Collaborative Recommender System for Music using Pytorch. Combine Matrix Factorization and Neural Networks for improved performance. Python sample code included.
Recommendation systems, also known as recommendation engines, are a type of information system whose purpose is to suggest, or recommend items or actions to users.
The recommendations may consist of:
-> retail items (movies, books, etc.) or
-> actions, such as following other users in a social network.
It can be said that, Recommendation engines are nothing but an automated form of a “shop counter guy”. You ask him for a product. Not only he shows that product, but also the related ones which you could buy. They are well trained in cross selling and up selling. So, does our recommendation engines.
What really are recommendations engines nowadays?
This presentation introduces the foundations of recommendation algorithms, and covers common approaches as well as some of the most advanced techniques. Although more focused on efficiency than theoretical properties, basics of matrix algebra and optimization-based machine learning are used through the presentation.

Abstract:
In this talk, we will survey how Deep Learning methods can be applied to personalization and recommendations. We will cover why standard Deep Learning approaches don't perform better than typical collaborative filtering techniques. Then we will survey we will go over recently published research at the intersection of Deep Learning and recommender systems, looking at how they integrate new types of data, explore new models, or change the recommendation problem statement. We will also highlight some of the ways that neural networks are used at Netflix and how we can use GPUs to train recommender systems. Finally, we will highlight promising new directions in this space.
Knowledge Graphs and AI to Hyper-Personalise the Fashion Retail Experience at...Connected Data World
What is the key to the holistic success of the fastest growing and most successful companies of our time globally? Well, often the key is the rapid increase in collected and analysed data. Graph databases provide a way to organise semantically by classes, not tables, are web-aware, and are superior for handling deep, complex relationships than traditional relational or NoSQL data stores.
It is these deep, complex relationships that can provide the rich context for hyper-personalising your product offering, inspiring consumers to purchase. In this talk, we describe how we are using artificial intelligence at Farfetch to not only help build a knowledge graph but also to evolve our insights with state-of-the-art graph-based AI.

DIAGNOSES - Why so many of our efforts fail to deliver value
RECOMMENDATIONS - How to address these struggles with best practices
Presented by Mac Steele
Director of Product at Domino Data Lab
In this presentation at DAMA New York, Joe started by asking a key question: why are we doing this? Why analyze and share all these massive amounts of data? Basically, it comes down to the belief that in any organization, in any situation, if we can get the data and make it correct and timely, insights from it will become instantly actionable for companies to function more nimbly and successfully. Enabling the use of data can be a world-changing, world-improving activity and this session presents the steps necessary to get you there. Joe explained the concept of the "data lake" and also emphasizes the role of a strong data governance strategy that incorporates seven components needed for a successful program.

Simo Ahava, Co-founder, Simmer
Server-side tagging introduces something of a paradigm shift to setting up marketing data collection for an organization. Instead of burdening the client device with the responsibility for sending data to third-party endpoints, the data streams are instead proxied through a server-side endpoint that your organization owns. This has huge implications on things like data governance, quality, privacy, security, and enrichment. Unlike traditional “server-side tracking”, where data is collected and processed server-to-server, server-side tagging lets you essentially turn a server environment into a tag management solution.
In this talk, Simo Ahava will walk you through this new paradigm, introducing concepts that some of you might remember from pre-Google-Analytics days of web analytics. But server-side tagging is just so much more. Just like tag management for web browsers broke pre-established notions of what it is to deploy marketing pixels on a site, server-side tagging is here to disrupt the outdated approach of stuffing the site full of third-party resource loads and hoping that the users won’t notice.
