Inferential and Descriptive Statistics
Before we continue the discussion about the basic descriptive data elements that are needed to
answer the question I previously posed, it is important to understand what we mean by descriptive
statistics. Descriptive statistics describe the features of the data collected. In other words,
descriptive statisticsdescribe what the data looks like, but it does not tell you why or how data
elements interact or influence one another. Descriptive statistics provide a defender with
summaries about the data collected and these summaries may be either quantitative or visual.
Quantitative descriptive statistics are the sum of data points that are usually reported as total
numbers or averages in a report. For example, defender offices can use descriptive statistics to
determine the total of open felony cases per attorney in one year or say that on average they had
x number of open cases in the last two years. These are considered to be summaries of caseloads
that describe the data collected but it does not tell you if a certain variable (number of cases
opened in this example) has an influence (or is correlated) with the final outcome of a case.
When we say that a variable is correlated we mean that the knowledge of a certain variable
(caseload numbers) can allow you to consistently predict the action of another (final dispositional
outcomes). For example, if you mix two hydrogen and one oxygen (H20), you get water. We know
that every time you have the interaction of these

John B Watson s Little Albert Experiment
Stage 1 Psychology
John B Watson and Rosalie Rayner and Little Albert Experiment
Ethics are guidelines that differentiate between right and wrong behaviour. It defines what is good
and what is bad in terms of human behaviour, therefore being ethical means doing what society
accepts. Ethics in research are important because a being s safety and rights can be harmed without
it. (Deakin, 2015) Ethics is important in psychology in order to protect participants and the
reputation of psychology and psychologists. (Velasquez, 2010) The guidelines help minimise harm
towards those involved. In this essay the experiment Little Albert will be summarised, ethical
principles that were breached will be discussed and the experiment will be redesigned ... Show more

Number one Respect the dignity and wellbeing of participants and number two Ensure that research
is designed to maximise any benefits to participants and society, and to minimise risks of possible
harm or discomfort . The dignity and wellbeing of Albert were not respected during this experiment
as they did not decondition him, therefore he may have been emotionally or psychologically
harmed. (DeAngelis, 2010) Number four Obtain voluntary written consent and number nine
Respect the right of individuals not to participate or to withdraw from the research at any time
without explanation , Watson did not seek permission from Albert or his mother, and therefore no
written consent was retrieved. Albert was unable to withdraw and the withdrawal rights were not
explained to his mother. (Wikispaces, 2014) Watson did not protect personal information because he
published the results of the experiment without ensuring Little Albert would remain anonymous,
therefore breaching the fifth and seventh guideline. (Bandiera, 2015)
This experiment could be redone in a more ethical way with the current ethical guidelines. However,
the whole experiment is unethical as Watson uses a young child for his experiment. Even if we
used animals it is still unethical and inaccurate. Watson could have informed the Albert s mother
that she could withdraw from the experiment

Growth In Mexico
Economic Growth in Mexico
Over the years there have been certain countries that are rising economically. They are taking the
leadership role, and filling in gaps that are slacking from other countries, one of which is Mexico.
They have been rising economically for decades now. They specialize and excel in the areas of
importing, exporting, and trading. Recently they have been developing and exceling quickly.
Mexico s economy has developed rapidly causing them to move up on the charts with being one of
the biggest importing and exporting countries in the world.
Mexico has been rising among other economies according to multiple sources including the ones
cited. Mexico used to be one of the poorest countries in the world, but in recent decades ... Show

Also they have become major import and exporters to various countries. Mexico has outdone
some countries especially when it comes to the automotive industry (United 23). The
automotive industry accounts for approximately 20.3% of their manufacturing (United 23). It
also makes up about 3.6% of the national GDP in Mexico (United 23). Mexico has not only
surpassed South Korea, but they have also passed Brazil, and they are now the sixth largest
worldwide vehicle producer (United 23). This has taken them not only to the top for just rising
economies, but now they are known worldwide for some of the best vehicles and automotive
parts. Ten manufacturers are in Mexico currently, including General Motors, Chrysler, Ford,
Nissan, Fiat, Renault, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Mazda. (United 23). They now have this
expertise in exporting because they have improved access to international markets ( Why 1). Not
only that but, they have also gained more skilled laborers, and they now have competitive
production costs ( Why 1). Lastly, Mexico has also strengthened their democratic governance (
Why 1). These have all played major factors in the success of Mexico, and that is what brought
them to the top. Mexico s economy has increased around 83% in overall income in the last couple
years ( The 1). Their main income comes from exports. The top five export destinations for Mexico
are of course number one being the United States with 70% of exports, and number two being
Canada with 5.4% (Simoes 1). Number three of five top exporting countries for Mexico is Spain
with 2.1%, number four is China with 2%, and five of five is Colombia with 1.8%, so the
researcher can see the United States is by far the largest exporting country for Mexico, but others
play in (Simoes 1). Overall Mexico has grown over the past years and decades. They have not only
become a large economic partner, meaning a trader or importer

Narrative Essay About Disneyland
My summer was really great this year, we went to Disneyland for my brother and I s birthday. It
was a really long drive to get to the Disney hotel that we were staying at, but it was totally worth
the wait though. While we were driving we saw a bunch of beautiful and fascinating things. We
left earlier in the Morning so we got to see the sunrise, and let me tell you, it was amazing, one of
the prettiest things I had ever seen. We stopped by a few places at the beginning of our trip so
we could pick up some snacks to eat on the way. My brother, Kristopher, fell asleep within the
first hour we were driving. I was listening to music, looking out the window, and snacking on a
small bag of Takis. My dad surprised us on the way when we went to go eat pizza from Little
Caesars. I know that doesn t sound like much of a surprise but I absolutely love Little Caesars
pizza. I probably like it more than most people to be honest. We finished most of our pizza
taking the leftover pieces with us back to the car. I was feeling pretty tired so I dozed off while
listening to Shawn Mendes. I woke up to a louder song blasting through my headphones. I
turned down my volume and switched the song. I checked my Google Maps and it said that we
were about halfway to the park. After than I checked my Snapchat and opened a Snap from
Gabby. The bright pink words across a picture of her and her sister read, Can t wait to get to

The influence the social media, self esteem, diet and sex have on body image dissatisfaction.
ABSTRACT
The influence the social media, self esteem, diet and sex have on body image dissatisfaction was
investigated using a multiple regression method. The four predictor variables were sex; social
media; diet; and self esteem, the criterion variable was body image dissatisfaction. The study
consisted of 50 participants, 35 females and 15 males. All participants were given a self report
questionnaire, which contained 16 questions that measured the four predictor variables and the
criterion variable. The findings revealed that the social media, diet and self esteem had a
significant relationship with body image dissatisfaction, however sex was a non significant
predictor of body image dissatisfaction. The results imply that the social media, low self esteem and
dieting results to high levels of body image dissatisfaction.
INTRODUCTION
Body image dissatisfaction is arising in modern society, amongst all sexes due to the media
promoting ideal bodily features. Western culture has consistently emphasized, through the media
that the ideal body figure for a woman is to be thin (Thompson

James Rosenquist and Kehinde Wiley
There are two American artists whose works are unique and contemporary: James Rosenquist, one
of the frontiers of American pop art movement, and Kehinde Wiley, the artist who combines art
history and heroic with black politic. The images that come into your mind when you think about
Rosenquist s work are collages. With his method of using sweet color, dislocated images, and
billboard painting style, James Rosenquist has created his distinct and striking works. Kehinde
Wiley, a Los Angeles artist, also has a remarkable style of painting. His works are filled with
knowledge of art history. He combines the realism, pattern, and rich color to create his own style.

Meaning Of Family In Famil Radio
The meaning of family may vary according to different individuals. In agreement to the Urban
Dictionary, family refers to a group of people of the same bloodline who sincerely love, trust, and
care about. Family can be all the descendants of a common ancestors or a group of parents or
children living in the same home. Each of these examples are true definitions of what familyis
considered. When most people here the word family he or she thinks of their parents, siblings, or
even aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. There is more than one way to define family.
My meaning of family is a group of people no matter ancestry or marriage who genuinely supports
one another. C. Joybell C. stated, Family is family, and is not determined by marriage
certificates, divorce papers, and adoption documents. Families are made in the heart. It is the
bond I share with an individual who cares the most for me. Today many people I associate with
consider family to be people from their bloodline. I consider it as the bonds you share with those
who care the most for a person. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay on Ethics of Earnings Management
I enjoyed the conversation on GAAP and earnings management relating to the case Be Careful
What You Wish For: From the Middle . The conversation was brief, but got me thinking on the
ethics of earnings management. GAAP accounting is to reflect in good faith the company s actual
financial status and present reality as is. It is not to present a manipulated set of numbers that paint
a pretty picture. GAAPrequires recording of revenue when there is persuasive evidence of an
arrangement, assurance of collectability, a fixed or determinable price, and delivery. If Sarah
recognizes revenue before delivery, she would violate GAAP and partake in channel stuffing. It
would not be earnings management. In my opinion, there is a fine line... Show more content on

Although her actions would not violate GAAP, it would allow revenue to be manipulated to
paint a pretty picture for third party users. I feel earnings management is saying, I know what
the ending needs to be. What can I do to achieve this end? What loophole exists? Ultimately, if
there is intent to deceive, I believe earnings management is unethical. The case Is This My
Place?...Speaking UP has been the hardest for me. I have found it difficult to decide what I
would do if I were in Ben s situation. I know it is wrong for donors to inflate the value of their
donations, but I would be afraid to say anything out of fear they might stop donating to the
organization. Knowing my manager was aware of the overstated donations and did not care
would make matters worse. Unless I had a clear plan to present to him, I would remain quiet. If
donations stopped, individuals in need of medical supplies would suffer. In weighing the options, I
see the pros and cons of each side. By letting donors continue to overstate donation amounts, donors
remain happy, the organization continues to receive donations, and those in need benefit. On the
other hand, if someone does not put a stop to the overstatements, they could continue indefinitely
and grow bigger over time. Additionally, if the IRS were to find out, the not for profit s reputation
would be tainted and donors

Cyrano De Bergerac Analysis
France is usually equated with love and romance, and a love triangle is especially a favourite of
most audiences. The French movie Cyrano de Bergerac, an 1990 adaptation of the original 19th
century play of the same title, is going to satisfy the appetites of those who are hooked on
everything about loveand French literature. Cyrano de Bergeracis a comedic remake of the same
play, except with exceptional cast members, completed with supremely poetic dialogues. Even if
you are not a fan of French poetry, the opulent costumes and enchanting music will surely bewitch
your aesthetic senses. Director Jean Paul Rappaneau intended this 2 hours, 18 minutes, PG rated
dramatic comedy to feed the eyes and ears of young adults. His cinematic adaptation remained
loyal to the original play: the movie starts off with the hero of the story Cyrano (Gerard
Depardieu) falling in love with his cousin Roxane (Anne Brochet). Our unfortunate hero was born
with an absurdly large nose, which makes Cyrano ferociously convinced that Roxane will never
grow to love him. This changes when Christian (Vincent Perez), a colleague of Cyrano in the same

The classical music suits the 17th century time period of the story, and accentuates the enduring
passion that permeates the film. Other than the music, the elegant costumes can be viewed as an
independent collection of artwork; in fact, the film s costume designer Franca Squarciapino
received the Academy Award for Best Costume Design at the 1990 Academy Awards. The acting
was as expected from French actors, passionate and dramatic, stirring sentiments of sympathy
towards Cyrano. Depardieu, in particular, presented to the audience a gallant and brilliant Cyrano,
as if the character has played as himself in the movie. The peach faced Brochet was tailored to the
character, as if Roxane was created just for her, not the other way

Seligman s Theory Of Learned Helplessness
Learned helplessness refers to an organism learning to accept and endure an aversive stimulus that
it cannot escape even when it is avoidable. This theory shows that having some control over our
lives is preferable to no control at all. Based on the original theory of learned helplessness, one of
the key factors in Seligman s theory were uncontrollability and repeated cruelty or neglect. Based
on many experiments done by Seligman, controllability determines if one is suffering from learned
helplessness. This often leads to perceived lack of control and may lead to helpless behaviour
(Abramson, Seligman Teasdale, 1978). Also, repeated cruelty or neglect contributes to the key
factors in Seligman s theory. It involves aversive stimulus that... Show more content on

Once again, dogs in both groups were given electric shocks. However, the reaction was very
different as the dogs in Group two did not try to escape and whimpered instead.
Later, Seligman (1974) introduced the Learned Helplessness Theory of Depression. Seligman
saw the behaviour of these animals which might apply similarly to human depression. Animals
exposed to unavoidable shock showed passivity, in which Seligman felt in line with the typical
behaviour of depression. Other similar symptom were lack of appetite and weight loss (Rehm,
1990). However, one part of learned helplessness that did not occur in animals was the process of
demonstrating learned helplessness through vicarious learning (Bandura, 1986). There were other
differences in the human models of learned helplessness as compared to the animal models such
as shocks due to ethical concerns. Therefore, researches used variables such as loud noises as the
aversive event. Participants were given solvable or unsolvable tasks and were exposed to a loud
noise. Participants in unsolvable tasks failed in attempting to escape the loud noise. Other research
has also been able to induce learned helplessness in human participants with different types of

The And The French Revolution
Casper David Friedrich was a German Romantic artist in the nineteenth century that is most known
for his landscape paintings that display the romantic ideals of individualism, nature, physical and
emotional passion and an interest in the mysteries of the world. Where did these ideals of
Romanticism begin? Taking a look back into the 17th century, there was another intellectual
movement that changed society, culture and politics. The Enlightenment was a time period lasting
throughout the 18th century which brought about the Age of Reason in which politics, philosophy,
and science dominated in Europe. The philosophies of the Enlightenment placed emphasis on
rational and scientific thought and viewed the natural world as one that is governed mathematically
and by scientific laws which could be understood by humankind. The Enlightened philosophies
brought about this drastic change in all aspects of society which influenced the several revolutions
of that time period such as the American and the French revolutions. After the French Revolution,
the concepts of the Old Regime and traditions of the past in Europe were abolished while new
concepts introduced by the Enlightenment were being implemented in all areas of politics, culture
and society. This left Europe in a state of two opposing worlds one that still appreciated the
traditions of the past and one that was ready for new ideas of the future. Out of this chaos is where
the ideology of Romanticismdeveloped and thrived in

Within this work, Freud had written the beginnings of his extensive theories on the human psyche
and what goes on in the subconscious mind (McLeod, Saul, Sigmund Freud s Theories ). Freud s
most credible work is that of the unconscious mind. He proposed that there are three levels of the
mind s consciousness: the Conscious, Preconscious/Subconscious, and the
Unconscious (McLeod, Saul, Sigmund Freud s Theories ). The Conscious is the waking mind in
which real time thought processes that one is aware of are occurring (McLeod, Saul, Sigmund
Freud s Theories ). The Preconscious or Subconscious is the waking mind from which memories
can be called; it functions as storage and one is not necessarily aware of its processes (McLeod,
Saul, Sigmund Freud s Theories ). The Unconscious is the deepest level of the mind that one is
unaware of; it supposedly harbors strong desires and suppressed experiences that unknowingly
influence the waking mind (McLeod, Saul, Sigmund Freud s Theories ). All three of these come
together to form the person to which they belong, and both influence and are influenced by the
Ego, Superego, and ID (McLeod, Saul, Sigmund Freud s Theories ). The Ego, Superego, and ID
are three pieces of the mind that determine one s moral capacity, thoughts, and actions (McLeod,

Stylistic Devices In The Giant Wistaria
Final Analysis Writers of works of literature have long employed various stylistic devices to execute
their literary objectives. Some of these stylistic devices include but are not limited to the use of
settings, theme, and characters. Furthermore, such works can be analyzed, understood and
interpreted through the lens of theories such as Feminism, Post colonialism, and Existentialism. The
use of various stylistic devices in service of the exploration of various literary theories serves to
make literature vibrant, richer, and much more useful to the society in which the work is produced.
Through the use of the mentioned stylistic devices, writers are able to demonstrate links that exist
between their works of literature and theories such as Feminism, Post colonialism, and
Existentialism.
Analyzing The Giant Wistaria Using the Feminism Theory Feminism, as a movement, can be
defined as the struggle that seeks to do away with institutionalized patriarchy. Additionally, it has
the aim of championing for the social, political, economic, and cultural equality between the sexes.
In doing this, feminism permeates all levels of society and cannot, therefore, be restricted to
specific disciplines. This is how ideas of Feminism abound in literature. ... Show more content on

Neverland Fire Department Case Study
The Neverland Volunteer Fire Department is facing multiple challenges. Not only the possibility
of amalgamation within the Horizon County is pending over the Fire Department, it seems to be
affecting department head officials to a point where unity of command is really fragile. The
internal problems that we see happening is causing a lack of respect between firefighters and
higher ups and even between managers itself. Not only respect is fundamental in a fire service
but it is also essential to maintain a professional level of services. The first thing that I ve noticed
was the lack of confidentiality at the firehouse. For any reason, the conversation between Deputy
Chief Emerson and Miss Shaver should not have been heard by any staff members from Station 3.
When confidentiality is compromised, the level of respect between firefighters and officers will

own countries and how much land will be under their names. Without certain people and
important events that happened during the Shakespeare s era the history back in the day would
be totally different. For the first fifteen years from 1558 1573 a lot of events broke out in Europe. It
all starts off in 1558. England had much of France back in the day, but in 1558 that changed. The
last piece of territory England had in France, Calais, they lost possession to (Alchin 8). Queen
Mary I died on November 17, 1558. This was a big loss for England as she was... Show more

Henry IV decided to declare war on Spain in 1595. Sadly on January 28, 1596 the great sailor

1603 as Queen Elizabeth I dies on March 23, 1603. The last fifteen years were not as eventful as
the first thirty years were, but this is where the whole era ends and moves on to a new one. A lot
of important events happened around the world during Shakespeare s time period. In the thirty
years a lot of war went down, new Kings and Queens were named, and many dynasties were
formed. War had to had happen in order to resolve problems between countries. No matter how

U.S. Foreign Policy From 1890-1930. American Foreign Policy
U.S. Foreign policy from 1890 1930
American foreign policy from 1890 1930 was driven primarily by our businesslike economic
and strategic considerations based on American self interest. With westward expansion over,
there had to be a new way for the United States to continue expansion. In the name of
maintaining our innovative spirit and political ideology, our conquest for money, resources and
trade took us outside of our borders for the first time. After all, how could we continue this
upward monetary and resource tick if we didn t expand? All countries are very self centered and
driven by their own success, and ours is no different in this respect. Going from a country that
could large in part be ignored, to a real world power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1890 the government passed the Naval Act and began to build. Nearly ten years later our fleet
had grown to 160 vessels, with 6 of those being battleships. This aggressive approach to a bigger
navy brought us from worst to third ranked world power, only behind Spain and Great Britain.
During this same time, another influential territory was Hawaii. With American businessman being
captivated by its lucrative sugar industry, we quickly made several trade agreements causing nearly
all of Hawaii s sugar production to be exported to the United States.
The Spanish American War was a war focused on control over Cuba. As previously stated, Spain
touted a powerful navy, victory would cause the entire world to notice and give the United
States a seat at the international table. Americans took notice of Spanish brutality to Cuban
uprisings attempting to gain freedom and were sympathetic to the Cuban people. Fighting for
our independence was fresh on the minds of Americans who began to support Cuban freedom
from Spain. Dispatching the USS Maine off the coast of Cuba proved to be a fateful strategic
move made by President McKinley because just days after on February 15th 1898 the ship was
destroyed, killing over 250 sailors. Although believed to be an accident, yellow journalists ran

Pros And Cons Of The Vietnam Veterans Memorial
Hajdik 1
Concept, Controversy, and Commemoration:
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial
No war in American history not fought on American soil can claim to have as big an impact on
America as a whole than the Vietnam War. The social and political divisions caused by the war
changed America as a nation and especially changed those who fought in it. Despite the sacrifices
of these veterans, both those who returned and those who did not, Americans on both sides forgot
or even vilified those who fought, either as losers or as tokens of an unjust war. To remedy this
problem through reconciliation and honor those who died in Vietnam, a group of veterans
campaigned to build a national memorial in Washington, D.C. From its original design to the present

A representative for the Pentagon, whom the veterans thought would offer strong support for
the memorial, essentially said, Why should we build a memorial to losers? (Scruggs 30). Some
politicians and others agreed, calling the veterans crybabies who should receive less from the
government (Scruggs 31). Many Americans, however, especially veterans and those who had
lost loved ones in the war, strongly supported the memorial. Tens of thousands of letters thanking
the Fund and offering support accompanied widely varying donations to the memorial, such as
one that said, The whole town turned out for the funeral for he was the only boy who died there
from this small town but there it ended. There is no recognition of his death anywhere so far as
the town he grew up in is concerned. (Scruggs 26). Some that supported the Memorial were even
a part of those who had condemned the war I opposed the war. I marched (and prayed) for peace. I
counseled C.O.s. But I will never, never forget what so many gave of what they had for what they
believed. And many of these, tragically, were the best we had. (Scruggs 27). To those at the
Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund receiving the letters, both supporting and condemning, they
showed equal amounts of the pain that ran deeply through America, and they began to work harder
at their attempt to heal this

Climate Change And The Ice Age
Climate change. It is a continuously growing issue today. However, it is not a new phenomenon. In
fact, climate change has been occurring for tens of thousands of years. It began around twenty
thousand years ago when the Earth was in the Ice Age, an era when the planet was entirely frozen.
When the Ice Age ended, climatechange was underway and human lifestyle began to experience
great transformations. These alterations have allowed humans to evolve from hunters and gatherers
into a more diversified society, one where they thrived more than ever before. Due to climate
change, human beings migrated to the Americasand developed technologies, languages, and
agricultural methods to organize their societies from 14,000 BCE to 1400 CE.During the Ice Age,
humans were mostly present in Africa, Asia, and Europe only. However, global migration became
a more convenient journey because of climate change. For instance, the melting of ice made it
possible for humans to migrate over a land bridge, which is covered by the Bering Strait today,
from Asia to North Americaabout twenty thousand years ago. From the opposite side of the Old
World, the Norse, more commonly known as the Vikings, were able to sail from Europe to North
America in the eleventh century and colonize the islands of Greenland and Newfoundland Such
journeys, as with nearly every migration taking place at the time, were all possible because of
expeditiously increasing temperatures. As much as migration was

Why Do Gender-Typed Picture Books Exist In Children
The proposed research is designed to systematically examine whether preference for gender
typed picture books exist in children and how gender typed illustrations in picture books may
affect children s performance on recall tasks. Participants will be 40 three to five year old
children, half male and half female. They will go through a choice trial in which they will choose
from two picture books that typed with male and female, respectively. Then they will participate in
recall tasks after reading each bookto examine how much of the story they are able to remember. It
is predicted that preferencefor gendertyped picture books will exist in children; and gender typed
illustrations will affect children s performance in recall tasks. The proposed research will provide
important information for parents and teachers regarding which books to choose for their children
to read both at home and in the classroom.

Investigate the Behaviour of Organisations and the Market...
Introduction
In this assignment I will identify the structure of markets within the economy and explain how they
deviate from the model of perfect competition. I will also expand on which market forces dominate
the market place, identifying the organisational responses to demand including the adoption of
competitive strategies within the free market. Finally I will explain the role of the competition
commission and regulatory bodies.
Market Types
The most important factor within any market is the number of rivals competing for a share of the
business. Competition, as described by Stigler, G (2008) arises whenever two or more parties strive
for something that all cannot obtain. Perfect competition is seen as a theoretical ideal and ... Show

Market forces
Market forces are primarily concerned with the supply of and demand for goods and services
within the free market. The demand for a good can be influenced by many factors such as price,
available substitutes and a person s income. Price can be one of the primary forces when looking
at the demand for a product, it does however have limitations. Demand may not necessarily rise
if the price drops below a certain level, people will automatically assume an inferior product and
not purchase it. Similarly if a product that is essential to the consumer is priced higher the
demand may not decrease, petrol is a good example of this. In order for us to predict how much
someone is willing to buy at a given price, we must first create a demand schedule, which can be
represented as a demand curve. (Fig 1.)
Fig 1.
It is apparent that as the price of an item increases, the quantity demanded reduces. This is an over
simplification as there are many non price factors affecting demand. The Ceteris paribus clause can
best used to describe this method of analysis.
Non price factors affecting demand
Product substitution occurs when the demand for one product affects the demand of another.
Although price can influence peoples decision to buy a substitute, personal taste, brand loyalty and
demography can influence decisions often more persuasively than price. People s income can also
affect their purchasing habits, often increasing their

Quality Outrage Trauma
Quality outrage is characterized as the demeanor to see an extensive variety of circumstances as
irritating or baffling, and the inclination to react to such circumstances with more regular heights in
state outrage. Spielberger, Jacobs, Russel, Crane (1983) depict characteristic resentment is an
individual emotional demeanor to encounter endless sentiments of indignation regarding time and
crosswise over circumstance. People with high characteristic outrage are inclined to experience
outrage all the more strongly crosswise over circumstances. Spector (2003) and Spielberger (1999)

Argumentative Essay On Truck Drivers
Driving a semi truck isn t the most glamorous job in the world. It requires long hours, days, or
weeks, away from home, and it s physically demanding. Still, there are thousands of truck drivers
across the country that truly wouldn t have it any other way. To these hardy folks, driving a big
rig isn t just a job, it s a way of life. Surely, they must receive some sort of perks that make it all
worth while? Yes, they do. In fact, there are three major benefits of working for an OTR trucking
company that keep drivers rolling along.
Excellent Pay
For the most part, newly licensed truck drivers can expect to enter the job market with a salary of
somewhere around $45,000 the first year. Depending upon the company they work for, and the
cargo they haul, experienced driver s pay can reach six digits. What s more, they often receive
benefits such as a 401K, health insurance, and bonuses. This is exceptional, especially when you
consider the fact that obtaining a commercial driver s license (CDL) takes weeks, rather than
years. Now take into consideration the cost of training, which is literally a couple thousand dollars,
rather than the tens of thousands of dollars a college degree costs. ... Show more content on

CDL holders with a clean record, who are safety conscious and professional are among the most
valuable employees. They can easily move from one company to another, often increasing their
pay along the way. There are also ample opportunities for advancement, such as obtaining a
HAZMAT endorsement, or working in the oil and gas industry, both of which command an even
higher salary. For those that prefer to work on their own, becoming an independent owner/operator
is always an option. This kind of job security is unheard of in most industries.

Car Advantages And Disadvantages
The benefits are there for people who know their own vehicle and know a little on how to fix
certain things on their vehicles. This could be anywhere from a little more than how to change a

your own oil, brake pads, and how to identify an electric or motor issue. With the knowledge on
auto repairs, anyone could get themselves out of tough situations, save time, save money, and
there are easy ways to learn. The practice of auto repairs will eventually make you wiser in how to

The greatest benefit for learning cars is you could very well be saving money. Things you
typically get serviced on are oil changes and tire rotations. All together it could round up to be a
seventy five dollar job. Natalie Spring says, you ll notice that even though parts only cost twenty
five dollars, you were charged three hundred dollars for the mechanic to do the labor to install
that part. That is where they get you, in the cost of labor (Spring). The majority of what s being
charged is the service and not the product . It s a luxury that I m sure if people become more
knowledgeable, they d rather do it themselves and save money.
There are many ways you can learn how to fix car issues. You could find do it yourself (DIY)
articles where non professionals give the basic tips and even motivation. Car repairs can drain
your pocketbook fast, but you can do a wide range of repairs yourself, regardless of your technical
skill. We re not just talking oil changes; provided you can hold a wrench, you can fix everything
ranging from fuel filters to alternators (Klosowski). You could learn by working with a professional
mechanic, read it in a book that is revolved around the make and model of your car, or you can
watch a step by step video on You Tube. I would note that it is important to have a book on the year
and model of your vehicle, because it has a lot of info on car parts you would need.

Railroad Car Advantages And Disadvantages
STRENGTHS
Competitive advantage. The concept of hauling over a hundred railcars with as little as two crew
members allows for a distinct advantage over the trucking industry with regards to fuel and labor
costs.
Space. A large quantity of railcars can be stored in a small area due to track design and the fact
that cars are coupled together in a straight row.
Maintenance costs. While this can also be a weakness, the longevity of assets is typically more than
in other industries. Locomotives can last for 30 40 years with routine maintenance.
Shared Resources. Although railroads compete for business, they also share assets such as
locomotives, trackage rights, and coordinating the labor workforce.

The Basic Idea Underlying Purchasing Power Parity
II. Purchasing Power Parity
i. Intuition
The basic idea underlying purchasing power parity is the law of one price. That is to say, once the
prices of the same bundle of goods in different countries are measured using the same currency, they
should be identical. As a consequence, no arbitrage in equilibrium will force the goods prices to be
equalised internationally.
Consider a situation where there are only 2 countries, say, China with the Chinese yuan as its
currency unit and Japan with the Japanese yen as its currency unit. We can express the exchange rate
as either the number of yuan per yen, or its reciprocal the number of yen per yuan. For instance,
suppose that the exchange rate, defined as the number of yen it takes to buy one ... Show more
content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, for this example, we can see that if PPP holds, there is equalisation in goods prices
internationally.
The key to the appealingness of PPP is that that if PPP is valid, then there is no goods arbitrage,
which indicates that it is impossible that economic agents can gain riskless profit by exploiting
price differences. Suppose the price of the good is 100 CNY in China and 2000 JPY in Japan,
and the exchange rate is 0.01 CNY: 1 JPY. Then this good could be bought for 2000 JPY in Japan
and imported into China (assuming no transportation costs) at selling at a price which when
converted into yuan at the going exchange rate would be 20 yuan (=2000Г—0.01), some 80 yuan
less than the domestic price. In this case, the existence of arbitrage opportunities will force the
exchange rate to be adjusted in order to reflect the relative price of the good in the two countries.
As a result, the exchange rate should adjust to 0.05 CNY: 1 JPY for the sake of ruling out
arbitrage opportunities. It is assumed that there is no transportation costs in this example;
however, even if transportation costs do exist, economic agents may still be able to gain riskless
profit. If the cost of importation is 100 yen per unit, which is equal to 1 yuan at the current
exchange rate, the imported good is still 79 yuan cheaper. ii. Complications of Testing PPP

between 12 and 18 pounds, and added onto this weight with other necessities for the whole
group. The necessities the men carried depended upon a man s rate of metabolism, and their
habits. All the men were required to carry large 5 lb steel helmets, and jungle boots, with a
weight of 2.1 lbs. Another requirement was that all the men carry a steel centered, nylon covered
flak jacket, with a weight of 6.7lbs. In the field, a poncho was a multi purpose treasure, and could
even be used as a body carrier. What the men carried also depended on their rank, and their

Sociological Perspectives On Incense

Functionalist Theorists
Incense are made of all natural materials used for direct burning. Today, and in history, incense are
known to be ritualistic and needed to complete various traditions. Based on my own religion,
Catholic churches often use incense to prepare for prayers and rituals. Incense are used in Catholic
churches mainly during prayers for smell, and for the use of smoke. The aroma of incense are used
to communicate with God, by sending good wishes, and prayers through its rich fragrance.
Conflict Theorists
Many people who aren t religious believe incense are not necessarily needed to complete rituals or
prayers. In other words,

Stereotypes Of Queen Elizabeth 1
Queen Elizabeth I ruled England during a turbulent time in its history. She was beset on all
sides by those who wished to take her throne for themselves, whether it be through marriage or
outright treason. With these threats, as well as the unstable political atmosphere across much of
Europe, Elizabeth I could not afford for others to see her as weak. Although she distances herself
from the stereotypes of women at the time, and even paints herself as a masculine figure to give
herself an aura of strength that would deter potential usurpers, Elizabeth I s language indicates
that she is not ashamed of her femininity. The Renaissance was a point in history where it was
hard for women to hold political power. It was a commonly held belief that women were
inherently inferior monarchs; this was likely reinforced by a significant number of female rulers
failing to successfully rule their nations (Taylor Smither 48). Despite educational opportunities
for noble woman being at an all time high, women who held positions of power had to fight tooth
and nail to retain them (King 78). It was extremely difficult for a woman to inherit the right to
rule, as it required every legitimate male heir to die (King 82). During this period, society saw
powerful women as a threat to the status quo. Such women were vilified because they did what
men did, and triumphantly, (King 78). Nowhere is this as true as with Elizabeth I. She was a queen
that ruled England and ruled it well. Under her reign,

Analysis Of Gangsta Rap By W. A.
1988, That s when the so called Gangsta Rap emerged with the album Straight out of Compton
N.W.A as a huge product that appealed to the younger generation of African Americans since it was
the rawest thing they ve heard, in my opinion, it is as raw as the reality surrounding young African
Americans, which is the reason why it became something huge. The album Straight out of
Compton, N.W.A is one the most successful figures in the hip hop industry by being a classic that
is still being played to this day. The huge success was rewarded by the most important certifications
in the world of music, by being a double platinum which means this it doubled the minimum limit
for the certification of a platinum record by selling more than one million... Show more content on

The first three songs of the Album are a truly unsafe intro to the streets of South central L.A,
Compton. The song F the Police in particular have caused a wide outrage because it came in at a
time when the streets are frustrated with the police for police brutality, harassment, racism, and
being labeled as thugs. The frustration has reached its limits with protests and outrage by the
public when the police refused to provide security for the N.W.A concert tours, as if the police
picked its side against whoever takes part of the movement against its own harassments to the
African American community in Compton. In 1989, a rare scene in the history of music occurred
when the F.B.I notably sent a message to Ruthless Records, the label company for N.W.A,
excoriating the music and all of its content. The message have caused the N.W.A to put it out to
the public, even though it felt like a threat to stop making the music that caused the N.W.A to be
more powerful, mainstream and even noticed outside of the United States for places that go
through same difficulties in life and roughness that the world was totally ignoring. The message
from the FBI is a historical figure in representing the approach by the government to demolish the
rights of the N.W.A group members to freedom of speech even though it invites to fighting the
power, and it is today at the Rock and Roll

Truman s Domestic And Foreign Policies
President Harry S. Truman was born in Lamar, Missouri on May 8, 1884. The son of John
Anderson Truman and Martha Ellen (Young) Truman. Truman s father worked as mule trader and a
farmer while Martha was a musician and homemaker. Young Truman had three siblings growing up
and eventually married his childhood love Bess Wallace on June 28, 1919, (Truman Biography ,
n.d.).
President Harry S. Truman assumed the responsibilities and duties of an American President after
the death of President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1945. Upon his initiation as president Truman was
tasked with what he referred to as the year of decisions, in which he analyzed the war and
formulated logical and cost efficient solutions to end WWII, (Truman Biography , n.d.).
Truman s domestic and foreign policies were created to successfully transition the United States
into a post war or peace time economy while avoiding a nationwide economic depression.
Truman was successful in his goal to transition the nation s economy, but only a select few of his
policies were passed by congress, such as Truman s 21 point program, Fair Deal and Brannan
Program, as well as the Truman Doctrine and Marshall plan, ( Harry S. Truman, n.d.).
The Truman Doctrine was a foreign policy by President Harry S. Truman in response to the British
having removed their aid to parts of Greece and Turkey that were the opposition in a war against
communism influenced by the Soviet Union. Truman s Marshall Plan named after his

The Indian Culture in Slum dog Millionaire
Slum dog Millionaire: Indian Culture
I chose to learn a little bit more about Indian culture, and I thought Slum Dog Millionaire was a
great resource to do so. This movie depicts the story of 2 young Indian boys and their journey in
life through love, hardship, and culture. The story starts out with the two boy living a happy life
with their mother, but when their mother dies from the religious wars they are forced to learn to
fend for themselves. On their journey they let a little girl tag along on their journey. The movie
depicts what starts out to be a struggle to survive then they against all odds makes it out and make
a name for themselves by winning India s version of Who wants to be a millionaire .
Starting to scavenge in the slums of India the movie shows us how different the culture of India is.
There are not many scenes in the movie where I am envious of people living in India. The culture
of India is very different then the culture that I am used to. If kids loose their parents in the war
the movie that would be made after their lives would not be near as exciting as this one. If this
were to happen in the United States we would more than likely put the kids in foster care and
more than likely end up in a nice home and that would be the end of the story. This really shows
what kind of infrastructure that India has.
The Indian culture is built on upon religion. Though the movie that I chose to watch was not
directly about religion it seemed that the camera could

Waiters asking you if everything is ok
Is everything ok? is a standard service question in most restaurants. It is necessary to reinforce
good customer service standards, but in America, it s becoming the bugbear of diners. Call it fear
of legal action in case everything is not ok, the practice has become quite annoying. Many feel it s
overrated since waiters hardly give them time to actually enjoy the meal and service anyway!
Besides the obvious annoyance, many customers feel that if the question is asked too often,
chances are, something is really not quite ok. Sometimes waiters forget tables they have already
served, but customers prefer a greater balance of concern, a measure of privacy. They also want
more time to enjoy the total experience.

flavours are quite classy these days. Lattes are so popular in America; you can get them almost any

Baristas are very innovative with exotic flavoured coffees from places like Ethiopia and Kenya.
Lattes cost as much as $6.00 per cup and Americans drink almost two cups per person per day. As
restaurants jostle for market share, you can get your latte with all sorts of ingredients. Chai, ginger,

Effects Of Food On Food And Food Intake
overeat when food does become available, resulting in chronic ups and downs in food intake that
can contribute to weight gain. Cycles of food restriction or deprivation also can lead to an unhealthy
preoccupation with food and metabolic changes that promote fat storage are all the worse when in
combination with overeating (FoodResearch Action Center, 2015, n.p.). The influx of food one day
and than nothing in the cupboards to eat the next creates an unhealthy connection to food. When
food is present, it should be to strengthen and nourish the body while supplying the much needed
energy to function. But when food is consumed in mass portions and high calories manifest into
low nutritional value the body is overdosed with calories that converts the majority of the meal to
fat.
Some of the most shocking statistics surrounding food insecurities are those pertaining to the
overwhelming amount of food that is wasted. Grocery stores, restaurants and bakeries routinely
throw away large amounts of food that could be donated but there is a perception that this food
could not be donated because there is a liability involved, which is false. Good Samaritan Laws
are in place for those that donate food to remove any risk for legal retribution. Ultimately it is the
bottom line for these food corporations that comes into play and that is there are very little tax
breaks so they can recoup the logistical costs or financial incentive for businesses to donate food.

The Qualities Of A Hero In The SpongebobMovie
A hero is someone few people can be. A hero is someone who is able to do a task no one else can
do and be able to help in situations of need. A hero is someone who puts others people s needs
ahead of his own to do what s good. Someone who has all the qualities of a hero is Spongebob. In
his film The Spongebob Movie Stephen Hillenburguses the character archetype the hero to show
that we as humans need someone to lead us because when we face life s biggest challenges we
need someone to help us out.
Spongebob makes many bold moves in the beginning of the movie. This shows us how
Spongebob is a character who does anything he can to do what he believes is good. Spongebob
says something in the beginning of the film that showed me he was a hero. Yes I might only be a
kid, but I will never stop trying to save mr. Krabs. This showed me his perseverance as people
might doubt him in the beginning of his journey but he will never give up if he thinks he is doing
something good.
Spongebob now faces many challenges during the middle of the film. He doesn t give up though
showing the audience how he will continue to attempt to save the whole city. Patrick says We
can t get to Shell City now. Our car has been stolen and there is no way we will get the crown
and come back in time. Spongebob then exclaims We can t stop now, if we go back Mr Krabs
will die and the whole city will continue to be run by Plankton. He is able to get the strength not
to give up even when it doesn t look like he will be able to save the city he still knows what he has
to do even though he has gone through so much challenges. He was attacked my motorcycle gangs,
guys with mustaches, giant worms, and a Cyclops but he didn t stop fighting.
Spongebob comes back to the city with the king s crown, but there still a problem as Plankton
has turned everyone into slaves. Spongebob then defeats Plankton and he says a powerful
speech showing the audience how he is a hero. I ve learned a lot in the last 6 days, and if there is
one thing that I have learned it is that you are who you are. I know I don t have any mermaid
magic, or manager promotion, or any other thing. None of those can make me more than who I
really am inside, a kid. But I did

The Plan For New Homes
With the economic crash that started in 2007 and continued for a couple years countless men and
woman lost their jobs and homes. Due in part to the ability to over extend themselves they were
maxed out in their credit to debt ratios, struggling just to make ends meet. Thankfully, with the
downfall they experienced, these foreclosure and short sell victims have finally been able to bounce
back. Many today are beginning to enter back into the housing market looking for new homes,
although this time instead of trying to find the max they can afford, they are now more concerned
with the payment they can afford.
These newly educated buyers have learned a few ways to come back stronger than ever and stay
on top thanks to their shortcomings from the past. One of such ways is by a federal program
called The back to work program , which helps out those who lost their homes due to the crash.
This program is federally insured and offers buyers the second chance they need in as little as 12
months after a foreclosure or bankruptcy. The buyermust be able to prove that there was at least a
20% loss in income before the action took place as well. Although many if the victims are afraid to
get back into the game, they are finding more and better ways than ever before.
Another possibility that has become ever increasingly popular is the rent to own option. Rent to
own is really a lease option, which means that the buyer gets the home now and pays monthly rent
for a predetermined amount of

Summary Of This Is Water By David Foster Wallace
There have two pieces of the article I recently read about, which is This is water by David Foster
Wallace, and Letter to a young poet by Rainer Maria Rilke. I will be discussing the contrast
between this two article and tell the audience what they were precisely thinking about life. For
Wallace, he passed commencement speech to share the advice to people who hear at a college
graduation. In his speech, he delivered the reality of how a typical adult life goes. His statement
also talked about decision making, and how all choices will impact our future growth. On the
other hand, Rilke conveys his ideas by wrote the letter to one military student who called
Kappus. In Rilke s letters, I mostly focus on letter eight, because he pays attention to solitude
and how it is essential to be a real artist. There is only through solitude that he will learn personal
truths and he told Kappus to need to trust own feelings and to face what is difficult. Ralike
talked about solitude in letter eight. As I grow older, I gradually understand that everything is
not going smoothly, it is hard. There have many things you cannot be avoided, such as solitude.
Nowadays, solitude already become a regular phenomenon in our daily life, for example, when I
walk on the street, I always saw a person walk alone, eats alone, go shopping alone, or even goes
to concerts alone. As Rilke said, Solitude it always becomes clearer that this is at the bottom, not
something that one can take or

Analysis Of The Castaways Of The Flying Dutchman
A Series for All Lovers of Adventure and Fantasy
For centuries, humans have loved stories, particularly ones they can either relate to or ones that are
plain exciting. The book series The Castaways of the Flying Dutchman falls more into the action
packed side, but it is still well written. Brian Jacques wrote the series, with the first novel
published in 2001 and the last one in 2006, spanning over a three book series. The first one is the
one that named the series, the second book called The Angel s Command, and the author named
the final installment The Voyage of Slaves. The series follows two characters, a boy named Ben
and his dog, Ned, from the beginning when the two of them were unwillingly aboard the famous
ghost ship The Flying Dutchman, before it became the phantom apparition that would haunt
sailors forever. They are saved by an angel, who, recognising how they are pure of heart, sends
them out into the world to spread their generosity. The angle makes them immortal, and the rest
is an account of their adventure as they travel through the world on land and sea. Although they
have a few of the same characters and similar themes, each book brings a different and unique
plot to the whole narrative. For example, in the first novel Ben, Ned, and his new friends in a
late, 19th century village try to save it from being destroyed by an industrial company. But then in
the second novel, Ben and Ned are aboard a pirate ship, escaping from a band of villainous
characters,

Different Kinds Of Coaching Styles
When coaching, is it better to be all bark and no bite, all bite and no bark, or a little bit of both?
Over his 17 year span of life, Robert has experienced all different kinds of coaching styles. Every
coach has their own fresh style of coaching, but to broaden the styles, they will be divided into
two techniques: aggressive coaches and passive coaches. Most coaches utilize a mixture of both
styles, but those two styles are the most effective. Each type of coachapproaches how their
relationship with their playersshould be differently. They also use different ways to make each
player execute the material to what they think is sufficient. As most things in life, both styles of
coachingdon t always work perfectly. The coach s main... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The coach will embarrass players in front of the whole team by yelling out what they re doing
wrong and forcing them to correct it on their own. None of the players want to stand out in a bad
way to the coach, knowing they will not receive positive advice. In any drill the goal is not to be
last. They work as hard as they can to not catch the attention of the coach. When Robert would
play football the coaches wouldn t direct much aggressiveness to him since he was only the
kicker and he knew his assignment, but he experienced it among the rest of the team. On his
walk from the soccer to the football field, which is on opposite sides of the school, he could hear
the coaches screaming at the players the whole way. They demand the best out of each player,
and if the player is not willing to give it, they will be punished with some sort of dreadful,
physical activity. Typically, passive coaches interact with his or her team as a parental figure.
The players usually trust and respect the coach more, and will do what is asked of them solely
because they respect the coach and don t want to let him or her down. In Robert s situation, Todd
Maas acted as the team s father. He and the rest of the team would go to great lengths to impress,
and keep Maas happy.
Aggressive coaches on the other hand do not seek friendship with the players but mainly a

  • 2. Inferential and Descriptive Statistics Before we continue the discussion about the basic descriptive data elements that are needed to answer the question I previously posed, it is important to understand what we mean by descriptive statistics. Descriptive statistics describe the features of the data collected. In other words, descriptive statisticsdescribe what the data looks like, but it does not tell you why or how data elements interact or influence one another. Descriptive statistics provide a defender with summaries about the data collected and these summaries may be either quantitative or visual. Quantitative descriptive statistics are the sum of data points that are usually reported as total numbers or averages in a report. For example, defender offices can use descriptive statistics to determine the total of open felony cases per attorney in one year or say that on average they had x number of open cases in the last two years. These are considered to be summaries of caseloads that describe the data collected but it does not tell you if a certain variable (number of cases opened in this example) has an influence (or is correlated) with the final outcome of a case. When we say that a variable is correlated we mean that the knowledge of a certain variable (caseload numbers) can allow you to consistently predict the action of another (final dispositional outcomes). For example, if you mix two hydrogen and one oxygen (H20), you get water. We know that every time you have the interaction of these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. John B Watson s Little Albert Experiment Stage 1 Psychology John B Watson and Rosalie Rayner and Little Albert Experiment Ethics are guidelines that differentiate between right and wrong behaviour. It defines what is good and what is bad in terms of human behaviour, therefore being ethical means doing what society accepts. Ethics in research are important because a being s safety and rights can be harmed without it. (Deakin, 2015) Ethics is important in psychology in order to protect participants and the reputation of psychology and psychologists. (Velasquez, 2010) The guidelines help minimise harm towards those involved. In this essay the experiment Little Albert will be summarised, ethical principles that were breached will be discussed and the experiment will be redesigned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Number one Respect the dignity and wellbeing of participants and number two Ensure that research is designed to maximise any benefits to participants and society, and to minimise risks of possible harm or discomfort . The dignity and wellbeing of Albert were not respected during this experiment as they did not decondition him, therefore he may have been emotionally or psychologically harmed. (DeAngelis, 2010) Number four Obtain voluntary written consent and number nine Respect the right of individuals not to participate or to withdraw from the research at any time without explanation , Watson did not seek permission from Albert or his mother, and therefore no written consent was retrieved. Albert was unable to withdraw and the withdrawal rights were not explained to his mother. (Wikispaces, 2014) Watson did not protect personal information because he published the results of the experiment without ensuring Little Albert would remain anonymous, therefore breaching the fifth and seventh guideline. (Bandiera, 2015) This experiment could be redone in a more ethical way with the current ethical guidelines. However, the whole experiment is unethical as Watson uses a young child for his experiment. Even if we used animals it is still unethical and inaccurate. Watson could have informed the Albert s mother that she could withdraw from the experiment ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They are taking the leadership role, and filling in gaps that are slacking from other countries, one of which is Mexico. They have been rising economically for decades now. They specialize and excel in the areas of importing, exporting, and trading. Recently they have been developing and exceling quickly. Mexico s economy has developed rapidly causing them to move up on the charts with being one of the biggest importing and exporting countries in the world. Mexico has been rising among other economies according to multiple sources including the ones cited. Mexico used to be one of the poorest countries in the world, but in recent decades ... Mexico has outdone some countries especially when it comes to the automotive industry (United 23). The automotive industry accounts for approximately 20.3% of their manufacturing (United 23). It also makes up about 3.6% of the national GDP in Mexico (United 23). Mexico has not only surpassed South Korea, but they have also passed Brazil, and they are now the sixth largest worldwide vehicle producer (United 23). This has taken them not only to the top for just rising economies, but now they are known worldwide for some of the best vehicles and automotive parts. Ten manufacturers are in Mexico currently, including General Motors, Chrysler, Ford, Nissan, Fiat, Renault, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Mazda. (United 23). They now have this expertise in exporting because they have improved access to international markets ( Why 1). Not only that but, they have also gained more skilled laborers, and they now have competitive production costs ( Why 1). Lastly, Mexico has also strengthened their democratic governance ( Why 1). These have all played major factors in the success of Mexico, and that is what brought them to the top. Mexico s economy has increased around 83% in overall income in the last couple years ( The 1). Their main income comes from exports. The top five export destinations for Mexico are of course number one being the United States with 70% of exports, and number two being Canada with 5.4% (Simoes 1). Number three of five top exporting countries for Mexico is Spain with 2.1%, number four is China with 2%, and five of five is Colombia with 1.8%, so the researcher can see the United States is by far the largest exporting country for Mexico, but others play in (Simoes 1). • 5. Narrative Essay About Disneyland My summer was really great this year, we went to Disneyland for my brother and I s birthday. It was a really long drive to get to the Disney hotel that we were staying at, but it was totally worth the wait though. While we were driving we saw a bunch of beautiful and fascinating things. We left earlier in the Morning so we got to see the sunrise, and let me tell you, it was amazing, one of the prettiest things I had ever seen. We stopped by a few places at the beginning of our trip so we could pick up some snacks to eat on the way. My brother, Kristopher, fell asleep within the first hour we were driving. I was listening to music, looking out the window, and snacking on a small bag of Takis. My dad surprised us on the way when we went to go eat pizza from Little Caesars. I know that doesn t sound like much of a surprise but I absolutely love Little Caesars pizza. I probably like it more than most people to be honest. We finished most of our pizza taking the leftover pieces with us back to the car. I was feeling pretty tired so I dozed off while listening to Shawn Mendes. I woke up to a louder song blasting through my headphones. I turned down my volume and switched the song. I checked my Google Maps and it said that we were about halfway to the park. After than I checked my Snapchat and opened a Snap from Gabby. The bright pink words across a picture of her and her sister read, Can t wait to get to Florida! The findings revealed that the social media, diet and self esteem had a significant relationship with body image dissatisfaction, however sex was a non significant predictor of body image dissatisfaction. The results imply that the social media, low self esteem and dieting results to high levels of body image dissatisfaction. • 9. Essay on Ethics of Earnings Management I enjoyed the conversation on GAAP and earnings management relating to the case Be Careful What You Wish For: From the Middle . The conversation was brief, but got me thinking on the ethics of earnings management. GAAP accounting is to reflect in good faith the company s actual financial status and present reality as is. It is not to present a manipulated set of numbers that paint a pretty picture. GAAPrequires recording of revenue when there is persuasive evidence of an arrangement, assurance of collectability, a fixed or determinable price, and delivery. Ultimately, if there is intent to deceive, I believe earnings management is unethical. The case Is This My Place?...Speaking UP has been the hardest for me. I have found it difficult to decide what I would do if I were in Ben s situation. I know it is wrong for donors to inflate the value of their donations, but I would be afraid to say anything out of fear they might stop donating to the organization. Knowing my manager was aware of the overstated donations and did not care would make matters worse. Unless I had a clear plan to present to him, I would remain quiet. If donations stopped, individuals in need of medical supplies would suffer. In weighing the options, I see the pros and cons of each side. By letting donors continue to overstate donation amounts, donors remain happy, the organization continues to receive donations, and those in need benefit. On the other hand, if someone does not put a stop to the overstatements, they could continue indefinitely and grow bigger over time. Additionally, if the IRS were to find out, the not for profit s reputation would be tainted and donors ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The French movie Cyrano de Bergerac, an 1990 adaptation of the original 19th century play of the same title, is going to satisfy the appetites of those who are hooked on everything about loveand French literature. Cyrano de Bergeracis a comedic remake of the same play, except with exceptional cast members, completed with supremely poetic dialogues. Even if you are not a fan of French poetry, the opulent costumes and enchanting music will surely bewitch your aesthetic senses. Director Jean Paul Rappaneau intended this 2 hours, 18 minutes, PG rated dramatic comedy to feed the eyes and ears of young adults. His cinematic adaptation remained loyal to the original play: the movie starts off with the hero of the story Cyrano (Gerard Depardieu) falling in love with his cousin Roxane (Anne Brochet). The acting was as expected from French actors, passionate and dramatic, stirring sentiments of sympathy towards Cyrano. This theory shows that having some control over our lives is preferable to no control at all. Based on the original theory of learned helplessness, one of the key factors in Seligman s theory were uncontrollability and repeated cruelty or neglect. Based on many experiments done by Seligman, controllability determines if one is suffering from learned helplessness. This often leads to perceived lack of control and may lead to helpless behaviour (Abramson, Seligman Teasdale, 1978). Later, Seligman (1974) introduced the Learned Helplessness Theory of Depression. Seligman saw the behaviour of these animals which might apply similarly to human depression. Animals exposed to unavoidable shock showed passivity, in which Seligman felt in line with the typical behaviour of depression. Other similar symptom were lack of appetite and weight loss (Rehm, 1990). However, one part of learned helplessness that did not occur in animals was the process of demonstrating learned helplessness through vicarious learning (Bandura, 1986). There were other differences in the human models of learned helplessness as compared to the animal models such as shocks due to ethical concerns. Therefore, researches used variables such as loud noises as the aversive event. Participants were given solvable or unsolvable tasks and were exposed to a loud noise. Participants in unsolvable tasks failed in attempting to escape the loud noise. Other research has also been able to induce learned helplessness in human participants with different types of ... The And The French Revolution Casper David Friedrich was a German Romantic artist in the nineteenth century that is most known for his landscape paintings that display the romantic ideals of individualism, nature, physical and emotional passion and an interest in the mysteries of the world. Where did these ideals of Romanticism begin? Taking a look back into the 17th century, there was another intellectual movement that changed society, culture and politics. The Enlightenment was a time period lasting throughout the 18th century which brought about the Age of Reason in which politics, philosophy, and science dominated in Europe. The philosophies of the Enlightenment placed emphasis on rational and scientific thought and viewed the natural world as one that is governed mathematically and by scientific laws which could be understood by humankind. The Enlightened philosophies brought about this drastic change in all aspects of society which influenced the several revolutions of that time period such as the American and the French revolutions. After the French Revolution, the concepts of the Old Regime and traditions of the past in Europe were abolished while new concepts introduced by the Enlightenment were being implemented in all areas of politics, culture and society. Within this work, Freud had written the beginnings of his extensive theories on the human psyche and what goes on in the subconscious mind (McLeod, Saul, Sigmund Freud s Theories ). Freud s most credible work is that of the unconscious mind. He proposed that there are three levels of the mind s consciousness: the Conscious, Preconscious/Subconscious, and the Unconscious (McLeod, Saul, Sigmund Freud s Theories ). The Conscious is the waking mind in which real time thought processes that one is aware of are occurring (McLeod, Saul, Sigmund Freud s Theories ). The Preconscious or Subconscious is the waking mind from which memories can be called; it functions as storage and one is not necessarily aware of its processes (McLeod, Saul, Sigmund Freud s Theories ). The Unconscious is the deepest level of the mind that one is unaware of; it supposedly harbors strong desires and suppressed experiences that unknowingly influence the waking mind (McLeod, Saul, Sigmund Freud s Theories ). All three of these come together to form the person to which they belong, and both influence and are influenced by the Ego, Superego, and ID (McLeod, Saul, Sigmund Freud s Theories ). • 17. Stylistic Devices In The Giant Wistaria Final Analysis Writers of works of literature have long employed various stylistic devices to execute their literary objectives. Some of these stylistic devices include but are not limited to the use of settings, theme, and characters. Furthermore, such works can be analyzed, understood and interpreted through the lens of theories such as Feminism, Post colonialism, and Existentialism. The use of various stylistic devices in service of the exploration of various literary theories serves to make literature vibrant, richer, and much more useful to the society in which the work is produced. Through the use of the mentioned stylistic devices, writers are able to demonstrate links that exist between their works of literature and theories such as Feminism, Post colonialism, and Existentialism. Analyzing The Giant Wistaria Using the Feminism Theory Feminism, as a movement, can be defined as the struggle that seeks to do away with institutionalized patriarchy. Additionally, it has the aim of championing for the social, political, economic, and cultural equality between the sexes. In doing this, feminism permeates all levels of society and cannot, therefore, be restricted to specific disciplines. This is how ideas of Feminism abound in literature. ... Not only the possibility of amalgamation within the Horizon County is pending over the Fire Department, it seems to be affecting department head officials to a point where unity of command is really fragile. The internal problems that we see happening is causing a lack of respect between firefighters and higher ups and even between managers itself. Not only respect is fundamental in a fire service but it is also essential to maintain a professional level of services. The first thing that I ve noticed was the lack of confidentiality at the firehouse. For any reason, the conversation between Deputy Chief Emerson and Miss Shaver should not have been heard by any staff members from Station 3. Despite the sacrifices of these veterans, both those who returned and those who did not, Americans on both sides forgot or even vilified those who fought, either as losers or as tokens of an unjust war. Many Americans, however, especially veterans and those who had lost loved ones in the war, strongly supported the memorial. In fact, climate change has been occurring for tens of thousands of years. It began around twenty thousand years ago when the Earth was in the Ice Age, an era when the planet was entirely frozen. When the Ice Age ended, climatechange was underway and human lifestyle began to experience great transformations. These alterations have allowed humans to evolve from hunters and gatherers into a more diversified society, one where they thrived more than ever before. Due to climate change, human beings migrated to the Americasand developed technologies, languages, and agricultural methods to organize their societies from 14,000 BCE to 1400 CE.During the Ice Age, humans were mostly present in Africa, Asia, and Europe only. However, global migration became a more convenient journey because of climate change. For instance, the melting of ice made it possible for humans to migrate over a land bridge, which is covered by the Bering Strait today, from Asia to North Americaabout twenty thousand years ago. From the opposite side of the Old World, the Norse, more commonly known as the Vikings, were able to sail from Europe to North America in the eleventh century and colonize the islands of Greenland and Newfoundland Such journeys, as with nearly every migration taking place at the time, were all possible because of expeditiously increasing temperatures. As much as migration was ... Finally I will explain the role of the competition commission and regulatory bodies. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Market forces Market forces are primarily concerned with the supply of and demand for goods and services within the free market. The demand for a good can be influenced by many factors such as price, available substitutes and a person s income. Price can be one of the primary forces when looking at the demand for a product, it does however have limitations. Demand may not necessarily rise if the price drops below a certain level, people will automatically assume an inferior product and not purchase it. Similarly if a product that is essential to the consumer is priced higher the demand may not decrease, petrol is a good example of this. In order for us to predict how much someone is willing to buy at a given price, we must first create a demand schedule, which can be represented as a demand curve. (Fig 1.) Fig 1. It is apparent that as the price of an item increases, the quantity demanded reduces. This is an over simplification as there are many non price factors affecting demand. The Ceteris paribus clause can best used to describe this method of analysis. Non price factors affecting demand Product substitution occurs when the demand for one product affects the demand of another. • 37. Railroad Car Advantages And Disadvantages STRENGTHS Competitive advantage. The concept of hauling over a hundred railcars with as little as two crew members allows for a distinct advantage over the trucking industry with regards to fuel and labor costs. Space. A large quantity of railcars can be stored in a small area due to track design and the fact that cars are coupled together in a straight row. Maintenance costs. While this can also be a weakness, the longevity of assets is typically more than in other industries. Locomotives can last for 30 40 years with routine maintenance. Shared Resources. Mr. Harrison was hired to bring his precision scheduled railroad philosophy that he championed on two previous railroads. This initially transformed the company by streamlining the management team which eliminated approximately 1,000 positions. • 38. The Basic Idea Underlying Purchasing Power Parity II. Purchasing Power Parity i. Intuition The basic idea underlying purchasing power parity is the law of one price. That is to say, once the prices of the same bundle of goods in different countries are measured using the same currency, they should be identical. As a consequence, no arbitrage in equilibrium will force the goods prices to be equalised internationally. Consider a situation where there are only 2 countries, say, China with the Chinese yuan as its currency unit and Japan with the Japanese yen as its currency unit. We can express the exchange rate as either the number of yuan per yen, or its reciprocal the number of yen per yuan. For instance, suppose that the exchange rate, defined as the number of yen it takes to buy one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, for this example, we can see that if PPP holds, there is equalisation in goods prices internationally. The key to the appealingness of PPP is that that if PPP is valid, then there is no goods arbitrage, which indicates that it is impossible that economic agents can gain riskless profit by exploiting price differences. Suppose the price of the good is 100 CNY in China and 2000 JPY in Japan, and the exchange rate is 0.01 CNY: 1 JPY. Then this good could be bought for 2000 JPY in Japan and imported into China (assuming no transportation costs) at selling at a price which when converted into yuan at the going exchange rate would be 20 yuan (=2000Г—0.01), some 80 yuan less than the domestic price. In this case, the existence of arbitrage opportunities will force the exchange rate to be adjusted in order to reflect the relative price of the good in the two countries. As a result, the exchange rate should adjust to 0.05 CNY: 1 JPY for the sake of ruling out arbitrage opportunities. It is assumed that there is no transportation costs in this example; however, even if transportation costs do exist, economic agents may still be able to gain riskless profit. If the cost of importation is 100 yen per unit, which is equal to 1 yuan at the current exchange rate, the imported good is still 79 yuan cheaper. ii. Complications of Testing PPP According to ... • 44. Stereotypes Of Queen Elizabeth 1 Queen Elizabeth I ruled England during a turbulent time in its history. She was beset on all sides by those who wished to take her throne for themselves, whether it be through marriage or outright treason. With these threats, as well as the unstable political atmosphere across much of Europe, Elizabeth I could not afford for others to see her as weak. Although she distances herself from the stereotypes of women at the time, and even paints herself as a masculine figure to give herself an aura of strength that would deter potential usurpers, Elizabeth I s language indicates that she is not ashamed of her femininity. The Renaissance was a point in history where it was hard for women to hold political power. It was a commonly held belief that women were inherently inferior monarchs; this was likely reinforced by a significant number of female rulers failing to successfully rule their nations (Taylor Smither 48). Despite educational opportunities for noble woman being at an all time high, women who held positions of power had to fight tooth and nail to retain them (King 78). It was extremely difficult for a woman to inherit the right to rule, as it required every legitimate male heir to die (King 82). During this period, society saw powerful women as a threat to the status quo. Such women were vilified because they did what men did, and triumphantly, (King 78). Cycles of food restriction or deprivation also can lead to an unhealthy preoccupation with food and metabolic changes that promote fat storage are all the worse when in combination with overeating (FoodResearch Action Center, 2015, n.p.). The influx of food one day and than nothing in the cupboards to eat the next creates an unhealthy connection to food. When food is present, it should be to strengthen and nourish the body while supplying the much needed energy to function. But when food is consumed in mass portions and high calories manifest into low nutritional value the body is overdosed with calories that converts the majority of the meal to fat. Some of the most shocking statistics surrounding food insecurities are those pertaining to the overwhelming amount of food that is wasted. Summary Of This Is Water By David Foster Wallace There have two pieces of the article I recently read about, which is This is water by David Foster Wallace, and Letter to a young poet by Rainer Maria Rilke. I will be discussing the contrast between this two article and tell the audience what they were precisely thinking about life. For Wallace, he passed commencement speech to share the advice to people who hear at a college graduation. In his speech, he delivered the reality of how a typical adult life goes. His statement also talked about decision making, and how all choices will impact our future growth. On the other hand, Rilke conveys his ideas by wrote the letter to one military student who called Kappus. In Rilke s letters, I mostly focus on letter eight, because he pays attention to solitude and how it is essential to be a real artist. There is only through solitude that he will learn personal truths and he told Kappus to need to trust own feelings and to face what is difficult. Ralike talked about solitude in letter eight. As I grow older, I gradually understand that everything is not going smoothly, it is hard. There have many things you cannot be avoided, such as solitude. Nowadays, solitude already become a regular phenomenon in our daily life, for example, when I walk on the street, I always saw a person walk alone, eats alone, go shopping alone, or even goes to concerts alone. Analysis Of The Castaways Of The Flying Dutchman A Series for All Lovers of Adventure and Fantasy For centuries, humans have loved stories, particularly ones they can either relate to or ones that are plain exciting. The book series The Castaways of the Flying Dutchman falls more into the action packed side, but it is still well written. Brian Jacques wrote the series, with the first novel published in 2001 and the last one in 2006, spanning over a three book series. The first one is the one that named the series, the second book called The Angel s Command, and the author named the final installment The Voyage of Slaves. The series follows two characters, a boy named Ben and his dog, Ned, from the beginning when the two of them were unwillingly aboard the famous ghost ship The Flying Dutchman, before it became the phantom apparition that would haunt sailors forever. They are saved by an angel, who, recognising how they are pure of heart, sends them out into the world to spread their generosity. The angle makes them immortal, and the rest is an account of their adventure as they travel through the world on land and sea. Although they have a few of the same characters and similar themes, each book brings a different and unique plot to the whole narrative.
