Some years ago, Eric Ries, Steve Blank and others initiated The Lean Startup movement. The Lean Startup is a movement, an inspiration, a set of principles and practices that any entrepreneur initiating a startup would be well advised to follow.
Projecting myself into it, I think that if I had read Ries' book before, or even better Blank's book, I would maybe own my own company today, around AirXCell or another product, instead of being disgusted and honestly not considering it for the near future.
In addition to giving a pretty important set of principles when it comes to creating and running a startup, The Lean Startup also implies an extended set of Engineering practices, especially software engineering practices.

Esse tipo de ação, sem um objetivo definido, tende a desperdiçar recursos. Para evitar erros de conceito como esses, é preciso fomentar a absorção dos valores da inovação à cultura corporativa.

In its first 25 years there have been many definitions of 'Lean,' typically centered around cost reduction or tool/technical in nature. But the idea of "Humans striving to better flow value to a customer" is a mindset that should perhaps underlie all of them, and may be a better place to start our thinking.
In this brief talk, we explore the content that needs to be included in a 10 minute startup pitch to earn a follow on meeting with investors. We talk about how to capture the imagination of the audience in the first 60 seconds, the art of using imagery versus text, and discuss other best practices.

Kickstart your Product Backlog with Innovation GamesFrederic Vandaele
How to start your Scrum project? How to initialize your product backlog? You are not alone, in most agile projects, managing the product backlog remains a complex and difficult activity.
Scrum said that it's the Product Owner that manage the product backlog but it does not tell us how (It's a framework you know). However, the product owners are people from the business. They have little or no experience with Agile and what it means in term of contribution to the project.
How to involve a group of users in the creation of product backlog without that they feel cheated or ignored? How to prioritize dozens or even hundreds of user stories of varying sizes with a group of users representing different needs with conflicting interests?
The Innovation Games are techniques that can address these issues. The art is to combine these methods with a view to a common vision to emerge as an initial product backlog that will help the Scrum team to start the project on a solid foundation.

Is “TLS” – the integration or combination of TOC with Lean and Six Sigma – a good idea? What does it mean exactly? How do they reinforce each other? What are the incompatibilities? Is it an opportunity or a threat for the TOC movement? Industrial improvement efforts over the past 20 years have been handicapped by quarrels concerning the relative merits of the different approaches and of the supposed incompatibilities or fundamental differences among them. TLS considers, on the contrary, that we should seek to combine them thereby creating a system that contains the best aspects of each movement.
The speaker, Philip Marris, is the CEO of Marris Consulting, Paris, France. He has implemented TOC with Lean and/or Six Sigma in industry over 50 times in the past 25 years.
