The Keyboard – Typing Device
The Keyboard
• It is the most common and most important input device.
• It is used for manual data entry.
• It consist of 104 keys.
• It has 3 basic type of keypads as
-1 Alphabetic Keypad
it consist of alphabets (A-Z) and used to enter
alphabetic data.
-2 Numeric Keypad
It consist of numbers (0-9) and used to enter numeric
data.
-3 Special Keys
It is used to give instructions to the computer.
What happens when a key presses?
Types of Keyboards:
Foldable Keyboard:
It takes less space.
Braille Keyboard:
It consist of keys embossed
with Braille characters.
Braille Keyboard:
Holographic keyboard
It produces a projection of keyboard on the surface .
When a user touches the surface the device recorded the corresponding keystroke.
Wireless Keyboard
A wireless keyboard is a computer keyboard that allows the user to communicate
with computers with the help of radio frequency (RF), infrared (IR) or Bluetooth
technology.
It is common for wireless keyboards available these days to be accompanied by
a wireless mouse.
Gaming Keyboard
A gaming keypad is a small, auxiliary keyboard designed only
for gaming. It has a limited number of the original keys from a
standard keyboard, and they are arranged in a way to facilitate quick
and efficient gaming key presses.
