1) Twelve elementary schools from around Jerusalem participated in a treasure hunt game at the Israel Museum where students used clues on a digital platform and the Google Art Project to direct classmates physically at the museum to locate treasures in the galleries.
2) Students had to correctly answer questions about artworks after their classmates found them and take photos as proof before receiving the next clue.
3) The game was meant to inspire the message "The other is me" and brought together words to complete the sentence "Sometimes I am similar, other times I am different but at all times I am equal."

After the Holocaust, most Jewish survivors did not want to return to their homes out of fear of Nazis still being present or retaliation. Many countries refused to accept Holocaust survivors, though the US and Israel eventually took in the largest numbers. Jewish survivors largely sought refuge in displaced persons camps, with various Jewish organizations working to provide food, shelter, and vocational training while they found permanent places to live.

This document describes a do-it-yourself approach to heritage education through a mobile museum game called "In het wiel van Odiel". Students create their own mobile games using a web-based authoring tool to engage with the cultural heritage of three specialized city museums in Belgium. The games are played during an actual museum visit to unlock content and explore the narrative of a key historical figure. Evaluations found that students were highly motivated to both create and play the games, helping immerse them in the local history and develop important skills.
This document outlines an exploitation plan for implementing a mobile learning activity called the e-Plan in cultural institutions in Hungary and Bulgaria. The plan was first implemented in August 2007 in Hódmezövásárhely, Hungary and Varna, Bulgaria. It involved using mobile devices like PDAs to deliver educational content and games to motivate adult learners. The plan aims to test the effectiveness of mobile and experimental learning for adults and explore applying mobile technology in cultural institutions. It is based on theories that information is easier to learn and remember when conveyed through stories and games. The methodology involves using this mobile activity to validate results on mobile learning for adults both within and outside the project consortium. Sustainability of the achievements
The document discusses using mobile games to enhance cultural heritage experiences. It describes two projects in Belgium - the ARCHIE museum game for the Gallo-Roman Museum, and the Park Explorer app for the Middelheimmuseum sculpture park. The ARCHIE game encouraged social interaction and exploration among young visitors. Both apps were well received by users and successful in motivating exploration. The document also outlines a do-it-yourself approach where students created mobile games based on local history for two city museums in Izegem. Evaluations found the games immersed students in content and made museum visits more engaging.
Science Maths Projects Winners And Runners Up Prague2009etpr
This document summarizes two science and math projects for primary school students. Both projects were year-long and incorporated topics from national curricula into hands-on activities. A mathematical and artistic school game was organized at Primary School 112 in Warsaw during an Erasmus+ project called "Maths is everywhere – mathematical journey through Europe". Students from classes 6a and 6e were divided into six teams labeled with geometric figures. Each team had to complete six exercises including using geometric figures to solve problems, arranging and coloring a mathematical puzzle, solving a sudoku puzzle, arranging a tangram puzzle into a shape, creating a flower through origami, and making a mandala on a CD. Younger students also joined in during a break. The exercises were prepared and led by students from the sixth grade classes.
This document provides an introduction to and overview of toys and games that can be used in teaching science and technology at the primary and early secondary levels of education. It discusses trends in curriculum development, focusing on a learning by doing approach. It explores how toys and games are viewed differently across cultures. The document also examines debates around emphasizing processes versus concepts in science education. Section 2 will provide examples of specific toys and games that have been used successfully in different countries to teach science and technology concepts in an engaging way for students.
This document describes a project by a museum where local middle school students wrote labels for artifacts from the Egyptian collection to share their thoughts, ideas, and opinions. It includes labels written by several students about the Sphinx, a statue, and a mummy. The labels show what interests each student and what they would like to learn more about regarding the history and meaning of each object. The document also explains that curators help visitors understand artifacts and cultures through the information and research.

Audience participation in museums: Game Design as Learning Activity Nikolaos Avouris
This document summarizes a workshop on audience engagement in museums through game design and learning activities. It discusses how games can encourage active participation from visitors rather than passive consumption of information by allowing them to construct meaning through interaction. Examples are given of mobile technologies and social media supporting user-generated content like tagging objects, recording personal stories, and linking or categorizing objects. The document also discusses engagement through connecting personal stories, serving the community as citizen curators, and building personal narratives. It describes audience engagement through community-created games and presents a game content editor tool currently in development to allow players to build games for others. In conclusion, participatory activities like game design are said to offer rich learning experiences when integrated into museum activities.

The document describes the development of a computer game called "Art Thief" meant to supplement traditional art history lecture courses. The game was created by graduate researchers to incorporate principles of effective computer-based learning: active knowledge construction, cooperation/teamwork, and problem-solving. As a first-person mystery game set in a virtual art museum, Art Thief aims to immerse players in an engaging narrative while exposing them to art history content. The researchers designed it using open-source tools and public domain artworks so it could serve as a free model for educational game developers.
Catherine Georgopoulou describes her experience with an eTwinning project called "Journey Through Time". The project involved students from 9 European countries following the journey of two characters, Etwin and Ning, as they discovered historical sites across Europe. Through activities like creating presentations, a virtual museum, e-book, maps, puzzles and games, students learned about the history and culture of different countries while improving their communication skills. The project promoted multicultural understanding and gave students experience with innovative teaching methods using digital tools. Teachers and students from various countries collaborated to create shared educational resources and tell a common story.

THE SACRIFICE HOW PRO-PALESTINE PROTESTS STUDENTS ARE SACRIFICING TO CHANGE T...indexPub
The recent surge in pro-Palestine student activism has prompted significant responses from universities, ranging from negotiations and divestment commitments to increased transparency about investments in companies supporting the war on Gaza. This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.

1. Education Week March 2014
The other is me - Telematic Treasure Hunt at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem
March 2014 The Israel Museum, Jerusalem, together with the Directorate of Computers in Educational
Administration, in the Jerusalem Municipality and the Department of Information Technology in the
Ministry of Education launched a challenging treasure hunt where elementary school students from 12
schools from around Jerusalem sought out their ‘treasure’ in an exciting game that took place throughout
the Museum campus.
The treasure hunt took place simultaneously in the school and in the Museum with the class -based
students directing their representatives in the Museum to the eight treasures located in the galleries by
using the Google Art Project. As the students received their first clue that appeared on their specially
built digital platform, (LINOIT), they dispatched their representatives in the Museum – between 3-5
students accompanied by an adult – to the specific location in the gallery. The Museum team’s role was
to take a photo of the object using their Android tablet and send it in by email to be uploaded into the
game’s dedicated Google+ gallery as ‘proof’ of their discovery.
Meanwhile, the classroom-located students had to answer specific questions about the artwork and
upload their answers into the system. Only after the class replied correctly to the first set of questions
and the successful upload of the Museum’s team’s ‘proof’ of finding the art in the gallery did the system
release the next of the eight challenges. (The “system” being the dedicated Municipality staff who
managed the game from the operation center in the Museum New Media Center). At this point in the
game, the Museum-based students came back to a central point in the Museum to receive an envelope
with the first printed word of the full sentence they would need in order to complete the game.
The telematic challenge took place during Education Week and was inspired by the message “The other is
me”. As the game moved forward, and as each team found the correct solutions and posted the correct
photo, further words were added to eventually come together to make up the sentence "Sometimes I am
similar, other times I am different but at all times I am equal”. The game took place in both Hebrew and
Arabic according to school’s requirements , but all the students seemed to be competent enough in
English to be able to use the maps and explanations in GAP to send their friends scrambling around the
galleries and Art Garden.
After many hours of intrepid excitement the winning team received their prize from Jerusalem Mayor Nir
Barkat in the presence of Moshe Tur-Paz, Director, Jerusalem Education Administration (MANHI ) and
National ICT Supervisor in the Ministry of Education, Ronit Nehemiah. The ceremony was webcast to the
schools in real -time so that all of the students could ‘take part’ in the celebration.
