Innovation Frameworks Innovation by users: Example: Problem: When an artist paints with oil color, the brushes need to be dipped in turpentine to maintain their softness and pliance. If you dip the brush in a mug containing oil, the brush hair lose shape The problem here is to maintain the shape as well as the softness of the brush hair. Solution: A clasp on which you can suspend the and dip them in the turpentine, while at the same time not touching the base of the container. I will provide a sketch next time. Promise! This problem could envisaged only by a user; the Artist. The innovation was purely based on the problem and hence very relevant A manufacturer is not even aware of these problems, so why would he try to solve them?
Innovation Frameworks User Research/ Needs/ Efficiency solutions Processes Innovation based on business context Enabling IT is not a business goal Think process simplification: is it really required? Value addition Process consulting Innovation for IT Professionals interpretation Predictive behaviors Coke re-fill truck gets alerted via a GPS based system while passing by a café that has to re- plensih the stock Business Example: Bancassurance As an innovative business idea, first used in France, where they first used banking premises and banking professionals to sell insurance. The key to selling insurance is trust and who do we trust most? Bankers have our money because we trust them. Of course this is not the only factor.
