The Debate On Gay Marriage
A recent Supreme Court decision ruling that homosexual couples were, by law, allowed to marry
sparked great debate when made public. Advocates for same love rejoiced, painting profile
pictures in the colors of the rainbow and crying out that reform was attainable. On the flip side,
opponents mourned the direction the nation was facing, firing back on social media with firm
viewpoints but little else. For its highly controversial standing, the debate on gay marriage brings to
light a question buried beneath the subject. How does the individual determine right from wrong? It
would seem that a person s moralityis predetermined, but has the ability to change when external
influences act upon it. When injustices arise, the person, based on his or her conscience, will step
in and take action to right the wrong.
A person s conscience points the way in his or her life, guiding where to go, what to do, and how
to speak. This conscience is a pre instilled set of morals that directs how an individual feels on a
certain subject and whether it is right or wrong. The Grapes of Wrath, written by John Steinbeck,
makes good note of this natural inclination, saying that people knew of the right to talk and to
listen (265). The migrant families knew automatically what was acceptable and what was
inappropriate. By nature, the migrants instinctively knew where to step and how to interact. In an
earlier chapter, good conscience is also exhibited when Mae, a waitress, sells candy to a few

Benefits Of Ecotourism In Kenya
1.0Introduction
To study the ecotourism in Kenya, this report was written. Ecotourism is a travel to protected areas
that attempts to be low impact and small scale. It helps to educate the traveller, provide funds for
conservation, directly benefit the economic development and political empowerment of local
communities, and cultivate respect for different cultures and for human rights (Honey 2008, 33).
However, the concept evolved to encompass considerably more than simply nature based travel to
natural areas, with subsequent definitions including the importance of distributing environmental
and socio economic benefits to the local population (Honey 2008; Ross and Wall 1999; Epler Wood
2002). Kenya is one of the global leaders in tourism and community based ecotourism, working
with the many local ethnic group to protect the environment and local culture. Many activities such

The most obvious and immediate benefits of ecotourism associated with local communities are
employment opportunities and income generation for the host region. Community in Mara and
Amboseli have businesses linked to tourism. Local communities can benefit from ecotourism
economically if they play a greater participatory role in the tourism process. Economic
empowerment is also related to a community s access to productive resources in an area targeted by
ecotourism( ). When ecotourism focuses on preservation of natural resources, economic livelihoods
of local people may be threatened. However, the communities have other sources of income from
ecotourism such as nursing, teaching, waiters, guides, plantation farming, bee keeping and fish
industry, working for NGOs, game rangers, working for the government, small community projects,
income from rent, compensations in the case of wildlife human killings as well as businesses in the

Capabilities: MediaTek has created a customization model that allows customers to view a
weekly reviewed code database containing software for new features. The customers have the
ability to review and submit feedback on the features to a marketing team. This customization
model includes the assessments and recommendations of the company s internal R amp;D and
is provided free of charge to the customer. The model has proven to be beneficial for the
company as the development cycle time has been reduced from 9 to 12 months down to just
three. A key area of exploitation for the company has been its experience and research based
historic past. The current CEO of MediaTek, Ming Kai Tsai had worked as a designer manager
of the electronic research and service organization at Taiwan s Industrial Technology Research
Institute (ITRI). When Tsai joined UMC in 1983 he became director of research and
development and oversaw the creation of many products. He took the necessary steps to make
the company a top CD ROM controller supplier. Having an experienced leadership with a past in
R amp;D has proved to be a strong capability for MediaTek. They have managed to take advantage
of this by diversifying their product lineup to target various CD, DVD, and Blu ray technologies.

Origins Of The Middle Eastern Dance
Due to culture, different countries have their different ways of life. This reflects their beliefs,
values, religion, attitude, social habits, music, dance and more. Dance differs from country to
country although a dance could be practiced in other countries.
In the Middle Eastern part of the world, they have a famous type of dance called the Belly Dance .
The Middle Eastern dance is an umbrella term that consists of all dances of the Middle East and
its neighboring areas from both the past and present. However it s also a term usually used to
refer to Raqs Sharqi or belly dance and its various styles, offshoots, and predecessors. Many
scholars believe that Raqs Sharqi stems from older dances. It is known to be one of the world s
oldest dances with theories relating it to ancient dances in Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, Persia,
India and other ancient civilizations.
Middle Eastern dance have many histories and origins. It is possible that this dance can be traced
back to Mesopotamia where temples engraving depicting dancers have been found. These same
types of depiction have been found on temples in Egypt dating back to 1000 B.C. and in Greece. It
is whispered by many that this dance started as an ancient ritual dance for fertility and childbirth.
The priestesses were sometime sacred prostitutes where they would perform these dances for clients
as they invoked the Goddess.
The modern version of belly dance only goes back to the 1900 s when it was modified as a stage

Homelessness Is A Serious Social Problem
Homelessness in America has been a considered a serious social problem for at least thirty to forty
years, affecting thousands upon thousands of people in all regions of the country. The individuals
and families that make up the homeless population face struggles every day that many of us may
never even experience in our entire lives. There are many factors that either contribute to or directly
cause homelessness. Unfortunately, many people in our society believe that homelessness is a
personal problem and should be up to the individual to fix. However, homelessness is actually a
very serious social problem that we all need to be concerned about and work together to bring it
to an end. The American society is so accustomed to labeling each other just by looks, clothing,
and other material goods. Power, wealth, and prestige seem to be the only things that many
people want to live for, and those people do not attempt to put themselves in other peoples shoes,
especially not the shoes of a homeless person. This is a terrible habit that has been such a huge
part of our society for so long that a lot of people do not even see the problem with it. They may
not even realize how wrong and terrible it is to label someone just by their looks or their life
situation. But since we have done it for hundreds of years, we all continue to do it and see no
problem with it. Many people in our society label homeless people as lazy, unmotivated, and even
less intelligent than themselves just

Analysis Of Francesco Petrach s The Ascent Of Mont Ventoux
The beginning of the Renaissance brought many changes to the world. It became known as the Age
of Exploration and it brought in a new perspective on art. This perspective on art is shown through
anything from visual arts to literary art. This time period also introduced the rise of humanism. It
brought into the picture a very optimistic view of humanity. This was shown especially in the work
The Ascent of Mont Ventouxby Francesco Petrarch. This work refers back to Book X of
Confessions by Saint Augustine when Petrarch reaches the top of the mountain. Although they are
both dealing with the same passage, Petrarch and Augustine seem to interpret it in very different
ways. Petrarch wrote the Ascent of Mont Ventoux as a young man. It is a letter to his former
confessor, Dionigi di Borgo San Sepolcro, because he was in seminary school. The letter is
essentially a travel journal about his journey up Mont Ventoux. Petrarch initially wanted to take this
journey with his friends, but they either refused or were not up to his standards. He decide to just
climb the mountain with his brother. At the beginning of the journey, Petrarch writes about his
encounter with an old, cranky man in the foothills of the mountain. The man pretty much tells them
that it is a dumb idea which just encourages them to finish the journey even more. They eventually
reach the top of the mountain a few days later. At the top, Petrarch pulls out his copy of
Confessions and reads a small portion. He

Stetson Hat Factory, Texas With The Licensing Run
What do all the people above have in common? Why they re all wearing Stetson hats! Stetson hats
have come a long way. The Stetson Hat began in 1865 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by John
Batterson Stetson. Today the Stetson hat factory is in Garland, Texas with the licensing run by
Izumi Kajimoto.
Kajimoto, 55, is chief executive officer of Stetson Worldwide. She moved with her family from
Osaka, Japan to New Jersey when she was 11. She came to Stetson in 2012 after a 27 year career
in the fashion industry. She started with Ralph Lauren and held senior positions with Calvin Klein,
Donna Karen, Marc Jacobs, and Betsey Johnson.

Mumford Sons highlighted a festival in Salida, Colorado. Stetson used this venue to promote attire
that has matches the band s style of folksy music, Once again, the trying on of hats is at the center
of the company s marketing plan. As Kajimoto sees it, easing nervousness about wearing hats is
crucial to the company s future. I find American guys most self conscious about a hat, she says.
What s most important is that he feels comfortable. (Bhasin, 2015)
Cowboy culture is not forgotten. At the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas in December Stetson is
also represented. Where ever there s a major competition, from the Calgary Stampede to the
Pendleton Round Up, Stetson is there. It s all to maintain support among what Kajimoto calls core
Western culture, the rural, ranching families who still drive some of Stetson s business. (Bhasin,
2015)
Celebrity endorsements are also important to Stetson. They send an unlimited supply of hats to
celebrities, such as Leonard Cohen, Willie Nelson, and Brad Paisley. The catch is they have to
wear them in public.
I love that this company is headed by a minority woman. (I wonder what the founder would think
of that.) These are some of the key learning points I take away from this article. Kajimoto doesn t
lead from behind a desk. She s out there on the front lines. She knows the strengths and talents of
her employees. She knows her products. She is

Types Of Attacks On A Computer System
Different Types of Attacks on
Computer Systems
What is attack on a Computer Systems?
Attack on a systems or network is defined on your network infrastructure. Attacker will first analyse
network environment and collect information in order to take advantage of the existing open ports
or vulnerabilities. It may include unauthorized access to company s resources.
Passive attack In some cases, the purpose of attack is only to learn and get some information from
your computer system and your computer system resources are not manipulated or disabled in any
way, then it is called Passive attack.
And it is hard to detect that someone is monitoring you because you will not see any changes in
your system.
Active attack Active attack occurs where the attacker accesses and either alters, disables or destroys
your information or data. Attack can be happened either from outside of the organization means
Outside Attack or someone from within the company who is an insider that already has access to
the network which is called Inside Attack.
Some of the attacks will be attacks targeting the end users like Phishing or Social Engineering,
those are usually not directly called as network attacks.
Methods of attacks
These are the methods that can be used to make an attack on a computer system. Distributed attack
A distributed attack are very strategic attacks. It requires particular code such as a Trojan horseor

Response to Intervention in the Class Room Essay
Response to Intervention Response to Intervention (RtI) is a framework based off the problem
solving method that integrates assessment, and targeted instruction, within a multi tiered
intervention system. Implementation of RtI in schools is crucial to identify which students need
additional intervention that will help increase their literacy skills, and prevent them from falling
behind. RtI is based off multi leveled tiers that are each categorized by the intensity of the
intervention that is being used. The RtI framework is also used as a valued tool in monitoring and
improving student behavior in the classroom through a model known as Positive Behavioral
Intervention Support (PBIS). RtI was designed to provide early intervention to... Show more content

If the appropriate progress is not made by a student in Tier III in a timely matter, the next step
would be to test the student for any learning disabilities that are hindering their literacy skills.
RtI works at its best when personal from across the school, including administrators, general
education teachers, special education teachers, supplemental specialists, music and gym
teachers, and counselors all collaborate to support the framework, because each staff member
shares equal responsibility for the success and failure of all students (Shapiro 2011). RtI needs
the full support of all staff members, because it does not show immediate results and could take
between 3 5 years to see its positive impact. RtI gives schools the chance to correct literacy issues,
and fix the problem early, before students progress forward where they pay for it long into their
future. RtI also helps implement behavioral interventions in the classroom through a similar
process called Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS is based on a problem
solving model and aims to prevent inappropriate behavior through teaching and reinforcing
appropriate behaviors (Sandomierski, Kincaid Algozzine, 2007). Both RtI and PBIS are grounded
in differentiated instruction; a type of instruction that is beneficial to all types of students with

Rhetorical Analysis Of Fdr s Pearl Harbor Address

Rhetorical Strategies in FDR s Pearl Harbor Address December 7th, 1941 a date which will live in
infamy are the famous words Franklin Delano Roosevelt used to describe one of the most
damaging surprise attacks placed on the United States. On this day of heartbreak, Japanese planes
attacked the United States Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, killing over two thousand people and
leaving Americans terrified and confused. The day after Japan attacked the U.S, Franklin Delano
Roosevelt delivered a speech to the nation, now known as FDR s Pearl Harbor Address to the
Nation. With the use of pathos, ethos, and logos, FDR creates one of the most persuasive speeches

He states that The United States was at peace with that nation and, at the solicitation of Japan, was
still in conversation with its government and its emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace
in the Pacific. This proving that the United States had not done anything to provoke this attack.
Because the U.S. have done nothing to deserve this attack, FDR believes it is only logical to fight
back. FDR wants the people of the United States to know that they do not deserve to be walked on,
which is why it is logical to fight back. After FDR told the audience that we did nothing to provoke
this attack, he then let the audience know that Yesterday, the Japanese government also launched an
attack against Malaya. Last night, Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong... Guam... Philippine
Islands... Wake Island. And this morning, the Japanese attacked Midway Island. The fact that Japan
attacked seven different places in such a short amount of time, means that they are capable of
attacking anyone at any time. FDR s intention in announcing Japan s multiple attacks, was to have
the audience think logically of how much danger they will be in if they do not act soon.
Furthermore, FDR states that There is no blinking at the fact that our, people, our territory, and our

The Journey Of Martin Luther s Life
Martin Luther was born on November 10th, 1483 in Eisleben, Saxony. The day after his birth,
Martin was baptized as a Catholic. Martin and his family then moved to Mansfeld in 1484 where
his father was a leaseholder of copper mines and smelters (a factory that extracts metal from an
ore). When Martin was 19 years old, he went to the University of Erfurt and graduated with a
master s degree in 1505. On July 17, 1505, Martin entered a closed Augustinian friary to keep his
vow from an earlier event that happened. Martin dedicated himself to the Augustinian order. He
motivated himself to fast, to have long moments of prayer, to go on religious journeys, and to
make confessions. Martin described this time of his life as a deep spiritual event.

Villanova Research Paper
With two titles in the past three years, the Villanova Wildcats are on their way to becoming a
dynasty. Since the end of John Wooden s UCLA coaching tenure in 1975, only twice has a
school won two times in the span of three years. These were Duke s early 90 s teams of Grant
Hill, Bobby Hurley, and Christian Laettner, and Florida s 2006 2007 teams of Joakim Noah, Al
Horford, and Corey Brewer, meaning the Wildcats have joined elite company. Once known as a top
team during the regular season who would flame out in March, Jay Wright s most recent teams have
shattered that belief.
Villanova has always prided itself on continuity and developing players within their system. In the
era of one and done basketball, where over 200 underclassmen have declared for the NBA Draft in
the last five years, Villanova has been largely immune. Although they lost four underclassmen this
year, including National Player of the Year Jalen Brunson, Villanova is perfectly positioned for

Their top four scorers are gone to the NBA. Had Donte Divincenzo and Spellman, who were
both considering returning, stayed, they would have been ranked 1st. Only Eric Paschall and
Phil Booth remain from the starting lineup, and they combined for only 20 points this past year.
They are solid players, but neither of them are studs. But Jay Wright has dealt with this before.
Jalen Brunson went from a 9.6 PPG player as a freshman to almost 19 as a junior. Donte
Divincenzo had an 11 PPG uptick in only 2 years as well. Even when it seems as if Villanova is
in trouble, the next man always steps up and produces for Wright s team. And Booth and Paschall
are not alone. Would anyone be surprised if Collin Gillespie or Dhamir Cosby Roundtree, two
freshmen who usually rounded out Wright s 8 man rotation, became key contributors in their second

Francis Bacon as Shakespeare
Francis Bacon as Shakespeare For almost four hundred years the question of who truly wrote the
works attributed to William Shakespeare has been studied meticulously by many scholars and
historians. There have been many well qualified contenders, including Sir Francis Bacon. Because
of the incredible number of coincidences between Shakespeare and Bacon, it is obvious that Bacon
wrote Shakespeare. Firstly, the actor William Shakespeare, who is the supposed author of
Shakespeare s works, could not have written them. He had no formal education after thirteen,
was from a small provincial town, was a professional actor, had two daughters who were
illiterate, didn t mention any of his works in his will, and whose only surviving handwriting is
six signatures on legal documents (Rubenstein 69). Shakespeare is considered one of the
greatest authors in history, and without a formal education the intricacy of his work would be
impossible. It should also be put in consideration that many of Shakespeare s works were not
only published but edited after his death. From the publication of The Taming of the Shrew in
1594 to the publication of the First Folio in 1623, 4,936 new lines were added to the plays, a
majority of which were added posthumously (sirbacon). This in itself is evidence enough to
disprove Shakespeare entirely. Unlike William Shakespeare, Sir Francis Bacon was very well
qualified to have written Shakespeare s works. Bacon was a highly educated Member of

Exposure of Humans to Ozone
Previous studies have shown that exposure to human by ozone is effective to health and it is
increasing worldwide. Air pollution is the serious global threat which is increasing continuously
and the ground level concentration of ozone is major problem in present and also in future.
Presents projected average daily 8 h maximum ozonelevels for future using the raw and calibrated
climate model outputs. The 95% projections intervals accounts for uncertainties in the
associations between daily ozone levels, and daily meteorology and precursors level. The
number of exceedance days during the historical period was 34 per year. Calibrated climate
simulations projected an increase in the number of exceedance days ranging from 2.6 to 8.3 (7%
to 24%) with mean 2.8 (8.3%) per year between 2041 2070 and
1999 2004.
The impacts of ozone on human health are associated with short term acute effects on the
respiratory system, skin, lungs, chronic disease and death. The cellular and biochemical changes
in the alveolar region of the lung can also be measured in humans exposed to low levels of
ozone. The data presented here demonstrate that extended exposure of humans to levels of ozone
as low as 0.08 ppm results in inflammation and damage in alveolar region of the lung. These levels
are at or below the current standard, since the present hourly ozone standard of 0.12 ppm translates
roughly into 0.1 ppm over 8 h (38). Furthermore, these effects were observed using only healthy

What Roles Do Nature And Nurture Play On Children s...
What roles do nature and nurture play in children s language development?
From a baby s first word to their first complete sentence, there s a lot to debate with their language
development. The average child has a vocabulary of up to six thousand words by the time they turn
five years old (Brighthubcom, 2016). Language development is one of the most critical roles for an
educator in both early childhood and primary settings. It is this ability of language development
that is particularly interesting in the nature vs nurture debate. In order for educators to provide
effective communication, it is important that they have the knowledge and understanding of the
four key concepts of language, such as phonological, syntactic, semantic and pragmatic
development and the underlying theoretical perspectives that explain the processes of language
acquisition and development.
Nature or, in other words, heredity refers to traits that are inherited or genetic. Linguist Noam
Chomsky is a strong advocate of this perspective. He has spent a lot of time on evolving a theory
of grammar that is called universal grammar. Chomsky believed that language is innate, or in
other words we are born with a capacity for language. Chomsky suspected there is an optimal
learning age, between the ages of 3 to 10 where a child is the most likely to learn a language in its
entirety and grasp fluency. The child does not need a prompt to begin language acquisition, it
happens on its own. If a child is around

Edition) Grade 7 Originally published in New York: Dial Books, 2009. Learning Objective: The
goal of this two day exemplar is to give students the opportunity to use the reading and writing
habits they ve been practicing on a regular basis to unpack Pollan s investigative journalism of
industrial farms. By reading and rereading the passage closely combined with classroom discussion
about it, students will identify why and how farming practices have changed, as well as identify
Pollan s point of view on the subject. When combined with writing about the passage and teacher
feedback, students will begin to appreciate investigative journalism, as... Show more content on

Students might be afforded the opportunity to rewrite their essays or revise their in class
paraphrases after participating in classroom discussion, allowing them to refashion both their
understanding of the text and their expression of that understanding. Text Selection: This
selection, taken from the young readers edition of Pollan s bestseller, The Omnivore s
Dilemma, asks students to consider how their food is grown today and why and how that has
changed. This brief history and science of United States farm ecology offers students diverse
opportunities for exploration and close reading. Outline of Lesson Plan: This lesson can be
divided by the teacher into two days of instruction and reflection on the part of students and their
teachers, with the option of a written homework assignment after Day 1 and the possibility of
adding an additional day devoted to peer review and revision of the culminating writing
assignment. Standards Addressed: The following Common Core State Standards are the focus of

Levels of Decision Making
There are three levels of decision making within a business:
Strategic
Strategic decisions are made at a high level, for example, CEO or owners. These decisions are long
term and will affect the future direction of Ice Queen. These decisions may occur once the company
has conducted a SWOT Analysis to look at their strengths (internal), weaknesses (internal),
opportunities (external) and threats (external). Once Ice Queen has evaluated these, they can then
begin to make strategic choices to improve on these results. These choices maybe to explore other
products, mergers or expansion of the company.
External
There are PESTEL factors that can influence the implementation of a strategic decision. The
Economic factor that can influence the strategic decision is the demand for frozen food products.

The Ceo Of Procter And Gamble
1)Identify the CEO and characterize his leadership style. The CEO of Procter and Gamble is
Alan G. Lafley. Mr. Lafley had recently retired from the company in 2009 after being CEO for
10 years. After only three years, P G s new CEO Robert McDonald resigned because of declining
sales and the complaints of investors. Thus, bringing back Alan Lafley to try and bring the
company back to stability. His type of leadership style is one with high expectations of everyone
within the company. He is a leader that also relies a lot on his manager s input for the
development of new ideas for the company. As the Wall Street Journal reported, he more than
doubled sales to nearly $84 billion while CEO of P G, partially through smart acquisitions like
Gillette and other premium and beauty brands (DuBose). 2)Determine the main countries in
which the company competes and its global strategy. Two of the main countries in which Procter
and Gamble compete in are China and Brazil. China has been the number one or two country for
the company for many years. China just continues to grow and has 10 running factories for P G.
Since only 2009, China has had a 63.3% sales growth (Coolidge). Beauty and personal care
products report for nearly two thirds of Chinas sales. Brazil on the other hand has had a 91.9%
sales growth since 2009 (Coolidge). In Brazil, their beauty and personal care products make up
almost three fourths of its total sales. The country in general wants more premium priced

Importance of Accountability in the Army Essay
Accountability is important, because without it, there s no where to place the blame when mistakes
occur. In fact, accountability covers more than just blameworthiness; responsibility, answerability,
and liability also come into question when discussing the importance of accountability. The very
application of the word, describes a system, in which actions, decisions, and policies are all
accounted for (or: kept track of, recorded, and assessed and evaluated). Accountability can even
extend into the administration of new policies, that are rendered due to obsolete rules and
regulations or just out right compliancy issues; the governance of decisions that define
expectations or verify one s performance as well as managing and guiding... Show more content on

You can t define the importance of accountability, without bringing up the topic of counting. What
do you think accounting is? Calculating those very elements, that you or someone else counted and
then recorded, and interpreting the results from those variables (the ones you counted in order to
assign a numerical value). The process goes as such: counting the number of elements (or objects,
such as people, equipment, etc.), recording the value of those elements recieved from the count
method, classifying those numbers into their respective variables, operating on those variables in
different ways to simulate different scenarios or events, summarizing the significance of each
calculation, and interpreting the results of these mathematical processes. Now, if I really want to go
in depth with this particular topic, I could discuss the principles of accountancy. Accountancy is
nothing more than the communication of financial information about a business entity to users
such as shareholders and managers. This very process describes the profession and duties of an
accountant, I would like to discuss a prime example of this later on in my essay. The principles of
accountancy are applied to business entities in three divisions of practical art, named accounting,
bookkeeping, and auditing. According to history, early accounts served

appearance that is socially challenged or condemned because it departs from the norms and
expectations of a group (154) b. Deviant is relative because an act may be considered as deviant
when a large number of people contempt it. Under the right circumstances and depending on the
culture and time, any behavior may become a deviant. c. During China s Cultural Revolution,

a. In the US, if an individual uses a high toned to talk, that person is considered to be aggressive

when a customer forgot to pay her meal. A worker came toward me and used Vietnamese to tell
me about this norm. He was born in the US, therefore, he knows about these unwritten rules. At
the end of the shift, we talked about this accident and he was not surprised at all as he is a

Persuasive Essay On Safe Sidewalk Safety
Is it possible for an athlete who engages in extreme sports such as rock climbing or extreme
terrain mountain biking to sustain broken bones from a sidewalk accident? While this seems
improbable, it can happen because of the person s expectations. When using a sidewalk, it s
natural to assume that it s a perfectly safe activity. Walking on sidewalks is not an extreme sport
and shouldn t require the same intense focus of spotting fall hazards. It s a reasonable
expectation that it s safe to let your guard down. Defective sidewalks are hazardous for everyone
using them. Sidewalks must be safe for all pedestrians including joggers, children, the elderly, and
the disabled. Good sidewalks are essential for delivery workers, who can t always look

My Experience At Connecticut College
When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain point on the floor, it s to enjoy each step
along the way. (Wayne Dwyer) There is no description or analogy more accurate to describe my
experience both watching and performing dance this past semester at Connecticut College. As a
freshman, it was difficult to move forward with dancein a new environment since I have had the
same dance experience for 15 years. I found myself equating movements and steps to styles more
known to me; I was searching for comfort among the abundance of unfamiliarity. The challenge
was to embrace modern dancing for everything it entailed. Through watching both professional
dancers and other students, as well as improving my personal technique, I certainly feel that I have
found a new appreciation for dance. Of all the dance performances this semester, my favorite was
the Department Concert. Even though all of the artists were extraordinary to watch, I was able to
connect with the dancers most during the Department Concert. Watching Connecticut College
students perform gave me a different feeling than the other shows. I could relate to the performers
better because I have had conversations with them outside of dance and they have been there as
mentors to me and the other freshmen. This feeling of inclusion was only possible because of the
atmosphere of the department; everyone, regardless of class year, is genuinely welcomed. I also
believe that seeing students perform the work was

4. What is the problem with sin management theology ?
Sin management theology leads us to believe that we must earn God s love and grace through our

Cat On A Hot Tin Roof Misogynist
The Misogynistic Tendencies of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof by Tennessee Williams
In the play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof there are three main women in the play they include Margaret
(usually called Maggie), Mae and Big Mama. These three women play an intricate roll in the
play but also have to deal with very misogynistic attitudes toward them. The relationships
between almost all of the characters in the play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof has very misogynistic
under tones and overall lack of respect for women. In this essay I will firstly express what the
common role of the women was in the 1950 s. Secondly, I will discuss the misogynistic attitudes
towards the women. And Finally I will discuss the misogynistic attitudes between the women
themselves in this play. During the 1950 s, women had very different roles than they do today.
In the 1950 s one of the main role of the women was bearing children. In the case of Maggie she
was constantly pestered by Big Mama and Big Daddy about not having any children, Big Mama

Importance Of Communication Skills In Leadership
Communication Skills and Effective Leadership
Leaders in an organization must be able to understand employee needs, recognize employee skills,
motivate employees, and communicate with employees. If leaders fail in these areas it can
become difficult to maintain a positive work environment. The issue I will address is that leaders
need to poses strong communication skills in order to be an effective leader.
Effective Leadership
Leadership is not any easy thing and being a good leader is even harder. What makes leaders
effective and sets them apart from being a leader and be and effective leader? These are issues
that come up every day in whatever your line of work is there is leadership. There are some
people that are naturally great at leadership and some people that have to learn how to be and
effective leader. As a leader you are in charge of making sure things run smoothly. There are many
different studies and journals on how and what skills are needed in order to be an effective leader
and one thing that stand out amongst all of these is that communication skills play a huge roll in a
leader effectively leading their team. Whether a team is made up of 1 person or of 500 people if the
leader isn t utilizing their communication skills then the rest of the team is going to struggle with
communication. Without communication things tend to fall apart and tend to make leaders
ineffective.

Mental Health History
ntroduction to the History of Mental Illness Before the advent of technology and the scientific age,
sources of mental illness were found to be the workings of demons, spirits, and the supernatural. In
that first century B.C superstition eventually transformed into some of the first early biological
explanations. Hippocrateswas the first to theorize that mental illness was a disease of the brain.
With the fall of the Roman empire came the Dark Ages in Europe. The churches of Europe gained
massive influence and doctors were replaced with missionaries and faith healers. With the turmoil
of Middle AgesEurope s epidemics, political unrest, and famines a reversion of demonology was

However, there were other ways to ward of mental illness in this innovative society. The Ancient
Egyptians treated mental illness through recreational activities. Such activities were; concerts,
dances, painting, and gardening. The disabled were to engage in activities in order to achieve
some resemblance of normality in their lives, as well as to relive symptoms of their illness such as
erraticness. Knowledge of the human body was also known to this civilization. The advancement
of their technologies included surgeries, and medicine. Through papyri dating back to the sixteenth
century B.C.E , early documents suggest Egyptians were also likely the first to site the brain as the
location of mental functions. Hysteria in women was diagnosed as a biological function of a
wandering uterus fumigation of the vagina was used to recorrect the organ and return it to its
original position. ( INCERT reference)
The early physician and commonly held father of modern medicine Hippocrates was a vocal critic
of demonology. The Physician proposed mental illness stems from natural forces within the body,
principally the brain. If there were disturbances to ones thoughts or actions, the brain was the source

Biological Patents and Their Associated Exploitation There is no patent. Could you patent the sun?
This quote by Jonas Salk, the researcher who invented the polio vaccine in the height of the polio

can grant individuals or small groups of individuals the exclusive rights to the production and use
of biological agents in the form of a patent, the moralityof such patents must be taken into
consideration. David Resnik s adaption of Marx s theories of economic exploitation to a

these patents to various companies and institutions. For A to exploit B, as per Resnik s
definitions, there must exist an A and B. So let A, the exploiting party, be Columbia and let B, the
exploited party, be the academic institutions and the private companies that wish to use the
technique described in the patents to further medicine. A did indeed take an advantage over B
with the advantage being the university discovered the technique before any institutions
discovered that same technique or a technique very similar to what Richard Axel discovered. A
used this advantage of having the discovery first to harm B financially by suing any institution in
B for their use of Axel s techniques without the proper license. So A exploited B. A cannot
morally justify this exploitation because any financial gain A received from exerting control of
their patents gets canceled out by that equal financial loss of B. Furthermore, A does not gain any
productivity from enforcing their exclusive rights to the patents but B loses productivity for
having to apply for the licensing or not being able to attain licensing for the technique so there is a
net loss for A and B. To

Samuel Beckett and Harold Pinter Absurd Influences in Theatre There are a wide variety of
theatrical movements that have occurred over time. One of these includes the theatre of the absurd.
Theater of the absurd refers to the literary movement in drama popular throughout European
countries from the 1940s to approximately 1989. A definition of the term absurdism is referred to a
literary and philosophical movement that flourished after the Second World War and bears a close
relationship to Existentialism. Absurdism s signature attitude is therefore black humor, an
ambiguous mixture of tragic pathos and preposterous comedy, which finds it compelling literary
expression in the work of authors such as Samuel Beckett ( Absurdism 3). In this paper, I will
explore the development of absurdism in two different plays, The Room and Waiting for Godot.
The absurdist type of plays often seek to explore the spiritual loneliness, isolation, and anxiety of
the down and outs of society. Theater of the Absurd are often pointless and contain no
underlying messages. They have been described as moving in a circle with no true plot. The
movement of the absurd commonly refers to the work of a group of dramatists who first emerged
during and after World War II. I have choose to pick a play from Samuel Beckett as well as Harold
Pinter to observe their influence on the movement of absurd theatre.
Absurdist works often

Research that Adapts Information Retrieval Based on a User...
As the number of Internet users and the number of accessible Web pages grows, it is becoming
increasingly difficult for users to find relevant documents to their particular needs. In this paper,
we report on research that adapts information retrieval based on a user profile. Ontology models
are widely used to represent user profiles in personalized web information retrieval. Many models
have utilized only knowledge from either a global knowledge base or a user local information for
representing user profiles. A personalized ontologymodel is used for knowledge representationand
reasoning over user profiles. This model uses ontological user profiles based on both a world
knowledge base and user local instance repositories. It is observed... Show more content on

Many researchers have attempted to discover user background knowledge through global or local
analysis to represent user profiles.
i) Motivation
The basic objective regarding this project is to achieve high performance in web information
retrieval using a personalized ontology model. Most of the times when user searches for some
information with some ideas in mind , It is always the case that he didn t get the information
exactly as he wants in first page . He has to go through different pages until he get the
information exactly as per his concept. The basic idea is to create ontological user profiles from
both a world knowledge base and user local instance repositories in order to have a fast
information retrieval as per the concept model of the user. ii) Existing systems
Commonly used knowledge bases include generic ontologies, thesauruses, and online
knowledge bases. The global analysis produce effective performance for user background
knowledge extraction but it is limited by the quality of the used knowledge base. Local analysis
investigates user local information or observes user behavior in user profiles. Analyzed query
logs to discover user background knowledge is used. Users were provided with a set of
documents and asked for relevance feedback. User background knowledge was then discovered
from this feedback for user profiles. The discovered results may contain noisy and uncertain
information.

Ukiyo-E Japanese Culture
Ukiyo e and its Effects on Japanese and Western Culture
Art is a very important aspect to Japanese culture. It is a visual expression of Japanese culture and
history. Japanese art covers many subjects such as landscapes, historical and fictional stories,
people, and architecture. Throughout Japanese history, one of the most popular genres of Japanese
art were the Ukiyo e, wood block prints. Many artists such as Katsushika Hokusai and Tsukioka
Yoshitoshi became famous creating Ukiyo e artwork. The Ukiyo e genre was not only important for
reflecting Japanese culture, but was central to shaping Western perception of Japanese art and
culture. When Ukiyo e artwork found its way into Western hands in the late 19th century it
flourished amongst the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of the Ukiyo e the people began to fall in love with the Japanese culture. The Westerners
were astounded by quality of work and all of the hard work that goes into each of the prints. The
Ukiyo e artist were not just creating the pictures but also carving wood in great detail in order to
create one coherent print. The Ukiyo e prints brought the westerners into the everyday world of
the Japanese people. They were able to see the world from the eyes of the everyday people in
japan. Ukiyo e reflected the plays and stories in Japan as well as the landscapes and nature of
Japan. They were impressed by the beauty of Japan itself and through Ukiyo e they were able to
see it for their selves. The flat style of the woodblock prints was unique compared to the style of
the Western paintings. Without linear and rising perspective the Ukiyo e prints highlighted certain
aspects of Japanese life. For example in Hokusai s Great Wave the waves off Kanagawa complete
dwarf Mount Fuji. This shows that the Japanese people saw the waves as a great trial when fishing
in the morning. It showed the true struggle that they had to go through each day. The Westerner s
sympathized with images such as this and their perception changed from seeing Japanese art and
culture as inferior to seeing it as beautiful and unique.

Morality Is The Product Of God s Morality
Samuel Pufendorf argues that morality is the product of God s will primarily, and human will
secondly, and is directed at the peaceful organization of humanity. Moral entitities are
metaphysically superadded to physical entitites, so they are dependent on intelligent beings. Moral
obligation, then, is grounded in the command of a superior (human or divine), and commands are
morally compelling due to the dual factors of fear and respect for the just reasons behind them.
Gottfried Leibniz, in contrast, grounds moralityin God s intellect. He offers two major objections to
Pufendorf: first, that he threatens the goodness of God by failing to make justice an attribute he
possesses, and, second, that his argument that justice consists in obeying a superior s command is
circular since a superior has authority in virtue of their just cause. This paper will first detail
Pufendorf s position on moral entitities, the nature of obligation, and moral necessity. Leibniz s
criticisms will then be expounded, and it will be argued that Pufendorf holds intellectualist
commitments complicating the voluntarist aspects of his philosophy. Pufendorf defines moral
entities as those which are imposed onto physical beings to direct and temper the freedom of the
voluntary acts of man, and contribute to the structuring of the universeand betterment of humanity.
Moral entities are dependent, existing only in the physical substances they are superadded to by
beings with intellects.

Francis Ford Coppola s The Conversation
In Francis Ford Coppola s The Conversation (1974), we are introduced to a paranoid audio
surveillance expert named Harry Caul (Gene Hackman). He has been hired by the director
(Robert Duvall) of an unnamed corporation, to record the latter s wife, Ann (Cindy Williams),
and her lover, Mark (Frederic Forrest), while they converse in San Francisco s Union Square.
Harry tries to deliver tapes of the recordings to the Director as planned; however, his assistant
Martin Stett (Harrison Ford) attempts to intercept them, so Harry keeps the tapes. While reviewing
them, he hears a line that he missed before: He d kill us if he got the chance (The Conversation).
He is convinced that the Director will harm the couple. The next day, Harry attends a national...

This is a critical part of the argument that shows the beginning of Harry s obsession with
blaming himself for deaths while attempting to distance himself from the actions that caused
them. While technological and psychological aspects addressed by Denzin and Albrechtslund
are relevant to studying Harry s character, their arguments for why he goes crazy are incomplete,
each lacking the other. Denzin over simplifies the cause by focusing too narrowly on the effects
of technology and both critics ignore the importance of Harry s past. Combining these
arguments as well as analyzing critical elements of Harry s past will give us a better
understanding of Harry. I will discuss Harry s dream, the conversation at the office party, and the
effect of the Director s death on Harry s mental state to gain a more complete study of Harry s
character and why he goes

After several years of seeing more money pumped into internal audit in response to the
requirements of Sarbanes Oxley, management is now looking to trim the budget. Internal audit s
oversight went far beyond SOX, but because SOX dominated corporate priorities in recent years,
audit teams were staffed accordingly with many junior, box checking resources. But now, many
audit teams are finding themselves exposed, lacking the skills required to deal with contemporary
business risks. The number and variety of business risks and related controls that IA needs to
assess, monitor and report on has grown exponentially in just a few years. Risks related to the
supply chain, treasury and financial instruments, fraud, systems, privacy, emerging markets,
strained economic conditions, corporate responsibility, regulation, subprime exposure and liquidity
are just some of the new, niche risks which have emerged and can require highly specialized
auditing skills. At the same time, more and more companies are expecting their IA teams to create
value rather than just preserve it. With pressure mounting to deliver more while paying less and to
come to terms with skills gaps, IA is undoubtedly at a crossroads in its evolution. Having the
capability to deal with today s business risks requires a significant level of investment in skilled
resources, methods, training, career paths and technical infrastructure. Maintaining that capability
requires a sustained level of

Developing A New Product Development
The Key to Success or Failure in Developing a New Product
Introduction
In the sustainable growth strategies of businesses, new product development plays an important
role increasingly. Many successful firms stay ahead of the competitors by creating innovations in
order to avoid a reduction in their sales and profits. Despite these extremely exertions of companies,
many new products cannot become successful in the marketplace and businesses become suffering
from their failures. The common mistakes are eventually repeated by several careless companies.
Thus, this article will expose some of the main reasons for these failures and suggest some
productive approaches to succeed in a new product. The overall structure of the paper takes the
form of four parts, including this introductory section. The second part begins by presenting the
causes why many new products fail, focusing on the three key themes as follows: market
orientation, planning and timing. Subsequently, it proposes the methods and critical factors to
pursue the goal of winning in new product development. The paper ends with a conclusion in the
last section. Common Reasons for New Product Failure
To begin with, there are some of the mistakes leading to new product failure which should be learnt
from and avoided in the future. Cooper (2001) claims that one of these deficiencies is a market
orientation of the new product. Inadequate concentration on the marketplace, misunderstanding of
real client requirements and

Social Pressures Reflected in Ginsberg s Howl Essay
Social Pressures Reflected in Ginsberg s Howl
Post World War II America produced a number of images that will be forever imprinted on the
minds of Americans. Such images as television shows like Leave It To Beaver and I Love Lucy,
movies such as An Affair To Remember, and Brigadoon, are watched frequently even in today s
society. But in this world of fairytale movies and the American Dream, what about those who didn t
fit into the picture of perfection and prosperity? These men became the basis of an underground
network of dissident writers, teachers, artists and filmmakers. Often a reaction against the strict
standards of normalcy held by the American public and the bureaucracy of the government, their
work not only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Such is the same in Howl.
Ginsberg does not spare the innocent reader. When one analyzes the social power of Ginsberg s
statements, one can come easily to the conclusion that society was not exactly welcoming to
Ginsberg, and he reacted to that through his writing, especially in Howl.
The second portion of Howl is commonly considered by critics to be the most complicated for
the average mind to comprehend. In this section, nearly every thing is described as a Moloch.
Moloch, in mythology was a God to whom children were sacrificed. Now, the term is commonly
used to describe anything responsible for destroying innocence. In Part II, Ginsberg describes
nearly everything about American culture to be a Moloch. Even society s viewpoints are Molochs.
In a way, Ginsberg is calling America itself a Moloch, and then continuing to describe parts of the
whole.
Moloch whose mind is pure machinery! Moloch whose blood is running money! Moloch whose
fingers are ten armies! Moloch whose breast is a cannibal dynamo! Moloch whose ear is a smoking
tomb! (Ginsberg 21)
America is evil to Ginsberg because of the feelings of hatred and repulsion the society builds in him.
The third section of Howl is a striking contrast to the other two parts.

My Journey To Achieve The American Dream
At the age of three, I moved to El Salvador with my mom and siblings. Many people remember
going to Disney or traveling with their parents as children but I remember earthquakes,
gunshots, and poverty. My family and I lived in constant fear for our safety. There were also
some cheerful memories like being a baton twirler in the Independence Day parades. I will never
forget going to the beach on holidays and spending lots of summers picking coffee beans in my
grandfather s field. At the age of 8, we moved back to the United States in hope for a better life
and in search to achieve the American dream. I am now 20 years old and a college student. I
would have never imagined myself saying that out loud. I would not be here if it weren t for the...

volunteer work outside of school. I had the privilege of giving a speech at the 2016
Race4Respect Down syndrome awareness race. I was proud of myself for this particular
accomplishment because I was given the opportunity to share how my experience with the
Special Olympics Joy Cheerleading team not only inspired my future career path but also
helped me view the world in a whole new perspective. I have always wanted to advocate for
others in hope that one day I would make a change and this opportunity allowed me to make a
change in my life and in the lives of others. My passion since that day has been to become a
teacher that supports and impacts students beyond the classroom whether they have a disability or
not. As for my future plans, I hope to attend the University of Maryland in the fall and continue my
studies in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. In the next two years, I plan to earn
my bachelor s degree in teaching and hopefully become a kindergarten teacher. The pressure to be
my best has always been self imposed. I hold myself to high standards and expect nothing but the

But certainly, some places are better for certain approaches as others.
A honeypot can be used on the Internet as well as the intranet, based on the needed service.
Placing a honeypot on the intranet can be useful if the detection of some bad guys inside a private
network is wished. It is especially important to set the internal thrust for a honeypot as low as
possible as this system could be compromised, probably without immediate knowledge.
Honey Pots can be setup inside, outside or in the DMZ of a firewall design or even in all of the
locations although they are most often deployed inside of a firewall for control purposes. In a
sense, they are variants of standard Intruder Detection Systems (IDS) but with more of a focus on
information gathering and deception. If the main concern is the Internet, a honeypot can be placed
at two locations:
In front of the firewall (Internet)
DMZ
Behind the firewall (intranet) Each approach has its advantages as well as disadvantages.
Sometimes it is even impossible to choose freely as placing a server in front of a firewall is simply
not possible or not

  • 2. The Debate On Gay Marriage A recent Supreme Court decision ruling that homosexual couples were, by law, allowed to marry sparked great debate when made public. Advocates for same love rejoiced, painting profile pictures in the colors of the rainbow and crying out that reform was attainable. On the flip side, opponents mourned the direction the nation was facing, firing back on social media with firm viewpoints but little else. For its highly controversial standing, the debate on gay marriage brings to light a question buried beneath the subject. How does the individual determine right from wrong? It would seem that a person s moralityis predetermined, but has the ability to change when external influences act upon it. When injustices arise, the person, based on his or her conscience, will step in and take action to right the wrong. A person s conscience points the way in his or her life, guiding where to go, what to do, and how to speak. This conscience is a pre instilled set of morals that directs how an individual feels on a certain subject and whether it is right or wrong. The Grapes of Wrath, written by John Steinbeck, makes good note of this natural inclination, saying that people knew of the right to talk and to listen (265). The migrant families knew automatically what was acceptable and what was inappropriate. By nature, the migrants instinctively knew where to step and how to interact. In an earlier chapter, good conscience is also exhibited when Mae, a waitress, sells candy to a few ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Homelessness Is A Serious Social Problem Homelessness in America has been a considered a serious social problem for at least thirty to forty years, affecting thousands upon thousands of people in all regions of the country. The individuals and families that make up the homeless population face struggles every day that many of us may never even experience in our entire lives. There are many factors that either contribute to or directly cause homelessness. Unfortunately, many people in our society believe that homelessness is a personal problem and should be up to the individual to fix. However, homelessness is actually a very serious social problem that we all need to be concerned about and work together to bring it to an end. The American society is so accustomed to labeling each other just by looks, clothing, and other material goods. Power, wealth, and prestige seem to be the only things that many people want to live for, and those people do not attempt to put themselves in other peoples shoes, especially not the shoes of a homeless person. This is a terrible habit that has been such a huge part of our society for so long that a lot of people do not even see the problem with it. They may not even realize how wrong and terrible it is to label someone just by their looks or their life situation. But since we have done it for hundreds of years, we all continue to do it and see no problem with it. Many people in our society label homeless people as lazy, unmotivated, and even less intelligent than themselves just ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Analysis Of Francesco Petrach s The Ascent Of Mont Ventoux The beginning of the Renaissance brought many changes to the world. It became known as the Age of Exploration and it brought in a new perspective on art. This perspective on art is shown through anything from visual arts to literary art. This time period also introduced the rise of humanism. It brought into the picture a very optimistic view of humanity. This was shown especially in the work The Ascent of Mont Ventouxby Francesco Petrarch. This work refers back to Book X of Confessions by Saint Augustine when Petrarch reaches the top of the mountain. Although they are both dealing with the same passage, Petrarch and Augustine seem to interpret it in very different ways. Petrarch wrote the Ascent of Mont Ventoux as a young man. It is a letter to his former confessor, Dionigi di Borgo San Sepolcro, because he was in seminary school. The letter is essentially a travel journal about his journey up Mont Ventoux. Petrarch initially wanted to take this journey with his friends, but they either refused or were not up to his standards. He decide to just climb the mountain with his brother. At the beginning of the journey, Petrarch writes about his encounter with an old, cranky man in the foothills of the mountain. The man pretty much tells them that it is a dumb idea which just encourages them to finish the journey even more. They eventually reach the top of the mountain a few days later. At the top, Petrarch pulls out his copy of Confessions and reads a small portion. He ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Implementation of RtI in schools is crucial to identify which students need additional intervention that will help increase their literacy skills, and prevent them from falling behind. RtI is based off multi leveled tiers that are each categorized by the intensity of the intervention that is being used. If the appropriate progress is not made by a student in Tier III in a timely matter, the next step would be to test the student for any learning disabilities that are hindering their literacy skills. RtI works at its best when personal from across the school, including administrators, general education teachers, special education teachers, supplemental specialists, music and gym teachers, and counselors all collaborate to support the framework, because each staff member shares equal responsibility for the success and failure of all students (Shapiro 2011). RtI needs the full support of all staff members, because it does not show immediate results and could take between 3 5 years to see its positive impact. RtI gives schools the chance to correct literacy issues, and fix the problem early, before students progress forward where they pay for it long into their future. RtI also helps implement behavioral interventions in the classroom through a similar process called Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS is based on a problem solving model and aims to prevent inappropriate behavior through teaching and reinforcing appropriate behaviors (Sandomierski, Kincaid Algozzine, 2007). FDR wants the people of the United States to know that they do not deserve to be walked on, which is why it is logical to fight back. After FDR told the audience that we did nothing to provoke this attack, he then let the audience know that Yesterday, the Japanese government also launched an attack against Malaya. These were Duke s early 90 s teams of Grant Hill, Bobby Hurley, and Christian Laettner, and Florida s 2006 2007 teams of Joakim Noah, Al Horford, and Corey Brewer, meaning the Wildcats have joined elite company. Once known as a top team during the regular season who would flame out in March, Jay Wright s most recent teams have shattered that belief. Villanova has always prided itself on continuity and developing players within their system. In the era of one and done basketball, where over 200 underclassmen have declared for the NBA Draft in the last five years, Villanova has been largely immune. Although they lost four underclassmen this year, including National Player of the Year Jalen Brunson, Villanova is perfectly positioned for another title run. But Jay Wright has dealt with this before. Jalen Brunson went from a 9.6 PPG player as a freshman to almost 19 as a junior. Donte Divincenzo had an 11 PPG uptick in only 2 years as well. Even when it seems as if Villanova is in trouble, the next man always steps up and produces for Wright s team. And Booth and Paschall are not alone. • 18. Francis Bacon as Shakespeare Francis Bacon as Shakespeare For almost four hundred years the question of who truly wrote the works attributed to William Shakespeare has been studied meticulously by many scholars and historians. There have been many well qualified contenders, including Sir Francis Bacon. Because of the incredible number of coincidences between Shakespeare and Bacon, it is obvious that Bacon wrote Shakespeare. Firstly, the actor William Shakespeare, who is the supposed author of Shakespeare s works, could not have written them. He had no formal education after thirteen, was from a small provincial town, was a professional actor, had two daughters who were illiterate, didn t mention any of his works in his will, and whose only surviving handwriting is six signatures on legal documents (Rubenstein 69). Shakespeare is considered one of the greatest authors in history, and without a formal education the intricacy of his work would be impossible. It should also be put in consideration that many of Shakespeare s works were not only published but edited after his death. From the publication of The Taming of the Shrew in 1594 to the publication of the First Folio in 1623, 4,936 new lines were added to the plays, a majority of which were added posthumously (sirbacon). This in itself is evidence enough to disprove Shakespeare entirely. Unlike William Shakespeare, Sir Francis Bacon was very well qualified to have written Shakespeare s works. Air pollution is the serious global threat which is increasing continuously and the ground level concentration of ozone is major problem in present and also in future. Presents projected average daily 8 h maximum ozonelevels for future using the raw and calibrated climate model outputs. The 95% projections intervals accounts for uncertainties in the associations between daily ozone levels, and daily meteorology and precursors level. The number of exceedance days during the historical period was 34 per year. Calibrated climate simulations projected an increase in the number of exceedance days ranging from 2.6 to 8.3 (7% to 24%) with mean 2.8 (8.3%) per year between 2041 2070 and 1999 2004. The impacts of ozone on human health are associated with short term acute effects on the respiratory system, skin, lungs, chronic disease and death. The cellular and biochemical changes in the alveolar region of the lung can also be measured in humans exposed to low levels of ozone. The data presented here demonstrate that extended exposure of humans to levels of ozone as low as 0.08 ppm results in inflammation and damage in alveolar region of the lung. These levels are at or below the current standard, since the present hourly ozone standard of 0.12 ppm translates roughly into 0.1 ppm over 8 h (38). From a baby s first word to their first complete sentence, there s a lot to debate with their language development. The average child has a vocabulary of up to six thousand words by the time they turn five years old (Brighthubcom, 2016). Language development is one of the most critical roles for an educator in both early childhood and primary settings. It is this ability of language development that is particularly interesting in the nature vs nurture debate. In order for educators to provide effective communication, it is important that they have the knowledge and understanding of the four key concepts of language, such as phonological, syntactic, semantic and pragmatic development and the underlying theoretical perspectives that explain the processes of language acquisition and development. Nature or, in other words, heredity refers to traits that are inherited or genetic. Linguist Noam Chomsky is a strong advocate of this perspective. He has spent a lot of time on evolving a theory of grammar that is called universal grammar. Chomsky believed that language is innate, or in other words we are born with a capacity for language. Chomsky suspected there is an optimal learning age, between the ages of 3 to 10 where a child is the most likely to learn a language in its entirety and grasp fluency. The child does not need a prompt to begin language acquisition, it happens on its own. If a child is around ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Calculating those very elements, that you or someone else counted and then recorded, and interpreting the results from those variables (the ones you counted in order to assign a numerical value). The challenge was to embrace modern dancing for everything it entailed. Of all the dance performances this semester, my favorite was the Department Concert. Even though all of the artists were extraordinary to watch, I was able to connect with the dancers most during the Department Concert. Watching Connecticut College students perform gave me a different feeling than the other shows. Mental Health History ntroduction to the History of Mental Illness Before the advent of technology and the scientific age, sources of mental illness were found to be the workings of demons, spirits, and the supernatural. In that first century B.C superstition eventually transformed into some of the first early biological explanations. Hippocrateswas the first to theorize that mental illness was a disease of the brain. With the fall of the Roman empire came the Dark Ages in Europe. The churches of Europe gained massive influence and doctors were replaced with missionaries and faith healers. The Ancient Egyptians treated mental illness through recreational activities. Such activities were; concerts, dances, painting, and gardening. The disabled were to engage in activities in order to achieve some resemblance of normality in their lives, as well as to relive symptoms of their illness such as erraticness. Knowledge of the human body was also known to this civilization. The advancement of their technologies included surgeries, and medicine. Through papyri dating back to the sixteenth century B.C.E , early documents suggest Egyptians were also likely the first to site the brain as the location of mental functions. Hysteria in women was diagnosed as a biological function of a wandering uterus fumigation of the vagina was used to recorrect the organ and return it to its original position. ( INCERT reference) The early physician and commonly held father of modern medicine Hippocrates was a vocal critic of demonology. • 41. Biological Patents And Their Associated Exploitation Biological Patents and Their Associated Exploitation There is no patent. Could you patent the sun? This quote by Jonas Salk, the researcher who invented the polio vaccine in the height of the polio scare, demonstrates the natural resistance people have to patents on biological agents. If society can grant individuals or small groups of individuals the exclusive rights to the production and use of biological agents in the form of a patent, the moralityof such patents must be taken into consideration. David Resnik s adaption of Marx s theories of economic exploitation to a biomedical setting can be used to determine whether biological patents are moral. Together, they granted Columbia Universitythe exclusive rights to an important technique in biotechnology and pharmacology which, allows foreign DNA to be inserted into a host cell to produce certain proteins . The university earned almost $800 million through the licensing of these patents to various companies and institutions. For A to exploit B, as per Resnik s definitions, there must exist an A and B. So let A, the exploiting party, be Columbia and let B, the exploited party, be the academic institutions and the private companies that wish to use the technique described in the patents to further medicine. A did indeed take an advantage over B with the advantage being the university discovered the technique before any institutions discovered that same technique or a technique very similar to what Richard Axel discovered. A used this advantage of having the discovery first to harm B financially by suing any institution in B for their use of Axel s techniques without the proper license. So A exploited B. A cannot morally justify this exploitation because any financial gain A received from exerting control of their patents gets canceled out by that equal financial loss of B. Furthermore, A does not gain any productivity from enforcing their exclusive rights to the patents but B loses productivity for having to apply for the licensing or not being able to attain licensing for the technique so there is a net loss for A and B. • 43. Summary Of The Room And Waiting For Godot Laurin Neely Professor Matthew Byrge English 2030 14 22 September 2015 Samuel Beckett and Harold Pinter Absurd Influences in Theatre There are a wide variety of theatrical movements that have occurred over time. One of these includes the theatre of the absurd. Theater of the absurd refers to the literary movement in drama popular throughout European countries from the 1940s to approximately 1989. A definition of the term absurdism is referred to a literary and philosophical movement that flourished after the Second World War and bears a close relationship to Existentialism. Absurdism s signature attitude is therefore black humor, an ambiguous mixture of tragic pathos and preposterous comedy, which finds it compelling literary expression in the work of authors such as Samuel Beckett ( Absurdism 3). In this paper, I will explore the development of absurdism in two different plays, The Room and Waiting for Godot. The absurdist type of plays often seek to explore the spiritual loneliness, isolation, and anxiety of the down and outs of society. Theater of the Absurd are often pointless and contain no underlying messages. They have been described as moving in a circle with no true plot. The movement of the absurd commonly refers to the work of a group of dramatists who first emerged during and after World War II. I have choose to pick a play from Samuel Beckett as well as Harold Pinter to observe their influence on the movement of absurd theatre. Absurdist works often ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He has to go through different pages until he get the information exactly as per his concept. The Ukiyo e prints brought the westerners into the everyday world of the Japanese people. They were able to see the world from the eyes of the everyday people in japan. Ukiyo e reflected the plays and stories in Japan as well as the landscapes and nature of Japan. They were impressed by the beauty of Japan itself and through Ukiyo e they were able to see it for their selves. The flat style of the woodblock prints was unique compared to the style of the Western paintings. Without linear and rising perspective the Ukiyo e prints highlighted certain aspects of Japanese life. For example in Hokusai s Great Wave the waves off Kanagawa complete dwarf Mount Fuji. This shows that the Japanese people saw the waves as a great trial when fishing in the morning. It showed the true struggle that they had to go through each day. The Westerner s sympathized with images such as this and their perception changed from seeing Japanese art and culture as inferior to seeing it as beautiful and unique. ... • 46. Morality Is The Product Of God s Morality Samuel Pufendorf argues that morality is the product of God s will primarily, and human will secondly, and is directed at the peaceful organization of humanity. Moral entitities are metaphysically superadded to physical entitites, so they are dependent on intelligent beings. Moral obligation, then, is grounded in the command of a superior (human or divine), and commands are morally compelling due to the dual factors of fear and respect for the just reasons behind them. Gottfried Leibniz, in contrast, grounds moralityin God s intellect. He offers two major objections to Pufendorf: first, that he threatens the goodness of God by failing to make justice an attribute he possesses, and, second, that his argument that justice consists in obeying a superior s command is circular since a superior has authority in virtue of their just cause. This paper will first detail Pufendorf s position on moral entitities, the nature of obligation, and moral necessity. Leibniz s criticisms will then be expounded, and it will be argued that Pufendorf holds intellectualist commitments complicating the voluntarist aspects of his philosophy. Pufendorf defines moral entities as those which are imposed onto physical beings to direct and temper the freedom of the voluntary acts of man, and contribute to the structuring of the universeand betterment of humanity. Moral entities are dependent, existing only in the physical substances they are superadded to by beings with intellects. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The second portion of Howl is commonly considered by critics to be the most complicated for the average mind to comprehend. In this section, nearly every thing is described as a Moloch. Moloch, in mythology was a God to whom children were sacrificed. Now, the term is commonly used to describe anything responsible for destroying innocence.
