider one s allocation of one s own resources to be a mode of expression, and the Supreme Court has generally upheld this view in Buckley vs. Valeon and Citizens United vs. FEC. In this sense, limiting campaign expenditure is specifically limiting those who are able and willing to provide private expenditures from doing so. Such a limitation can been seen as a violation of freedom of expression, and Christiano s proposal to limit certain expressions in order to promote freedom of expression can seem absurd. Christiano, however, argues that this temporary limitation is not an unduly interference because the cost of campaign regulation on freedom of expression is surpassed by its benefits for freedom of expression. He admits that the affluents will be restricted from fully wielding their economic advantages, but he claims that this limitation will preserve and promote diversity of opinions during the campaign period and also ensure long run development of discussions. In a study on the pirouette en dehors, researchers found that skilled dancers generate larger vertical angular momentum as the number of turns increases by predominantly increasing the rate of momentum generation. Angular momentumis generated when the dancer applies a torqueabout the vertical axis by pushing sideways in opposite directions with both feet. The normal fourth position preparation is ideal for creating this angular momentum as the feet exert equal horizontal forces in opposite directions to produce the twisting effect, or torque (Kim et al., 2014). Thus, the vertical angular momentum is generated from the torque applied by the feet through the foot. In their book,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The action of the push off foot and the leg is the most important in determining the effectiveness of a traveling leap. To maximize the height and distance, the dancer should turn his or her foot in so that it points in the direction of the motion. This creates a large available angle of extension during the takeoff, creating an overall strong leap (Laws Sugano, 2008). Additionally, according to a study conducted on the effect of jumping distance on component ankle and knee joint axial forces generated during the landing phase of traveling jumps, dancers must develop more horizontal velocity during longer jumps to travel farther in the same amount of time as shorter jumps. The results of a study found that, at longer jump distances, there were significant increases for the peak horizontal ground reaction forces, as predicted. However, the peak ground reaction forces increased at greater jump distances, which was not anticipated. Therefore, at greater jump distances, greater knee extensor movements were required to reduce the vertical momentum of the body (Simpson Kanter,

I will only be testing 2 different paces, a walking pace (4km/h) and a running pace (7km/h). This will be collected and manipulated by the different paces that will be tested, as I will have stated in the procedure below. Every 5 minutes, I will stop to test each aspect in order to ensure that the data collected is reliable and accurate. Independent Variable 2 (Experiment 2): Time of Exercise (Measured by Minutes) This information will be collected and manipulated by setting an accurate timer as to each one of the sections of exercise. There will be 3 sections in total, 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 15 minutes. Each continue after one another. After each 5 minutes, I will be testing each one of the factors in order to come to a better conclusion, seeing as there will be more information regarding this
  • 54. Men s Lacrosse Research Papers Lacrosse is a team sport that originated with Native Americans who lived in the northeastern areas of the US and in Canada. The first documentation of the game came from a Jesuit Missionary in the mid 1600s making it the oldest game in North America. It is believed to have developed around 1100 AD. The goals are 6 feet by 6 feet, and they are placed about 10 yards into the playing surface so that players can run behind them, again, much like ice hockey. The tennis sized ball is made of solid rubber so it can hurt if it hits you at a fast speed. A game has 4 quarters of 15 minutes each, and the teams with the most points at the end of the fourth quarter
