Although PROFIBUS can provide robust, long lasting network reliability and resilience, special tools are recommended to check on the quality of each new installation and to help with the long term maintenance of the originally achieved levels of performance. In this talk we outline what can be expected of such tools, how and when they should be used and the important network performance indicators that can be checked. These tools are recommended for use during commissioning of new systems, before new system acceptance and on a regular basis thereafter in order to help ongoing reliability and successful operation. Collection and logging of comprehensive network performance reports from the test tool, at or soon after first system acceptance, can then provide an extremely valuable benchmark against which to compare all future measurements in the years ahead.
This presentation will be covering what a typical IO-Link solution consists of, how it interfaces to the control system and the benefits that can be derived from this increased level of communication with IO-Link devices. These include: easier handling of measurement signals, remote and automatic device parameterisation, smart sensor diagnostic functions, safety over IO-Link whilst also being an enabler for Industrial IoT and Industry 4.0 strategies.

IO-Link – What is it?
IO-Link is the first standardised IO technology worldwide (IEC 61131-9) for the communication with sensors and also actuators.
It is typically used in an automation environment below the I/O level for individual linking of field devices
It uses point-to-point communication based on the long established 3-wire sensor and actuator connection without additional requirements regarding cabling.
IO-Link is not a fieldbus, nor is it a replacement for AS-i. It is however evidence of the further development of the existing, tried-and-tested connection technology for sensors and actuators.
Since 2010, IO-Link has been incorporated within the PROFIBUS & PROFINET User Organisation (PNO)
IEC 61131-9
Point-to-point communications protocol from the fieldbus to the sensor and actuator level.
IO-Link master acts as a gateway between the IO-Link device and the higher level communication system, such as a fieldbus (Profinet, EtherNet/IP, etc.) or a device-specific backplane bus.
IO-Link device is the field device with communication capability: sensors, switching devices, valve terminals, RFID devices, indicator lights, etc.

Karsten Geise's presentation for Internet Security Days 2016 showed how governments and businesses can protect critical infrastructure against backdoor cyber attacks.
The Indiana 5G Zone will be demonstrated a Smart Traffic management system that combines Machine Learning with Zero Trust Data Protection. The machine learning program will be utilized to anonymize the vehicle and driver identities while the Zero Trust Data protection will be used to ensure cyberattackers cannot get access to the raw or processed images.
The cold climate of the Nordics has been a hothouse for data center growth in recent years. Now, however, there is a growing need for high-speed data center connectivity automatically protected by the most robust encryption. What’s more, this needs to be available across all types of network and performance-assured end to end. At Datacenter Forum in Stockholm, Dieter Will revealed details of our pioneering PoCs focused on secure connectivity at every network layer.
Together with three key partners, Ficolo, Neos IT Services and Creanord, ADVA conducted a series of industry-first PoCs to demonstrate highly efficient security and performance across every kind of connectivity service. The trials showed how new methods can deliver lower latency, better throughput, improved security and real-time QoS monitoring, when compared to today’s traditional IPSec security. The tests involved three new solutions built on ADVA’s ConnectGuard™ toolkit. They showed how this technology is the key to attracting many more customers to Nordic data centers, whether they are connecting to the cloud, to the data center, or any IT resource.

OPC UA Security: Native and Add-on Solutionsteam-WIBU
The Industrial Internet of Things has set the stage for the convergence of Operations Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT), that is, the plant floor and the higher-level IT infrastructure. One of the many aspects of this transitional journey is represented by M2M communications.
OPC UA is a multi-platform, plug & play Information Exchange Standard for industrial smart automation and cloud networking. It standardizes communications within machines, between machines, and from machines to smart systems, securely networked with IoT architectures.
As a member of the OPC Foundation, Wibu-Systems has been an early adopter of the OPC UA standard in Industrie 4.0 projects like IUNO, the German national reference project for IT security in Industrie 4.0, S4SmartPro, the key finder prototype production line of SmartFactoryKL, and OpSit, the optimal use of smart items technologies in healthcare.
As recently pointed out in the Industrial Internet Security Framework as well, it is endpoints, i.e. the device or cloud-based components that have interfaces for network communication, that are particularly vulnerable in a world of cyber-physical systems connected to open networks. The Unified Automation ANSI C based and High Performance OPC UA SDKs, powered by CodeMeter Embedded, fully support the OPC UA defined Security Profiles and configurations and provide even stronger security for modern M2M communications. Secret information, like RSA private keys, certificates, and trust lists, is stored in a hardware secure element and protected from theft and tampering attacks. In a time when intellectual property is shifting in the value chain from hardware to software, manufacturers now also have new opportunities to capitalize on their software and offer feature-based, time-based, version-based, or pay-per-use models to scale up their offerings, expand their market share, and produce recurrent revenues.
In this presentation, we are going to navigate you through a journey of exploration that will touch upon:
* The elements of innovation in smart manufacturing
* The connection requirements for M2M in the IIoT age
* The building blocks of the OPC Unified Architecture
* Use cases that are accelerating the rise of Smart Factories
* The integration of CodeMeter in the OPC UA standard
* The OPC UA security extension for endpoints
Working with Windows, Linux, macOS, or Android? With minimal embedded controllers up to massive cloud infrastructures? OPC UA and CodeMeter are equally suited, scalable, and secure, and most of all integrated in a streamlined fashion to provide the ultimate technology in access control, authentication, and encryption.

Cisco Intelligent Branch - Enabling the Next Generation BranchCisco Canada
This session introduces the Cisco Intelligent WAN (IWAN) solution for providing highly available Enterprise WAN connectivity using less expensive Internet circuits. As the volume of content and applications traveling across networks grows exponentially, organizations must optimize their WAN investments. Cisco Intelligent WAN (IWAN) helps you do just that. IT can use investments in Cisco ISR 4000 Series and ASR 1000 Series Routers to scale to the growing demands of branch-office users by providing an optimal experience over any connection at lower cost. And you can do this without compromising performance, reliability, or security.</p>
During this session, we will explain how IWAN, will allow customers to quickly roll out bandwidth-intensive applications, such as video, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), and guest Wi-Fi services. And it doesn’t matter which transport model you prefer, whether MPLS, the Internet, cellular, or a hybrid WAN access model. The savings from IWAN often pay for the branch infrastructure investments, and may also free up resources for new, innovative business services.
SP Virtual Managed Services (VMS) for Intelligent WAN (IWAN)Cisco Canada
Many organizations anticipate significant growth in WAN bandwidth and Public Cloud usage. Leveraging the Internet to provide extra WAN bandwidth and to offload Public Cloud traffic is compelling, however network reliability, application performance and security are the primary roadblocks. Cisco IWAN transport solution is the most full featured architecture to support the Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) requirements that are emerging in standards bodies like the Open Networking User Group (ONUG) to address these issues. Many enterprises are looking for the benefits these technologies deliver, but without the costs associated with owning and operating those technologies. Here is where VMS for IWAN meets market need. Cisco VMS is a full featured management platform for both virtual and physical devices. This session will cover a full description of the VMS platform and how it can be used to deliver exceptional customer experience when supporting a managed offering of IWAN. The roles of Customer and Resource Facing Services will be covered, along with integration between the IWAN service and SP operations. This session will also cover the topic of how Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) can be placed optimally in the network from the CPE to SP datacenter, along with a demo of the end user and operator experience.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.

Automobile Management System Project Report.pdfKamal Acharya
The proposed project is developed to manage the automobile in the automobile dealer company. The main module in this project is login, automobile management, customer management, sales, complaints and reports. The first module is the login. The automobile showroom owner should login to the project for usage. The username and password are verified and if it is correct, next form opens. If the username and password are not correct, it shows the error message.
When a customer search for a automobile, if the automobile is available, they will be taken to a page that shows the details of the automobile including automobile name, automobile ID, quantity, price etc. “Automobile Management System” is useful for maintaining automobiles, customers effectively and hence helps for establishing good relation between customer and automobile organization. It contains various customized modules for effectively maintaining automobiles and stock information accurately and safely.
When the automobile is sold to the customer, stock will be reduced automatically. When a new purchase is made, stock will be increased automatically. While selecting automobiles for sale, the proposed software will automatically check for total number of available stock of that particular item, if the total stock of that particular item is less than 5, software will notify the user to purchase the particular item.
Also when the user tries to sale items which are not in stock, the system will prompt the user that the stock is not enough. Customers of this system can search for a automobile; can purchase a automobile easily by selecting fast. On the other hand the stock of automobiles can be maintained perfectly by the automobile shop manager overcoming the drawbacks of existing system.
