This document summarizes research on the effect of glass fiber volume and mineral admixtures on the behavior of high performance fiber reinforced concrete (HPFRC). It discusses how HPFRC was produced using fly ash, metakaolin, and superplasticizer to improve mechanical and durability properties. The mechanical properties tested included compressive, split tensile, and flexural strength at various ages. Durability properties like water absorption, chloride penetration, and acid resistance were also evaluated. The results showed that HPFRC with optimal fiber and mineral admixture contents can achieve high strength and satisfy durability requirements for classification as a high performance cementitious composite.

Foam concrete has become most trending material in construction industry. People from construction field were come
out with the mix design of foam concrete to meet the specifications and the requirement needs. This is because foam concrete
has the possibility as alternative of lightweight concrete for producing intermediate strength capabilities with excellent thermal
insulation, freeze-thaw resistance, high impact resistance and good shock absorption. Fibres are generally used in concrete to
reduce the crackings due to plastic and drying shrinkages. They also reduce the permeability of concrete and thus reduce
bleeding of water. The inclusion of fibre reinforcement in concrete can enhance many more engineering properties of the basic
materials, Such as fracture toughness, flexural toughness, flexural strength and resistance to fatigue, impact, thermal shock and
spalling. From the practical observations on addition of 2% of fibre gives the effective distribution of fibre in the concrete. The
strain value of the concrete is decreases with increase in fibre content.

Analysis the Effect of Steel Fibre and Marble Dust with Strength of Pavement ...ijtsrd
The thrust nowadays is to produce thinner and green pavement sections of better quality, which can carry the heavy loads. The high strength steel fibre reinforced concrete is a concrete having compressive strength greater than 40MPa, made of hydraulic cements and containing fine and coarse aggregates; and discontinuous, unconnected, randomly distributed steel fibres. The present study aims at, developing pavement quality concrete mixtures incorporating marble dust as partial replacement of cement as well as steel fibres. The aim is to the design of slab thickness of PQC pavement using the achieved flexural strength of the concrete mixtures. In this study, the flexural, compressive and split tensile strength for pavement quality concrete mixtures for different percentage of steel fibres and replacement of cement with marble dust are reported. It is found out the maximum increase in flexure strength, compressive strength and split tensile strength is for 0% Marble Dust and 1% Steel fibre. Also it has been possible to achieve savings in cement by replacing it with marble dust and adding fibres. This study also shows that in view of the high flexural strength, high values of compressive strength and high values of split tensile strength, higher load carrying capacity and higher life expectancy, the combination of 10 to 20% marble dust replacement along with addition of 0.5 to 1% steel fibres is ideal for design of Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC). The Coupled Effect of Nano Silica and Superplasticizer on Concrete Fresh and ...IJMER
The The effect of individual and combined additions of both nano silica (NS) and
polycarboxylate-ether superplasticizer (SP) admixtures on concrete mixes were studied. Twenty concrete
mixes were prepared, keeping the water/cement ratio constant at w/c = 0.40, with different amounts of
SP admixture, and NS. the superplasticizer was studied in the range of (0 – 0.88)% (over cement weight),
nano silica additions were tested at (0 – 3.00)% range (over cement weight). Early, and late
compressive strengths, as well as results of fresh concrete (slump) test of formulations were evaluated by
means of design of experiments, in order to identify the primary factors and their interactions on the
measured properties. The most desirable NS and SP % were determined. The results showed that
regardless of the used NS percentage, the higher compressive strength results were reached at, or
around SP observed saturation dosage (0.66% by weight cement). The statistical approach applied here
enabled to develop relations, which could adequately describe the dependency of both the compressive
strength, and slump on the composition of NS, and SP concretes. These relations were presented as
contour plots, which from a practical point of view could serve as a basis for mix design

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON STRENGTH BEHAVIOUR OF SELF COMPACTING CONCRETE USING RE...AM Publications
The construction of modern structures alarming the attention of use of materials with improved properties
in respect of strength, stiffness, toughness and durability. Concrete is one of the most widely used construction material
having several advantages such as high strength, good mould ability and high durability. The major disadvantages of
concrete are its poorer tensile strength and lesser ductility (toughness). Conventional concrete used in building
construction and engineering applications requires compaction to attain strength, durability and homogeneity. The
typical method of compaction, by vibration, generates delays and additional costs in projects and could pose a serious
health hazard due to noise pollution in and around construction sites. Self Compacting Concrete (SCC) is a concrete
which is highly flowble, can flows readily into place, fill the formwork without any compaction and without undergoing
any significant segregation. Recycling is the act of processing the used material for creating a new useful product.
Construction and Demolished waste also generate Recycled Aggregate (RA). Such a Recycled Aggregate proved to be a
reliable alternative to Natural Aggregates (NA) in concrete. There is a growing need for renovation from a usual
consumption based society to a sustainable society owing the natural environment pollution, exhaustion of natural
resources and as decreasing capacity of disposal facilities for final waste. Use of aggregates from Building Demolished
Waste (BDW) in structural concrete is definitely an important stride. Use of RA in developing SCC is certainly a novel
thought towards achieving a sustainable concrete. There is a pressing demand for the use of Recycled Aggregate in
recent concretes, as sustainability is given the highest importance in today’s world. This has necessitated the make use
of Recycled Aggregates in SCC and fibre based SCC. Hence Reinforced Self Compacting Concrete using Recycled
Aggregate with fibres may be a potential material in construction. In order to clearly understand the performance of
such a concrete, there is a call for to study the stress-strain and flexural strength behaviour. The present study focuses
on flexural bond strength behaviour of Fibre Reinforced Self Compacting Concrete by replacing the natural Aggregate
with Recycled Aggregate. BDW is used as coarse aggregate in the concrete, with an aim to achieve sustainable concrete.

Investigate the Potential of Hypo Sludge and Steel Fiber, Which Can Be Partia...ijtsrd
Concrete and steel are the two main construction materials used in reinforced concrete structures around the world. The material that is utilised the most frequently is concrete, aside from this. These materials manufacturing procedures result in the production of greenhouse gas GHG emissions. GHG emissions can be decreased by lessening the environmental impact and improving the sustainability of cement replacement while maintaining the physical and mechanical characteristics of concrete. These materials disposal seriously pollutes the environment. Hypo Sludge HS , a waste product from the paper industry, is dumped in significant quantities as slurry. Therefore, using HS as a partial replacement for cement in the production of concrete can aid in reducing the problem of environmental pollution. With the aim of determining an acceptable optimum replacement of HS without noticeably reducing physical and mechanical properties compared to regular concrete of the same grade, the current study, which is based on prior research, uses HS as a partial replacement of cement varying up to 40 for concrete manufacturing in combination with the addition of Steel Fibre SF up to 4 with super plasticizer. A comparative study on the influence of MWCNT, GO, and Al(OH)3 gel matrix mo...Adib Bin Rashid
The main objective of this paper was to identify the influence of different filler materials on the properties of hybrid composites. The hybrid composites were fabricated using randomly oriented glass fiber mats, needle punched jute fiber mats, and epoxy resin as the matrix material. Three different kinds of filler materials were studied: Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNTs), Graphene Oxide (GO), and Aluminum Hydroxide (AlOH)
nanoparticles. The secondary reinforcements were dispersed in the epoxy matrix through ultrasonication. The
composites were made by conventional hand lay-up followed by applying high pressure and temperature under a hydraulic press to effectively cure and minimize voids within the final composite. These were compared with the
properties of the unmodified composite containing no filler. The influence on mechanical properties was evaluated through tensile, flexural, and impact tests. Failure modes of the fractured tensile specimen were observed
through Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) analysis was done to observe
the changes in the chemical structure upon the addition of secondary reinforcements. Lastly, water absorption
behavior and flame retardancy were observed as well. The results showed that MWCNT resulted in the composite
exhibiting superior properties and GO, on the contrary, led to the deterioration of the properties. This could be
because an optimum concentration of MWCNT was used, whereas this was not the case for GO filler. The addition
of MWCNT resulted in a more substantial but brittle composite, while AlOH enhanced the ductility of the
composite by compromising the overall strength. Hence, it can be concluded that MWCNT resulted in the formation of composites with the most desired properties.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
