Hero Makes A Hero
Heroes are the certain type of people that would give up their own life, just to
protect you and the people around them when things go wrong. A quote from
Robert De Niro he says Time goes on so whatever you re going to do, do it. Do it
right now. I think a hero would use this quote in a tough situation like if he were
trying to save someone he would do it now because time goes on. A herorepresents
the people, a hero makes many sacrifices that a everyday person couldn t think of
doing. A hero is always trying to do the right even when things don t always go their
way, or the way they need it to go, overall, hero stays strong. Heroes make sacrifices
to protect those around them. A quote from Doctor
Says this at lincoln s funeral Though our beloved president is slain our beloved
country is saved Over the grief of president lincoln being assassinated, he believes
that lincoln is an almighty hero for re uniting the union, defeating the south, and
free all the slaves in the South. Lincoln is recognized for all his accomplishments,
and his overall heroism. Lincoln made so many sacrifices and I think he is the
hero of the north and liberator of the slaves. Another quote from Donald Trump is
Sometimes by losing a battle you find a new way to win the war. This quote
represents a hero in so many ways because sometimes a hero cannot have always go
their way. But if the hero learns from his mistakes like what trump is saying when he
says the battle is lost learn from your
Langston Hughes On the Road Essay
Langston Hughes On the Road In Langston Hughes, On the Road the Sargeant is a
homeless Black man that is desperate for food and shelter. In his desperation,
Sargeant goes to the church to refuge, but there is no one at the Church to help him
get refuge. Although Sargent is living in a time where the depression is in existence
amongst all people, Black and White, he finds no one to help him. Sargent goes to
the Church because the Church helps people. However, because Sargeant is Black
and the Church is populated by a White congregation, he is rejected. In the story One
the Road , one of the people: A big black unemployed Negro holding onto our
church... The idea ! This represents that Sargent wants the benefits of the white...

As the Church denied that Christ died, was buried and risen, the white
congregation was denying that Sargeant was a free man with rights. Hughes
illustrates the reasons people do no like the Church today. Rev. Dorset, white or
black, should have had compassion for Sargent. It is disappointing to see Rev.
Dorset turned away Sargent, especially during the depression. A follower is a
reflection of his/her leader and that is why everyone ignored and refused to help
Sargeant. A Church has always been the place where anyone can be accepted.
Christ says: They have kept me nailed on the cross for nearly two thousand
years(619). This line symbolizes the stumbbling blocks that a congregation can
cause to an individual. Although the congregational members have the power, their
power was not enough to keep the Church together. As long as racism exists in a
society, the oppressor and the oppressed will be bound and never free. When the
church fell down, symbolically, it was Sargeant who fell. And when the Sargent got
up and started walking, Christ was walking beside him. At this moment Sargent
finds comfort, approval and company with Christ. Imagine roaming around a
neighborhood with no one to talk to, no family, and no friends, and because of
Christ s presence he is no loner anxious about when and where he is going to eat.

Current State of the Economy
Germany, despite having the largest economy in Europe and fifth largest in the
world, has begun to feel the effects of the worldwide economic downturn and debt
crisis in Europe. Economists have even begun to predict stunted growth in the
incoming year. A council of economic advisors was established in the country in
1963. The council has forecasted the inability to grow in 2013 because of the
anticipated continuation of decline in exports. This decline has been attributed to the
debt crisis in greater Europe. They have predicted, however, that unemployment rates
will remain relatively stable, at under 7%. In this paper, we will go in ... Show more

Descriptive Essay On A Rare Bird
A quiet bird. One that lived deep inside the forest. One that was barely seen when
wanderers passed the green and brown of the trees, and the underwood, the grass
and the leaves. All they ve seen was the sunlight filtered through this army of
leaves above their heads and in height of their eyes, caressing their faces as they
pass through a void of never ending emerald. The tears of a bygone night moistened
their cheeks and they d ignore the mourning. Footsteps sunk deep into the velvet
ground covered by moss. They sank so deep that the strollers were afraid of being
locked into this green hell forever. Dragonflies and other winged insects rose with

Instead, I am a bird and the hunter caught me. A big, darkly dressed fellow with
dead eyes and skin as bright as silk when it lay in my mother s hand. The silk my
mother s face was covered in when she died. Her face gone, hidden beneath a layer
of expensive fabric. I never understood why they would do such a thing, hiding a
face of a beloved beneath a cover. Then, the hunter grabbed me tight and put me
into a wooden cage. He tapped his finger against it and smiled at me. Surely, he did
not mean me harm, but he harmed me anyway. I cannot flap my wings, I can no

No one needs to tell them what time to get up and go to work. If they re in a new
situation they take the initiative to ask. They ask, seek, and knock. People enter a
profession without background all the time and succeed because they practice the
leadership quality of self reliance. They take personal responsibility for developing
the necessary skills and knowledge to be a successful leader.
Leaders are aware that when you exercise initiative and self reliance, you live a life
with a vision, purpose and goal direction. Just taking charge can be what leadership
is all about a self starter.
Consider the following suggestions for developing initiative and self reliance:
1) Start a written goals program dealing with developing the courage and will to
expand your initiative and self reliance no matter what others think, say or do. Keep
it simple, review it daily, track your progress, and test for results.
2) Write a plan of action about something you want to lead and spend at least 10
minutes every day on that plan of action and do it for every area of your life. If you
do nothing more than just read it every day. That s an affirmation. It s spaced
repetition. It s getting it from your conscious into your subconscious.
3) Take the action steps that you plan in your plan of action. Great plans and fantastic
goals are worthless unless they exist in actions rather than just on the paper. They
must be translated with initiative into daily activity. All the plans of
Why The Paradox Between Practitioners Of The Different...
1. Introduction
It is well known that economics is the study of how individuals and groups make
decisions with limited resources so as to best satiate their needs and wants. Similar to
many disciplines, economics relies on well established assumptions; among others
include: individuals base their choices on stable, well defined preferences. In
addition, many economic models are built on the assumption that individuals are
solely motivated by self interest. Indeed, the relatively miniscule consideration for
fairness in standard economic theory sticks out like a sore thumb when one studies
between economics and the other social science disciplines.
The question remains, why the paradox between practitioners of the different
disciplines? A potential hypothesis is that economists themselves are poles apart in
the sense that economists behave differently in situations involving social
cooperation. If proven right, a natural follow up question is whether this distinction is
nature or nurture.
This paper tests the differences between economists and non economists by using two
quite famous economic games: the Ultimatum Game and also the Dictator Games.
Having participants play both games is the key innovation of this study s design,
allowing yours truly to separate altruism and equity from strategy.

Optimism And Pessimism In The Great Gatsby
I believe that the three texts that I have studied contained moments of optimism and
pessimism which in turn have shaped my opinion of the general vision and
viewpoint. This alludes to the feelings and emotions portrayed through the omniscient
camera in The King s Speech , the morally inclined narrator Nick Caraway in The
Great Gatsbyand the protagonist in the novel Foster . I was very intrigued to find out
more about these societies and the vision the author/director hoped to convey.
The Great Gatsby opens in the boom years in the summer of 1922, commonly
known as the Jazz Age . The opening is conveyed as a mix of optimism and
pessimism. At first we are introduced to Nick Caraway,

In T.K.S, Bertie faced a barbaric upbringing which he solemnly shared with Logue.
This is evident when he revealed how cruel his nanny was, tunelessly singing She
pinch me so I d cry, and be sent away at once, then she wouldn t feed me, far far
away. (speaks) Took three years for my parents to notice. As you can imagine, it
caused some stomach problems. This left me feeling much more sympathetic
towards Bertie and further implemented my pessimistic opinion of the portrayal of
children in the past. This is also seen in T.G.G as Pammy, Daisy s daughter is only
seen once during the entire 1920 s novel and we realise that she, like Bertie, had
nannies who took care off her rather than her parents. A sense of negativity is also
conveyed towards children here as Gatsby ,when first introduced to Pammy, was
described as looking at the child with surprise. I don t think he had ever believed in
its existence. she is described as an it and Gatsby then realises that he can t repeat
the past with Daisy and that his obsessive longing for her was a waste of time. I
believe that this pessimistic feeling was a factor in his volatility towards Tom in
the Plaza. Similarly in Foster , Mildred like a predator, pounced on the innocent
protagonist and questioned her about the Kinsella s personal affairs such as where
does the old dog sleep, Is she allowed to spend.... . Mildred then inconsiderately
informed the little girl of the Kinsella s boy s passing, stating sure didn t he follow

A Strategic Planning And Management System Essay
Introduction
Organizations and industries today have undergone rapid and accelerating change,
creating uncertainty and complexity in the business environment. Markets are
increasingly competitive and pressured to do things faster, better and cheaper. They
are challenged to develop new organizational characteristics such as expertise and
innovation in order to quickly respond to changes in technology and customer
preferences. Organizations can no longer rely on traditional analytical approach to
understand their industry. Nowadays, intangible assets are just as important as
physical assets and the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is an innovative approach that
considers the financial and non financial perspectives in determining the performance
level of an organization.
Question 1
The BSC is a strategic planning and management system designed to translate an
organization s mission and vision into a comprehensive set of objectives,
performance measures and implementations in order to achieve business goals. The
BSC retains financial metrics as a measure for company success, but supplements
these metrics from three additional perspectives customer, internal process, and
learning and growth (Kaplan and Norton 1992, 1993). Financial data are analyzed to
understand financial performance of the organization. Customer feedback is used to
gather customer satisfaction on the products or services. Internal business processes
are evaluated by assessing quality, productivity and innovation.
Trust In Nursing
Western civilization, the United States in particular, is far more diverse than any
other country, thus it must deal with, and respect, a greater array of backgrounds and
cultural identities. This added diversity intensifies the pressure placed on physicians
to invest in establishing a personable bond of trust and security between a patient and
his or her caretaker. Western medicinedoes a rather fair job of catering to most
religious beliefs and cultural diversities, but it can vastly improve the personal
attention given to each individual patient. This supposed inattention to individual
patients significantly threatens patient outcomes as a result of the lack of trust
between patient and physicianas well as a clash of ideologies in regards... Show more

Many religions and backgrounds have boundaries that contradict common medical
practices. For instance, a Middle Eastern woman enters the hospital and it is clear
from examining bloodstains through her Abaya and Thawb, common dress codes
for a Middle Eastern woman, that she has suffered lacerations to her abdomen and
chest. This seems like a pretty simple diagnosis and prognosis, or way to go about
treatment. However, it is against her practices to show bare skin in that region to
anyone except her husband. In concurrence with the beliefs of Tsai, the doctor s
primary job is to help all patients in need, but must respect the autonomy of the patient
first and foremost permission is priority (Medicine and Society). Even though it may
not be the best decision, at the end of the day the physician must respect the requests
of the patient. Nevertheless, it is the doctor s responsibility to disclose all information
about the treatment, illness or issue with the patient and let the patient make an
autonomous decision based on the facts provided. On top of all other
responsibilities, a doctor also is responsible for taking all possible measures in
treatment thinking of outside the box ways to treat the problem without having to
invade or disrespect the desires and customs of the patient. The key is that being on
the same team and

them in our camp, but the Rangers have mostly contained them. Trouble is, what
Yosemite are you talking about? Yosemite Valleywhere most of the camping is, or

Globalization defined simply is the process of international integration derived from
the exchange of culture that is fueled by the movement of investment funds and
businesses beyond domestic and national markets.(Investopedia, 2003) The relation
between globalization and design lies with the cultural exchange that occurs within
the process of cohesion. According to Geert Hofstede s Cultural Dimensions, every
country can be measured in terms of high individualism / collectivism, power
distance, uncertainty avoidance, masculinity/ femininity or short / long term
orientation. (Hofstede, 2015) Evidently one can infer that every country has a

Thus it can be concluded that in order for design to progress, embracing global
trends is an inevitable outcome in order for design to better satisfy changing times
and consumer needs. However it must be stressed that we should also do our best
to preserve regional crafts as it forms the basis of design. With the continuous
advancement of technology, the world has evolved to become a global marketplace.
The world has and always will be adapting products from a variety of seemingly
exotic far away lands. Bridging the difference between the old views and the current
modern view one method is that we can seamlessly integrate into a global system
through communication, technology and philosophy. In order to retain much of our
culture that seems to be lost in our fast paced society, one has to presenting a firm and
strong foundation in our cultural and historical design knowledge, studying
population trends, making use of production and decor trends and their relation to the
global market. (Kermi,

The Problem of the Grudge Informer: A Dialectical Essay Introduction Problem
Lon Fuller s The Problem of the Grudge Informer outlines quite a legal dilemma:
are the acts of a past regime s grudge informers deserving of prosecution? Fuller
narrates a scenario regarding a central issue that is plaguing the administration of a
recently overturned democratic state, previously ruled by an unethical regime after a
bout of economic disparity. In response to such hardship and social chaos, factional
groups formed such as the anarchic Purple Shirt party. Through the use of scare

This will effectively cool public outcries immediately and due to the length of
trials for the many clear cut cases, by the time the unambiguous cases are
addressed, the public will have already been calmed sufficiently. At that point,
ambiguous cases can be looked at individually and tried under law, even though the
results are expected to be imperfect. Therefore, we should readily prosecute
grudgers whose cases are discernible and in obvious accordance with the
transgressions of Purple Shirtism by way of current democratic procedure, and
later address equivocal suits on a case by case basis. Dialectic Although there is
good reason to believe that at least some of the grudge informers should be
prosecuted, not everyone agrees. Deputy 2 maintains that the grudge informers
should in fact not be prosecuted. He argues for this position by asserting that the
very essence of law was scarce in the face of a terrifying, anarchic regime, which
functioned by instilling a war of all against all conducted behind barred doors, in
dark alleyways, in palace intrigues, and prisonyard conspiracies (Fuller 3), a single
phase of which were the acts of the grudge informers. He feels that it is not possible
to judge their acts as either lawful or unlawful on the grounds that the Purple Shirts
were not a lawful government, ergo the grudge informers did not live under a regime
of law at all. He
Factors And Positive Impacts Of Calcium Hydroxide
Calcium Hydroxide
Calcium Hydroxide, or simply known as hydrated lime serves many functions like
reducing the acidity in soil or lakes, an additive in cement, a raw material for mortar,
cleaning agents.
Controlling the pH of soil pH is a measure of how acidic or alkali a substance is.
The acidity or alkalinity of soil is important because it influences how successfully
plants take up nutrients from the soil. Nutrients are essential for the growth of the
plants. The pH range from 6.0 to 7.5 is considered to be most suitable for nutrients to
dissolve (Rodale Inc., n.d.). Absorption of nutrients by the plant may not be possible
if the soil solution the mixture of nutrients in the soil and water, is too acid or alkaline.
The effects of poor development and fruiting from crops may be exhibited if the soil is

Hydrated lime is not a hazardous substance to human beings or to the environment. It
is also significantly inexpensive than Sodium hydroxide that is why it is commonly
used. However, it is more difficult to handle.
Negative Impacts
Using too much of the calcium hydroxide will make the soil too alkaline, then it may
not be the best level of pH for plants to grow in. It has been shown from the
Singapore gardening society that most nutrient disorder in plants grown in soils with
more than 20% of hydrated lime is chlorosis because of the bicarbonate
concentration (Singapore Garden Society, 2009). Limestone is a non renewable
source as there is only a finite amount on earth but as liming has already been done
for many years in many countries around the world. Lime is a semi liquid mixture,
meaning that it will rapidly separate from the solution. Continuous agitating and
chemical delivery lines must be kept in motion inside the storage tank otherwise the
lime will separate from the
How Beowulf Is A Hero
Beowulf is a poem about a great hero that was told by the scops before the 700s.
The story tells about how Beowulf fights against the most dangerous monsters and
the worst kind of evil. In the end, Beowulf is killed because of the wound from the
mighty dragon, but not before he kills the beast. Beowulf is a strong warrior from
Geatland. He is the best warrior around and puts his life on the line multiple times
throughout the poem to keep his title. Because Beowulfis courageous, dependable,
and selfless, he is a hero. Beowulf is very courageous, so he is a hero. Throughout
the poem, Beowulf shows how courageous he is multiple times. The definition of
courageous is not deterred by danger or pain(Courageous). One specific time that
he was courageous was when he left Geatland to go fight a monster over in
Denmark. Heard how Grendel filled nights with horror/ And quickly commanded a
boat fitted out,/ Proclaiming that he d go to that famous king,/ Would sail across the
sea to Hrothgar,/ Now When help was needed ( Raffel 29). These lines show courage
because Beowulf did not have to go fight a monster that was not bothering his land.

The definition of dependable is reliable and trustworthy(Dependable). In the poem,
Beowulf always comes through with the win. He killed both Grendel and Grendel
s Mother as well as the dragon. King Hrothgar begs Beowulf to please help kill
Grendel s Mother, and he agrees to complete the task or die trying. And you, may
now sleep/ Without fear of either monster, mother/ Or son. (Raffel 75). Beowulf
succeeds in killing both Grendel and his mother. Since Beowulf always completes
his tasks and accomplishes what he has set out to do, he shows how dependable he
is to the people. Heroes are always dependable, and Beowulf is always someone to

Why I Didn t Get A Ticket For The Boat
Please, Mr. Henderson. Melissa tugged her shawl tighter around her shoulders
despite the glow of coals from the stove inside the small brick office. Half past nine
o clock and the sun had yet to break through the morning clouds. With rain
threatening, along with its tendency to turn the roads into quagmires deep enough to
swallow a horse or two, she needed to persuade the banker soon.
He glanced up at her, then returned to perusing the papers in front of him, which
included the deed to her land, Rancho Cabrillo. It had been a gamble. She d known,

While she waited with growing impatience for his response, Melissa considered the
person who now held her fate in the palm of his hand. He was a solemn looking
gentleman of about thirty. His short blond hair was carefully combed, his mustache
neatly trimmed. His well tailored suit spoke of understated wealth, but unlike her
family, he carried an air of new money. Also unlike her family, a certain glint of
kindness shone in his eyes; a kindness that renewed her hope and strengthened her
resolve. Maybe he would be the one to say yes.
But then his gaze dropped his. The tapping ceased and he leaned forward, sliding the
stack of papers back to her. I wish I could help you, DoГ±a Cabrillo. I truly do.
Unfortunately, the Mexican government issued this deed.

Beta Alanine Essay
Beta alanine (BA), only recently, has rapidly become one of the most popular
performance enhancing compounds in the world. Since the first human study in
2006, BA is commonly found in most popular pre workout supplements on the
market today (Trexler, et al., 2015). BA is a naturally occurring amino acid produced
in the liver. BA is also contained in animal proteins such as turkey and beef, and
therefore can be increased somewhat through the consumption of animal protein.
Significant increases, however, require various means of supplementation. Beta
alanine has been cited as a rate limiting precursor to carnosine synthesis (Harris, et
al., 2006). BA supplementation has been shown to increase levels of carnosine in
skeletal muscle.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additional roles of carnosine beyond Ca2+ regulation and pH buffer include its
ability to act as a scavenger of free radicals and singlet oxygen, both of which are not
only damaging, but also limit performance (Kohen, et al.,1988). Regarding BA
supplementation and administration, there has been some opposing views on which
means of supplementation is most beneficial. Some research suggests that BA is
most effective when front loaded. Consuming 4 to 6g per day, preferably with meals
has demonstrated the maximum desired effect, with more significant benefits seen
after four weeks (Harris, et al., 2009; Stegen, et al., 2013). Some clinicians, however,
maintain that oral administration is minimally effective. A 2016 study by Sharpe,
Macias demonstrated a definite improvement in performance in short duration, high
intensity exercise by athletes using a topical gel to administer carnosine
transdermally. The study does maintain that more testing does need to be done,
however, brings up scientific reasons why oral ingestion may be less efficient due to
GI damage to the supplement. The purpose of this literature review is to provide
insight into the effects of beta alanine in performance. The research demonstrates that
BA ingestion is, in fact, beneficial to athletic performance, with a significant portion
of data showing it is more efficient in shorter duration, moderate to high intensity
activities lasting 60 to 240 seconds specifically.
Automobile Dbq Research Paper
The automobile had an astounding affect on both the economy and culture of
America. It allowed for the average American to have more freedoms and
opportunity, blurring the lines between rural and city life. However, the automobile
was not without its drawbacks. Many people were killed as a result of reckless or
inexperienced drivers. The automobilealso did an exceptional job of draining the
savings accounts of Americans. One thing can be certain: For better or for worse, the
automobile changed the face of America forever.
The Automobile had profound economic impact. Americans could now commute to

Emergency services provided by firemen, policemen, and physicians flourished with
the help of the automobile (Document 6).
The automobile revolutionized the culture of America. Suddenly, people were free to
travel where they wished, with no restrictions (Document

and the theater (Document 7). The automobile is making leisure time enjoyment a
regularly expected part of every day and week rather than an occasional event.
(Document 11) Along with other early
21st century innovations, the automobile greatly changed the way
Americans lived their lives. However, not all cultural changes regarding the
automobile were positive. The automobile lured many families into an investment
they could not afford to upkeep. Between gasoline, repairs and upgrades, the costs
quickly add up (Document 3).
There were no shortage of safety issues with the automobile. Unlike the wealth of
airbags and other safety features included in modern cars, the automobiles of the early

Mistrust. An infant trusts that their caregiver is going to be there to meet their

that infants learn during early infancy a sense of trust by having their needs met

bit for a parent s attention, especially, if the parent is feeling overwhelmed or
anxiety due to the fact that the she is feeling enslavement by the baby always

behavior based on maternal care: sensitivity insensitivity, cooperation interference,
and acceptance rejection. Ainsworth believed that a mother to form positive
attachment should be able to interpret her baby s signals and respond promptly,
understand that the baby is individual, to intervene in the babies activities without

After I analyze everything, I will be making a critic on how I felt about the movie.
Starting with plot is basically a jury of 12 men trying to find out if a boy is guilty
or not guilty for the stabbing of his father. Juror 8 changed the other eleven jurors
with facts and the help of the others the boy was set free. The exposition of the
story was about how juror 3 at the end would not vote not guilty because of his bad
history with his son. The point of attack is when the one guy that says not guilty and

Fear In Lord Of The Flies Quote Analysis
Fear is an obstacle that mankind has had to face since the beginning of time. The
Lord of the Flies captures the terror of being all at once alone with yourself, yet
surrounded by the unknown. When Jack came back from his hunt and spoke of his
fear to Ralph, when SamnEric thought they saw the beast, and when Simon explained
his fears of the boys becoming the beast themselves, they were all beginning to
succumb to the allure of fear. Fear is a dangerous thing; it can hunt you down, catch
you, and become you.In the beginning of the book, when Jack had just returned from

are dealt on the premises. Also it showed that the school had certain types of
groups and portrayed that the school had fights and that they happen very often. In
some case the black American and other minority groups like the Hispanics were

the boys think what they are doing is right. The darkness of the clips depicts the time

Drug Cartels gauge their actions based on this criteria. This paper explores the
history of drugs, both legal and illegal, the profitability of both the legal industry
and illegal enterprise. It will also look at what is being done to combat the illegal
aspect of the issue as well what is being done to keep the margins up and the coffers
filled. Drugs, illegal and legal, have been a part of the history of the United States for
almost three centuries. From the time when the 19th century began, Americans went
from alcohol as the preferred mood altering substance to a new realm of addiction.
During this time Americans were acquaint with wonder drugs such as morphine,
heroin, and cocaine. Since that discovery, our society has confronted the problems of
drug abuse and addiction (DEA, 2015). Once the 20th century began, the United
States, contending with its first drug epidemic in the country s short history,
progressively started effective limitations to combat the epidemic. In the United
States through internal law enforcement they began to fight the issue domestically.
Through cooperation and sometimes without the United States began spearheading
a world crusade to limit opium and coca crops (DEA, 2015). By World War II, the
use of drugs in America had declined significantly enough for it to no longer be
considered a significant issue. It was then seen as a borderline social problem and

self efficacy is developed through mastery, social modeling, social persuasion, and

Social modeling when people see others like themselves, succeed by sustained effort

Causes Of Rebellion In Catcher In The Rye
The reason teenager has a common rebel to thing is because we are still young

Benoist. This Oil painting, done on canvas, shows encased in a wreathed and rustic
bronze frame woven in fertile vines bearing fruit. With the respectful dimensions of
100.33 cm (39.5 in.) length and 81.6 cm (32.13 in.) width, and hanging slightly

young women it portrays. However as visually stunning as this paintingmay be, the
real beauty can be found in the history, controversy, and significance this work
conceals in secret.
Marie Gullemine Benoist also known as Marie Guillemine de Laville Leroux was
born in Paris France in 1768 where she later died in 1826. Being brought into the
world at the height of the neoclassical art movement it is no wonder this is where
she drew her artistic inspiration. The heavy influence of this style can be seen quite a
bit through the detailing Benoist included in her works of art. She is prominently
known for the romantic dresses, realistic contoured body detailing, and portrayal of
beauty rather than the reality which strictly corresponds with this style influenced by
the classical art and culture of ancient Rome and Greece. ... Show more content on

Pros And Cons Of Shih Tzu
The Shih Tzu is among the most popular of dogs and ranks quite high in ownership
according to the American Kennel Club. Even though it is highly ranked as dogs
adopted or purchased each year, there are some pluses and minuses to owning this
particular breed of dog as a pet. Below you will find some of the more important
reasons for and against owning one these lovable little pets.
Pros:
A Shih Tzu is a highly outgoing and friendly pet with everyone they come into
contact with. They will almost turn themselves inside out when attention is paid to
them. This particular breed is also very loyal to their owners and loves to please
them. They are going to get along with nearly every type of animal that it comes into
contact with as well.

You will find that if the dogis not brushed daily and groomed weekly, your pet s
coat can become tangled and knotted. Many owners have their pets coats trimmed so
they are easier to care for.
Some of the medical problems with Shih Tzus are that they may develop ear
infections and eye problems and can have early tooth loss. They do tend to wheeze
and snore and may develop respiratory problems. These dogs should not be overfed
as they gain weight easily.
Even though there are several cons to owning these adorable little dogs I believe
the pros outweigh them by far. Even though they aren t the ideal older pet for a
young family this can usually be overcome by getting a puppy and then teaching the
children how to treat the pet and at the same time teach the dog how to interact with
its humans. Ask a Shih Tzu owner about their pet and you will probably get rave
reviews and many reasons why you should get one.

The Use Of Truth In Medea By Euripides
In Medea by Euripides, Medea lies, persuades, and uses truth in order to get her way
with the people that surrounded her in everyday life. These examples happen in
everyday life.
An example of truth, stated by James P. T. Fatt, an expert at the art of persuasion,
says Finally, the concept of scarcity can be used to make the potential buyer feel
that he or she must act quickly to participate in a bargain or to make the buyer feel
that he or she is somehow special in respect to the product or service offered.
Opportunities seem more valuable to us when their availability is limited (Fatt). By
taking advantage of this type of deception, the person having the barter applied to
makes he or she feel obligated to respond that moment. They will feel if they don t
take advantage of this barter that there will be no other in the world and that they
must act then. This is a great example of how Medea uses her craftiness against
Aegeus in making him offer his land for her protection. In Medea, Medea offers
Aegeus an offer of a lifetime, she says, You may not realize what a find you ve
found in me: for I shall end your barrenness, and I shall make you potent to seed
progeny (Med.1.716 717). When Aegeus says that he cannot have a child Medea,
being the trickster she is, offers him a deal. The deal being, if he gives her
protection when she flees the land in return, she will make him able to bear kids.
This pressures Aegeus and makes him take the deal because he thinks that he

Dictionary 80). In physics, conservation of energy cannot be made and it cannot be
ruined (Roller Coaster Marbles: Converting Potential Energy to Kinetic Energy).
Conservation of energy stays the same, the value doesn t change. Some types of
energy include kinetic, potential, gravitational potential, and heat. They can change
into different systems, but the value won t change as long as it has conservation of
energy. Conservation of energy itself and conservation of mechanical energy are two
types of energy. Conservation of mechanical energy is easier to understand and
calculate, but it only happens when everything is conserved (What is Conservation of
The Major Effects Of The Second Industrial Revolution
The second industrial revolution was the change of our world even though many
people moved from rural homes into cities because they can t get accepted in jobs
and it started in the 1870 1944 after the civil war because during this time, many
advances in technology and factories made it easier and quicker for farmers and
manufactures to produce more goods and products to be sold.
There was also one major effect that caused the second industrial revolution which
was immigration and this had many benefits such as the beginning of new ideas,
innovations, and inventions because many people were coming from different
civilization around the world with creativity to America. During the working
conditions of the second industrial revolution there ... Show more content on

As the growth of industrial development increased so did the accumulation of
massive industries and corporations . This had changed The United States of America
into being urbanized instead of being a rural area. Then many businessmen like
Andrew Carnegie, John D Rockefeller, and Cornelius Vanderbilt had big industrial
tycoons which had a massive benefit for them and for their society because they
had an increase in mass production which ultimately changed the face of the
United States of America from being a rural society into being an urban society.
Family relations started to weaken during the second revolution in America and
New England because with new employment opportunities for women, men and
children in New England and America, families had the ability to become free or
separate from each other, move away, or have an employment in which their gender
or age might not have otherwise allowed today. In short, the Industrial Revolution in
early America created a standard of hard work, individuality, and in some cases, an
equal amount of importance dedicated to career and family. All in all, the second
industrial revolution was essentially a positive thing because many benefits came out
of it such as new ideas, innovations, and inventions. Every new thing they had
discovered led to a newer discovery. This is why we have all of the advances in
technology, machinery, and
Stop Up Toilet Research Paper
The primary thing ought to do when confronting a stopped up toilet is making
inquiries. Do you have any young children? Would they be able to have tossed a
little toy down the toilet? Is this a typical stop up? Has anybody dropped anything
into the toilet and attempted to flush it down as opposed to hauling it out? It is
best for you to answer me now, at that point for me to squander a large portion of a
day and afterward discover what I ought to do. After all, reality saves them cash.
Apparently, you are doing this without anyone s help, so you don t need to pose
these inquiries, yet ask those in your family if require be.
In the wake of finding the solutions, I will either utilize a plunger or a toilet auger, at
times called a snake. Standard stop up I dive, everything else I wood screw.
Unclogging To Unclog a Toilet
I lean toward a chime formed or accordion style plunger. These will give you

Run with the more costly one, recall it will pay for itself the first occasion when you
utilize it.
Haul out the auger s handle; this brings the snake part into the pole to have the
capacity to manage the head into the toilet opening. Drive the leader of the snake to
the extent you can, on the off chance that you don t go insufficiently far you will
scratch your toilet bowl. Presently turn the handle clockwise and push down in the
meantime. When hauling out the snake, I simply lift the handle part up to the extent
that I can. On the off chance that the snake stall out you may need to give it a turn
while hauling out. Regularly, however, it is best to attempt and haul the auger out
without turning. In some cases, if there is for each or a toothbrush in the toilet the
snake will take hold of

Part 2 of the Town Visit is scheduled for Sunday Oct.30 2005. This additional Town
visit was scheduled based on feedback received by the Councilor Candidates on the
first Town Visit on Oct. 23. The second Town Visit will be performed by Councilor
Mitchell and Mayor Huot. It will further impart the importance of a vote for our Team
on Nov.6.
Unplanned Activities Identified
An unexpected offer to distribute our platform message via the Lake Association
email list has been evaluated. The Lake Association has offered this service to all of
the Candidates (both slates). Its reasoning was to allow a more immediate
distribution of information to the Lake s residents. We have decided that additional
contact with the Citizens could have a negative impact. Receiving a mail out package
and follow up phone call should satisfy most voters. An email might just elicit a stop
bugging me attitude.

Should University Education Be Free
Crystal 41609153
Should university education be free for all students?
Free education refers to education that is funded through taxation or charitable
organizations rather than tuition funding . This essay will focus on China s
educational policy. In China, there are nearly 200 million people living under the
poverty line , and education is a tough problem for those people struggling to
survive. This essay will present the background of China s education and examine
some of the advantages of free university education, such as improving social
mobility, solving potential social problems and contributing to the economic
development of China.жЇ”иѕѓе’ЊгЂ‚гЂ‚гЂ‚ The present situation of education and
these advantages suggest that we are in urgent need of adjusting our education policy

With the significant disparity between the rich and the poor, many students
especially those who are from rural area can t go to university due to their family
conditions , thus they may become a farmer or join the cheap labor force in order to
survive. Many talents are about to lose the opportunity to change their situations for
lack of further education. As a result, it s hard to change the current social mobility.
If the government develops a policy to make the university education free of charge,
people who cannot afford education fees can get university education. Since better
education are connected with better opportunities , these people will get better jobs,
which may take them to a higher social class and improve their social status, then
social mobility will be promoted greatly. Above contents prove that university
education fees are strongly related to social mobility, so it s necessary to make
university education free of

Similarities Between Anne Bradstreet And Society
Correlations Between Anne Bradstreet s Poems and Society Today
The name Anne Bradstreet may not be as infamous to some ears as the name Virginia
Woolf or Mary Shelley, but her influence on the inclusion of women in a
predominantly male society prevails nonetheless and reigns just as prominent as
other women of her time. Anne Bradstreet was a devoted wife and mother, who was
also bound by the impediments of being a Puritan woman. In fact, she summited
herself to her husband and demonstrates her perpetual affection toward her children
in her poem In Reference to Her Children . In her work The Prologue , Bradstreet
does not request complete gender equality, but suggests women obtain
acknowledgment for their work. Members of her community ... Show more content

In the Christian Bible, it is deemed inappropriate to engage in intercourse before
marriage. Like Bradstreet, there are deterrents that withhold people in today s society
from engaging in activities that they desire. However, despite her position in
American society, Bradstreet s brother in law, John Woodbridge
, arranged for a
collection of her poems called The Tenth Muse to be published in London, and
Bradstreet became America s first published poet (Gilbert 145). Such an achievement
is well deserved by someone as intellectual and fervent as Bradstreet.
Her poem In Reference to Her Children embodies a more emotional tone than The
Prologue . Bradstreet personifies birds to metaphorically represent all eight of her
children and elaborates on her role as a mother when her children start their own
lives as adult. In fact, the poem is an exceptional depiction of motherhood for her
children all embarked on separate paths, and Bradstreet expresses her undying
love and worry regarding her children, which are feelings most mothers endure
when their children depart. In regards to her children facing the dangers of the
world, she writes, Whilst pecking corn and void of care, they fall un wares in fowler
s snare, or whilst on trees they sit and sing, some untoward boy at them do fling, or
whilst allured with bell and glass, the net be spread, and caught, alas, or lest by lime
twigs they be foiled, or by some greedy hawks be spoiled
The Physics Of The Solar System
Formally, classified natural satellites or moons include 176 planetary satellites
orbiting six of the eight planets. Of the inner planets, Mercury and Venus have no
natural satellites; Earth has one large natural satellite, known as the Moon; and
Mars has two tiny natural satellites, Phobos and Deimos. The large gas giant planets
have extensive systems of natural satellites, including half a dozen comparable in
size to Earth s Moon. The objects in the solar system are classified foremost by their
dynamics and motion, while size and composition are important for secondary
classification. The solar system itself is, defined by the orbits of its constituent
bodies. Classification by motion is more useful for astronomers. In fact, the dynamics
of the solar system were a central issue for early astronomers such as Ptolemy in the
second century and Nicholaus Copernicus in the 16th century. In what follows, we
introduce different classifications of the planetary moons.
1.2.Classification of motion of natural satellites
1.2.1Classification based on the orbits
The natural satellites may be, classified into three categories according to their orbits
(Newburn and Gulkis, 1973; Burns, 1986) as follows.
Category 1: Regular satellites
The regular satellites move prograde in nearly circular orbits in the equatorial plane
of the mother planet. This sector of satellites represents the four Galilian satellites of
Jupiter, the eight classical satellites of Saturn (from Mimas to Iapetus),

important game so far because both team were tied for first so whoever won this
game was the champion of the league . As the sky got darker and the crowd couldn

I was so exited that I wanted to celebrate but I didn t because we weren t winning
yet. As a result I took the ball out of the goal and took it to the middle of the field
to continue with the game. There was 5 minutes left before the referee blew his
whistle to indicate the end of the game. My team knew that we had a Great chance
of winning because in soccer it is often said that when a team scores a goal, the
team that received it will give a 5 minute window to score another goal. This
motivated us more. However, we knew that we had to defend well enough because
we could also lose the game. Time began to move fast. It wasn t until the minute
89th that the game changed. At that moment I had the possession of the ball. I
moved through the field still with the possession of the ball. I saw that my
teammate began to sprint towards goal so I gave him a threw ball. He then shot the
ball but the defender blocked his shot. The ball was going towards me so I had it. I
was 10 yards away from the goal but I didn t know what to do with the ball. I heard a
lot of people telling me all sorts of things but at the end I chose to have a shot
Anime Essay
Anime Anime is the Japanese take on the word animation . It represents the Japanese
style of animating cartoons. However, not all anime is for children. Majority
imported to America is aimed at an adult audience containing deep storylines, graphic
violence, gore, as well as nudity and adult situations. This cinematic genre is a fast
growing trendin the west and can now possibly be considered the most popular
phenomenon among children, considering the success of the much in demand anime
series PokГ©mon . Anime art is known for it s characters big round eyes, abnormal
shaped hair, and it s unique exaggeration of physical reality. Since anime is basically

Usually it s a helpless, victimized, female character that ends up falling madly in
love with the hero. Kagero, a female ninja, best fits the description of this character.
Because she is a ninja, she s not as helpless as some might imagine the damsel in
distress character to be, but she is constantly victimized (helplessly raped twice by
two different enemy demons) and is saved a countless number of times by
Jubei. Sure enough, in the end, she falls in love with Jubei, the only man to ever steal
her heart.
The third main character type is the enemy . The head antagonist, usually male, is a
hideous monster in horror anime, and in action anime almost always possesses
supernatural powers. He seems much more invincible and usually batters in the
climax, but he always has a weakness for the hero to capitalize on. He is impure,
immoral, unethical and, in short, evil. His heart has no remorse for his actions and
for those suffering from them. The enemy, like the hero, is unknown to us and is
gradually introduced throughout the story. The enemy of this story is Himuro
Gemma. Gemma is a bisexual, immortal human with the ability to reincarnate
himself. In his early days, he caused Jubei and his friends to turn on each other,
forcing Jubei to kill them. He poisons an entire village, and with the help of his
henchmen, plans to take over an already dark army of ninjas.
Nora s Child-like Nature in A Doll s House Essay
From the title alone, Henrik Ibsen s, A Doll s House, carries an adolescent
connotation, with dolls holding immediate association with young girls and youth. In
this controversial playwright, Ibsen portrays his Danish protagonist as an ignorant
juvenile. Set in Copenhagen, Denmark, during the 1880 s, Nora s childlike character
suggests what the lifestyle of many women during that time may have been. Ibsen
reveals Nora s innate, childlike nature incorporating strategic set placement and
direction, significant symbols, an array of revealing dialogue, and elaborate
description, healthy in detail. Ibsen creates a setting that traps Nora in domestic
comfort. The play opens with a description of the setting, detailing it as A room

Making use of the word little again revealing how he views his wife; my is also a
frequent word in Torvald s vocabulary. Torvald s possessive nature prompts him to
call Nora his no matter what pet name he uses. The pattern of these possessive,
diminutive pet names such as my little featherbrain (3) reflect Torvald s belief that
Nora is another child of his, so much so that he actually refers to Nora specifically
as a child on more than one occasion. Telling Nora that she talks like a child (3) and
suggesting that the child shall have her way (2) further displays his feelings
toward Nora. Just as an adult does not discuss their business with an adolescent, so
does Torvald not have important conversations with Nora. Nora even notifies
Torvald that during the last scene was the first (they) have had a serious
conversation (3). Torvald even groups Nora with his other children demanding that
lesson time shall begin . . . both (hers) and the children s (3). Torvald believes that
he both owns and fathers Nora, vocalizing that if a man made her (his wife), he has
given her a new life, and she has in a way become both wife and child to him (3).
Going on, Torvald questions Nora, asking her, Why shouldn t I look at my dearest
treasure, at all of the beauty that is mine, my very own? (3). Financially stifling
Nora and placing her in positions where he can act as her savior, or father, boosts
Torvald s self esteem
Christian Crusader Mistakes
Throughout history, society has always had different beliefs regarding the origin
of life and the existence of its creator. (Atheism 13). God has been viewed as a
paternal figure and the missing link in some people s lives (argyle 9). On the other
hand, there are individuals that do not believe in anything and live their lives day by
day. As the world ages, claims stating that religionhas had a negative impact on
humanity has become a subject of discussion. These claims are mostly supported by
the mistakes of the Christian crusaders in early Europe history. Realistically, religion
has not brought war and violence, the Crusaders could not accept others views and
became driven by greed, which ultimately influenced them to abandon... Show more

Before the first crusade, Christians persecuted Jews because they were short of
cash and knew the Jews had money (jews and crusaders 14). They concluded that it
would make more sense to fight pagans in Europe rather than the Middle East. If the
crusaders were driven by religion, distance and money would not have been factored
into their decision making process. For example, distance should not hinder a true
believer from doing what is considered righteous nor does money have any
correlation to God. During the siege of Antioch, Bohemond would not let the other
crusade leaders in unless he could keep the city (principality 37). Bohemond s
actions are considered selfish and show that his motives are not to help his fellow
Christians, but to take advantage of property opportunities. In 1100, the third wave
of crusaders left Europe to achieve the status of medieval legend. They were
inspired by myths regarding other crusader successes. When they should have been
stimulated by being able to serve their Lord and Savior. Religion is not the source of
greed, but merely a tool that is victimized by people that refuse to hold individuals
accountable for their

  • 2. Hero Makes A Hero Heroes are the certain type of people that would give up their own life, just to protect you and the people around them when things go wrong. A quote from Robert De Niro he says Time goes on so whatever you re going to do, do it. Do it right now. I think a hero would use this quote in a tough situation like if he were trying to save someone he would do it now because time goes on. A herorepresents the people, a hero makes many sacrifices that a everyday person couldn t think of doing. A hero is always trying to do the right even when things don t always go their way, or the way they need it to go, overall, hero stays strong. Heroes make sacrifices to protect those around them. A quote from Doctor Says this at lincoln s funeral Though our beloved president is slain our beloved country is saved Over the grief of president lincoln being assassinated, he believes that lincoln is an almighty hero for re uniting the union, defeating the south, and free all the slaves in the South. Lincoln is recognized for all his accomplishments, and his overall heroism. Lincoln made so many sacrifices and I think he is the hero of the north and liberator of the slaves. Another quote from Donald Trump is Sometimes by losing a battle you find a new way to win the war. This quote represents a hero in so many ways because sometimes a hero cannot have always go their way. But if the hero learns from his mistakes like what trump is saying when he says the battle is lost learn from your

In his desperation, Sargeant goes to the church to refuge, but there is no one at the Church to help him get refuge. Although Sargent is living in a time where the depression is in existence amongst all people, Black and White, he finds no one to help him. Sargent goes to the Church because the Church helps people. However, because Sargeant is Black and the Church is populated by a White congregation, he is rejected. In the story One the Road , one of the people: A big black unemployed Negro holding onto our church... The idea ! This represents that Sargent wants the benefits of the white... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the Church denied that Christ died, was buried and risen, the white congregation was denying that Sargeant was a free man with rights. Hughes illustrates the reasons people do no like the Church today. Rev. Dorset, white or black, should have had compassion for Sargent. It is disappointing to see Rev. Dorset turned away Sargent, especially during the depression. A follower is a reflection of his/her leader and that is why everyone ignored and refused to help Sargeant. A Church has always been the place where anyone can be accepted. Christ says: They have kept me nailed on the cross for nearly two thousand years(619). This line symbolizes the stumbbling blocks that a congregation can cause to an individual. Although the congregational members have the power, their power was not enough to keep the Church together. As long as racism exists in a society, the oppressor and the oppressed will be bound and never free. When the church fell down, symbolically, it was Sargeant who fell. And when the Sargent got up and started walking, Christ was walking beside him. At this moment Sargent finds comfort, approval and company with Christ. Imagine roaming around a neighborhood with no one to talk to, no family, and no friends, and because of Christ s presence he is no loner anxious about when and where he is going to eat. Although this part of the story was based on a dream or

One that was barely seen when wanderers passed the green and brown of the trees, and the underwood, the grass and the leaves. The tears of a bygone night moistened their cheeks and they d ignore the mourning. Footsteps sunk deep into the velvet ground covered by moss. I never understood why they would do such a thing, hiding a face of a beloved beneath a cover. Then, the hunter grabbed me tight and put me into a wooden cage. He tapped his finger against it and smiled at me. Surely, he did not mean me harm, but he harmed me anyway. I cannot flap my wings, I can no longer fly, no longer can I graze the air with my coat. People enter a profession without background all the time and succeed because they practice the leadership quality of self reliance. They take personal responsibility for developing the necessary skills and knowledge to be a successful leader. Leaders are aware that when you exercise initiative and self reliance, you live a life with a vision, purpose and goal direction. Just taking charge can be what leadership is all about a self starter. Consider the following suggestions for developing initiative and self reliance: 1) Start a written goals program dealing with developing the courage and will to expand your initiative and self reliance no matter what others think, say or do. Keep it simple, review it daily, track your progress, and test for results. 2) Write a plan of action about something you want to lead and spend at least 10 minutes every day on that plan of action and do it for every area of your life. If you do nothing more than just read it every day. That s an affirmation. It s spaced repetition. It s getting it from your conscious into your subconscious. 3) Take the action steps that you plan in your plan of action. Great plans and fantastic goals are worthless unless they exist in actions rather than just on the paper. They must be translated with initiative into daily activity. All the plans of
  • 8. Why The Paradox Between Practitioners Of The Different... 1. Introduction It is well known that economics is the study of how individuals and groups make decisions with limited resources so as to best satiate their needs and wants. Similar to many disciplines, economics relies on well established assumptions; among others include: individuals base their choices on stable, well defined preferences. In addition, many economic models are built on the assumption that individuals are solely motivated by self interest. Indeed, the relatively miniscule consideration for fairness in standard economic theory sticks out like a sore thumb when one studies between economics and the other social science disciplines. The question remains, why the paradox between practitioners of the different disciplines? A potential hypothesis is that economists themselves are poles apart in the sense that economists behave differently in situations involving social cooperation. If proven right, a natural follow up question is whether this distinction is nature or nurture. This paper tests the differences between economists and non economists by using two quite famous economic games: the Ultimatum Game and also the Dictator Games. Having participants play both games is the key innovation of this study s design, allowing yours truly to separate altruism and equity from strategy. 2. Literature Review In the process of reviewing prior research on these matter, we discovered a study by Marwell and Ames (1981) who found that economists ... more prone to
  • 9. Optimism And Pessimism In The Great Gatsby I believe that the three texts that I have studied contained moments of optimism and pessimism which in turn have shaped my opinion of the general vision and viewpoint. This alludes to the feelings and emotions portrayed through the omniscient camera in The King s Speech , the morally inclined narrator Nick Caraway in The Great Gatsbyand the protagonist in the novel Foster . I was very intrigued to find out more about these societies and the vision the author/director hoped to convey. The Great Gatsby opens in the boom years in the summer of 1922, commonly known as the Jazz Age . The opening is conveyed as a mix of optimism and pessimism. (speaks) Took three years for my parents to notice. As you can imagine, it caused some stomach problems. This left me feeling much more sympathetic towards Bertie and further implemented my pessimistic opinion of the portrayal of children in the past. This is also seen in T.G.G as Pammy, Daisy s daughter is only seen once during the entire 1920 s novel and we realise that she, like Bertie, had nannies who took care off her rather than her parents. A sense of negativity is also conveyed towards children here as Gatsby ,when first introduced to Pammy, was described as looking at the child with surprise. I don t think he had ever believed in its existence. she is described as an it and Gatsby then realises that he can t repeat the past with Daisy and that his obsessive longing for her was a waste of time. I believe that this pessimistic feeling was a factor in his volatility towards Tom in the Plaza. Similarly in Foster , Mildred like a predator, pounced on the innocent protagonist and questioned her about the Kinsella s personal affairs such as where does the old dog sleep, Is she allowed to spend.... . Mildred then inconsiderately informed the little girl of the Kinsella s boy s passing, stating sure didn t he follow that auld hound of theirs into the slurry tank and drown...... • 14. A Strategic Planning And Management System Essay Introduction Organizations and industries today have undergone rapid and accelerating change, creating uncertainty and complexity in the business environment. Markets are increasingly competitive and pressured to do things faster, better and cheaper. They are challenged to develop new organizational characteristics such as expertise and innovation in order to quickly respond to changes in technology and customer preferences. Organizations can no longer rely on traditional analytical approach to understand their industry. Nowadays, intangible assets are just as important as physical assets and the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is an innovative approach that considers the financial and non financial perspectives in determining the performance level of an organization. Question 1 The BSC is a strategic planning and management system designed to translate an organization s mission and vision into a comprehensive set of objectives, performance measures and implementations in order to achieve business goals. The BSC retains financial metrics as a measure for company success, but supplements these metrics from three additional perspectives customer, internal process, and learning and growth (Kaplan and Norton 1992, 1993). Financial data are analyzed to understand financial performance of the organization. Customer feedback is used to gather customer satisfaction on the products or services. Internal business processes are evaluated by assessing quality, productivity and innovation.

Every time we invited a family to camp with us, they all responded while sitting around the camp fire, with the same statement. There are no bears in Yosemite ! Some how in their own minds they seemed to think their statement would keep them away. Or they wanted reassurance from us there weren t any. We have had several encounters with them in our camp, but the Rangers have mostly contained them. Trouble is, what Yosemite are you talking about? Yosemite Valleywhere most of the camping is, or Yosemite National Park. In this particular situation, the wife was very skeptical of bears being there. Our families hiked up to the top of Nevada Falls and there we sat down to picnic, near this beautiful Falls. We broke out our box lunches, opened our soda s. A few minutes into enjoying our food, I looked up about ten feet behind the group and above the rest of the party. Here comes a Mother black bear over the rise with her baby cub. Seeing this instant trouble, I told every one to drop their food and back away. The Mother herself looked only to be not more than five or six years old. And to quote my girls the cub was adorable. According to Geert Hofstede s Cultural Dimensions, every country can be measured in terms of high individualism / collectivism, power distance, uncertainty avoidance, masculinity/ femininity or short / long term orientation. Fuller narrates a scenario regarding a central issue that is plaguing the administration of a recently overturned democratic state, previously ruled by an unethical regime after a bout of economic disparity. At that point, ambiguous cases can be looked at individually and tried under law, even though the results are expected to be imperfect. Therefore, we should readily prosecute grudgers whose cases are discernible and in obvious accordance with the transgressions of Purple Shirtism by way of current democratic procedure, and later address equivocal suits on a case by case basis. Dialectic Although there is good reason to believe that at least some of the grudge informers should be prosecuted, not everyone agrees. Deputy 2 maintains that the grudge informers should in fact not be prosecuted. He argues for this position by asserting that the very essence of law was scarce in the face of a terrifying, anarchic regime, which functioned by instilling a war of all against all conducted behind barred doors, in dark alleyways, in palace intrigues, and prisonyard conspiracies (Fuller 3), a single phase of which were the acts of the grudge informers. He feels that it is not possible to judge their acts as either lawful or unlawful on the grounds that the Purple Shirts were not a lawful government, ergo the grudge informers did not live under a regime of law at all. Since the first human study in 2006, BA is commonly found in most popular pre workout supplements on the market today (Trexler, et al., 2015). BA is a naturally occurring amino acid produced in the liver. BA is also contained in animal proteins such as turkey and beef, and therefore can be increased somewhat through the consumption of animal protein. Significant increases, however, require various means of supplementation. Beta alanine has been cited as a rate limiting precursor to carnosine synthesis (Harris, et al., 2006). Additional roles of carnosine beyond Ca2+ regulation and pH buffer include its ability to act as a scavenger of free radicals and singlet oxygen, both of which are not only damaging, but also limit performance (Kohen, et al.,1988). Regarding BA supplementation and administration, there has been some opposing views on which means of supplementation is most beneficial. Some research suggests that BA is most effective when front loaded. Consuming 4 to 6g per day, preferably with meals has demonstrated the maximum desired effect, with more significant benefits seen after four weeks (Harris, et al., 2009; Stegen, et al., 2013). Some clinicians, however, maintain that oral administration is minimally effective. A 2016 study by Sharpe, Macias demonstrated a definite improvement in performance in short duration, high intensity exercise by athletes using a topical gel to administer carnosine transdermally. The study does maintain that more testing does need to be done, however, brings up scientific reasons why oral ingestion may be less efficient due to GI damage to the supplement. The purpose of this literature review is to provide insight into the effects of beta alanine in performance. The research demonstrates that BA ingestion is, in fact, beneficial to athletic performance, with a significant portion of data showing it is more efficient in shorter duration, moderate to high intensity activities lasting 60 to 240 seconds specifically.

Marie Gullemine Benoist Essay Adoring one of the walls upstairs in the San Diego Museum of Art in the Balboa Park is a neoclassical masterpiece crafted by French born artist Marie Guillemine Benoist. This Oil painting, done on canvas, shows encased in a wreathed and rustic bronze frame woven in fertile vines bearing fruit. With the respectful dimensions of 100.33 cm (39.5 in.) length and 81.6 cm (32.13 in.) width, and hanging slightly above eye level it is easy to behold the bold and obvious detailing of the beautiful young women it portrays. However as visually stunning as this paintingmay be, the real beauty can be found in the history, controversy, and significance this work conceals in secret. Marie Gullemine Benoist also known as Marie Guillemine de Laville Leroux was born in Paris France in 1768 where she later died in 1826. Being brought into the world at the height of the neoclassical art movement it is no wonder this is where she drew her artistic inspiration. The heavy influence of this style can be seen quite a bit through the detailing Benoist included in her works of art. She is prominently known for the romantic dresses, realistic contoured body detailing, and portrayal of beauty rather than the reality which strictly corresponds with this style influenced by the classical art and culture of ancient Rome and Greece. ... These examples happen in everyday life. An example of truth, stated by James P. T. Fatt, an expert at the art of persuasion, says Finally, the concept of scarcity can be used to make the potential buyer feel that he or she must act quickly to participate in a bargain or to make the buyer feel that he or she is somehow special in respect to the product or service offered. Opportunities seem more valuable to us when their availability is limited (Fatt). By taking advantage of this type of deception, the person having the barter applied to makes he or she feel obligated to respond that moment. They will feel if they don t take advantage of this barter that there will be no other in the world and that they must act then. This is a great example of how Medea uses her craftiness against Aegeus in making him offer his land for her protection. In Medea, Medea offers Aegeus an offer of a lifetime, she says, You may not realize what a find you ve found in me: for I shall end your barrenness, and I shall make you potent to seed progeny (Med.1.716 717). When Aegeus says that he cannot have a child Medea, being the trickster she is, offers him a deal.
