This document presents the results of an experiment evaluating the interaction effect of operating parameters of a rotary tiller blade on tillage quality under controlled soil bin conditions. Specifically, it analyzes the effect of tilling depth, forward speed, and rotary speed on soil mean mass diameter when using a J-shaped rotavator blade on medium-textured soil. The experiment found that these operating parameters significantly impacted tillage quality. Optimum values were a tilling depth of 100 mm, forward speed of 400 rpm, and rotary speed of 2.0 km/h, which produced a mean soil mass diameter of 2.31 mm. Statistical analysis using response surface methodology supported that changes in the operating parameters influence tillage quality

Abstract This study provided an investigation of active root tree zone located at the toe of the slope. This section of slope generated suction due to tree water uptake during dry season. A field monitoring set up program was carried out to collect matric suction data at slope with absent of a tree and with a tree located at toe of the slope. The installations of Jet-fill tensiometer and Gypsum blocks to measured matric suction were placed at vicinity of tree with certain depths and distances. The distribution in matric suction values and matric suction profiles responses to tree water uptake and rainfall were investigated. The decreased of soil matric suction after intense rainfall in this monitoring period as a function of an initial condition before the water uptake driven by active root tree substantially increased matric suction (low moisture content). Matric suction significantly increased at vicinity of tree trunk located at toe of slope compared to the slope without tree. This exploration provides the viewed of mature tree can significantly alter the suction distribution driven by transpiration in an unsaturated soil slope. Land Use / Land Cover Classification of kanniykumari Coast, Tamilnadu, India....IJERA Editor
The land use/ land cover details of Kanniyakuamri coast which is Located in the southern part of Tamil Nadu (India) is studied. Satellite imagery is used to identify the Land use/ Land cover status of the study area. The software like ERDAS and Arc GIS are used to demarcate the land use / Land cover features of Kanniyakuamari coast. Remote sensing and GIS provided consistent and accurate base line information than many of the conventional surveys employed for such a task. The total area of Kanniyakumari coast is 715 sq.km. The land use / land cover classes of the study area has been categorized into thirteen such as Plantation, Sandy area, Water logged area, Scrub forest, Crop Land, Water bodies, Land with scrub, Reserve forest, Land without Scrub, Salt area, Beach Ridge, Settlement and Fallow land on the basis NRSA Classifications. Among these categories, land with scrub land is predominantly found all over the study area, It is occupied about 336.36 sq.km (44.61 percent), Crop Land 273.82 sq.km(38.29 percent), water bodies lands sharing about 20.44 sq.km (2.85 percent ), settlement occupied with 6.96 sq.km (0.97 percent), and Fallow land was occupied 13.98 sq.km ( 1.95 percent ).

Abstract
This paper presents in the improvement of problematic soils in a environmental friendly method. The present paper geopolymer to stabilize a soft soil. Geopolymer is an alkali activated solution prepared by combining sodium hydroxide(NaOH) with the sodium silicate solution(Na2SiO3). The sodium hydroxide solution is prepared to 12M concentration and Na2SiO3/NaOH ratio of 2.5. The geopolymer increases the strength of the black cotton soil by geopolymerisation. The geopolymerisation process involves three separate but interrelated stages. During initial mixing the alkaline solution dissolves silicon and aluminium ions from the amorphous phases of the feedstock. In this solution, neighboring silicon or aluminium hydroxide molecules then undergo a condensation reaction, where adjacent hydroxyl ions from these near neighbors condense to form an oxygen bond linking the molecules and a free molecule of water. The application of mild heat causes these “monomers” and other silicon and aluminium hydroxide molecules to poly-condense or polymerise, to form rigid chains or nets of oxygen bonded tetrahedra. In the present study geopolymer is treated with the black cotton soil. The effect of geopolymer on strength characteristic of Black cotton soil have been studied for a curing period of 7days 15days and 28days. The compressive strength of black cotton soil increases with geopolymer dosage and curing.. The density of black cotton soil also increases with the increase in geopolymer. The test result indicates that geopolymer is very effective in stabilizing the soft soil. conversion of paddy fields causes a decrease in paddy fields.
Paddy fields as a rice-producing container should be
maintained and protected so that the paddy needs in
Gorontalo Regency are still fulfilled. Optimization of paddy
fields needs to be done by the Gorontalo Regency government
as an effort to increase the area of paddy fields. This study
aims to determine priority lands for the development of paddy
fields in Gorontalo Regency. Determination of priority land
for growing wetland uses using the Weighted Linear
Combination (WLC) method based on geographic information
systems (GIS). The parameters used consist of driving factors
and inhibiting factors. Types of land use that have land rent
are forests, shrubs and moor. The criteria that influence the
development of paddy field use are the distance from the
paddy fields, the distance from the bush, the distance from the
moor, the distance from the river and the distance from the
small road. Land that has a high priority for the development
of paddy land use is 6,656 ha (3.01%), medium priority land is
4,721 ha (2.16%), low priority land is 4,671 ha (2.14%) and
very low priority land for development in paddy field use is
202,155 ha (92.68%).

Predicting the compression index applying mathematical model for loose dense sand has been thoroughly developed, this is to monitor the rate of compression during settlement of loose dense sand, the model were generated to monitor the compression index of uniform loose sand in coastal area of Degema, the study express compression index at various depth within the specified range, the generated model produced simulation values compared with the measured values, both parameters developed faviourable fits, the compression index expressed linear increase to the optimum level at different depth, the study has also express the rate of homogeneity of the strata in various formations, these developed model will definitely be applied to predict the compression index for uniform loose sand under the influences of settlement in caring any impose load .

Environmental Impact Assessment of Gully Erosion in Umuoji, Idemili North L.G...theijes
Fivegully sites from five villages namely Uruegbe, Akala-etiti, Umuazu, Dianokwu and Dimechem were selected in Umuoji and soil samples collected from the various locations respectively, to evaluate the impact of gully erosion within the environment in Umuoji. Results indicated that the soil samples have Atterberg limit that might be considered low, while liquid limit (LL) ranged from 25 – 30, the plasticity index (PI) ranged from 1 – 5%, which suggested that the soils are slight plastic. Moisture content was moderate. Chemical analysis, on the other hand, revealed that the soil samples are fairly low. Organic matter content ranged from 7.4 - 12%, the soil PH level ranged from 5 – 6 which is within slightly acidic and moderate acidic. Engineering properties and physio-chemical characteristics of soil samples from gully selected area, thus, provided insights into the contributing factors of gully formations that are prevalent in the Umuoji environment. Concrete tracing and backfilling of gully affected areas is recommended to reduce the impact of gullying or the force of rain-drop. This will reduce the formation and widening of the incipient gullies.

Now-a-days disposal of different wastes materials produced from agricultural and industrial
residuals is a great problem. These materials pose environmental pollution in the nearby locality. As
a result, there has been a trend towards recycling the waste materials into a highway construction
system. Valuable benefits in terms of economic and environmental gains are possible. Two types of
wastes materials, rice husk and sawdust were used to improve the properties of the clayey subgrade
soil. A procedure was adopted to quantify the beneficial effect of subgrade soils stabilization benefits
which base on the extension of pavement service life and reduction in the base course thickness.
Results show that both types of wastes materials helps in great improvement of soil properties as

Energy requirement in tillage operations plays a vital role in agricultural mechanization. This hardly comes by since much drudgery is still applied in farming operation in respect to mechanization. This research was conducted at National Root Crops Research Institute (NRCRI) Experimental Farm, Umudike Umuahia, Abia State of Nigeria. Three different tractor forward speeds of 1.94 m/s, 2.22 m/s and 2.5 m/s were employed to determine the needed energy requirements in the ploughing operations. It was observed that total energy expended on ploughing were 36,722.34 KJ, 55,173.61 KJ and 69,464.82 KJ respectively. The results indicated that energy decreased with increase in moisture content level db% and increased with increase in bulk density at various forward speeds. This follows the sloping and rising up of the graphs as the moisture content levels (db %) and bulk density (g/cm3) increased, with highest coefficient of determination R2 = 0.698 at tractor forward speed of 1.94 m/s. The result revealed that energy increased as the tractor forward speeds increased with mean energy values of 1,836.12 KJ, 2,758.58 KJ and 3,637.13 KJ. The highest energy was expended at tractor forward speed of 2.5 m/s. It was clear that the ploughing at tractor forward speed of 1.94 m/s requires less energy. Therefore, 1.94 m/s tractor forward speed is preferred to ploughing operation

Power plants release a large amount of water vapor into the
atmosphere through the stack. The flue gas can be a potential
source for obtaining much needed cooling water for a power
plant. If a power plant could recover and reuse a portion of this
moisture, it could reduce its total cooling water intake
requirement. One of the most practical way to recover water
from flue gas is to use a condensing heat exchanger. The power
plant could also recover latent heat due to condensation as well
as sensible heat due to lowering the flue gas exit temperature.
Additionally, harmful acids released from the stack can be

Condensation of vapors in flue gas is a complicated
phenomenon since heat and mass transfer of water vapor and
various acids simultaneously occur in the presence of noncondensable

heat and mass transfer processes. A computer program for
numerical simulations of water (H2O) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4)
condensation in a flue gas condensing heat exchanger was
developed using MATLAB. Governing equations based on
mass and energy balances for the system were derived to
predict variables such as flue gas exit temperature, cooling
water outlet temperature, mole fraction and condensation rates
of water and sulfuric acid vapors. The equations were solved
using an iterative solution technique with calculations of heat
and mass transfer coefficients and physical properties.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
