The document discusses how an Automated Project Office (APO) system called ITBuzz can help a company gain visibility into projects, collect data on key performance metrics, and provide dashboards and reports to help managers identify issues early and ensure best practices are followed. ITBuzz integrates data from different domains like portfolio management, service delivery, and issue tracking to give managers a centralized view of project performance and health. Demonstrations of the ITBuzz system show how it can generate dashboards and reports on topics like resource loads, budgets, stage gates, and scorecards to help managers make more informed decisions.

Track Keynote for the Process, Project and Portfolio Management Track at the IBM Rational Software Conference 2009
Software and systems delivery has become a fundamental business process in the global economy, and the ability to adapt to changing market conditions requires that information technology is fully integrated into the business strategy and operations to ensure consistent alignment with business priorities, and better execution.
Executives require visibility and real-time decision support to keep the enterprise focused on solutions to high-priority problems, supported by the ability to measure the performance of current and future IT activities and assets. IT leaders must deliver significant business value and ensure constant alignment of project investments with evolving business objectives. Project leaders must be able to identify, implement and drive adoption of repeatable best-practice approaches for successful execution, and be able to more proactively identify and resolve issues, to reduce risks associated with project failure. All stakeholders must be involved and informed in addressing the changing business needs, especially when variations in project health threaten outcomes.
This track explores topics across several domains that support organizational change and iterative software and systems delivery. Hear and learn from actual experiences across the spectrum of process adoption, portfolio planning and oversight, and execution of major initiatives, programs, and projects. This track is for executives, IT leaders, program managers, project managers, portfolio managers, process engineers, business analysts, and other stakeholders concerned with optimizing IT investments with industry best practices and team unifying tools for more predictability, adaptability, and visibility.

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.
Let's dive deeper into the world of ODC! Ricardo Alves (OutSystems) will join us to tell all about the new Data Fabric. After that, Sezen de Bruijn (OutSystems) will get into the details on how to best design a sturdy architecture within ODC.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

Buzz identifies five IT management domains, shown here:Portfolio Management. This establishes standard criteria for evaluating proposals making it easier to compare projects on an apples-to-apples basis. It ensures that all work is authorized, valuable, aligned, and balanced. Project Management. Ensures that the project’s cost, scope, schedule and risk profile are fully developed, documented and agreed upon by all stakeholders before development starts. You can verify that the project plan is feasible from the point of view of the team charged with the work. Service Management. Service Management provides oversight of the IT products and services deployed to support the day-to-day operations of your business. It monitors performance, stability, conformance to service level commitments, fit-for-purpose and helps track end user satisfaction.Capability Management. Leverage experience on concluded projects to refine your formal processes for future projects. This includes processes for estimating the work required, managing the risks, controlling scope, handling communications. Results Management. Find out how your projects performed. Did you deliver on time and on budget? Did you deliver all the functionality that was expected? Did the project result in a high quality solution? These five domains form two closed (feedback) loops: <click> one for service delivery and <click> one for process improvement with Project Management (the original APO) lying at the conjunction of the two.
The soft and hard data behind the dashboards. This is an example of the virtual MBWA data collected. We can look at this by project, organization, portfolio of projects…… all the way down to the person.
