My Philosophy on Education
• It takes a collaborative effort between teacher
and student to achieve satisfactory
performance
• Take responsibility for your own actions
including successes and failures
• Every student is capable of learning on a
competent level
• It takes a valuable effort to learn
Attendance Policy
• All students are come to school everyday to
partake in an engaged and energy-filled
learning environment
• Your “mind” has to be present along with your
body
• Absentees should be a goal not to thrive in
Dress Code
• Students are to wear clothes that are in
accordance with the school’s policy
• The dress code will be strictly enforced so that
the learning environment is distraction-free
for all students as well as the teacher
Guidelines
• Be respectful of teachers, peers, and the
overall learning environment
• Be prepared and ready to put forth your very
best effort daily
• Raise hand to be recognized before speaking
• Keep your desk and work materials organized
• Enter the classroom with a positive mind
frame for learning
Grading Scale
• Grades will be based on effort as well as
academic performance
• Grades will be an indicator of achievement
level with assignments, projects, and other
learning activities
• Grades will be distributed fairly in accordance
with school and district guidelines
Homework
• Homework will be an extension of classwork
and is to be completed at home
• Homework will be graded and returned to
students within 3 days with teacher’s
notes/suggestions on it
• Late homework assignments will not be
accepted at any point
Make-up Assignments
• Only excused absentees with proper
documentation will be accepted for students
to complete missed assignments
• Written & signed letter(s) from
parents/caregivers, doctor’s excuses, or any
other content deemed credible by the teacher
and school’s attendance office will be
accepted only
Why are We at School?
• To learn valuable content that will be meaningful in life
• To obtain various skills such as being educated, working
in groups, being sociable with peers, and displaying
respectfulness to classmates and school staff
• TO ENJOY THE OVERALL LEARNING PROCESS AS
STUDENTS, AND MYSELF AS A TEACHER, BY BEING
COMMITTED TO FORM A COLLABORATIVE
RELATIONSHIP THAT BOOSTS ACHIEVEMENT IN
EVERYTHING THAT WE DO WITHIN THIS CLASSROOM
