INPACT
IFC-NIESBUD Program for
Advancing Capacity of Trainers
Many sectors in India are constrained by
skills shortage. Most of these challenges
can be addressed by building the
competency of trainers to deliver better
quality training. In this context, The
National Institute for Entrepreneurship
and Small Business Development
(NIESBUD) in partnership with the
International Finance Corporation (IFC)
has developed a Training of Trainers (ToT)
program, the IFC-NIESBUD Program for
Advancing Capacity of Trainers (INPACT).
INPACT aims to enhance the capacity of
trainers across India to deliver effective
training in the areas of entrepreneurship
and business skills. INPACT leverages
IFC’s, Business EdgeTM
Training of Trainers
(ToT) methodology. IFC has used its
Business EdgeTM
ToT course to upgrade
the skills and certify trainers in over 30
countries spanning Asia, Africa, the
Middle East, Latin America and the
Caribbean. NIESBUD is a premier
organization of the Ministry of Skill
Development and Entrepreneurship
engaged in training, consultancy,
research, incubation, etc. The Institute
has trained more than 5.58 lakh trainees
including 3237 persons from more than
125 countries till June, 2015.
Together NIESBUD and IFC bring you an
enriched ToT program to build the
competency and skills of trainers across
India.

 Key Competency: Introducing a training session
 Key Competency: Presenting training content
 Using media effectively
 Asking and answering questions
 Key Competency: Giving and receiving feedback
 Short practice preparation (5 minute presentation)
Day 3
 Short practice presentations
 Key Competency: Conducting training
 Key Competency: Concluding a training session
 Professional classroom management techniques
 Using projectors and slides effectively
 Managing session time
 Managing classroom situations
 Using non-verbal language
 Creating comfortable learning environments
 Long practice preparation (15 minute
presentation)
Day 4
 Long practice presentations (Continued..)
 Key Competency: Reviewing and evaluating the
training experience
 Action planning
Certification
Certificate of Participation
On completion of the Trainer
Capacity Building Program,
candidates will receive a
‘Certificate of Participation’
jointly issued by NIESBUD and
IFC
Field Trainings
The trainer will have to demonstrate
key trainer competencies in a field
training. Demonstrations will be
assessed by trained assessors using
a standardized trainer assessment
methodology
Certificate of Completion
After the successful
Demonstration of key

field training, the trainer

The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development
(NIESBUD)
NIESBUD is a premier organization of Ministry of Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship, Government of India, for promoting entrepreneurship and
developing small businesses through different interventions of Training, Research,
Incubation, Hand-holding, Consultancy etc. The Institute conducts different kind of
training programs viz; Trainers Training Programmes, Entrepreneurship-cum-Skill
Training Programmes, Management Development Programmes, Entrepreneurship
Development Programmes etc. The training activities of the Institute are focused upon
entrepreneurial motivation, skill upgradation and building competencies through in-
depth orientation in the concerned areas.

  • 1. INPACT IFC-NIESBUD Program for Advancing Capacity of Trainers Many sectors in India are constrained by skills shortage. Most of these challenges can be addressed by building the competency of trainers to deliver better quality training. In this context, The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) has developed a Training of Trainers (ToT) program, the IFC-NIESBUD Program for Advancing Capacity of Trainers (INPACT). INPACT aims to enhance the capacity of trainers across India to deliver effective training in the areas of entrepreneurship and business skills. INPACT leverages IFC’s, Business EdgeTM Training of Trainers (ToT) methodology. IFC has used its Business EdgeTM ToT course to upgrade the skills and certify trainers in over 30 countries spanning Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean. NIESBUD is a premier organization of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship engaged in training, consultancy, research, incubation, etc. The Institute has trained more than 5.58 lakh trainees including 3237 persons from more than 125 countries till June, 2015. Together NIESBUD and IFC bring you an enriched ToT program to build the competency and skills of trainers across India. Course Outline Program Duration: 4 Days Day 1  Introduction to the Program  Our learners, our starting point  Trainer competencies  Key Competency: Preparing for training  Creating comfortable learning environments  Learning styles (Kolb) Day 2  Key Competency: Conducting training  Key Competency: Introducing a training session  Key Competency: Presenting training content  Using media effectively  Asking and answering questions  Key Competency: Giving and receiving feedback  Short practice preparation (5 minute presentation) Day 3  Short practice presentations  Key Competency: Conducting training  Key Competency: Concluding a training session  Professional classroom management techniques  Using projectors and slides effectively  Managing session time  Managing classroom situations  Using non-verbal language  Creating comfortable learning environments  Long practice preparation (15 minute presentation) Day 4  Long practice presentations (Continued..)  Key Competency: Reviewing and evaluating the training experience  Action planning Certification Certificate of Participation On completion of the Trainer Capacity Building Program, candidates will receive a ‘Certificate of Participation’ jointly issued by NIESBUD and IFC Field Trainings The trainer will have to demonstrate key trainer competencies in a field training.
