This document discusses the use of multi-touch interactive surfaces for collaborative learning. It describes how such technology has been researched since 2001 in the Helsinki Media Lab and matured to a point where it can enable collaborative knowledge building. The document outlines scenarios for prototypes using these surfaces to allow groups of students to collaboratively answer questions and build a shared knowledge base. It indicates the document is part of a larger funding proposal for the iTEC project which aims to use innovative technologies to engage students in the classroom over 4 years.
