Kevin Roche was an Irish-American architect known for his creative use of glass. He received his architecture degree from National University of Ireland and gained experience in Dublin and London before moving to the US in 1948. Roche joined Eero Saarinen's firm in 1950 and became his principal design associate, assisting him until Saarinen's death in 1961 and completing several of his major projects. In 1966, Roche and John Dinkeloo established their own firm, designing several notable projects including the Oakland Museum of California and the Convention Centre Dublin. Roche is recognized for his attention to detail and pushing architectural technology through contextual designs.
