The 'NQAVET' kick-off meeting was held on November 14-15, 2013 in Malta. Representatives from Malta, Italy, Turkey, the Netherlands, and Denmark discussed plans for the upcoming two years to spread the ideas and results of Leonardo projects to regional and national authorities. The goal of the 'NQAVET' project is to increase transparency in European vocational education and training by developing national quality guidelines based on the EQAVET framework.

‘NQAVET’ KICK-OFF MEETING WAS HELD ON THE 14TH – 15TH OF NOVEMBER 2013 IN MALTA
‘NQAVET’ first transnational meeting was held on the 14th – 15th of November 2013 in Malta . The
meeting pointed out the launch of the project and set up the forthcoming activities plan.
The project is dedicated to finding ways of spreading the energy and ideas from Leonardo projects
and VET providers directly to regional and national authorities and again back from them to all VET
providers. At the meeting the partnership discussed cooperation agenda for the upcoming two years.
The first day started with an opening from the project
coordinator, Folkuniversitetet,followed by a presentation about
the project concept and objectives. Then the partners from
Malta, Italy, Turkey, Netherlands and Denmark held speeches
about themselves. The rest of the day was dedicated to the
detailed analysis of activities in the work packages. On 15th of November the partnership discussed
mostly administrative and financial matters.
“Reluctantly it's quite seldom that VET-related Leonardo and Grundtvig projects find their way to a
national level in order to be disseminated and used by a wide range of providers in the countries of
project partners. The projects are difficult mainstream because of lack of inclusion of national
authorities and thereby the needed legitimacy. Our project will pilot and test ways to disseminate
and implement the tool, instruments and ideas developed in many Leonardo and Grundtvig projects
in a broader regional and national scale”, - says Ali Rashidi, the director of Department for
International Cooperation of Folkuniversitetet.
‘Pathway from EQAVET to NQAVET’ (NQAVET)is a Leonardo da Vinci network project, launched on
the 1st of December 2013. The goal of the project is to increase transparency in European VET by
enhancing development of National Quality Guidelines/recommendations and approaches for VET
(NQAVET) for provider level based on EQAVET.
