This document provides information and advice about an upcoming exam for an Introduction to Management course. It details that the exam is worth 50% of the course grade and consists of two parts - Part A involves answering two out of four essay questions, and Part B involves answering six out of ten short answer questions. management utilised by contemporary organisations? Discuss

– If there are two parts to the question make sure you have a least
one paragraph for both.

• They are worth 10 marks each
• Work out where the 10 marks are located
• Look at the lecture slides – the questions will come from there
• e.g. Contrast the three approaches to the control system
1.5 marks for identifying market control, 1.5 marks for explaining
1.5 marks for identifying bureaucratic control, 1.5 marks for explaining
1.5 marks for identifying clan control, 1.5 marks for explaining
1 mark for the overall quality of the answer

• Set it out clearly.
• Double space your work
• I will not have your exam so make it easy for the other tutor
• Underline or put the ideas on a separate line
• The classical view of social responsibility is xyz.
• The socio economic view of social responsibility is xyz.
• The easier it is for them to read, the easier it is for them to find
you marks

• 12 minutes per short answer (max)
• Have time at the end to re-read everything
• If you leave early – don’t. Spend all the time writing anything
to help you get marks.
