It was by many dire battles and the multitudinous amount of troops available to Spain alongside financial and advanced weapon aid that the Spaniards were
eventually able to conquer this territory. San Salvador is one of the first cities established by the Spaniards, they moved rapidly to colonize and change the
language of those under their rule. From many different tribal tongues to the Spanish that is now part of home life for the majority of all Central American
countries.
The freedom of El Salvador and all of Central America from Spanish rule came on September 15, 1821. El Salvador also led Central America in the
movement to liberate itself from Mexican Spanish rule by evading taxation and resisting development efforts that would destroy the way of life and cultures
of those native Salvadorians, all concluding in an uprising by the Salvadoran people well until the collapse of the Mexican empire.
A big part of Salvadoran life is the beliefs placed upon by our elders. The countries most followed religion is that of the Roman Catholic Church, with a
following of around fifty six percent of all Salvadorans; however twenty one percent of people identify as Protestants. This leaves three percent of the
population converting to other religions. Religion is so heavily followed by the

Languages, grammars and automata theory are all related to computer applications. Grammar is the rule for language structure regardless of the meaning.
For computer programming languages context free grammar (CFG) is commonly used. Formal language as opposed to natural language must be used with
computer applications because natural language is too vague for computer applications. Automata is a way to test an expression to determine if it is part of
the language (Pfeifer, 2005).
A deterministic finite automata (DFA) is a machine that is the most simple to understand which will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Family Unit in Human Sociological Terms
Overview The Family Unit In human sociological terms, the family is described as a group of people that have affinity traditionally, organized through
husband, wife, and children and/or extended relatives. This unit, called the nuclear family, was a historical organization that served economic and cultural
needs, educated children in societal behaviors, and offered stability. In the modern age, however, families of all kinds exist. There may be one two, three or
more parents involved in the child s overall plan; those parents may be traditional, grandparents or care givers, same sex couples, or multiple divorces, etc.
We live in a diverse world, not just in the United States, but globally. Preparing children for a leadership role in this world also requires that we take into
account individual micro and macro differences, celebrate those differences, and view the family as assisting in any way possible the positive relationship of
the community, the schools, and other resources to help those children actualize (Hareven, 1991; Berman, 2010).
Carl Whitaker and Theory Carl Whitaker was one of the founding generation of family therapists. He died in 1995, but his ideas, theories, and methods
surrounding family therapy were seminal in changing the focus from the individual to the family unit as a whole in therapy. His ideas were first presented in
a 1978 book, co written with Augustus Napier, called The Family Crucible. In this book, Whitaker noted that overuse of theory can

Maslow s Hierarchy Of Needs
Throughout life, one s personality is a very important aspect of that individual s wellbeing. Such characteristics are not only used by others in attempts to
understand their peers, but also determine one s own satisfaction and view of themselves. People are always attempting to change who they are for the
better, in efforts to live a more satisfying and self fulfilling life through achieving higher personal needs. With that said, when studying the psychological
basis behind one s development and change in personality, one specific theory and stance seems to explain this phenomenon of bettering one s self; that of
Maslow s hierarchy of needs. This stance, embedded in the humanistic perspective, suggests that individuals are motivated to self actualize, but such a task
can only be accomplished if basic human needs are obtained beforehand (Funder, 2013). With that said, there are specific requirements presented within the
hierarchy which one needs to obtain in order to ultimately improve their well being. These five needs include an individual s physiological, safety, love,
esteem, and self actualization needs (McLeod, 2007). Considering the movie Groundhog Day, a character by the name of Phil Connors continues to relive
the same day endlessly, regardless of what he does. As a result Connors goes through an extreme personality change which can be best described through
the standpoint of Maslow s hierarchy of needs. Phil Connor s Personality Described Phil Connors is an

A Good Man Brings Good Things Out Of The Good
We have all had experiences where getting back up is difficult. In cases such as these, we need a helping hand. Being able to help others through love is an
important message. God sends people to show us love and those for which we show love in return. In Luke chapter 6, Jesus talks with those gathered about
God s love for everyone. It is written in verse 45 that a good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart

When I was in seventh grade, I joined my first traveling basketball team. And my first travel experience was to California. I was eager to be an official AAU
basketball player, with the official team shoes, socks and travel suits. The team flew down to California s LAX for a weekend tournament outside the city.
On the first day we won both our games, on the second we made it to the semifinals. On that day, there was a break in the games to let the consolation
games play out, before those who moved on to the next round would begin. The gym was sweltering, no air conditioning and an abundance of people. It felt
like we were sitting in a sauna, with the sweat still on us from the last game. My team decided to head out to the van we had rented, the best way to both
evade the sun and the stuffy gym.
We piled into the van and started to talk and joke around. At some point during our restless time between games, the girl who was sitting behind me chose

Igor Stravinsky Conductors
In Igor Stravinsky s standpoint of a conductor, he describes a conductor being a field . . . more for the making of careers and exploitation of personalities . . .
than a profession for the application of exact and standardized disciplines. It is conclude that the great conductor . . . substitutes looking for listening . . .
[that] the important part of the performance becomes a gesture.
The essay begins with a comparison of conducting and politics. Politics is given a bad connotation; as it is seen as a corrupt dealing. Stravinsky states, The
success of a conductor can be an incomplete musician . He wants people to understand that conductors have no talent but are anglers , men scheming for
fame. For example, conductors can enchant the society women and critics on which is career dependents upon. Conductors have let the importance of their

repetition of a and p in power politics and arbitrary authority to stylize his writing. It also emphasises politics and authority which are two of the parties that

Speech On Emotional Support Animals
The National Service Animal Registry defines an emotional support animal as, a person s pet that has been prescribed by a person s licensed therapist,
psychologist, or psychiatrist, they state that The animal is part of the treatment program for this person and is designed to bring comfort and minimize the
negative symptoms of the person s emotional/psychological disability, (All About). Emotional support animals have a huge list of responsibilities they can
take on and learn to help their owner. These animals require minimal training and their jobs are specifically tailored to what their owner needs to maintain
their mental health. Still these animals have less rights than service animals. Still, they have laws protecting them and their owners. My brother and I each
have our own emotional support animals that provide us with their multiple skills that help keep us mentally safe.
Emotional support animals can take on a multitude of jobs that may include reminding the handler to take medicine, providing safety checks or room
searches, or turning on lights for persons with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, interrupting self mutilation by persons with dissociative identity disorders,
and keeping disoriented individuals from danger, (Brennan). These animals are often considered pets but are actually so much more than that, emotional
support animals have a very important role in protecting the mental health of their owners and keep them safe. Not only do these animals protect people s
mental health but they also give people a purpose. Taking care of one of these dogs or other animals gives people something to take care of and focus on.
Knowing that there is another living thing that relies on them can be very grounding and keep people connected to something outside of themselves.
Emotional support animals have way less rights than service animals. Emotional support animals are still often considered just pets making them not
allowed in most public places with their owner, despite their importance. This is not to say that they are given no rights, there are still laws protecting them
and ensuring that people can keep access to their emotional support animals. One of the main rights given to people with these

Bella Katz Humanities 10 Mrs. Beer and Mr. Wagner October 26, 2017 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire INTRO PARAGRAPH Thesis = Even though the
Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire was a horrible event and killed a lot of people, it helped the United States improve their factory working conditions and
helped strengthen the woman s work unions. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory was owned by Max Blanck and Isaac Harris. This factory produced
shirtwaists, which are high necked cotton blouses that working woman wore in 1911.These shirts resembled men s shirts. The factory was located on the
corner of Greene Street and Washington Place, Manhattan in the Asch building. There were ten floors in the Asch building but the factory was only on the
8th, 9th, and 10th floors. All of the workers who worked at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory were very young and were not treated well. They were all around
15 years old and were mostly Italian and Jewish immigrants. Their work was 7 days a week and 12 hours a day. For all of this work and time, they were
only paid about 6 15 dollars a week which is not a lot of money. Lunch was their only break during the 12 hour day and it was for just a half an hour.
However, during the factories busy season, their work was basically non stop and even more demanding. Also, in some cases, they were required to bring
their own supplies including needles, thread, irons and sometimes even their own sewing machines. Surprisingly, around 500 people worked there every
day. Not only were the workers not treated well, the building was also very unsanitary and unsafe. They worked on top of each other in cramped spaces
where there were just lines and lines of sewing machines. The exit doors were locked in order to stop the workers from leaving to go to the bathroom. Only
the foreman had the keys to unlock the doors. There were four elevators that had access to the factory floors but only one of them were in working condition.
In order to get to the working elevator, the workers had to go down a long narrow hallway. This elevator was only able to hold 12 people at a time. Factory
floors had no sprinkler system and the entire building only had one fire escape that was not big enough for all of the people in

Descriptive Essay About The Great Gatsby
It was late Wednesday afternoon, and I was coming home from my shift earlier than planned, due to the unpleasant weather. As I was walking under heavy
rain, with a little umbrella that barely covered anything, I imagined the moment when I arrive home. Ideas of warm bath, drinking chamomile tea, while
hiding under a blanket made me walk more briskly. Suddenly, I heard loud honks of a car pulling up to a small, humble house, that hid silently among the
bushes. Obviously, I couldn t help stopping, as i was quite curious. I don t know this area very well, and I took this path just as a shortcut to my house.
Nevertheless, I ve been told that the enormous mansion nearby belongs to the infamous Gatsby, but his neighbor was a mystery to me.
The car that stopped in the backyard of the inexpensive looking house was extremely posh, and I knew straight away that someone from the upper class,
probably East Egg has arrived. The appearance of the car and the presence of the driver in it, signified of the high status of the guest. I was startled by the
event, mostly because I have never met a person from West Egg that had a good relationship with the East Egg. As far as I know, they don t keep touch with
each other as their views differ.

A biblical guide to resolving personal conflict , this, in a nutshell is what The Peace Maker is all about. In this critical book review I will be taking topics
from the book and giving the reader my personal views on how I either reacted or related to the topics covered. My goal for this paper is to give the reader a

To try and persuade someone to believe in religion, if they are not willing listen, is a sure fire way to start a conflict, which is why I feel this book
contradicts itself in some ways. An example of this is where Sande wrote in chapter 7on page 145:
The apostle Paul could be similarly indirect. Instead of hitting the Athenians head on with their idolatry, he first engaged them on a point of common
interest and moved gradually into the good news of the one true God.
To me this states that the apostle Paul was trying to convert the Athenians to Christianity because they believed in a different God, which is in direct contrast
with a point made on page 154:
While it is true that we have no right to force out personal opinions on others, we do have a responsibility to encourage fellow believers to be faithful to
God s truths, which are presented in Scripture.
To understand my point of view on this book you should understand that I am not a religious person and I am at a point in my life where I am trying to find
my own spirituality whether it is Christianity or some other form of religion. While reading this book I found myself making notes on how I disagree with
certain topics but I didn t realize until I was about half way through that there were many good points made. Some of the good points I did notice can be
found in every chapter

Cultural Impact Of The Silk Road
The Silk Road Routes was a route that was established in order to increase trade of silk, paper, and other goods across China, India, and Central East Asia.
Many merchants, missionaries, and travellers have used this road for traveling and trading from one end to another. Whilst the trade and travel, there was a
multicultural transmission between China and India. As there was the trade with goods, there were transferrals of philosophies, beliefs, art, and culture
through the Silk Road. Buddhism, which is a major religion that originated from India, became a big impact on those who crossed paths with Buddhist
monks or those who practiced Buddhism from India. China was particularly impacted by this cultural transmission. Buddhism had influenced and even
replaced major belief systems that already existed in China, through this, it even helped promote new forms of social and political thought, ideologies and
even harmony among the belief systems in China. Although the establishment of the Silk Road routes was known for trade among China, India and Central
Asia, it also became an aid for opening multicultural transmission of philosophy and beliefs between India and China, particularly the introduction and
growth of Buddhism in China.
The Silk Road played a vital role in aiding the interaction between India and China and multicultural transmissions, however, its purposes were primarily
used to increase trade. Ferdinand Freiherr von Richthofen created the term Silk Road in 1877

Part 1: The process of Canonization is the process that a person must go through to become a saint. This began around the tenth century. Pope John Paul II
changed the process in 1983. Here is the process. The first requirement is that the person must be dead for at least five years. They must be a very holy
person and a servant of God. Then the person s local church members must start a petition to request that this person should become a saint. The Bishop will
look into this person s life and decide whether or not to pass this person on to the next step to the Pope. If he does a couple of theologians will look more
deeply into this person s life and evaluate the person. People who are martyrs will automatically become a saint because they should amazing faith and

step is to have at least two miracles credited to his or her name. If they only have one miracle they will be named blessed, just like Blessed Edmund Rice.

Islam and the Idea of Submission
Islam as a whole revolves around the concept of submission and Muslims generally regard it as being the religion that teaches submission. The Muslim
world has a complex understanding of the idea of submission and it is focused on influencing individuals to devote themselves body and soul to God.
Muslims believe that people need to acknowledge God s role throughout history and that they have to submit to His power, as this is apparently the key to
being a good Muslim. One does not simply need to express passivity in the face of God, as the respective person needs to understand that he or she submits
to a higher power by expressing belief.
Abraham is considered to be the first person who submitted to God and individuals are generally inclined to believe that a Muslim needs to act in
accordance with the prophet s laws in order to be identified as a true believer. While most people tend to consider the conventional concept of a believer
when taking into account the idea of submission, to serve Islam means more than being a simple believer, as a believer cannot actually be a believer unless
he has made a total submission (islam; taslim) in the truths in which he has come to believe (Turner 16). A person claiming to be a Muslim thus needs to act
in accordance with Muslim legislations in order to perform complete submission.
Submission is strongly connected with the pillars of Islam and it is believed to play an essential role in maintaining these respective pillars. A person

but be sure to have the fan on high and maybe open a window or two. The smoke will burn your eyes and throat so be careful with that. Catfish don t seem

A River Runs Through Us 1. The Anacostia River is a metaphor for the way poor people and minorities are treated (Hoover). In 1994, the Anacostia River
was fourth on the list of American Rivers Most Endangered Rivers (Rynor). Since the late 19 th century the water quality in this river has slowly declined

swim or fish in the river because of its extreme pollution and health risks. Recently, there have been signs posted along the river which warn residents of the
hazardous waters. However, for many years the pollution of the Anacostia River was Washington s dirty little secret (Cohn, Warnings ) and there were no
signs warning people of the pollution.
5. The fact that the Anacostia River is Washington s dirty little secret reflects the attitude of the rest of the city towards Anacostia. A great majority of the
District prefers to ignore the underlying problems faced by Anacostia; this ignorance is reflected in the condition of the river running through its demolished
communities. This area east of the river is unanimously known as one of the poorest and most dangerous areas of the city. The fact that city is able to keep
Anacostia hidden from the rest of

Age Of Exploration Pros
There are many aspects of history that are considered to be controversial. The Age of Exploration was considered to be a positive achievement because of
the discovery of the new world known as America. Although people believed this, there were a lot of things going on in the background that were very
negative. The age of exploration should be considered a crime against humanity because of the deadly diseases, ruthless conquistadors, and the endless
slavery. The Europeans who traveled from Europe to the Americas carried many diseases with them that affected the Native Americans drastically. Some of
the diseases that were brought by the Europeans were influenza, smallpox, and measles. The article known as The Cultural Implications of European
Disease on New World Populations states, These foreign pathogens were active[ly] winnowing the people more quickly even than a sword could, and

Hernando Cortes, a Spanish conquistadors was one of the many conquistadors that were considered to be full of greed and an ambition for gold. Hernando
Cortes could have used this time to gain allies, but he used it to kill others for gold and glory. The worst part was that the Aztecs and their leader
Montezuma could have killed them with ease, but they tried to make friends. The article from ABC Clio states, A quick and decisive action by Montezuma
would have crushed the Spanish force of 400 men. He delayed, however, supposedly due to a belief that Cortés and the Spaniards... fulfilled omens

History. From Slavery Until Now, Ghana Is Considered One
History
From slavery until now, Ghana is considered one of the farthest growing country in the continent of Africa because of several reasons. Ghana enters the
historical data by the end of the 8th century, through the narrative of Muslims traders traced to the desert by the profitable exchange for gold by its leaders.
Nevertheless, after the six centuries the exchange attracted the Portuguese sailors down to the coastline of Guinea. In addition, this led to the Trans Saharan
trading and the Islamic politics, reinforcing the activity of the building of the Sudanic Empire, with the increase to that of Ghana descendants, and those
cities that came along the way of the port from the desert peripheral. According to Parker Rathbone, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Martin O Meara, Nkrumah later became a fascinating symbol, inspiring his character as the Father of African Nationalism every time he was
incarcerated (p. 163). Nevertheless, after been overthrown by the armed forces in 1966, the country faced economic and political insecurity. However, with
the appearance of Jerry Rawlings, and general support from those around him, Rawlings personally dealt with the problems of Ghana, putting things in the
right order. Which lead to Ghana becoming one of Africa success stories in 1999, when it came to economic restructuring and improvement.
Some of the different cultures or regions in Ghana
Like many African countries, Ghana has many different cultures. They are not only rich, but are different from one tribal group to another.
Ashanti (Asante) region
The region or empire founded by King Osei Tutu I between 1695 1717 became one of the most powerful empire in Ghana. As people that were united, they
originated with a focus on the Oyoko tribe throughout Asantemanso. Although the empire was faced with many years of suppressions as a result of the
Akwamu and Denkyira tribes, they ultimately develop as one of the remarkable empire in Ghana after conquering the Denkyira King, Ntim Gyakari in1998
(battle of Feyiase). Primarily located in the central belt of Ghana, the Ashanti region are a governmental region.

Osteoporosis And Incidence Of Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis in aging women is an important topic. Of the estimated 10 million Americans with osteoporosis, about eight million or 80% are women
(www.nof.org). This statistic show that osteoporosis is common and is a major public health issue. This devastating disease is prevalent among middle aged
and older women. Research indicates that it is estimated that 200 million women have osteoporosis (Lane, 2006).This statistic is indication that all women
should be concerned about this disease and how it can affect them as they age. After the age of 50 years the prevalence of osteoporosis and incidence of
osteoporosis fractures rise substantially with age (Chua, Nandi, Masud, 2011, p. 279) According to the American Academy of Orthopedic ... Show more

As the human species age, the bones in the body go through a process called remodeling. Remodeling, is when the bone cells dissolve (osteoclasts) and new
bone cells grow back (osteoblasts). (www.oseofound.org). However, when osteoporosis has occurred the amount of bone loss increases faster than the
growth of new bone. This results in the bones becoming porous, brittle and prone to fracture.
There are two types of risk factors that increases the likelihood of developing osteoporosis. The first type is fixed risks and the second type is modifiable
risks. Some of the fixed risk factors are age, female gender and body size, family history, ethnicity, and Menopause/hysterectomy. A few modifiable risk
factors are poor nutrition, vitamin D deficiency, insufficient exercise, low dietary calcium intake. Age is one leading factors in the development of this
disease because bones become thinner as the body ages. Approximately one in two women over the age of 50 will break a bone because of osteoporosis
(www.nof.org.). The female gender is another risk factor for developing this disease. Women are more likely to develop this because women tend to have
smaller and thinner bones than men (Lane, 2006).
Family history is a risk factor because if someone in the family has osteoporosis or fractures a bone, this increases the likelihood that a member of that
family will develop the disease. Women with a maternal history of hip

Fallacies In The Logical Structure Of The Argument
What is logic? What is a fallacy? Well both, logic and fallacy almost mean the same thing or even relate to one another. According to quora.com, a fallacy is
a pattern of reasoning that is always wrong. This is due to a flaw in the logical structure of the argument which renders the argument invalid. However, there
are many fallacies out there but the three main ones. First, there is appeal to authority, Second, there is begging the question. Third, there is attacking the
person. It is important for a student to understand fallacies as well as logic and how they relate to each other.
To begin with, the first main fallacy is when the writer is appealing to authority. According to www.logicallyfallacious.com, the definition of appealing to
authority is when Using an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to www.logicallyfallacious.com, the definition of attacking the person is when Attacking the person making the argument, rather than the
argument itself, when the attack on the person is completely irrelevant to the argument the person is making. In other words, it is when the person talking is
being attacked personally is attacked by thing that do not relate to the subject that he or she are talking about. However, the first example of attacking the
person is Jane says that drug use is morally wrong, but she is just a goody two shoes Christian, so we don t have to listen to her. . Another example is, That
claim cannot be true. Dave believes it, and we know how morally repulsive he is. However, there are also a few examples from the story called Love is a
Fallacy which are relating to the fallacy attacking the person The first example from the story is when Dobie says Petey, are you in love with Polly Espy and
Petey says I think she s a keen kid . The second example from the story is when Petey says What s Polly to me, or me to Polly ? To conclude, these are all

Rags To Riches Stories By Horatio Alger

some stories that prove othervise. Men. If you work hard is it possible to control social position? My answer is yes, but there shound be terms ans sacrifices.
Excluding slavery, bad physical health, adding opportunities one could take that chance. However from my own perspective men have more opportunities to

The expected result from this experiment, was that the plates containing plasmid DNA, GFP, and IPTG would grow and exhibit a florescent glow. All the
plates containing plasmid DNA would grow and those that contained no plasmid would not grow. The plasmid DNA is able to be absorbed only if the
bacteria is competent, which is a result of the heat shock (Bacteria Transformation and Selection, 2017). The head shock opens the pores of the membrane
allowing the passage of plasma. Super coiled plasma is easier to be absorbed into the bacteria versus linear plasma (Bacteria Transformation and Selection,
2017). These expected results were correct for the plates containing the plasmid DNA. The results deviated for the plates that contained no ampicillin and
no DNA plasmid. These ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was seen in both trial A and B, where the plates exhibited no growth (Table 1, Table 2). The lack of plasmid in the presence of the ampicillin, makes
the growth of bacteria impossible because the ampicillin destroyed the E. coli cells by breaking down their cell walls (How do Antibiotics..., 2006). The
bacteria had no added substance which would make them resistant to the ampicillin (Edvotek, 2014). Since no growth occurred on either plate, the
transformation efficiency was unable to be evaluated (Table 1, table 2). This plate was used as a control to show that without ampicillin bacteria would not
be able to grow without plasmid DNA. This plate can be used to specifically compare against the plate that contained ampicillin and plasmid DNA. By
comparing these two plates, one can see the growth that was able to occur in the plates that contained the plasmid DNA versus the plate that contained no
plasmid DNA. In trial A, these two plates cannot be compared because both plates lacked growth (Table 1). In trial B they can be compared because the
plate containing the plasmid DNA was able to grow (Table

Analysis Of The Movie Star Wars Script
Paper #4
What concept has fueled numerous wars and conflicts throughout history, and even in present day? It is the oversimplification of the perception of good and
bad which has sparked these battles, as well as worked to handicap young people s ability to come to a true understanding of world events. Gardner writes
about this concept when he says, most five year olds have developed a Star Wars script. Life consists of a struggle between Good and Bad forces, with the
Good generally triumphant (627). Through their entertainment children construct an internalized script which can mislead them to think the concept of good
and bad is much less complex than in reality. I believe that this is still true, and that the Star Wars script is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Toward the end of the fable, Harry learns that Voldemort is trying to steal the Sorcerer s Stone which can be used grant immortality. Harry determines that
he must find the stone first. This leads to a final struggle between Harry Potter and Voldemort, while he inhabits the body of one of the professors at the
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry Potter, representing the good side , ends up winning the battle, saving the professor, and stopping
Voldemort from his evil plans. The storyline used is a perfect example of the Star Wars script that Gardner was referring to. Harry Potter represents the good
side in this plot, while Voldemort represents the bad. Children who grow up observing the aforementioned plot can then construct a misguided perception of
what defines good and evil . Children internalize these types of scripts and use them to interpret major historical or present day events. Gardner explains that
Most historical events or works of literature, however, prove far more complex; to understand the causes of World War I or the U.S. Civil War, or to grasp
the thrust of a novel by Hawthorne or Austen, one must weigh and integrate multiple factors and nuances (627). By using the Star Wars script children fail
to grasp the complexities of the events that have, or are, taking place. It can lead to them using an erroneous way of thinking by believing that historical
wars are this grand battle of good and bad. The

The Salem Witchcraft Trials In The Crucible By Authur Miller

The Crucible is a play written by Authur Miller that is based on the Salem Witch Trials but is partially made up. The Trials were a series of events that
happened from the spite of jealousy, interior motives, fear, and religion. Two hundred people were accused of witchcraft and twenty were hanged for it. And
although there are many superstitions about what and why the events occurred, any are yet to be confirmed. But we know for sure that they did not happen
for good reasons. Twenty people died from the manipulation and threatening of a seventeen year old girl, Abigail Williams. She committed adultery with

Why I Want To Go To America Essay
When I was told that you were giving me one million dollars to donate to three charities of my choice, I was honored and surprised. Lately, in America you
only see greed. If someone had one million dollars, they would keep it for themselves. You helped me see that there could still be kindness in America. This
was very smart of you to realize that America needs help. Usually people only see the good parts in America, but you saw the bad, and want to help. If you
look at the underside of America, there is child labor, poverty, unsafe food factories, and women s suffrage. Not everyone in America is making it. Average
earnings for American workers are less than $500 a year (BGE). We have gotten some help from muckrakers when they exposed the situation. However, we
now need to come together and help get the underside of America fixed. It was pretty tough to choose which organizations to donate to, but after careful
consideration, I feel that I have made the three choices that will help America the most. I have decided that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jane Addams statement really inspired me especially when she stated, Women would fulfill their traditional responsibilities for their own children (DOC C).
A woman should have the right to do what men can do; they are no different than men, so they should be treated the same. A woman s simplest duty is to
keep her house clean and wholesome and to feed her children properly, while living in a tenement house (DOC C). If a woman can take care of her children
and she can cook and clean, then she should have the right to be active in her American citizen community. Women should be treated the same as men so it
is unfair for them to be treated any differently. Women help to get their children ready for the future, so why can t they be active in their future? After all, the
children are our future and it is highly important to invest our time, money, love and attention to

A Metaphorical View Into Kindred
A Metaphorical View into Kindred In Kindred by Octavia Butler, Dana is subject to many different wounds all over her body; the more involved Dana
becomes in the story the more damaging the wounds are to her everyday function. These wounds, their severity, and their position represent certain
emotional and mental scars in Dana made by her travels into the 1800 s.The most severe of these wounds and the bait of the novel, since it is the opening
chapter and I am awaiting for this scene throughout the book, is the losing of her left arm. Losing such a vital part of one s body can be devastating and for
some this can be an unsurpassable obstacle, but for Dana is a reminder of her travels, her new found knowledge, and her ... Show more content on

Dana feels that it was a mistake on his part and that It was the breaking of an unspoken agreement... (239). Self inflicted wounds for Dana at the beginning
of the novel might have been an improbability but as the story progresses it become an almost certainty, this is one reason why this wound was so
significant for Dana, the only thing the reader does not know is when she will make the leap. This wound is larger to Dana mentally than physically because
it first shows how far she was able to go in order to stop the pain and to end all her problems. Second, because the wounds won t hurt her after they heal and
they are big enough to be intrusive with her day to day life, yet they are significantly out in the open to serve as reminders of her changes. The scars that
will come from the slits will surely remind Dana of how horrible the past can be and how it far it can push a person no matter how strong their character is.
Furthermore, it shows Dana that no matter how bad your past can be it was necessary for someone to be the way they are or in her case the reason that she
exists. Finally, we are brought back to that scene in the hospital that the novel opened with, the reader sees that when Dana is thrown back into the 1900 s
after killing the very person she was sent to protect, she appears with her arm inside, and

Paragraph On William The Conqueror
William the Conqueror
William was young at this time in his life, but that didn t mean he would back down from a fight. William was already the ruler of Normandy and this, the
battle of hastings would give him his second country to rule. Although he would become ruler of England he still didn t go there much he lived in
Normandy, and was a very respectable and experienced ruler, under his reign the church flourished.
William the conqueror in the battle of hastings. September 27 is when things started going William s way, the wind shifted and started moving them right
into England. Directly after reaching shore William decided to make his move and as stated in the document William I. William rallied the fleeing
horsemen, however, and they turned and slaughtered the foot soldiers chasing them. On two subsequent occasions, William s horsemen feigned retreat,
which fooled Harold s soldiers, who were then killed by their opponents. Harold s brothers were also killed early in the battle. Toward nightfall the king
himself fell, struck in the eye by an arrow according to Norman accounts, and the English gave up. (par.1) this quote shows that William knew what he was
doing and did the right thing and also that he wasn t scared. William was about to become a ruler of another country.
William was already good and experienced at ruling so thus should be no problem for him. William was already the ruler of Normandy and was doing a
great job so being ruler of England wouldn t be a

A ravishing land full of beaches and wildlife, but also a place ravaged by corruption and gang populations that feel that they are leaders of the urban areas. This country has been torn by the result of war games played among its own brothers. The beautiful nation of El Salvador that has been the place of birth for my parents, grandparents and ancestors. San Salvador is the nation s capital and possibly most prominent area of my land. The smallest of all Central American countries yet the most densely populated. It was by many dire battles and the multitudinous amount of troops available to Spain alongside financial and advanced weapon aid that the Spaniards were eventually able to conquer this territory. San Salvador is one of the first cities established by the Spaniards, they moved rapidly to colonize and change the language of those under their rule. From many different tribal tongues to the Spanish that is now part of home life for the majority of all Central American countries. The freedom of El Salvador and all of Central America from Spanish rule came on September 15, 1821. El Salvador also led Central America in the movement to liberate itself from Mexican Spanish rule by evading taxation and resisting development efforts that would destroy the way of life and cultures of those native Salvadorians, all concluding in an uprising by the Salvadoran people well until the collapse of the Mexican empire. A big part of Salvadoran life is the beliefs placed upon by our elders. The countries most followed religion is that of the Roman Catholic Church, with a following of around fifty six percent of all Salvadorans; however twenty one percent of people identify as Protestants. This leaves three percent of the population converting to other religions. Religion is so heavily followed by the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Languages, Grammars and Automata Theory Languages, Grammars, and Automata Theory Discrete Mathematics Linda Chalk Colorado Technical University Professor Timothy Manzke December 17, 2010 Languages, grammars and automata theory are all related to computer applications. Grammar is the rule for language structure regardless of the meaning. For computer programming languages context free grammar (CFG) is commonly used. Formal language as opposed to natural language must be used with computer applications because natural language is too vague for computer applications. Automata is a way to test an expression to determine if it is part of the language (Pfeifer, 2005). • 5. Family Unit in Human Sociological Terms Overview The Family Unit In human sociological terms, the family is described as a group of people that have affinity traditionally, organized through husband, wife, and children and/or extended relatives. This unit, called the nuclear family, was a historical organization that served economic and cultural needs, educated children in societal behaviors, and offered stability. In the modern age, however, families of all kinds exist. There may be one two, three or more parents involved in the child s overall plan; those parents may be traditional, grandparents or care givers, same sex couples, or multiple divorces, etc. We live in a diverse world, not just in the United States, but globally. Preparing children for a leadership role in this world also requires that we take into account individual micro and macro differences, celebrate those differences, and view the family as assisting in any way possible the positive relationship of the community, the schools, and other resources to help those children actualize (Hareven, 1991; Berman, 2010). Carl Whitaker and Theory Carl Whitaker was one of the founding generation of family therapists. He died in 1995, but his ideas, theories, and methods surrounding family therapy were seminal in changing the focus from the individual to the family unit as a whole in therapy. His ideas were first presented in a 1978 book, co written with Augustus Napier, called The Family Crucible. In this book, Whitaker noted that overuse of theory can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Maslow s Hierarchy Of Needs Throughout life, one s personality is a very important aspect of that individual s wellbeing. Such characteristics are not only used by others in attempts to understand their peers, but also determine one s own satisfaction and view of themselves. People are always attempting to change who they are for the better, in efforts to live a more satisfying and self fulfilling life through achieving higher personal needs. With that said, when studying the psychological basis behind one s development and change in personality, one specific theory and stance seems to explain this phenomenon of bettering one s self; that of Maslow s hierarchy of needs. This stance, embedded in the humanistic perspective, suggests that individuals are motivated to self actualize, but such a task can only be accomplished if basic human needs are obtained beforehand (Funder, 2013). With that said, there are specific requirements presented within the hierarchy which one needs to obtain in order to ultimately improve their well being. These five needs include an individual s physiological, safety, love, esteem, and self actualization needs (McLeod, 2007). Considering the movie Groundhog Day, a character by the name of Phil Connors continues to relive the same day endlessly, regardless of what he does. As a result Connors goes through an extreme personality change which can be best described through the standpoint of Maslow s hierarchy of needs. Phil Connor s Personality Described Phil Connors is an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Being able to help others through love is an important message. God sends people to show us love and those for which we show love in return. In Luke chapter 6, Jesus talks with those gathered about God s love for everyone. It is written in verse 45 that a good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart please write this down... a good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart (x3) When I was in seventh grade, I joined my first traveling basketball team. And my first travel experience was to California. I was eager to be an official AAU basketball player, with the official team shoes, socks and travel suits. The team flew down to California s LAX for a weekend tournament outside the city. On the first day we won both our games, on the second we made it to the semifinals. On that day, there was a break in the games to let the consolation games play out, before those who moved on to the next round would begin. The gym was sweltering, no air conditioning and an abundance of people. It felt like we were sitting in a sauna, with the sweat still on us from the last game. My team decided to head out to the van we had rented, the best way to both evade the sun and the stuffy gym. We piled into the van and started to talk and joke around. At some point during our restless time between games, the girl who was sitting behind me chose ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Speech On Emotional Support Animals The National Service Animal Registry defines an emotional support animal as, a person s pet that has been prescribed by a person s licensed therapist, psychologist, or psychiatrist, they state that The animal is part of the treatment program for this person and is designed to bring comfort and minimize the negative symptoms of the person s emotional/psychological disability, (All About). Emotional support animals have a huge list of responsibilities they can take on and learn to help their owner. These animals require minimal training and their jobs are specifically tailored to what their owner needs to maintain their mental health. Still these animals have less rights than service animals. Still, they have laws protecting them and their owners. My brother and I each have our own emotional support animals that provide us with their multiple skills that help keep us mentally safe. Emotional support animals can take on a multitude of jobs that may include reminding the handler to take medicine, providing safety checks or room searches, or turning on lights for persons with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, interrupting self mutilation by persons with dissociative identity disorders, and keeping disoriented individuals from danger, (Brennan). These animals are often considered pets but are actually so much more than that, emotional support animals have a very important role in protecting the mental health of their owners and keep them safe. Not only do these animals protect people s mental health but they also give people a purpose. Taking care of one of these dogs or other animals gives people something to take care of and focus on. Knowing that there is another living thing that relies on them can be very grounding and keep people connected to something outside of themselves. Emotional support animals have way less rights than service animals. Emotional support animals are still often considered just pets making them not allowed in most public places with their owner, despite their importance. This is not to say that they are given no rights, there are still laws protecting them and ensuring that people can keep access to their emotional support animals. • 11. Thesis Outline Of The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire Bella Katz Humanities 10 Mrs. Beer and Mr. Wagner October 26, 2017 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire INTRO PARAGRAPH Thesis = Even though the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire was a horrible event and killed a lot of people, it helped the United States improve their factory working conditions and helped strengthen the woman s work unions. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory was owned by Max Blanck and Isaac Harris. This factory produced shirtwaists, which are high necked cotton blouses that working woman wore in 1911.These shirts resembled men s shirts. The factory was located on the corner of Greene Street and Washington Place, Manhattan in the Asch building. There were ten floors in the Asch building but the factory was only on the 8th, 9th, and 10th floors. All of the workers who worked at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory were very young and were not treated well. They were all around 15 years old and were mostly Italian and Jewish immigrants. Their work was 7 days a week and 12 hours a day. For all of this work and time, they were only paid about 6 15 dollars a week which is not a lot of money. Lunch was their only break during the 12 hour day and it was for just a half an hour. However, during the factories busy season, their work was basically non stop and even more demanding. Also, in some cases, they were required to bring their own supplies including needles, thread, irons and sometimes even their own sewing machines. Surprisingly, around 500 people worked there every day. Not only were the workers not treated well, the building was also very unsanitary and unsafe. They worked on top of each other in cramped spaces where there were just lines and lines of sewing machines. • 12. Descriptive Essay About The Great Gatsby It was late Wednesday afternoon, and I was coming home from my shift earlier than planned, due to the unpleasant weather. As I was walking under heavy rain, with a little umbrella that barely covered anything, I imagined the moment when I arrive home. Ideas of warm bath, drinking chamomile tea, while hiding under a blanket made me walk more briskly. Suddenly, I heard loud honks of a car pulling up to a small, humble house, that hid silently among the bushes. The car that stopped in the backyard of the inexpensive looking house was extremely posh, and I knew straight away that someone from the upper class, probably East Egg has arrived. The appearance of the car and the presence of the driver in it, signified of the high status of the guest. I was startled by the event, mostly because I have never met a person from West Egg that had a good relationship with the East Egg. My goal for this paper is to give the reader a non biased opinion of The Peace Maker , which was published by Baker Books in June of 2004. To try and persuade someone to believe in religion, if they are not willing listen, is a sure fire way to start a conflict, which is why I feel this book contradicts itself in some ways. An example of this is where Sande wrote in chapter 7on page 145: The apostle Paul could be similarly indirect. Instead of hitting the Athenians head on with their idolatry, he first engaged them on a point of common interest and moved gradually into the good news of the one true God. To me this states that the apostle Paul was trying to convert the Athenians to Christianity because they believed in a different God, which is in direct contrast with a point made on page 154: While it is true that we have no right to force out personal opinions on others, we do have a responsibility to encourage fellow believers to be faithful to God s truths, which are presented in Scripture. To understand my point of view on this book you should understand that I am not a religious person and I am at a point in my life where I am trying to find my own spirituality whether it is Christianity or some other form of religion. • 14. Cultural Impact Of The Silk Road The Silk Road Routes was a route that was established in order to increase trade of silk, paper, and other goods across China, India, and Central East Asia. Many merchants, missionaries, and travellers have used this road for traveling and trading from one end to another. Whilst the trade and travel, there was a multicultural transmission between China and India. As there was the trade with goods, there were transferrals of philosophies, beliefs, art, and culture through the Silk Road. Buddhism, which is a major religion that originated from India, became a big impact on those who crossed paths with Buddhist monks or those who practiced Buddhism from India. China was particularly impacted by this cultural transmission. Buddhism had influenced and even replaced major belief systems that already existed in China, through this, it even helped promote new forms of social and political thought, ideologies and even harmony among the belief systems in China. Although the establishment of the Silk Road routes was known for trade among China, India and Central Asia, it also became an aid for opening multicultural transmission of philosophy and beliefs between India and China, particularly the introduction and growth of Buddhism in China. The Silk Road played a vital role in aiding the interaction between India and China and multicultural transmissions, however, its purposes were primarily used to increase trade. This began around the tenth century. Pope John Paul II changed the process in 1983. Here is the process. The first requirement is that the person must be dead for at least five years. They must be a very holy person and a servant of God. Then the person s local church members must start a petition to request that this person should become a saint. The Bishop will look into this person s life and decide whether or not to pass this person on to the next step to the Pope. If he does a couple of theologians will look more deeply into this person s life and evaluate the person. People who are martyrs will automatically become a saint because they should amazing faith and holiness. Many of the first saints were martyrs because they were persecuting Christians in the time of Jesus and a long time after the ascension. • 16. Islam and the Idea of Submission Islam as a whole revolves around the concept of submission and Muslims generally regard it as being the religion that teaches submission. The Muslim world has a complex understanding of the idea of submission and it is focused on influencing individuals to devote themselves body and soul to God. Muslims believe that people need to acknowledge God s role throughout history and that they have to submit to His power, as this is apparently the key to being a good Muslim. One does not simply need to express passivity in the face of God, as the respective person needs to understand that he or she submits to a higher power by expressing belief. Abraham is considered to be the first person who submitted to God and individuals are generally inclined to believe that a Muslim needs to act in accordance with the prophet s laws in order to be identified as a true believer. While most people tend to consider the conventional concept of a believer when taking into account the idea of submission, to serve Islam means more than being a simple believer, as a believer cannot actually be a believer unless he has made a total submission (islam; taslim) in the truths in which he has come to believe (Turner 16). A person claiming to be a Muslim thus needs to act in accordance with Muslim legislations in order to perform complete submission. Submission is strongly connected with the pillars of Islam and it is believed to play an essential role in maintaining these respective pillars. A person ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
