Fact or Opinion Video
What is a Fact?
• A fact generally refers to
something which can be verified
with evidence and is provable,
observable, and measurable.
• Those are statements that can
be proven by reliable authority
or information such as based on
statistics, scientific law, history
book and others.
Example:
Rodrigo Roa Duterte is the
16th president of the
Philippines.
FACT
What is an Opinion?
• An opinion, however, is a
statement that holds an element
of belief; it tells how someone
feels.
• An opinion is not always true
and something which cannot be
proven, and they are based on
someone’s thoughts, feelings
and understanding.
Example:
Rodrigo Roa Duterte is the
best president of the
Philippines.

What is a Black Hole?
(An excerpt from the PRIMALS Compendium)
A black hole is a place in space where
gravity pulls so much that even light
cannot get out. The gravity is so strong
because matter has been squeezed into a
tiny space. This can happen when a star is
dying.
Because no light can get out, people
can't see black holes. They are invisible.
Space telescopes with special tools can
help find black holes. The special tools
can see how stars that are very close to
black holes act differently than other stars.
What is a Black Hole?
(An excerpt from the PRIMALS Compendium)
Scientists think the smallest black holes
formed when the universe began. Stellar
black holes are made when the center of a
very big star falls in upon itself, or collapses.
When this happens, it causes a supernova.
It was claimed that it is a supernova of an
exploding star that blasts part of the star into
space. Scientists think supermassive black
holes were made at the same time as the
galaxy they are in.
What is a Black Hole?
(An excerpt from the PRIMALS Compendium)
According to the scientists, a black hole
cannot be seen because strong gravity pulls all
of the light into the middle of the black hole. But
scientists can see how the strong gravity affects
the stars and gas around the black hole.
Scientists can study stars to find out if they are
flying around, or orbiting, a black hole.
When a black hole and a star are close
together, high-energy light is made. This kind of
light cannot be seen with human eyes. Scientists
use satellites and telescopes in space to see the
high-energy light.

JOSE RIZAL: The Ultimate Filipino Leader
by: An excerpt from the Editors of Britannica
José Rizal, in full José Protasio Rizal
Mercado y Alonso Realonda, (born June 19,
1861, Calamba, Philippines—died December
30, 1896, Manila), patriot, physician, and man of
letters who was an inspiration to the Philippine
nationalist movement.
The son of a prosperous lawyer, Rizal was
educated in Manila and at the University of
Madrid. A brilliant medical student, he soon
committed himself to the reform of Spanish rule
in his home country, though he never advocated
Philippine independence.
According to the biographies written for
our National hero, most of his writing was done
in Europe, where he resided between 1882 and
1892. In 1887 Rizal published his first novel, Noli
Me Tangere (The Social Cancer), a passionate
exposure of the evils of Spanish rule in the
Philippines. A sequel, El Filibusterismo (1891;
The Reign of Greed),
Rizal returned to the Philippines in 1992.
He founded a nonviolent-reform society, the Liga
Filipina, in Manila, and was deported to Dapitan
in Northwest Mindanao.
Rizal was arrested and tried for
sedition by the military. Found guilty, he
was publicly executed by a firing squad in
Leyte.
It was argued by the Philippine
historians that his martyrdom convinced
Filipinos that there was no alternative to
independence from Spain. On the eve of
his execution, while confined in Fort
Santiago, Rizal wrote “Último adiós” (“Last
Farewell”), deemed a masterpiece of 19th-
century Spanish verse.

  • 36. What is a Black Hole? (An excerpt from the PRIMALS Compendium) A black hole is a place in space where gravity pulls so much that even light cannot get out. The gravity is so strong because matter has been squeezed into a tiny space. This can happen when a star is dying. Because no light can get out, people can't see black holes. They are invisible. Space telescopes with special tools can help find black holes. The special tools can see how stars that are very close to black holes act differently than other stars.
  • 37. What is a Black Hole? (An excerpt from the PRIMALS Compendium) Scientists think the smallest black holes formed when the universe began. Stellar black holes are made when the center of a very big star falls in upon itself, or collapses. When this happens, it causes a supernova. It was claimed that it is a supernova of an exploding star that blasts part of the star into space. Scientists think supermassive black holes were made at the same time as the galaxy they are in.
  • 38. What is a Black Hole? (An excerpt from the PRIMALS Compendium) According to the scientists, a black hole cannot be seen because strong gravity pulls all of the light into the middle of the black hole. But scientists can see how the strong gravity affects the stars and gas around the black hole. Scientists can study stars to find out if they are flying around, or orbiting, a black hole. When a black hole and a star are close together, high-energy light is made. This kind of light cannot be seen with human eyes. Scientists use satellites and telescopes in space to see the high-energy light.

  • 46. Given Text: JOSE RIZAL: The Ultimate Filipino Leader by: An excerpt from the Editors of Britannica José Rizal, in full José Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda, (born June 19, 1861, Calamba, Philippines—died December 30, 1896, Manila), patriot, physician, and man of letters who was an inspiration to the Philippine nationalist movement. The son of a prosperous lawyer, Rizal was educated in Manila and at the University of Madrid. A brilliant medical student, he soon committed himself to the reform of Spanish rule in his home country, though he never advocated Philippine independence.
  • 47. According to the biographies written for our National hero, most of his writing was done in Europe, where he resided between 1882 and 1892. In 1887 Rizal published his first novel, Noli Me Tangere (The Social Cancer), a passionate exposure of the evils of Spanish rule in the Philippines. A sequel, El Filibusterismo (1891; The Reign of Greed), Rizal returned to the Philippines in 1992. He founded a nonviolent-reform society, the Liga Filipina, in Manila, and was deported to Dapitan in Northwest Mindanao.
  • 48. Rizal was arrested and tried for sedition by the military. Found guilty, he was publicly executed by a firing squad in Leyte. It was argued by the Philippine historians that his martyrdom convinced Filipinos that there was no alternative to independence from Spain. On the eve of his execution, while confined in Fort Santiago, Rizal wrote “Último adiós” (“Last Farewell”), deemed a masterpiece of 19th- century Spanish verse.
