Job Description for Professional Learning Coordinator v.3
Position Title Professional Learning Coordinator
Unit/ Committee/Centre/Deanship Academic Affairs, ELC, DAS, Taibah University
Reports to Head of Academic Affairs
Duties & Responsibilities
 teach ELC courses up to 8 hours per week as assigned;
 conduct weekly meetings or as and when required, with community members;
 research, develop and promote stimulating approaches to teaching and learning that enable
students to engage fully in learning and achieve whatever their learning style;
 challenge practices of teaching and learning that do not promote good practice and optimum
student attainment;
 lead and facilitate in-service training in respect of teaching and learning;
 coach and mentor teaching staff as necessary;
 contribute to the development of strategies that will improve the quality of teaching and
learning;
 provide appropriate levels of support and challenge for community members;
 encourage peer observations amongst community members;
 assist in the observations of teachers, as and when required;
 log all activity amongst community members, including meetings, peer observations,
workshops, etc.;
 prepare reports for the Head of Academic Affairs;
 adhere to the overall ELC and Taibah University regulations.
