Theatre Of Absurd Essay
After the Second World War, the people have suffered from corruption, frustration, and injustices that
lead them to prefer to isolate life alone. They have felt that life has lost its meaning and it becomes
useless. All that force them to be more aggressive and angry. All the political, economic and social
conditions at that time have forced people to feel lost. This feeling of loss makes group of playwrights
to create the Theater of Absurd.
The Theater of Absurd reflects the feeling of loneliness and isolation of people. The playwrights aim
to use meaningless plot, repetition, foolish dialogues, and absurd language to present the suffering of
people. All of their characteristics and techniques are new, as they revolt against all traditional forms

To be accurate, drama of anger has not begun in certain time or place. Any kind of violence, cruelty,
frustration or injustice can lead to produce anger.
This paper will give more attention to anger in twentieth century, especially in the period that follows
the Second World War which is called The Absurd . It is actually has begun in 1960.
The term The Theater of Absurd is coined by Martin Esslin (1918 2002), critic, to describe the theater
that is created by some European and American playwrights who has appeared in the of late1950s and
the early of 1960s such as Samuel Beckett (1906 89), Arthur Adamove (1908 1970), Harold Pinter
(1930 2008), and Edward Albee (1928 ).
Through this term, Esslin tries to show the sense of loss and uselessness of existence in the world
which the post war dramatists have felt. This movement known as The Theater of Absurd is not an
organized movement and has not any clear cut agenda Each of the main playwrights has developed
his/her style independently. Moreover, Esslin states that absurd originally means out of harmony (18

Falls Prevention Case Study
Everybody know a family member or a friend who has fallen either at home, in the hospital, or in the
street. Falls can cause dangerous side effects to the elderly population and can make them loose their
independence overtime. Falls are commonly defined as inadvertently coming to rest on the ground,
floor or other lower level, excluding intentional change in position to rest in furniture, wall or other
objects (World Health Organization, 2017). Certain falls need an immediate medical attention and
intervention to prevent further complications. Preventing falls and injuries should be everyone s high
priority to help elderly feel and stay safe from the threat and the danger of falling.

The hospital can implement a survey to find out how much the employees know about interventions
and preventions of falls and injury risk and develop a culture that make all staff members feel
encouraged to take actions like addressing spills and malfunctioning equipment in a timely manner.
According to Grant, McEnerney, and Proctor (2013), reviewing falls risk assessment, giving staff
additional falls prevention training, using alarms and monitors, providing patients with yellow fall
alert bands, providing more additional staff in the unit resulted in a huge improvement in reducing
falls total number of falls went from 277 during 2010 2011 period to 248 during 2011 2012 period and
Falls with harm went from 42 during 2010 2011 period to 18 during 2012 2013 period. A continues
comprehensive training and education sessions for nurses and staff to enhance knowledge about
certain assessment is crucial and can help decrease fall risks and injuries among hospitalized patients
aged 60 and older. One study suggested that nurses utilize a screening process that is easy to use and
implement at any setting. The Ashen Fall Prevention Scale is a combination of a simple questionnaire
and a safe quick balance tool which help the nurse or any healthcare provider to identify whether a
balance issue exists or not (Pape, Schemmann, Foerster, Knobe, 2015). This scale will also help
identify the specific factors contributing to falls vision or hearing impairment, medication, certain
diseases... , which can assist the nurse to come up with a particular prevention strategies specific to
each situation. It is important to use evidence based fall prevention strategies such as the Ashen Fall
Prevention Scale to reduce the incidence of falls among elderly. On the other hand, it is vital to have a
yearly evaluation to assess the learned skills

Attic Black-Figure Column Krater
The Attic Black Figure Column Krater depicts Dionysos the Wine God surrounded by various Satyrs
and Maenads. The Satyrs and Maenads appear to be performing some kind of dance ritual, with
Dionysos standing center. Dionysos, holding a drinking appeared rather relaxed compared to the
others in the scene, it almost appears as if he was smiling at the Satyrs and Maenads. Ultimately, the
subject matter of the painting on the vase showcases a joyous ritual with Dionysus and his follower
Satyrs and Maenads. The subject matter of this vase infers that the Athenians were a festive people
that enjoyed dance and wine. The overall nature of the scene feels festive, with the Satyrs and
Maenads dancing around a relaxed Dionysus. Secondly, Dionysus ... Show more content on

First, the Satyrs have animal like features such as their tails, and horse like legs. On the other hand, the
woman have paperwhite skin and black marking on their body that resembles a tattoo. Lastly,
Dionysus drinking horn is symbolic his status as the God of Wine, while his ivy leaf crown represents
his immortality. Since the picture depicts Dionysos the God of Wine, I speculate this scene is meant to
celebrate the act of drinking. Next, the Satyrs erect penis hints at the sexual tension amongst the
characters. Lastly, after further examination it became subtly apparent that the first three characters on
the left side of the vase were not fully engaged in the ritual, the Maenad is facing left towards the two
Satyrs on the left unlike the rest of the figures. The realistic nature of the painting, infers that
Dionysus and his band of Maenads and Satyrs shared similar characteristics to humans. Next, the
colors used on this column krater distinguish the identity of each character. For instance, the Satyrs
were all pitch black, the Maenads were white with a myriad of black lies, and Dionysus had a brown
skin tone. Lastly, the wide array of heart shaped vine leaves emphatically conveys that the Column
krater was used for

A Short Note On Diabetic Retinopathy ( Dr ) Is The Most...
Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the most common cause of vision loss in working aged individuals in
developed countries. Diabetic macular edema (DME) is the main cause of decreased vision in diabetic
retinopathy [1]. It was shown that the 10 year cumulative incidence of diabetic macular edema was
20.1% in type 1 diabetes and 25.4% in patients with type 2 diabetes treated with insulin [2]. The
management of DME includes strict glycemic and blood pressure control [3 5]. Argon laser treatment
for clinically significant macular edema (CSME) has been the mainstay treatment according to the
Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study (ETDRS) study that demonstrated a 50% reduction in
moderate visual loss following focal laser photocoagulation [6,7].
The conventional Argon laser treatment is associated with heat to the surrounding tissues such as the
neurosensory retina and the choroid leading to collateral thermal damage. The greyish endpoint of a
laser burn means that the temperature is high enough to change the transparency of the retina [8].
Possible side effects of conventional macular laser photocoagulation include visual loss due to
accidental foveal photocoagulation, pre and sub retinal fibrosis, choroidal neovascularization, visual
field scotomas, decreased color vision and progressive expansion of the laser scars into the fovea [9
12].
Conventional laser photocoagulation produces a continuous wave laser output. On the other hand

Analysis of Article The Go-Nowhere Generation
In the article The Go Nowhere Generation, the Buchholzes argue that the present generation of youths
has taken a turn for the worse, losing the sense of spirit that were once synonymous with people of
their age and settling for meager jobs in their hometowns instead. The target audience of The Go
Nowhere Generation is educated older adults and parents, who are most likely to share the authors
views. The authors implement a series of comparisons, which include statistics and descriptions,
between the past and present generation of young adults to illustrate their position. However, though
the authors make several valid points that are supported by solid evidence, the article falls short of
being truly convincing due to its narrow views ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Buchholzes use data skillfully to show the downfall of the young person.
The authors extend the comparisons using descriptions and adjectives. The past generation of youths
was made up of go getters eager to hit the road and find freedom ; they were even the inspiration for
Bruce Springsteen s vivacious album, Born to Run. The authors claim that today s youths are far from
that, holding nothing back as they describe the young people of this generation. Risk averse and
sedentary, they don t bother to get their driver s licenses, are satisfied to be at home browsing
Facebook, and put too much faith in luck than effort. In other words, Generation Y has become
Generation Why Bother. The authors appeal to the audience s sense of patriotism, stating that
American is a nation of movers and shakers and enumerating the accounts of bravery shown by the
youths of previous generations, images that are admittedly different from the image they have crafted
of the modern young person. The praises and favorable descriptions that the authors lavish upon
previous generations of youths contrast sharply with the lackluster and borderline insulting
descriptions of today s young adults. The juxtapositions accentuate how far Generation Y has fallen
from its predecessors and prove, once again, that its constituents are leading stagnant lives. Even
though the authors have valid points and cite credible sources, their argument fails to be effective in
several ways. For one,

Cybercrime And The World Of Cybercrime Essay
In today s world, people have become very used to using high technology in the 21st century such as
computers, smartphones, and recently, smart watches. This technology is so common that many
people rely on their devices just to perform some basic tasks for some of the most common jobs. In
fact, these devices also help people stay in contact with one another. While this new age of technology
has brought along many great innovations and made the lives of many people a lot easier, it has also
opened up the world of cybercrime. Cybercrime is particularly dangerous because it is significantly
more difficult for a criminal to get caught due to the fact that they may be all the way on the other side
of the globe. The most common cybercrimes that people will hear of is identity theft and credit card
scams because those crimes are among the most difficult to solve and the criminals usually have
multiple victims. The worst part is that there are not enough people studying computer science or any
other science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) major let alone graduating with said major.
People want to have a sense of security and keep their most sensitive information private which would
mean making computers more secure and teaching people about the basics of online safety. There
have been many innovations in cybersecurity to better protect people s information by encryption.
Encryption is the process of encoding information in such a way that only the authorized user can

Sustainability And Corporate Social Responsibility
Sustainability and corporate social responsibility indicate the desire of an organization as a responsible
citizen to give back to the society through initiatives that seek to better the lives of the people and
generally, leaving the world a better place to live. As a global leader in the coffee restaurant business,
the size of Starbucks and its activities mean that it wields a lot of power in its areas of operation and
its activities can affect societies directly and indirectly. The company s mission, vision, and objectives
guides the company s quest for sustainability and supports the corporate social responsibility activities
and programs that Starbucks undertakes.
Starbucks sustainability and corporate social responsibility is focused on three key areas, which
include community, ethical sourcing and the environment. At the community level, the company
understands that its activities have the capacity to influence positively or negatively on the lives of the
communities where it has its activities, whether at the retail level, or at the raw material production
level of farmers. At the community level, the company strives to ensure better lives for the people
through education support program, bringing people together and providing employment opportunities
for people of all ages. These activities are important in supporting and making a difference in people s
lives. For instance, the company works closely with farming communities to not only ensure that the

Reflection About Witchcraft
About This Book
Many of us move to Witchcraft from some type of Judeo Christian history. It was the Us vs. Them
attitude that a lot of Christians have. Those Christians think that you are either with them, or you are
just wrong.
If what you are used to is less combative, you are acquainted with being part of the Flock . Everybody
in that specific congregation believes the same identical thing.
We are all individuals. No two people are exactly identically and the thought that we all must have the
same identical beliefs is flawed.
In Witchcraft, we know that because we each are unique. We all have unique life events. It s
impossible for any two individuals to have the exact same values and beliefs. What may work for me,
may not work for you.
Because most of us come from that one size fits all tradition, we just instinctively presume that
Witchcraft works the same and vice versa.
That s why so many who are going into Witchcraft become frustrated when two books detail the same
perception differently. After of years of studying, reading and practicing Wicca, I m still learning and
reading. I still have all the books I ve every purchased or was given to me which I do go back to every
now and then.
There is always more to learn and sometimes the way one person may say something you may not
understand, while another may say it differently and you get that Ah ha! moment. I want to help you
find that.

The Choices Made Effect The Future
After graduating high school, life actually begins. The choices made effect the future, a big choice to
make is whether to go into the military. The military force closest to civilians is the National Guard.
National Guardsmen and women get benefits that normal civilians don t, but the opposite is also true.
Differences between time, money, and education should be taken into account when deciding a future
in the National Guard. Humans only have so long to live, time wasted is time that cannot be
recaptured, time is a currency that without thriftiness can dwindle into nothing. When someone joins
the National Guard, he/she signs to work for eight years of their life. Depending on the force joined in
the National Guard, the basic training is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Civilians can achieve two Bachelor degrees, if money isn t a problem, in the eight years National
Guard members serve. Since civilians do not hold drills on weekends or go to mandatory meetings
they can hold a job because their schedule is more manageable (National Guard Members Struggle to
Keep Civilian Jobs). Family is less of an issue because civilians are not withheld by a contract to leave
the state by the federal government. All of the factors point that civilians are better equipped to save
time. Civilians might be better in the department of saving time but money is a different story. During
training, National Guard forces are paid as if they are in active duty (What will I get paid). Once the
training is over, the money declines for reserve members, but stays relatively constant for active
members. The pay is around two hundred to three hundred dollars for reserve members, and one
thousand five hundred dollars to two thousand dollars for active members per drill, one weekend a
month (What will I get paid). The pay of the National Guard might not be exciting, but the military
truly shines in the area of education. At a local college, such as Brigham Young University of Idaho, it
would cost around twenty one thousand dollars for schooling (GI Bill Comparison Tool). However,
the National Guard can pay for all of it if the member drills and

Differences Between The Giver Book And Movie
This essay is about comparing the Giver book and movie. The Giver is a story about a boy named
Jonas who was chosen to be the community s next Receiver of Memory. He lived in a community
where everything was chosen for the citizens, and everything was perfect. During Jonas training, he
realized that the community was missing something and that there was more in the world. Jonas
wanted the everybody to know that. The Giver book was then made into a movie. Though the two
were based on the same story, there are three important differences that could ve made them two
separate stories. The three main differences between the book and the movie are Asher and Fiona s

His parents did, and Lily did, and so did all of his group members and friends. But there were a few
exceptions: Jonas himself, and a female Five who he had noticed had the different, lighter eyes, (pg.
20 Lois Lowry). Only those with light eyes would become the next Receiver of Memory, which is
why it was such an important detail. In the Giver movie, it was changed into a birthmark. That
birthmark was shaped like a triangle and in the movie, all Receivers of Memory had them. The third
main difference between The Giver book and the movie was the Chief Elder s role. In the Giver book,
the Chief Elder was not much of an important character, The initial speech at the Ceremony of Twelve
was made by the Chief Elder, the leader of the community who was elected every ten years, (pg. 51
Lois Lowry). However, the Chief Elder played an important role in the Giver movie. In the book, the
Chief spoke in a few chapters during Ceremonies and that was all. The Giver movie s Chief Elder
always watched Jonas closely. She started becoming suspicious of Jonas, and so she would warn Jonas
mother and The Giver. She then found out about Jonas plan to escape. When she did, she ordered
Asher to lose him (The Giver movie). That meant she wanted Asher to kill Jonas. This essay was
about the three main differences between the Giver book and the Giver movie. The first main
difference was talked about in the first body paragraph. That paragraph was about

Mr. Thomas Williams (Tennessee,) was born in Columbus, Mississippi to Cornelius Coffin and
Edwina Dankin Williams, March 26 1911. Thomas family moves to Missouri in 1918, and between
the years of 1929 and 1939 Tennessee attends three different universities. After having written his first
Blanche DuBois scene, from A Streetcar named Desire, in December of 1944, he took a few months
break and wrote his first draft of Summer and Smoke. As a result, the character Alma is seen having a

Eventually, October 6, 1948, interestingly enough, the play opened before it was eventually published
by New Directions on November 17, 1948. Also, Summer and Smoke was re written and published in
1965 under the new title: The Eccentricities of a Nightingale, which was eventually, by Dramatic
Publishing s changed back to Summer and Smoke. Original scenic design was created by Jo Meizner,
who had created a Skeletonized view of John s office, and an equally Victorian view on the right, and,
in between the town square, presided over by the statue of a kneeling Angel (Bordman.) Original stars
of the show included Todd Andrews, as John, and Katherine Balfour, as Alma. The production ran for
only 100 performances, after being constantly compared to and eventually replaced by A Streetcar
named Desire. Part of the reason why critics believe this show was so unsuccessful is because Margo
Jones went about this blind eyed, and only had the guide of Tennessee when she went to visit him,
they
blame the poor outcome of this show on its poor staging and directing.
The London premiere of Summer and smoke opened April of 1952, at Circle and Square Theater,
starring Geraldine Paige and running for 356 performances, clearly this production was much better
received than the opening production in New York. Washington s Arena Stage and the Williamstown

She argues that the trauma in the novel is a way to break barriers and force privileged readers to
understand others. She says that the representation of trauma in the novel makes readers see the effects
of imperialism rather than focusing on politics, making it a personal problem not a political one. The
novel depicts this trauma in a relevant light for global readers. I agree with her, this is not a single
incident and the book does an amazing job to show privileged people that trauma is everywhere, not
just in the past. Literature is sometimes used as a vehicle to tell stories that other people can t
experience or haven t. Silko uses her story to show the world other people s suffering, probably a
suffering they have indirectly helped. When Americans think of Native American suffering it is
thought of a thing of the past, something we have already fixed; but if we look at the Dakota Access
Pipeline, oppression is still shown there. Silko took her chance to force people to sympathize with
Tayo and hopefully reflect on all the oppression that is still happening in the world

I Am A Man On Social Media
There was a soft wind blowing that morning. The birds were chirping in the trees and the glow of the
rising sun tinted the sky with shades of yellow and orange. As I walked to the car, I could feel the soft
breeze pass through my hair so gently as if an angel ran its fingers through each strand. I paused for a
moment to enjoy that delightful feeling before I began my journey to work.
On the way to work, began to think of the guy that has stolen my heart. Every song that played
reminded me of him. As I listened to Baby, Hold on to me by Gerald Levert, I began to envision us
looking into each other s eyes and slowly dancing the night away. I met this wonderful man on social
media. Never had I imagined that I would ever fall for someone that I have never met in person. This
man is one of a kind. He is handsome, intelligent, loving, and an all around good guy. No one is
perfect but he makes me feel as if I am in a fairytale; I am Cinderella and he is Prince Charming. With
his words he assures me that he is not here to hurt me but to cherish me. With every passing day, I feel
more connected to him than ever. After months of courting, he called and notified me of a surprise that
is coming for me. For days I wait anxiously for the unknown surprise. Friday s are normally a quiet

History of Dance in Art
Dance, Music, and Performance
The Joy of Life
Introduction
In the nineteenth century some of the greatest innovations come from artists who strove to discover if
art could work on the same level as music. I have decided to research the relationship between art,
dance, and music. The interpretation of dance and music in art continually developed during the
twentieth century. Firstly dance as a subject matter, drawn narratively and may have a symbolic
meaning. This then moved on to dance interpreted emotionally. Thirdly music and dance can be
interpreted abstractly. Endell s hypothesis (Fig.1) shows this idea of art working abstractly. Arshile
Gorky describes abstraction as allowing man to see with his mind what he cannot ... Show more

It was compiled by an assistant covering sheets of paper with flat, brilliantly hued gouache. He then
directed his assistants to place the gouache precisely on the images to make the composition.
A great advantage of this technique was that it let Matisse experiment with the composition. It solved
Matisse s problems of form and space, outline and colour, structure and orchestration that Matisse had
always sought to harmonize. It also allowed him to pay full attention to the importance of line rhythms
and form which in the past he had to sacrifice to colours and tonal relations. Matisse said, it allowed
me to seek a new means of expression which Matisse believed had beneficent radiation . Robert

Matisse believed that when I put colours together they have to join in a living chord or harmony of

extraordinary results of découpages technique. It

The 2015 National Clearinghouse of Plastic Surgery Statistics Report states that of the nearly 2
million plastic surgery procedures performed in 2015, almost 300,000 were breast implant surgeries

This allows the implant to move around, which helps the breast look and feel more natural. After
creation of the pocket, Dr. Esmailian uses a special device (Keller Funnel) to insert the breast implant.
The Keller Funnel minimizes the strain and friction that occurs between the incision and the implant;
thus, improving the safety of this procedure even more.
Following breast implant insertion (and fill, when applicable), Dr. Esmailian will use sutures to close
the tissue that leads to the pocket holding the implant. He will then close the outer incision. His

limiting Hitler s opportunities for political agitation. The Great Depression provided a political
opportunity for Hitler. Germans were ambivalent to the parliamentary republic, which faced strong
challenges from right and left wing extremists. The moderate political parties were increasingly unable
to stem the tide of extremism, and the German referendum of 1929 helped to elevate Nazi ideology.
[120] The elections of September 1930 resulted in the break up of a grand coalition and its
replacement with a minority cabinet. Its leader, chancellor Heinrich Brüning of the Centre Party,
governed through emergency decrees from President Paul von Hindenburg. Governance by decree
would become the new norm and paved the way for authoritarian forms of government.[121] The
NSDAP rose from obscurity to win 18.3 per cent of the vote and 107 parliamentary seats in the 1930
election, becoming the second largest party in parliament.[122]

Comparing Christianity, Judaism, and Islam Essay
Similarities and Differences between Christianity, Judaism and Islam There are many similarities and
differences between Judaism, Christianity and Islam. There are also many differences that separate the
three major religions of the world. This paper will delve into all three of them. The major similarities
that all three religions share are that they are all monotheistic. This all means that they believe in one
god and that he is the supreme ruler of all things. They also believe that all things are created equal
under one god. They all have books of what they believe to be God s word. The Jews have their book
known as the Torah. The Christian s have their book known as the Bible. Lastly the Islamic people

There are two parts in Jerusalem. There is the New City and the Old City. In the Old city there are
many temples, one of the most important being the Haram esh Sharif, or Venerable Sanctuary. In the
Old City there is also the Christian Church of Holy Sepulchre, which is the place where they believe
Jesus Christ was buried after coming off the Cross. There is also the Wailing Wall that the Jews go to
pray at. The Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa Mosque are there for the Muslim community.
Jerusalem is the third holiest site for the Muslim population behind Mecca and Medina. Other things
that the religions all share are that they all have their sacred places of worship. For the Christians there
is the church. For the Jewish people there is the synagogue and then for the Muslims there is the
mosque. They also all have their Sabbath or day of rest that they take time to go to their holy place of
worship. The Jewish Sabbath is on Saturday while the Christian Sabbath is on Sunday. All three of
these religions started off small and a long time ago. Judaism started a long time before the birth of
Jesus Christ. Christianity started after the birth of Christ but was not really known about or taught
until after Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans in 70 A.D. Islam was started later on but still a
long time ago. It is thought to be started in 622 A.D. by a man known as Muhammad. Seeing how
many similarities there are, let s take a look at the

To What Extent Were The Social Policies Of The Idi Amin...
To what extent were the social policies of the Idi Amin administration a detrimental response to
Uganda s colonial past? This is the question that this essay endeavors to answer as it scrutinizes the
social policies issued by Idi Amin Dada s administration throughout his eight year long reign over
Uganda. This essay will analyze the events of Idi Amin s rule from 1971 to 1979 as a response to the
decade prior to Uganda s independence in 1962 and the interim period between them from 1962 to
1971. It is made apparent that Idi Amin s response to the issues within his society were by in large
fueled by the lingering distaste he had for the effects that British involvement in Ugandan affairs had
left on the nation. The British introduced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These origins stemmed from the late 19th century to the early 20th century when the British first
began to colonize Uganda with the help of Asians but didn t intensify until the fifties when classism
and racism became a growing issue. These concerns would grow potentially destructive in the sixties
when Britain worked alongside Idi Amin to overthrow Milton Obote and then a reality in the 70 s
when these issues were addressed with severity. Links between Idi Amin s ruthless social policies and
Uganda s colonial past became apparently negative which posed the query, to what extent were these
social policies a detrimental response? The focus of this piece is to illustrate the extent to which Idi
Amin s social policies, issued in varying degree from 1971 to 1979, served as an overwhelmingly
detrimental and negative response to a time when Britain ceased greater control and influence over
Uganda. It is noteworthy because it provides an answer and origin to a nation that endured a
dictatorship with a lack of ethical and substantial social reform for nearly a decade. Instead a
subservient military overtook the Ugandan parliament in an attempt to force a self interested agenda
upon its diverse population. The question to investigate then becomes, to what extent were the social
policies of the Idi Amin administration a detrimental response to Uganda s colonial past?

Comparing Traditional Etl And How A Tool Like Apache Drill
Introduction In today s database landscape, much of an organization s raw data is known to be housed
in heterogeneous data stores. In order to merge this siloed data, it must be extracted, transformed, and
loaded (ETL) into a common platform known as a Data Warehouse. Once in the Data Warehouse, the
data can thus be analyzed using multidimensional data mining (OLAP).
The major drawback of the ETL process, however, is time. It may take a company an entire day (24h)
to even an entire business week (5 days) to have the Data Warehouse filled with the next period s data.
However as each minute passes, this data which is yet to be loaded is becoming stale and less relevant
to action. As such, big data time to value typically suffers.
Thus, the purpose of this paper is to discuss the implications of traditional ETL and how a tool like
Apache Drill can be used to pull down the barriers of ETL and allow data to be queried in place. Then,
a discussion of what Apache Drill is and how it works will follow. Lastly, a small demo of Apache
Drill will be performed on a large dataset to give the reader a better understanding of its application.
ETL s Role in Data Warehousing For a typical organization today, sources of data may and most likely
do come in many different formats. As an example, Han, et al. (2012) states, the types of data sources
that generate huge amounts of data is endless and include and are not limited to: databases, other data
warehouses, data marts, the Web,

Essay On Congress Term Limits
Consequences of Term Limits on the United States Congress Imposing term limits on the United
States Congress could potentially lead to a massive reduction of knowledgeable politicians in the
American government, thus resulting in a fatal blow to the future of American progression. When term
limits are imposed, it has been shown that legislatures eventually lose valuable leaders, that have the
experience of law making and representing their districts with excellence. The national legislation also
would willingly increase the power held by the Executive Branch, this intern could compromise the
checks and balances system. Imagine if a congressman could only serve a total of six years. They
would strive to voice their constituent s concerns while continuing to draft laws and reform the
government. When it comes to the congressman s final term in office, we will find that a vast majority
of legislatures may turn into a lame duck. Just as the President of the United States becomes a lame
duck in their final years in office, the congressman may be prompted to accomplish little to no tasks
and seek to enjoy their final days in office . Furthermore, legislators without term limits have proven

Competitive Advantage, Product Leadership, And Customer...
Competitive advantage can be derived by analyzing the organization s strengths and opportunities not
yet tapped into that competitors are already using to their benefit (Ferrell, 2011). Moreover,
competitive advantage can also be a direct result of customers impression or lack of knowledge about
the organization s products (Bethel, 2015). Realistically, competitive advantage is in the hands of the
customers and comes with some stiff practices to entice them to covet the organization s product
(Dawar, 2013). How does an organization identify their competitive advantage? Positional advantage
identifies the necessity and correlation between structure, conduct, and performance (Bradley, 2011).
Whereas, special capabilities are important to a company s profits, but tend to be specific in nature
such as patents or innovation (Bradley, 2011). Still, other identify competitive advantage by evaluating
three specific strategies, which are: operational excellence, product leadership, and customer intimacy
(Ferrell, 2011). Operational Excellence focuses on offering the customer a quality product at a good
price without the extravagance or gimmicks (Ferrell, 2011). Theoretically, to complete operational
excellence an organization must promote operating standards and processes, which are extremely
efficient and inexpensive (Bethel, 2015). Further, operational excellence has been dubbed the secret

Research Paper On Tattoo Redness
Tattoo Redness: Is It Normal? Wound healing, according to the Journal of International Medical
Research, starts immediately after an injury. The tattoo is a wound too and it s healing process starts
immediately the artist finishes. Redness is one of the healing stages and most people will attest to
having the tattoo look red, swollen and inflamed when the tattoo is fresh. The little needle used to
insert ink into the skin, punches into it a thousand times to create a huge wound, depending on the size
of your tattoo. This will bruise the area for days before it heals. The body naturally reacts to a wound

Such instances require a check up from either your artist or the doctor. swelling can be caused by
several reasons including: Infection This is one of the main causes of redness. An infection occurs if
one fails to take care of the tattoo properly. Failure to keep it clean and sterile will introduce bacteria
to the area and cause infections. To prevent this, follow instructions given by your artist on tattoo
aftercare. Most tattoo artists recommend keeping the bandage on for 12 to 24 hours after the tattoo is
done. Take the bandage off and use warm water and fragrance free soap to clean the area. Use clean
fingers to wash gently using circular motions. Pat it dry and allow it to dry out before applying
moisturizer. Airing the tattoo prevents the area from trapping moisture that could harbor bacteria.
Tattoo infections though rare, can cause serious risks to your health. It s also important to note that
healing time for tattoos is different for everyone and depends on many factors. Yours may just be
taking some time before it heals. If the redness persists for more than 10 days see a doctor especially if

Analysis Of A Small Place By Jamaica Kincaid
Antigua is a small island that was discovered in 1493, by Christopher Columbus. The natives that
lived there were made slaves by the British and the economy thrived on producing sugar. In 1834 the
British abolished slavery giving Antigua its independence. The sugar industry was failing so the
economy relied on tourism. A Small Place by Jamaica Kincaid is about Antigua. Kincaid narrates her
novel in second person, blaming the tourists for ruining the culture of Antigua. Kincaid explains that
the British were cruel to the Antiguan people but she forgives them for it. Kincaid also talked about
how the Government is currently corrupt and how beautiful Antigua s land is. Kincaids novel is
broken up into four parts that address all of these issues in Antigua. The way A Small Place by Jamaica
Kincaid was written is effective in the way that it tries to persuade and inform the readers.
In part one of A Small Place, Kincaid tries to persuade the readers, she does this by talking directly to
them. Kincaid says that the tourists ruin the culture and that they are not justified in coming to Antigua
for a vacation. Kincaid thinks that tourism is ugly, an ugly thing, that is what you are when you
become a tourist (Kincaid 17). Kincaid is trying to persuade the reader instead of informing them with
a fact or observation. This direct use of second person is successful to persuade the reader. It is
successful because the reader might feel guilty for traveling and might change his or her perspective
on traveling.
In part four of A Small Place, Kincaid tries to persuade the reader. Kincaid tries to make the reader
think that Antiguas beauty is unreal. Kincaid also instead of informing you with facts or observations
talks about how the British should be punished for enslaving Antiguans and says in her opinion why
they did it. Kincaid wants the reader to feel that Europeans are truly unhappy, to satisfy their desire for
wealth and power, to feel better about their own miserable existence, so that they could be less lonely
and empty a European disease (Kincaid 80). This use of persuasion successfully makes you think
about human nature. It makes the reader think of why people would enslave others for money and
power.

Also like cars, a much larger star burns more fuel than a smaller star. This difference in fuel efficiency
forms the basis for how stars receive categorization. In the eco friendly section of the star dealership,
one may find the most humble of all celestial objects: The red dwarf. As the name implies, they
usually only possess half the size of our sun or less. The red dwarf s small size and lack of resources
in its creation places it firmly as the most common star in the universe; though, their lack of size hides
from the naked eye. Despite this shortcoming, red dwarfs possess one advantage over their larger and
brighter counterparts: Life expectancy. Of course, these monstrous spheres of ignited hydrogen
possess no life, but scientists consider them alive until they run out of fuel and burn out, and red
dwarfs take a long time to burn out. In fact, in the Universe s 13 billion year long existence, every red

As Burke eventually does argue that first responders should be included in the memorial, he makes

his piece by emphasizing the horrors that the first responders voluntarily walked into. By organizing
the piece the way Burke did, it allowed him to shape the reader s viewpoint of first responders before
he even began arguing his point that first responders must be honored at Ground Zero on the ten year
anniversary of 9/11. Another powerful technique that Burke uses to persuade his audience is he uses
quotes. Burke uses quotes from people who were at the scene of 9/11 themselves. Burke quotes a
woman who was descending from the 89th floor who said When I saw the firemen I knew we would
be all right. By using quotes like this, Burke shows the emotional reinsurance that the first responders
gave to the people involved in the attack. By showing the emotional response to the first responders, it
makes the reader clearly see the importance of the presence of first responders on the scene and the
impact they had on the victims. The first responders altered the emotional atmosphere of the scene.

Women s Role In Christianity
Women have played a major part in Christianity and are an example of the unevenness of women s
commitments to history. Women like Mary Magdalene were at the cross and the first at the vacant
tomb. Conventional Christianity trusted that the announcements credited to St. Paul in I Timothy 2
that women were made second, sinned first, and ought to keep quiet. Women traditionalists accepted
and acknowledged these lessons as genuine. Jesus activities as indicated by the Bible reliably resonate
his confidence in the fairness of women, and that woman could study, educate and lecture.
Paul forced a patriarchal elucidation of Christianity that showed that women are substandard,
essentially chargeable for transgression and the fall of mankind, and barred ... Show more content on

Tragically, the general public did not permit her to see quality in her womanliness and even attempted
to disgrace her with it, so she saw no other decision yet. Felicity was seriously upset about her
pregnancy on the grounds that the length of she was pregnant, she would not be executed as a saint.
She reviled this womanly state as hindering for her longing to rise above womanhood and die for God.
Being a pregnant woman lessened Felicity to being basic and denied her any radiance. Subsequently,
she was relieved when she gave birth before the execution and was separated from the child that
chains her to sexuality and womanhood. The subject of the account is by all accounts that women can
go up against a manly part for God to the point where they become men according to Christianity. The
Passion of Saints Perpetua and Felicity does not commend womanhood, it is a story about a woman
who rises above the limits of her society and turns out on the prevailing side. For that, it is an
important text.
From the earliest starting point of the early Christian church, beginning with Jesus, women were
important to the movement. When Paul started his preacher development, women were essential in
communities. The various leveled religious philosophy has put women under the man s power in the
congregation, in marriage, and somewhere else. Truly, it has barred ladies

  • 2. Theatre Of Absurd Essay After the Second World War, the people have suffered from corruption, frustration, and injustices that lead them to prefer to isolate life alone. They have felt that life has lost its meaning and it becomes useless. All that force them to be more aggressive and angry. All the political, economic and social conditions at that time have forced people to feel lost. This feeling of loss makes group of playwrights to create the Theater of Absurd. The Theater of Absurd reflects the feeling of loneliness and isolation of people. The playwrights aim to use meaningless plot, repetition, foolish dialogues, and absurd language to present the suffering of people. All of their characteristics and techniques are new, as they revolt against all traditional forms and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To be accurate, drama of anger has not begun in certain time or place. Any kind of violence, cruelty, frustration or injustice can lead to produce anger. This paper will give more attention to anger in twentieth century, especially in the period that follows the Second World War which is called The Absurd . It is actually has begun in 1960. The term The Theater of Absurd is coined by Martin Esslin (1918 2002), critic, to describe the theater that is created by some European and American playwrights who has appeared in the of late1950s and the early of 1960s such as Samuel Beckett (1906 89), Arthur Adamove (1908 1970), Harold Pinter (1930 2008), and Edward Albee (1928 ). Through this term, Esslin tries to show the sense of loss and uselessness of existence in the world which the post war dramatists have felt. This movement known as The Theater of Absurd is not an organized movement and has not any clear cut agenda Each of the main playwrights has developed his/her style independently. Moreover, Esslin states that absurd originally means out of harmony (18 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Falls Prevention Case Study Everybody know a family member or a friend who has fallen either at home, in the hospital, or in the street. Falls can cause dangerous side effects to the elderly population and can make them loose their independence overtime. Falls are commonly defined as inadvertently coming to rest on the ground, floor or other lower level, excluding intentional change in position to rest in furniture, wall or other objects (World Health Organization, 2017). Certain falls need an immediate medical attention and intervention to prevent further complications. Preventing falls and injuries should be everyone s high priority to help elderly feel and stay safe from the threat and the danger of falling. Patient falls in the hospital is a serious issue and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The hospital can implement a survey to find out how much the employees know about interventions and preventions of falls and injury risk and develop a culture that make all staff members feel encouraged to take actions like addressing spills and malfunctioning equipment in a timely manner. According to Grant, McEnerney, and Proctor (2013), reviewing falls risk assessment, giving staff additional falls prevention training, using alarms and monitors, providing patients with yellow fall alert bands, providing more additional staff in the unit resulted in a huge improvement in reducing falls total number of falls went from 277 during 2010 2011 period to 248 during 2011 2012 period and Falls with harm went from 42 during 2010 2011 period to 18 during 2012 2013 period. A continues comprehensive training and education sessions for nurses and staff to enhance knowledge about certain assessment is crucial and can help decrease fall risks and injuries among hospitalized patients aged 60 and older. One study suggested that nurses utilize a screening process that is easy to use and implement at any setting. The Ashen Fall Prevention Scale is a combination of a simple questionnaire and a safe quick balance tool which help the nurse or any healthcare provider to identify whether a balance issue exists or not (Pape, Schemmann, Foerster, Knobe, 2015). This scale will also help identify the specific factors contributing to falls vision or hearing impairment, medication, certain diseases... , which can assist the nurse to come up with a particular prevention strategies specific to each situation. It is important to use evidence based fall prevention strategies such as the Ashen Fall Prevention Scale to reduce the incidence of falls among elderly. • 4. Attic Black-Figure Column Krater The Attic Black Figure Column Krater depicts Dionysos the Wine God surrounded by various Satyrs and Maenads. The Satyrs and Maenads appear to be performing some kind of dance ritual, with Dionysos standing center. Dionysos, holding a drinking appeared rather relaxed compared to the others in the scene, it almost appears as if he was smiling at the Satyrs and Maenads. Ultimately, the subject matter of the painting on the vase showcases a joyous ritual with Dionysus and his follower Satyrs and Maenads. The subject matter of this vase infers that the Athenians were a festive people that enjoyed dance and wine. The overall nature of the scene feels festive, with the Satyrs and Maenads dancing around a relaxed Dionysus. Secondly, Dionysus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, the Satyrs have animal like features such as their tails, and horse like legs. On the other hand, the woman have paperwhite skin and black marking on their body that resembles a tattoo. Lastly, Dionysus drinking horn is symbolic his status as the God of Wine, while his ivy leaf crown represents his immortality. Since the picture depicts Dionysos the God of Wine, I speculate this scene is meant to celebrate the act of drinking. Next, the Satyrs erect penis hints at the sexual tension amongst the characters. Lastly, after further examination it became subtly apparent that the first three characters on the left side of the vase were not fully engaged in the ritual, the Maenad is facing left towards the two Satyrs on the left unlike the rest of the figures. The realistic nature of the painting, infers that Dionysus and his band of Maenads and Satyrs shared similar characteristics to humans. Next, the colors used on this column krater distinguish the identity of each character. For instance, the Satyrs were all pitch black, the Maenads were white with a myriad of black lies, and Dionysus had a brown skin tone. • 5. A Short Note On Diabetic Retinopathy ( Dr ) Is The Most... Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the most common cause of vision loss in working aged individuals in developed countries. Diabetic macular edema (DME) is the main cause of decreased vision in diabetic retinopathy [1]. It was shown that the 10 year cumulative incidence of diabetic macular edema was 20.1% in type 1 diabetes and 25.4% in patients with type 2 diabetes treated with insulin [2]. The management of DME includes strict glycemic and blood pressure control [3 5]. Argon laser treatment for clinically significant macular edema (CSME) has been the mainstay treatment according to the Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study (ETDRS) study that demonstrated a 50% reduction in moderate visual loss following focal laser photocoagulation [6,7]. The conventional Argon laser treatment is associated with heat to the surrounding tissues such as the neurosensory retina and the choroid leading to collateral thermal damage. The greyish endpoint of a laser burn means that the temperature is high enough to change the transparency of the retina [8]. Possible side effects of conventional macular laser photocoagulation include visual loss due to accidental foveal photocoagulation, pre and sub retinal fibrosis, choroidal neovascularization, visual field scotomas, decreased color vision and progressive expansion of the laser scars into the fovea [9 12]. Conventional laser photocoagulation produces a continuous wave laser output. On the other hand subthreshold micropulse laser treatment ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Analysis of Article The Go-Nowhere Generation In the article The Go Nowhere Generation, the Buchholzes argue that the present generation of youths has taken a turn for the worse, losing the sense of spirit that were once synonymous with people of their age and settling for meager jobs in their hometowns instead. The target audience of The Go Nowhere Generation is educated older adults and parents, who are most likely to share the authors views. The authors implement a series of comparisons, which include statistics and descriptions, between the past and present generation of young adults to illustrate their position. However, though the authors make several valid points that are supported by solid evidence, the article falls short of being truly convincing due to its narrow views ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Buchholzes use data skillfully to show the downfall of the young person. The authors extend the comparisons using descriptions and adjectives. The past generation of youths was made up of go getters eager to hit the road and find freedom ; they were even the inspiration for Bruce Springsteen s vivacious album, Born to Run. The authors claim that today s youths are far from that, holding nothing back as they describe the young people of this generation. Risk averse and sedentary, they don t bother to get their driver s licenses, are satisfied to be at home browsing Facebook, and put too much faith in luck than effort. In other words, Generation Y has become Generation Why Bother. The authors appeal to the audience s sense of patriotism, stating that American is a nation of movers and shakers and enumerating the accounts of bravery shown by the youths of previous generations, images that are admittedly different from the image they have crafted of the modern young person. The praises and favorable descriptions that the authors lavish upon previous generations of youths contrast sharply with the lackluster and borderline insulting descriptions of today s young adults. The juxtapositions accentuate how far Generation Y has fallen from its predecessors and prove, once again, that its constituents are leading stagnant lives. Even though the authors have valid points and cite credible sources, their argument fails to be effective in several ways. For one, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Cybercrime And The World Of Cybercrime Essay In today s world, people have become very used to using high technology in the 21st century such as computers, smartphones, and recently, smart watches. This technology is so common that many people rely on their devices just to perform some basic tasks for some of the most common jobs. In fact, these devices also help people stay in contact with one another. While this new age of technology has brought along many great innovations and made the lives of many people a lot easier, it has also opened up the world of cybercrime. Cybercrime is particularly dangerous because it is significantly more difficult for a criminal to get caught due to the fact that they may be all the way on the other side of the globe. The most common cybercrimes that people will hear of is identity theft and credit card scams because those crimes are among the most difficult to solve and the criminals usually have multiple victims. The worst part is that there are not enough people studying computer science or any other science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) major let alone graduating with said major. People want to have a sense of security and keep their most sensitive information private which would mean making computers more secure and teaching people about the basics of online safety. • 10. Reflection About Witchcraft About This Book Many of us move to Witchcraft from some type of Judeo Christian history. It was the Us vs. Them attitude that a lot of Christians have. Those Christians think that you are either with them, or you are just wrong. If what you are used to is less combative, you are acquainted with being part of the Flock . Everybody in that specific congregation believes the same identical thing. We are all individuals. No two people are exactly identically and the thought that we all must have the same identical beliefs is flawed. In Witchcraft, we know that because we each are unique. We all have unique life events. It s impossible for any two individuals to have the exact same values and beliefs. What may work for me, may not work for you. Because most of us come from that one size fits all tradition, we just instinctively presume that Witchcraft works the same and vice versa. That s why so many who are going into Witchcraft become frustrated when two books detail the same perception differently. • 11. The Choices Made Effect The Future After graduating high school, life actually begins. The choices made effect the future, a big choice to make is whether to go into the military. The military force closest to civilians is the National Guard. National Guardsmen and women get benefits that normal civilians don t, but the opposite is also true. Differences between time, money, and education should be taken into account when deciding a future in the National Guard. Humans only have so long to live, time wasted is time that cannot be recaptured, time is a currency that without thriftiness can dwindle into nothing. When someone joins the National Guard, he/she signs to work for eight years of their life. Depending on the force joined in the National Guard, the basic training is ... Since civilians do not hold drills on weekends or go to mandatory meetings they can hold a job because their schedule is more manageable (National Guard Members Struggle to Keep Civilian Jobs). Family is less of an issue because civilians are not withheld by a contract to leave the state by the federal government. All of the factors point that civilians are better equipped to save time. Civilians might be better in the department of saving time but money is a different story. During training, National Guard forces are paid as if they are in active duty (What will I get paid). Once the training is over, the money declines for reserve members, but stays relatively constant for active members. The pay is around two hundred to three hundred dollars for reserve members, and one thousand five hundred dollars to two thousand dollars for active members per drill, one weekend a month (What will I get paid). The pay of the National Guard might not be exciting, but the military truly shines in the area of education. The Giver is a story about a boy named Jonas who was chosen to be the community s next Receiver of Memory. He lived in a community where everything was chosen for the citizens, and everything was perfect. During Jonas training, he realized that the community was missing something and that there was more in the world. Jonas wanted the everybody to know that. The Giver book was then made into a movie. But there were a few exceptions: Jonas himself, and a female Five who he had noticed had the different, lighter eyes, (pg. 20 Lois Lowry). Only those with light eyes would become the next Receiver of Memory, which is why it was such an important detail. In the Giver movie, it was changed into a birthmark. That birthmark was shaped like a triangle and in the movie, all Receivers of Memory had them. The third main difference between The Giver book and the movie was the Chief Elder s role. In the Giver book, the Chief Elder was not much of an important character, The initial speech at the Ceremony of Twelve was made by the Chief Elder, the leader of the community who was elected every ten years, (pg. 51 Lois Lowry). However, the Chief Elder played an important role in the Giver movie. In the book, the Chief spoke in a few chapters during Ceremonies and that was all. The Giver movie s Chief Elder always watched Jonas closely. She started becoming suspicious of Jonas, and so she would warn Jonas mother and The Giver. She then found out about Jonas plan to escape. When she did, she ordered Asher to lose him (The Giver movie). That meant she wanted Asher to kill Jonas. This essay was about the three main differences between the Giver book and the Giver movie. Original stars of the show included Todd Andrews, as John, and Katherine Balfour, as Alma. The production ran for only 100 performances, after being constantly compared to and eventually replaced by A Streetcar named Desire. Part of the reason why critics believe this show was so unsuccessful is because Margo Jones went about this blind eyed, and only had the guide of Tennessee when she went to visit him, they blame the poor outcome of this show on its poor staging and directing. I agree with her, this is not a single incident and the book does an amazing job to show privileged people that trauma is everywhere, not just in the past. Literature is sometimes used as a vehicle to tell stories that other people can t experience or haven t. History of Dance in Art Dance, Music, and Performance The Joy of Life Introduction In the nineteenth century some of the greatest innovations come from artists who strove to discover if art could work on the same level as music. I have decided to research the relationship between art, dance, and music. The interpretation of dance and music in art continually developed during the twentieth century. Firstly dance as a subject matter, drawn narratively and may have a symbolic meaning. This then moved on to dance interpreted emotionally. Thirdly music and dance can be interpreted abstractly. • 25. Comparing Traditional Etl And How A Tool Like Apache Drill Introduction In today s database landscape, much of an organization s raw data is known to be housed in heterogeneous data stores. In order to merge this siloed data, it must be extracted, transformed, and loaded (ETL) into a common platform known as a Data Warehouse. Once in the Data Warehouse, the data can thus be analyzed using multidimensional data mining (OLAP). The major drawback of the ETL process, however, is time. It may take a company an entire day (24h) to even an entire business week (5 days) to have the Data Warehouse filled with the next period s data. However as each minute passes, this data which is yet to be loaded is becoming stale and less relevant to action. As such, big data time to value typically suffers. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to discuss the implications of traditional ETL and how a tool like Apache Drill can be used to pull down the barriers of ETL and allow data to be queried in place. Then, a discussion of what Apache Drill is and how it works will follow. Lastly, a small demo of Apache Drill will be performed on a large dataset to give the reader a better understanding of its application. ETL s Role in Data Warehousing For a typical organization today, sources of data may and most likely do come in many different formats. As an example, Han, et al. Competitive advantage can be derived by analyzing the organization s strengths and opportunities not yet tapped into that competitors are already using to their benefit (Ferrell, 2011). • 33. Analysis Of A Small Place By Jamaica Kincaid Antigua is a small island that was discovered in 1493, by Christopher Columbus. The natives that lived there were made slaves by the British and the economy thrived on producing sugar. In 1834 the British abolished slavery giving Antigua its independence. The sugar industry was failing so the economy relied on tourism. A Small Place by Jamaica Kincaid is about Antigua. Kincaid narrates her novel in second person, blaming the tourists for ruining the culture of Antigua. Kincaid explains that the British were cruel to the Antiguan people but she forgives them for it. Kincaid also talked about how the Government is currently corrupt and how beautiful Antigua s land is. Kincaids novel is broken up into four parts that address all of these issues in Antigua. The way A Small Place by Jamaica Kincaid was written is effective in the way that it tries to persuade and inform the readers. In part one of A Small Place, Kincaid tries to persuade the readers, she does this by talking directly to them. Kincaid says that the tourists ruin the culture and that they are not justified in coming to Antigua for a vacation. Kincaid thinks that tourism is ugly, an ugly thing, that is what you are when you become a tourist (Kincaid 17). Kincaid is trying to persuade the reader instead of informing them with a fact or observation. This direct use of second person is successful to persuade the reader. It is successful because the reader might feel guilty for traveling and might change his or her perspective on traveling. In part four of A Small Place, Kincaid tries to persuade the reader. Kincaid tries to make the reader think that Antiguas beauty is unreal. Kincaid also instead of informing you with facts or observations talks about how the British should be punished for enslaving Antiguans and says in her opinion why they did it. Kincaid wants the reader to feel that Europeans are truly unhappy, to satisfy their desire for wealth and power, to feel better about their own miserable existence, so that they could be less lonely and empty a European disease (Kincaid 80). This use of persuasion successfully makes you think about human nature. It makes the reader think of why people would enslave others for money and power. In part ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also like cars, a much larger star burns more fuel than a smaller star. This difference in fuel efficiency forms the basis for how stars receive categorization. In the eco friendly section of the star dealership, one may find the most humble of all celestial objects: The red dwarf. As the name implies, they usually only possess half the size of our sun or less. The red dwarf s small size and lack of resources in its creation places it firmly as the most common star in the universe; though, their lack of size hides from the naked eye. Despite this shortcoming, red dwarfs possess one advantage over their larger and brighter counterparts: Life expectancy. Of course, these monstrous spheres of ignited hydrogen possess no life, but scientists consider them alive until they run out of fuel and burn out, and red dwarfs take a long time to burn out. In fact, in the Universe s 13 billion year long existence, every red dwarf to ever form remains burning to this day. This longevity, combined with their abundance, makes a planet in a red dwarf star system the perfect candidate for the first interstellar colony; so despite their relatively quiet existence, these little guys potentially hold the future of humanity. It was given its due from the press. Everyone was confused and was searching for numerous mysterious questions that were answered. This is a natural human reaction in such circumstances but in this age of connectivity and the number of news channels, blogs and internet sites the murder transformed into a macabre and voyeuristic interest into every detail and rumor about the case. The questioning of the maidservant of the Talwar s by the media is outrageous, both inside and outside of the studio is a typical example of the kind of sensationalism that the media has tried to generate. As Burke eventually does argue that first responders should be included in the memorial, he makes sure to point out that denying them the privilege of coming to the memorial would deny the first responders their due and proper honor .This would not be as impactful if Burke would not have started his piece by emphasizing the horrors that the first responders voluntarily walked into. By organizing the piece the way Burke did, it allowed him to shape the reader s viewpoint of first responders before he even began arguing his point that first responders must be honored at Ground Zero on the ten year anniversary of 9/11. Another powerful technique that Burke uses to persuade his audience is he uses quotes. Burke uses quotes from people who were at the scene of 9/11 themselves. Burke quotes a woman who was descending from the 89th floor who said When I saw the firemen I knew we would be all right. By using quotes like this, Burke shows the emotional reinsurance that the first responders gave to the people involved in the attack. By showing the emotional response to the first responders, it makes the reader clearly see the importance of the presence of first responders on the scene and the impact they had on the victims. The first responders altered the emotional atmosphere of the scene.
