You mention in your email quite a few references to my writing having some serious issues, yet in the
grading not one example was pointed out . I ask that if you believe the same applies to any part of the
draft submission that you highlight at least the one that will explain any significant point deduction.
More, importantly, I would like to know exactly where I can use improvements, plus I prefer clarity as
to where and/or why points were taken off in this class. Sometimes stylistic choice is mistaken for
poor writing or incoherent or illogical as you suggested. I have not come across any professor that has
said so much about my writing (negatively) and not offer any example. A link in this case is not

The Four Concepts Of Symbolic Interactionism
Symbolic interactions are a major part of how we socialize with others. It happens every day without
us even realizing it. There are many concepts that assist in the formation of symbolic interactions, but
to better understand them, we need to apply them to social settings. The four concepts of social
interactionism theory I chose to observe at the social settings of my choosing were; definition of
situation, symbols, front regions, and role playing. These concepts often interrelate as they all are a
part of each other. To better understand these concepts, they were applied to two different social
settings which were the bar and mass at the Catholic church. The concepts will be defined and
reviewed in the order above.
When we refer to definition of situation, we are referring to what the entrance of the social setting
encompasses. We look at what are the norms, the rules, and what is acceptable in that setting. For
example, when I was entering the bar, there were people outside smoking. To be able to walk through
the front doors, there was a man who one had to give an ID to so he could check the age to allow the
person to get in. When I walked through the doors, there were people sitting at tables in groups of
three to five people on the left who would look to see who was entering the bar. On the right side of

Good morning/afternoon, today I will be analysing a scene from Steven Spielberg s master piece film
Schindler s List. Movie extraordinaire Steven Spielberg, who is a world renown director of countless
memorable films, show cases his incredible skill and compelling power towards the audience, without
using any dialogue in the most pivotal character development scene in Schindler s List. Referred too,
by the audience as The girl in red .
Before I delve in to the depths of this scene and why it is so significant to the film, it is important I
outline the story of Schindler s list. This film is all about Oskar Schindler; a successful business man,
womanizer and member of the Nazi party. A true story, about a man making a living using Jewish
workers in factories, producing anything from pots and pans too brass tank ammunition shells, during
the height of WW2. Throughout the start of the film Schindler s humanity is questionable leaving to
audience to ponder whether or not he is a hero or just another Nazi using the Jewish people as an easy
and free work force. This all changes about a third of the way through the film, when the audience
witnesses our questionable hero s fundamental change of heart for his Jewish working force and as
discovered later on in the film, he spends more money than he can make trying to save them.
