Jigsaw Grouping is a cooperative learning technique where students are split into home groups and each student is assigned a topic to become an expert on. Experts then teach their topic to their home group so that together the group learns all topics. There are four steps: material is divided into sections assigning each student a section; students become experts in their assigned section; experts teach their home groups; and home groups assess their combined knowledge through projects, quizzes, and evaluations. Assessment considers content knowledge gained, group skills developed, and the learning process used to share and gain knowledge.
